Weber County Sheriff's Office Review

As a family member of the law enforcement community. I am shamed to say Weber County Jail, correctional and medical staff is very barbaric regarding inmates that have medical history and required needs in reference to treatment for these medical ailments. Obviously, the freedoms of these inmates are very much limited and done so by their own disregard and/or mistakes made to put them in that particular situation. However, giving these limitations, the medical staff should have policies and requirments set in place to reduce systems of these conditions medically, based on per individual inmates. There is not an excuse to minimize the extremity of the negative symptoms inmates are having by not being given this custom as a citizen, & to carelessly ignore or find solutions in reducing their discomforts. They are still people. Convicted criminals or not, these folks still have the right to have humane and decent medical treatment without any prejudices prohibiting the seriousness in each individual inmates case, nor should that medical treatment be undermined by staff members who self-justify their process of treatment due to stereotyping inmates as not worthy because they are in the very system they are sworn to uphold. Personal opinions aside, medical needs need to be met with the up most seriousness and precautions taken. Also, with all due respect! RESPECT......

I spent over $1,000 fighting a reckless driving ticket after a truck hit ME and I walked out with a clean record after 3 court visits. All because a sheriff decided the sober equalivint of a dui was a light thing to hand out. The truck driver only recieved a ticket for improper lookout. (For crossing a double yellow) The sheriffs can all go to hell.

They should just stick to what they do best, sitting on roadsides where speed limits don't exceed 35 and prey on unsuspecting drivers. Tax dollars at work ladies and gentlemen

This whole department needs a do-over . I ve needed law enforcement assistance on several occasions, and find myself, just not calling , Nd dealing with it, because the thought of calling these guys, is USELESS. Giving the badge a bad name boys.

Extremely disappointed. I am so grateful for law enforcement and understand they have a hard job BUT I thought they protected the innocent. My child was threatened by an adult and then was treated as it was his fault. The officer told my son that "words matter" but then taught my son that what he meant was only "selected words matter". He then justified the adults behavior due to frustrations of his own because of where he resides. My son cried and said "my words don't matter mom and the cops won't protect us they protect the bad guys". Unfortunately that seems the direction we are going now days. I know that Weber County can do better - I know they can! They are an amazing group of hard working people. Please I beg you to change how you treat the people who call you for help. Please!

Amazing.They were awesome with the kids, gave them little stickers. Very professional. Explained everything they could do about my specific situation. Very kind. Couldn't have had a better experience with them. Thanks guys!!

The website is atrocious, completely lame. However, when I finally determined the correct number to call, it was answer by a deputy that was pleasant enough, who gave me all the information that he could. So the person who answered my call was great, but due to the extreme lack of information and usability of a website for this facility, I could only give two stars in this review. SERIOUSLY, improve your website so people know what is up with visitation, commissary, writing letters, your dress code policy, putting money on books, etc. I am a highly visual person, so information given via this automated call crap, is just that, crap. And if it is all possible, please consider the next time it comes up for contract renewal, going through ICSolutions for phone service. They don't charge big fees and expensive phone rates. I have not visited the facility yet, but will post another review after I have.

Lots of negative reviews here, so I think I'll balance them out a bit. I work front desk at a local motel on graveyard shift and the Sheriff's dept. has never let me down. They've always come when I call, arrive quickly, and have resolved every situation in a professional and decisive manner. Negative reviews come from negative people. I've seen the best of the Weber Co. Sheriff's Dept. during some pretty bad situations. Thanks for your service!

Good department. Sheriff Ryan seem to know how to care and serve his community to the best of his ability. Overall, great people.

They hired 2 scumbag cops who were fired for being bad officers. Former detective Kayla Doloff, whose laziness got a young woman murdered at the University of Utah, and Jeff Payne, an officer and paramedic who illegally arrested a nurse. Seems like a shitty department. I wouldn t trust them to help me out of a wet paper bag. You can see Jeff s illegal arrest online.

I called to see what the visiting hours where. The girl I talked to transferred me over to ask, but they where closed. So I went to go leave a messege. And as I was in the middle on leaving one, they decide to disconnect me. Like, What?...

Is there another number they might have that they ll actually answer?

Disrespectful,wastes of space the whole building unbelievably rude and disrespectful everyone i dealt with.. Would love for a few of them to take that bage off.and try speaking that way..

It is an eternal principle that applies to ALL people. Rich, poor, black, white, male, female, the felon, the preacher, the mother, the immigrant.

We the People long to honor them that protect. But when the Protector turns to Abuser, A protest of disgust and dishonor is the result. Much like a father who receives great love and honor from his wife and children for his love and protection, but if he becomes the aggressor that threatens and uses force his family will fear and despise him and see to rid themselves of him.

Sheriffs and captains, sergeants and chiefs, train your men to love and respect the people. Train them to bring peace to every situation. Take your hands OFF your guns and keep your cuffs in your pouch. Build trust once again with the people. Even soccer moms have become afraid of you. Abandon this culture of force inside your departments. You can not force people to be good. YOU are putting your men, the people, and the future of this country in great danger by training your department to use force first rather than respect and kindness."

The deputies refuse, repeatedly to enforce utah statute in matters of parental rights. They pick even halves of sentences and focus on single words taken out of context to justify their own ideology and prejudice against men. I will be posting videos of them doing so on YouTube.

These guys are a joke I've called 3 times needing help and I've got no answer.

Terrible Food. Terrible Staff. No WiFi. You have to change your own bedding. The beds are terrible. The other guests are terrible. The recreation yard is concrete. The only recreation in the recreation yard is hand ball. Just a terrible place!
I would not recommend anybody visiting Weber County Jail!

I had a incident where a black dodge pickup truck with pitch black tinted windows was following me from Farmington, had my 3 year old daughter in the car with me, the man kept making the same lane changes as me, following to closely and flashing his High beams at me. I finally made it to West Point and he was still behind me and almost hit me, I called 911 and the dispatcher was really nice and stayed on the phone with me until the deputy arrived, just a couple minutes later I seen a sheriff coming towards me and he flipped a U-Turn and made a traffic stop on the truck. Came to find out the guy was heavily intoxicated and was arrested. Thanks to the 3 deputy s that came and took care of the situation.

We know your not in the customer service business. Thats obvious. Pick up a phone. If you can not. Establish a Web site that offers complete info for all services. (WOULDN'T IT BE NICE FOR WEBER COUNTY NOT TO BE KNOWN AMONG ALL AS THE WORST SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT AMONG NEIGHBORING COUNTY'S ) Stop treating your citizens like uneducated indigent people, so others will stop looking at our county as a group of uneducated indigent citizens. Some communication, manors, and better attitude would go a long ways to improve public relation thus improving moraliy in the community. It should be heavly noted providing info to imates as well as there loved ones should be as important as providing info to others seeking other service information. Jail should not act as Guantanamo bay last time, I checked. This is one of the most complained about services you offer. The lack of information on your Web site is a concern for all involved in the circumstance. People in jail, people who have loved ones in jail are humans too. They are asking for info not exceptions, freedom, ect... Information! Would like to have to do something new with little to no direction? Would you like to be treated with rude manors when asking for directions? It's not all bad, but major improvement is needed.

You hear bad things about dispatchers but once it happens to you, one begins to realize this is a major problem.
I called for a simple reason.. dog running at large. Dispatcher with no provocation, begins arguing with me. Asking why I called, my name, my number, my address, my DOB. Never once asks me where the dog is located, never asks type of dog. All she wants to know is who I am.
I told her that my information isn't prudent to the situation and to just get animal control out to get the dog because he is aggressive. Dispatcher continues to argue and be belligerent.
For the life of me, just send out animal control. The call went on and on and on. Mainly with her being condescending.
I've never ever been in trouble with the law. Got a seatbelt ticket once and that's it. This kind of interaction with LE makes me think, this is why people dislike and don't trust LE. Acting like that.. Ridiculous.

The staff at this facility is great and are willing to work with inmates to help them to better themselves.

Google their number at 11pm, no answer after 50 rings, no vm, no nothing. What a bunch of losers, we have to pay foe this service, operative word...SERVICE...what are we getting for it??????

I have had 5 interactions with the Sheriff's Department. Out of five, two of the officers treated me like a decent human being. The other three were either having a bad day when I met them. Or we just jerks. Who knows.

Answered the phone promptly. Very friendly and helpful. Not sure what number others are calling. The woman who helped me was very pleasant.

The worst at helping. I called and got the run around, transferred over and over, for just a simple question.. So rude when you do get ahold of someone.

Cant figure out how to put money on someones books without the link taking you to a page thats been removed. Get it together.

Medical staff was terrible. Parents couldn't get any information, no one answered the phone.

I've had my fair share with the Weber County Sheriffs. They were always professional and kind to me even if I was at my darkest moments. They know what they're doing.

Thank you guys for all your hard work I liston to the scanner and you guys have to handle a lot of stuff and really bad everyday . I love how friendly your officers are in passing and how understanding you guys are thank you for keeping us safe. May all the angles be watching over in during your shifts so you can return home safe.

Everyone there are complete jerks, no one knows anything about anything, girl who answers the phone is extremely rude when asked questions, if she doesn't want to deal with people then she should not freaking be working there, this place is a complete joke. It's no wonder the public hate law enforcement and all personnel.

It would help if y'all actually picked up your phone when people are trying to call. Worse police department

They need to have better Patrol In country place subdivision and the
Farr West City . They need to provide better patrol and reorganize there sheriffing patrol system. Thank you very much.

A Sherriff rolls through a residential neighborhood at over 40 miles an hour 10 minutes after a parade with kids everywhere. There was a bit of an emergency but is it worth risking the lives of the kids and dogs to get there 10 seconds faster? I call the office to complain and nobody answers.

Horrible staff. They treat you like criminals when you are actually just trying to visit an inmate. They are very rude and cant even look you in your eye. They treat you like your not a even a human and more like an inmate when infact YOUR NOT!! Not friendly at all, they literally throw your ID card at you and yell without looking at u what number your visiting screen is. Unprofessional and hostile environment. They act like they hate their job.

The ones in Washington Terrace.
They are rude. They try to give you a ticket for pretty much anything. Even imaginary things.
When you have something stolen from you they pretend to write it down and it gets lost later. Police are supposed to serve and protect these guys seem to just want to watch the world burn.
They definitely don t give you your Miranda rights. And the thing they are going to charge you for changes as soon as you get to the jail. I 100% support police lives. I know some great men and women.
I m going to every city council meeting from now on. These guys need to be stopped.

Don't come to my house with my disrespectful son and tell me i have to do ANYTHING. Don't disrespect me in front of the little tyrant by telling me I'm not allowed to speak. Seriously, you idiot, you just made things much much worse with your inappropriate behavior. THIS is why people detest law enforcement.
