Wendover Nugget Hotel&Casino Reviews

We had to ask for silverware twice. The waiter didn't even ask us if we wanted drinks. My 9 year old daughter ordered a well done steak it was rare. By the time we finally got it sent back and replaced she didn't even want to eat cause everyone else was done.

Only had a drink and gambled a bit, bit had fun and the staff was nice.

It even a star. Bloody sheets, drug infested!!!!!!!! Horrible management.... VIP Services are rude and unpleasant. Stay at Montego or rainbows even red garter is cleaner.

I used to really like this casino they would give me all kinds of coupons now they dropped me to a lower bracket after 7 years of playing there. I highly advise going to one of the other casinos like Montego bay or Rainbow or the Peppermill but here and the Red Garter I would stay away from.

My review is lengthy but will help alot in deciding on the Nugget for hotel, casino and food choices. First time in Wendover and i must say i wished it was at a different hotel. I give three stars for my total experience but it would have been only two if we didnt try the cafe. The cafe was the best part of the Nugget but everything else was disappointing. We arrived in our room to find carpet stains and wallpaper trim peeling and a nice hole in the ceiling in the shower area. I literally counted 18 seconds that it took for the toilet to flush. I had to hold the handle for that long because holding it any less did not flush the toilet. The sink could use some drain-o because once full it took about 2 minutes to drain. One of the handles was also very loose. We had a room with the Jacuzzi tub but it was interesting how we had to climb in it just to close the drain before filling it and climb back out with no handle bars. Also forna hotel with a few restaurants downstairs you would have thought the hotel room would have a mini fridge and/or microwave for any leftovers you brought back to the room. Nope we had to throw all of it away. The closest most convenient single elevator did not work and there was no signs letting us know. Staff for the most part was nice but we called room service for a couple extra pillows and never got them. I walked past employees in the hall and always said hello but only a few responded with a hello. The cocktail servers in the casino were nice. Im not a smoker and i understand smoking is allowed but it was so thick compared to Montego Bay which was bigger with more people smoking yet i could not complain of the smoke smell there. Speaking of Montego Bay we had better luck there in the casino including my girlfriend hitting the jackpot twice on two different machines in two days totaling about 2200 bucks. No luck at the Nugget. As i mentioned the best part of the Nugget is their cafe. Not the buffett! Stay far from the buffett!! We tried the buffett the first night and the food was limited and nasty. We tried the cafe the next night and loved it so much we went back 2 more times during our stay. Try their chicken noodle soup and burgers they are awesome! Staff there was also awesome and even helped celebrate my girlfriends birthday with dessert even though they said its not something requested often. Next time we will stay at Montego Bay hotel but will eat at the Nugget Cafe. We were not able to try the steakhouse because the prices were high and we didnt hit the jackpot in time to try the steakhouse lol. Will return for the cafe but thats all we will be doing at the Nugget.

It's old and honestly not that attractive. Could be considered a monument at this point haha.

Got locked out of our room but the staff were all reallygreat, definitely helped make the frustrating situation into a bearable one :)

Would be great if they would upgrade and clean it up a bit.

Only went there to dance. Music was eh. They would play a good song and then a weird song. Drinks were not great either.

Nugget hotel has been far my favorite hotel to stay at! Very nice service, great rooms and lots of entertainment!

The rooms are very nice but the food was obviously store baught and cooked in a microwave

Fantastic stay, clean rooms, and great accomidations!

Price was decent. Quality is poor at best. The other casinos seem to be upgrading and the nugget has many issue with astetics. Broken or damages every where. Example: Broken/ Cracked windows or doors. Paint is bubbling in hallways unaddressed. Carpet is very dirty. Elevator button / hand rail is fall apart. At all the bars. 1/3 of all the video poker say out of order. My room was full of minor damages but, with the rest of the problems. This was just more signs of poor upkeep From staff service was poor. Multiple staff members from different areas disrespectful or disinterested behavior. Front desk, Starbucks, cafe, and securty are the areas I interacted with poor service and all these areas were not helpful or provided the minimum effort to assist in their area. The bars had good service but again. Lots of machine were broken. The cafes food was perfect is the only truely good thing about my service on this visit. I didn't have high expectations at all and it still was far short from what I came to enjoy some years back. Nugget, I am sorry for the poor review but this was really bad this time and I am not happy with this visit. I will be changing casinos on my next visit.

I'm not a gambler, and I really like wasn't staying the night, but the food wasn't bad.

Played Craps at the Nugget for a few hours. It was my first time playing and the dealers were great about giving tips and helping understand the game.

A fun place to spend the day and drink all you want and eat all you want no kids

Our room was supposed to be non smoking but ended up next to a room that was smoking. Our room was very out dated and needed a make over. There was numerous stains all over the room. We stayed right next to the skywalk so we heard every single noise and people would pound on our door as they walked by. It was one of the worst stays I have had at a hotel.

Rooms were 100% filled but the night was enjoyabe. The restaurant in the peppermill was insanely slow and so was our service. I will never eat there again.

Being that this is Wendover, it's a decent hotel. However, had it not been for a group special we were getting I would've been SUPER upset about the room rates they charge.
Take a step back in time to a casino hotel that reeks of smoke (smoking is still allowed in the casino and hallways. There are ashtrays everywhere...).

This hotel is a Health Hazard. My shower only had hot water no cold. Sink didn't drain. Appears to have mold shower. When ask to be compensated the front desk clerk said it was my fault because i didn't complain soon enough. Ask for MOD she no. When asked for business card she said no.when asked for GM's phone number she said no. Asked for room receipt she said printer broken. I have been in hospitality industry for 25 years and 30 states. Pathetic

The cafe has roaches. I had 2 crawl on the back of my booth. When I told the and the pit boss all they could say is we can give you a room tonight. They give people rooms every night with coupons. Why would anyone want to stay somewhere that has those. What was more insulting was I told them I have a fear of those and will not be stepping10 feet from the doors and even had ghe pit boss meet me out side. Stupid acting people! So if like bugs joining you well you are trying to eat then it would be 5 stars. As for me one is to many. By the way this happened at 11:20 pm on 2/9/2016. The pit boss did not seem to care that I was upset and shacking. I guess because I was not screaming it did not happen.

Great hotel cheapest around. Clean rooms and fresh linen. Service was amazing.

I don't even want to give one star. I used to gamble there often and the pit boss David would always try and give me a comp room, well the one time I took it they ended up charging me for the room and when I called to get it fixed they just transferred me to a voicemail. I will never gamble on this casino ever again

I have stayed at Motel 6's that have been better! Shower has zero water pressure, one minute the water is scalding hot, next minute it is ice cold. Air conditioning did not work. Had to beg the front desk to be moved to a different room. Finally got moved to a different room and all I can say is at least the air semi worked. Shower was horrible once again. I felt like I was in a third world country! Worst hotel I think I have ever stayed in. Will definitely not be returning

I've never been to the hotel rooms so...I wouldn't know if they're good or not. As for the food, it's pretty good. And the staff is pretty nice and friendly. Oh and the actual casino is located at the state line, basically the border of Nevada and Utah. This fact is shared with Montego Bay.

Old and dated. The hotel room was completely dirty. The hvac system in the room didn't work and there was no hot water in the shower

Rooms need to be upgraded so it don't look like a hotel from the 70's and 80's.

Poor buffet, broken toilet handle in room. Beds comfortable.

Place needs a good remodel, like new carpet, better bathrooms and the like

Cocktail waitress sucked, played forever and no one came around. Ask one lady and she said someone else will help us. Don't recommend this place

Really enjoyed my stay in my room, good prices and also enjoyed the food at the restaurant while playing live keno.

Just went out for the day and had a really good time with my wife.

The hotel is beautiful and affordable. However, I was not pleased that the hotub in the room didn't have the correct plug for the drain. So, it kept draining. Showerhead was leaking and the carpet could have used a good vacuuming

Sometimes I just stop at a place to look around. Next time I plan to stay.

Rooms clean , service great . Rooms smell to much like cigarettes. I had my infant there his clothes smells terrible when we got home.

A bit out dated, but a genuinely wonderful experience. Met a wonderful bar tender, super amazing service and kind. Made my husband and I's trip.

Absolutely run down. Terrible cafe, what a disappointment. Elevator did work which make it hard for handicap individuals to get in the casino. Waited 45 minutes for food that was hard and cold. Steak like leather......will not go back. I ordered steak and cheese enchilada wow...steak over cooked and about a quarter inch thick......

Hotel is dead , players card rewards keep getting changed , buffet is awful restaurant is worse , service in both is really bad ! Was there all day and never asked for a drink !

Enjoy our time at the Wendover Resorts, phone wait time is the only weak link when attempting to confirm reservation.

No mini fridge, had to call the front desk twice for maintenance because the shower wouldn't drain, the wallpaper is coming off. Hair dryer wouldn't work. I hope they remodel soon.

I have only been to the Nugget once and played their slots. The Casino is clean but the machines are a little outdated. There isn't much choice of different games. I am staying at the Nugget for 3 nights in a couple of weeks. I sure hope the rooms are nice and not like the comments I have read.

The ceiling had water damage, the walls are paper thin. My neighbors were fighting at night. So we didn't sleep.

This place is gross. The dealer at the blackjack table was rude and very unwelcoming.

Stopped for Starbucks... Didn't see the sexy black jack game, so kinda bummed

My room had bed bugs!!! Crawled on me in the middle of the night! Got my cell phone flashlight out and saw them, it was horrible!

Had to have maintenence in 3 tines, then while I was sleeping, someone came into my room!

Great hotel and Casino to visit. Better ventilated than the other 3 casinos on the strip and they always have open tables.

The room cost $114.00 and the TV didnt work at all. Called the front desk and was told that since we already checked in and paid there was nothing they could do.

Had a blast at the Nugget. It was a bit smokey tho.

Very clean. Unfortunately, our non-smoking room smelled faintly of cigarettes, but it was very faint and probably because it's a fairly old hotel.

Worst Hotel / Casino ever.....under new management however. We'll see.

I have stayed at the red garter hotel and at the time they were doing a lot of construction I did enjoy my stay in spite of that...I am planning on going again this weekend,hopefully it will look a lot better :)

I have always been treated with respect and a genuine and honest manner to were I fill like a freand by the staff and although clearly im not a millionaire spender they have always gone above to see my needs met and if it is something not done they have always informed me there incapableity with out lowering there respect and treatment to me

Tbh I really love the sky walk and this lounge it's beautiful also the slots are fun and some I haven't seen before I was very happy

Need to update your rooms, toilets showers, etc. It's been a lot cleaner in and around the casino property in the last year.

It's a Golden Nugget. Wish they would update their casino's. The only one thats decent is on the coast of Mississippi.

We took the fun bus from Salt Lake to Wendover, and we spent half our time at the nugget mainly playing blackjack and craps, we had a fun time even though most of us lost all our money.
The drinks didn't come around as quickly as we would like and they didn't have some of the beers we would have wanted, but overall it was a fun night.

Went on a Sunday night the lady at the desk gave us the keys and said here you go didn't tell us what elevator to take or even give us a floor map. So after 10 min or so we got to the right area and the keys didn't work, so went back to the desk and got new one, all while carrying our luggage around the new keys worked dropped our stuff off and went out. Came back around 9 to get in the hot tub filled the tube couldn't get it to turn on called the desk they said someone would be right up, while waiting looked around the room one lamp was broken so you couldn't turn it on, found dirty linen on the bed and a couple towels in the bathroom called back down to the desk rang like 20 times some answered
said hi maintenance is on their way and i precede to try and tell him about the other stuff and was cut off and was told he will fix it. Waited about 2 hours and no one by this time my mood was ruined so we stripped the dirty linen and the linen under the top looked fine and went to bed. Had to turn up the heat beacuse the balcony sliding glass door didn't seal in fact it had such a breeze coming through that the heavy black out Curtains kept blowing open and you would get the neon blue glow of the hotel we should have stayed. Can you guess what the heater didn't work either by this time it's 5 am so we got our stuff pack and went to check out. Got to the desk told the girl at the desk about all trouble we had she sorry your cards has been billed and she couldn't do anything for me, told me i could call back and talk to one of the managers. The number that she gave me was the wrong number but i found the right one called and got transferred to the manager no answer left a message 10/23/17 called again left a message 10/24/17. So because the wendover nugget hotel really doesn't take the time to take care of their guests i strongly recommend that you not stay or even gamble here, fyi red gater that they a affiliated with not any better.
