This place is honestly the worst. I signed up for a contract with them after they did some promotion with my work. They do have some nice coaches. I was verbally offered a deeper discount for enrolling during our promotion. I got signed up with a trainer who touched me inappropriately and made me feel incredibly uncomfortable. When I talked to the person who was managing our account, they just assigned me to another trainer, who was fine, but I still had to see the other unwelcome one. When I said I wanted to cancel my contract they told me I could not AND they did not honor the rate the salesperson had offered me. Reading another review, I totally agree all they do is get you in the door and then provide horrible service from there on out. An extremely expensive trap. If you are not a swimmer and just need a gym, I would choose Club Fitness over Wellbridge over and over again.

Joined in May 2017, left in February 2019. I never took any of the group fitness classes, but worked out with a personal trainer the entire time I was a member. I agree with another comment, the new facility was hit or miss.

First, the bad stuff. The men's locker room was pretty filthy with stuff thrown everywhere all the time. Some of the lockers smelled so bad I didn't use any in the vicinity (in the new club), and the showers were not as clean as they should be. The steam room often stunk to the point where I didn't want to use it (and I hope it was mud people were tracking in there from their shoes). The dry sauna was often not working or not hot enough to do anything. The parking situation is 100% dreadful. It is a total shame they didn't make other arrangements, like garage vouchers instead of valet, but that is just my preference. There were some maintenance issues in the main weight room, and the layout was odd.

There are some good parts. The pool is an A+, I haven't been in a nicer one in a long time: short course meters, salt water, impeccably maintained, not very crowded. This was an outside smoke. (Fellow swimmers will get this reference.) My personal trainers were fantastic, and despite some issues with another trainer (whom I didn't ever work with) during the transition from the first one to the second after the first returned to school, I had a great experience.

I had much higher expectations based on their positioning this as an "exclusive" gym. I felt they failed to deliver on the services/amenities, maintenance of the equipment, and cleanliness of the club. In essence, they have the same issues as you'll find at any other gym, so I decided why should I pay more. My new club is $119 less per month (~$1400 less per year) and I have access to and use the same things I did at Wellbridge. If I factor in the amount I paid for personal training the numbers jump DRAMATICALLY. If you like group fitness classes, then this might be the place for you, they have a lot of them.

Wellbridge is the gym experience I've been searching for! Wellbridge feels nothing like a big box gym and everything like a 5-star resort-- gorgeous lobby, personal welcome at the front desk, spotless locker rooms, and specific studios (spin, yoga, pilates, Reformer pilates, etc.). As a runner, I especially appreciate the selection of treadmills (they even have the AirRunner!) AND the recovery tools such as the NormaTec compression sleeves. I am currently training for a marathon, and Kuang, one of the personal trainers, has tailored strength and stretching routines just for me. Love it!

I love being a member of Wellbridge Athletic Club! It is truly a state-of-the-art facility. Top of the line equipment, great classes, (especially love Spinning in the beautiful Spin studio) great instructors, and incredible personal trainers most of which have been there for many years which speaks volumes. It really is beautiful!

THE MANAGEMENT SUCKS IN THE SPA,I TURNED DOWN A POSITION THERE AND OUT OF SPITE THE MANAGER ANDRE DESTROYED MY ESTHETICS LICENSE
BECAUSE I TURNED THE POSITION DOWN FOR AN,,, ESTHETICIAN POSITION,THAT WAS MONTHS AGO,I WENT TO PICK UP MY LICENSE,SHE WAS VERY COLD AND SAID THAT THEY WERE IN THE MAIL,I NEVER SAW THEM AGAIN,SHE MADE SURE THAT IF I DID'NT WORK THERE, I WOULD'NT WORK ANYWHERE,NOW YOU HAVE TO GO TO JEFFERSON CITY TO GET A NEW LICENSE,ONE DAY PEOPLE WILL SEE HER FOR WHAT SHE REALLY IS, AND THE SPA SUCKED,I'M VERY STRICT ABOUT SANITATION...............

I gave up after circling to find the place then trying to find a place to park. It was too cold to be making life decsions about whether or not US bank would have my car towed for parking on their employee and customer only lot. This is Clayton, it is not sexy to be having those kind of thoughts in this area. Well, there is a jail up the street but whatever. I don't understand why there is valet parking and there is no actual parking, not even meters. There is construction going on everywhere. Clayton is a nice area but seriously, there is no actual parking to justify VIP parking. I suppose if I wanted to get a brisk hike in, I could have parked down by the metrolink but then why go to gym? Also, I spoke with someone over the phone and did not get a quoted price and could not find one listed anywhere on their site, fine BUT there better be parking!!! I am sure it is lovely on the inside just like the pictures on internet show. Can't wait till they post pictures of an actual place to park.

So I have worked here twice. this place is a Disaster the staff are unfriendly it takes for ever to park and the layout of the gym is nothing short of an over priced you (know what). take your money and save it. there are plenty of other gyms that can get the job done.

I joined Wellbridge after the new location opened in Clayton. The facility is gorgeous with the latest equipment, studios and pool. My wife and I used to go to classes all over town, but it makes more sense to me to belong to Wellbridge. The trainers range from super tough for the super fit, to laid backed for people like me not training for the Ironman. I think Wellbridge has it all, and for anyone in Clayton, Ladue, CWE, University City area...you can't beat it.

I think We ll-Bridge is conveniently located for people who work in Clayton. The amenities they offer are quality enough to merit the price that they charge, and the gym equipment is top notch.

You re probably asking yourself, if that s the case, why the 2 stars?
It would be for the following reasons:
1. The locker rooms, showers, and steam room are frequently filthy.
2. The gym area itself has dust piles in nearly every corner.
3. On two separate occasions I had items taken from my locker and the staff offered little to no help in recovery of the items. One was an Apple Watch and the other a pea coat and suit.

All in all, I would recommend lifetime if you are looking for a premier club.

Some of the negative comments here have merit, and may reflect the higher expectations of those willing and able to pay a premium. However overall it s a great gym. The pool is outstanding, and the classes I went to were solid. I never had parking issues and wow there are just too many valets standing around doing nothing pushing up membership fees. To be truly premium they need to bump up the general ambience (lighting, fittings, smell, colors) and cafe. Childcare is excellent. Overall it s a really good club and I hope they continue to improve.

I have been a member for roughly 2 months. So far my experience has been pretty poor. The whole place seems very unorganized and poorly managed. My initial tour was friendly and welcoming. I was promised things that never came to fruition. Scheduling appointments is complicated and misleading. Most of the "features" they offer are still a work in progress. I get a lot of "we are working on that." My massage experience was also confused and one of the worst massages I have ever received. I have seriously regretted my decision to join. Unfortunately I am locked in to a year long contract. I tried to cancel 2 weeks in, but they would not allow it. My guess is that this place will have to close within a few years.

The new facility is a disaster. There is no parking. The valet service they hired is rude and unhelpful; they have even suggested where to park instead of having to provide the service for which they were hired. The support staff is utterly uncaring. For the money (over $250 per month) you'd expect customer service that reflects the premium nature of the club. The $10 per month gym in U City has better customer service.

Just did a spin class. Bike was in great condition, room cool, sound system awesome, instructor one of the best ever. Locker rooms are incredibly nice, fresh towels, pool, spa, sauna, steam, showers!! This place has it all!!

My wife and I join in January 2017 and have really enjoyed the facility, personal trainer, and spinning classes. The gym is well equipped, the trainers are very knowledgeable and push you to your limit. The locker room, shower, and sauna are nice. Local construction affected parking, temporarily. Otherwise parking is good. Location is convenient and safe. Improvement to the steam room will warrant 5 stars.

Love that the club feels fairly small, but it offers a wide array of classes, equipment and amenities. Yoga classes are great, I never have to wait for cardio or weights and the locker rooms are always clean.

I have taken several classes at Wellbridge including amazing pilates and yoga classes. The instructors are very knowledgeable and engaging. I have had several injuries and they are always able to provide a way to accommodate me without minimizing the workout.

The club has not so convenient hours like all the rest in town especially on the weekends they open late and close early, however during the weekdays they open 5am till 10pm and have great high end free coffees for members and hot tubs and full length swimming pools along with a great high floor views of the trendy city it s in. I love it sooo much, can t get enough.

I love Wellbridge so much I recently got a position to work there as a Licensed Massage Therapist. The Childcare is great. The facility is clean. The pool is very nice. It feels like a resort. I never have problem with parking. I love the group classes. There's so many workout machines always available. You get two free personal training sessions. They don't give out prices because they are always giving away great promotions. I love massaging, deep tissue, Swedish relaxing, trigger point I do it. Don't have to be a member. $65 for an Hour in a very clean beautiful Spa! Let me take you on an hour vacation on my heated table.

I made an appointment for a tour visit last week, and I even called ahead and spoke with the salesperson David to confirm my visit while I was on the way. I was assured that he will be able to give me the tour. I even asked to reschedule if he was busy, but when I received the assurance of his availability, I drove to the appointment.

When I arrived, the front desk called David, and I waited 20 minutes, yet he did not show up. I was told he is touring with someone else. I asked for a different person to give me the tour since David is busy but the front desk staff was unhelpful and indifferent. I guess he was the only one that day, but maybe the front desk did not know. Their problem solving skills are not impressive!

Of note, David knew how busy my schedule is, and how difficult it was for me to find the time to visit the facility based on previous conversations with him.

I left the facility without being seen. What a waste of time!

I joined this gym 2 weeks before Covid hit, closing the gym entirely. Not only did they make me honor my "three month commitment" - which I signed thinking that part of that agreement was that there would be a gym to go to - but they twice denied me asking to cancel after. I called and spoke to someone who I told I wasn't comfortable coming back to the club after it had opened back up and sent an email later to which I never got a response. That was months ago. Now, calling the 3rd of February, no longer playing this game, I am told that I will also be paying the fee for March because there is a 30 day cancelation. Sorry, you know I've been trying to cancel for months. Really appreciate someone draining my pockets during a time like this.

Most of these reviews are accurate. I would add that for the steep price and supposed club atmosphere, there are things that they are falling short on. Parking is awful, the cafe is closed so often and does not match up with gym hours (impossible to fuel before or after a workout), front desk staff is not aware of class hours or locations. Here is the picky stuff: They could really capitalize on more of a club atmosphere with seating / lounge areas that were even slightly functional for work and meetings. The steam room and hot tub are great but they don t provide any place to relax in the locker rooms rooms (I know... picky, but they should not call themselves a club and it would just be good design to do this). Really just paying for the steam room.... can t help myself.

The new facility is very hit and miss. Nice locker room and shower, pool, yoga room, and spinning bikes. But the parking situation is awful, the new desk staff is not well trained, often uninformed about gym facilities. Poor staffing on the main workout floor. Often you can't find anyone up there. The vast majority of machines do not have access to TV on their monitors, so you have to watch one of a few short "motivational videos or TVs mounted on the wall. The "clean" towels are often stained and dingy. Fans have yet to be turned on in workout rooms. More and more things exact an extra charge despite the increase in dues. I am a member for 18 years and until the opening of the new WB, used to work out 5-6 days. Given the host of hassles I find myself more often working out at home. I've heard so many members say they are seeking an alternative.

I have not and may not join. However I wanted to say the workers seemed friendly and not as pushy as other reviews make them out to be. Johnny was persistent but not annoying. The facilities and amenities seem great and well maintained.

Careful of what you are sold here. I had a membership here pre-COVID and it was a good experience. A little pricey for what you get given no outdoor areas, but generally a good experience. I signed back up in November after being told they were "fully open". Not true. They have very restricted hours (basically when I was working) as well as limited classes. I had assumed they had the same hours they had pre-COVID, given they were advertising on their website that they were "fully open". I told the sales guy one of the reasons I wanted to rejoin was because they have hot yoga and I was looking forward to it again. Once I was signed up I went to schedule my hot yoga classes only to find out they are not being offered (along with many other classes that are offered when they are "fully open"). Also, weekend hours are pretty limited, and given they open early and close early, I just couldn't justify the cost. I decided to pay the extra for Lifetime Fitness in Frontenac since they are much more open and accommodating to their members. After two months of this, I tried to end my membership that required a 3 month commitment, they charged me the third month, even though they had been deceptive in their sales and marketing. Just sharing my experience so others aren't surprised. Be sure you investigate all the details and don't assume based on past experience.

I went here for a massage. Kiyoka Was literally an artist. You can tell she loves what she does. Her rhythmic technique lulled me in to the most relaxed state ive felt after a massage. Thank you Kiyoka!

I just spoke with Mike in their membership department and asked if they have any options for me since I'm coming into Clayton for a long weekend and an looking for a club with a good list of group exercise classes. He confirmed they don't offer any short term memberships or passes for non-locals. I have to know a member and be sponsored to get in. He said they're a private club and can do that.

Way to roll out that welcome mat!

My experience at Wellbridge has been great. I have never had to wait for a treadmill or bike(except for a few weeks in January... like most gyms). I haven't taken any classes and have not worked out with any trainers, so I cannot comment on them. My wife has had nothing but good things to say about the massages she has received at the spa. The membership price is high... use it as motivation.

Just moved to clayton and would of for sure joined this place but guess what! They don t list how much the membership is! That s right, you have to go to the place in order to find out how much it is. You know what this means? They don t believe in whatever price they are asking, but believe their salesmen can talk you in to it. Join Center of Clayton instead, they actually tell you the price LOL

I've been to a ton of gyms and I love this one it is gorgeous.

It's super clean and spacious. All the workout equipment looks like it was bought yesterday.

They have tons of people who are passionate, knowledgeable and compassionate. It's tough to find so many people who do all 3.

So no matter what stage you are in your health journey they have someone to still get you to your goals effectively and efficiently.

It also doesn't feel like it a gym. More like a resort. Towel service, spa, steam room, salt water pool, etc. It's so awesome!!

I LOVE this gym! It's clean and convenient- I go to classes and get ready for work there. I LOVE the pool. It's the best gym experience I've ever had. Parking can be difficult but not if you use the valet

Love working out here and had a great experience with my two free personal training sessions. Really enjoyed Eric's spin class and anxious to try many more of the classes. (Plus - love getting a Kaldi's Cold Brew when I'm there!)

I do not recommend this place. The frontline of the membership (sales) and facility are very nice. But once they get you in the door, the service they provide is horrible and not friendly. I don't want to overreact but I do feel some staff there are a little bit racist. My friend was even asked once by an instructor "do you speak English?" I talked to the management about termination my 12-month membership because I dont feel comfortable and welcomed there. They definitely don't want to lose money from membership and give me options that I still need to pay for 12 months no matter what. To anyone who wants to join this gym, be very careful and dont let them trick you. I am extremely disappointed about the service at the gym and definitely not coming back once 12-month is over.
