You can't miss the place it's got the pink pig in front
It is an okay classic American small town bar that serves food.
Everything was fantastic from the appetizers to the main course!
The restaurant was not busy by any means, and it took 30 minutes to get a beer from our server. We ordered food and got the food over an hour later. The fries were cold, the food was surprisingly very good. Im not sure if its terrible service or if the kitchen is just extremely inexperienced so it slows the waitstaff down. Either way. Something needs to change. I'd be surprised if they are still in business a year from now.
Need some castle danger, otherwise great place, great people, great food
If you don't mind having to ask for pickles and olives on every bloody Mary you order, watch the bartender take Jager bomb shots and be called old and arthritic because you expect better service. Then this place is for you
Food was ok. My first and only experience was a chicken lunch buffet. The chicken was a bit dry and not real tasty. The other items on the buffet (mashed potatoes/gravy, mac & cheese, pizza) were better than the chicken. Service was pretty good. The atmosphere was is what it is... an old bar. The price of the buffet was pretty good, if only the chicken had been more flavorful this would have been a solid 3 star review. A co-worker had a burger and said it was very good (3.5 stars).
WOW. I m not sure if I ve ever had such a bad experience with a restaurant both with food and customer service. My husband and I ordered food to go because we wanted to support a restaurant during a time where restaurants may be struggling. More
Was just there - waited 10 minutes - saw 2 other tables get waited on prior to us and it is clearly not busy tonight. Terrible terrible service.
Nice atmosphere. Wild Rice soup was great. Angry Italian was almost perfect. Would've like the hoagie bun to be toasted. Will go back again.
Great waitstaff, Kristin! We had burgers, onion rings and fries! My burger was suppose to have fresh sauteed mushrooms but they were canned. The restaurant needs an uplift, paint etc. Thwy need more waitstaff too, Kristin was definitely overworked!
We like the food, mostly good. Prices are pretty good. Staff is mostly friendly.
Nothing special about this watering hole. All the expected fried eats. An average assortment of beer. The atmosphere is generally pretty okay.
The Friday fish fry tasted very good and was filling.
Great blues music and 1/2 price pizza on Wednesday nights
Fun staff, good feel. Would make this the watering hole
Nasty dive bar. Seen guys come of of the men's restroom without washing their hands and dig into the self-serve popcorn! The pizza smells like body odor and I have seen employees buy ice from local gas stations and break up the ice in the bag on the sidewalk in front of the gas station!?! The ice bags have holes in them :P
Hubby said best prime rib sandwich ever!! I also loved my salad. However, no waitress was wearing masks and they did not seem cautious about s.d. either
This is one of the most friendliest heaven's have been to... A very friendly atmosphere, awesome food at reasonable prices..... A nice place to go play a game of pool or shoft tip darts an electric dart bored... A nice place to bring your buddies or you girlfriend and hang out,, have a few laughs eat dinner maybe a few drinks..... I give it a six star rating... Must have ID to drink alcohol beverages.... Depending on the time one should call to inquire about minors and curfew times.... Daylight hours I would bring the family and enjoy a nice friendly environment they have indoors and outdoor seating is available in summer time months... A very spacious deck for those of us that smoke. So come bring the family and enjoy a nice evening and a lovely place...
Second time there.. Had to go back after an outstanding 1st time. My wife had the prime rib which she said it was on point. I took the cooks suggestion of chicken and ribs.. The broasted chicken was outstanding and the ribs that just came off the smoker were so tender and delish!! Will be back over and over again!
One of the best places to spend time when in the Twin Cities. The food is amazing.
The atmosphere was fun, the servers are nice. Gives you a hometown vibe. The cheesy potatoes are awesome!! The prime rib was mediocre. I've jeard they have awesome pizzas, so I will be back to try that!
Absolutely, give it a go!
Great dive bar ! Walleye fingers are 10/10 and... Hamms on tap.
Very good Friday fish fry! Thank you!
Welcoming and comfortable from the time I walked in the door. Service was excellent as always.
The burger patty was surprisingly chewy but i pulled big piece of plastic from my mouth. Apprently the burger came with the plastic patty wrapper cooked. In her defense waitress told us that similar incident happened several times before and nothing to worry about. In our comfort she promised to YELL at kitchen, once again. I am giving 1 star rating as she really did yell to kitchen in front of us.
Perfect dive bar. Nothing pretentious. Great food and service.
Great steak plus fresh asparagus from their garden grilled to perfection. Wait staff friendly. Bingo was loud at times, but check their calendar if you want to avoid that or even if you want to join in on handbag bingo. They had some happy winners.
I purchased the Groupon deal for two comedy show tickets, two drinks, an appetizer or two side salads, and a pizza. I was a little nervous walking in that the comedy show wasn't going to be very good basing it off the dive bar atmosphere. I then learned not to judge a book by the cover because the show was quite funny! They had three different comedians and the show was close to two hours so you definitely get your money's worth! I agree with other reviews that the service wasn't very good. Our server was short with us and didn't keep up on the drinks. Besides our free drink she asked if we wanted another one right before the show started and then we sat with empty drinks for 30 minutes before she decided to come around the one and only time during a 2 hour show to ask if we wanted another one. We ordered one more, finished those and then right before the show was over she ran the bill over, dropped it on the table, and walked away without asking if we wanted anything else. I would think you'd have your best servers tending the comedy show. The pizza was good, about the size of your frozen pizza but with lots of toppings and cheese! Keep in mind there's about $5 tax you'll pay when you redeem the Groupon. Their drinks are expensive too. It was $6 for a 16oz Blue Moon and $7 for a 16oz Summit Saga so I'm kind of glad the server didn't come around more otherwise we would have had quite the bill. I would definitely recommend seeing the comedy show! It was a fun night.
two days ago was our first time we came to that fine restaurant. But It is definitely not the last. We had great time with the courteous service, with the magnificent cuisine and wine and with the decent charge. We will no doubt return there soon.
Go for the all you can eat snow crab legs. Delicious and really cheap with a laid back environment.
Very attentive waitress s and Great burgers. Full menu good too. Amanda is the best!!
Came here for Mother's Day, they had a great spread at the buffet and we didn't need a reservation. Kind service, albeit a little bit slow. Seemed like a nice local sports bar.
Poor customer service. Menus were literally thrown at our group.
Good food food prices. Clean restrooms. Nice place.
Atmosphere = 2 out of 5
Friendliness of Staff = 3 out of 5
Presentation of Food = 2 out of 5
Menu Options = 2 out of 5
Taste of Food = 4 out of 5
Painfully few vegetarian options
The food is REALLY good. Atmosphere is a bit sketchy, but most people are very nice. Went to a comedy show, it was terrible.
Old school..prices got a bit pricey except for specials..great food!
Fun local bar. Best wild rice soup I've ever had. Walleye and prime rib dinners are nothing to scoff at either
It's like having another cheers bar good people good conversation
Had a good time at this bar. Friendly and attentive bartender lady. Chill atmosphere. Reasonable drink prices.
Food was very good as was the service we will be returning
Did great and Fridays the meat raffle and all you can eat for 2.50
Went there with a Groupon purchase. The service was nice but the place was really dirty. The booth we sat in had old food all over the cushions and on the floor. I'm actually not a picky person, but this was noticable. As a party bar I'm sure it's a lot of fun. But at this point it's not a place for a family lunch.
Decent place....a little worn but good food....friendly people and Bartenders, wait staff.
Excellent ribs, great broast chicken, very friendly staff
Good food. We have gone twice and both times we had problems with our order.
Broasted chicken buffet: limited, but excellent flavor. Deluxe pizza: wonderful. Iced tea: yuk, tasted nothing like tea, waitress was at a loss, but she did say other patrons commented on the tea. Right now, road construction makes getting in and out of the parking area real guessing game.
For anyone who rated Welch s Big Ten Tavern less than 5 stars is missing the point of this establishment. It is a fantastic local bar, with good food, real people and good company, located next door to a mobile home park.
Have some drinks. Order some food. Enjoy the company and have a good time. Don t overthink it.
Enjoy your time here!
Family owned restaurant and bar. The food is all homemade and delicious. They have a comedy night, an open mic night and bingo. There s a good size outdoor patio for sitting outside.
Really chill owners. Fun to pop over for a beer and some fries to avoid traffic.
People were nice the food was pretty good. I'm sure we'll be back again.
A great place to hold an event or holiday party good choice of beers Pizza Great too!
We had been to Big Ten twice before and our experience was fine. The third time was not the charm. We waited for 40 minutes after ordering our food, only to be told that they were "out" of the mac and cheese our daughter had ordered. No explanation as to why this miscommunication took so long--just a shrug and half-hearted apology. After pleasant service by the same server our first two visits, the servers seemed genuinely annoyed by our presence from the minute we sat down.
If you want to get blind drunk at noon on a Sunday, this is the place for you. If you actually want a meal? I'd look elsewhere.
they are a quaint and home town feeling and the employees are friendly we used to go there for the comedy show but we got busy and yesterday we tried there food again and omg there hangover burger was delicious they have daily special and prime rib on the weekends . you have to go try them they won't disappoint.
1st time visit. Great food, and great service. Really enjoyable.
Calzone was excellent. Smoked prime rib was extra super fatty, almost 1/4 fat. However, the garlic mashed potatoes with the prime rib were absolutely awful. Truly out of a box and disgusting!!!
Loud, rude service. Terrible food. Greasy good. I ordered a salad and the lettuce had a lot of dirt on it. Won't be back.
Love hanging out here. Everyone friendly and like family. I love the customers and all the wait staff. Good food, good company, good drinks. Linda also makes the best shot, (grapies) must try!
I really like this place. I would consider it a "dive bar", but in a good way. We went for the meat raffle, which was short but fun. They also have a comedy club, which feels like it could be anyone's basement, but was fun to go.
Stopped at Welsch's for the first time Saturday night to watch a comedian. Wasn't sure what to expect. Didn't know if it was a bar, a restaurant, or a comedy / entertainment club. It was all three! We were extremely impressed. The food was great and the service was top notch. What a pleasant surprise. Who knew! Will be back and definitely tell friends and family.
