Liked the exhibits which were active, but the best...
Liked the exhibits which were active, but the best heart touching exhibit was the bronzed hat which Walt wore and was presented to his wife with flowers in it as a vase.

Not only great content but the presentation and interactive exhibits were wonderful. Best museum experience I've had!
Amazing experience, and history of Walt Disney's life. The entire museum was fascinating to go through.
Love this family and love Walt's work. Comprehensive history with tons of artifacts.
A super nice place, family and with a lot of nostalgia
Unbelievable, Walt was such a visionary and his imagination was lived in animation and to life in the Happiest Place on earth DISNEYLAND. What a joy to learn his history.
It contains the contents of the early Walt Disney episode. It seems to be different from the idea.
Nice little museum, some rare items and a good look at Walt growing up, worth a trip.
My family and I arrived just before the doors closed: at 4:45. We only had about an hour and 15 minutes to go through the exhibit, but we thought that would be enough. Sadly, it was not. We were rushed along by rude employees, but I wish I could have had more time. The museum and exhibits itself are informative and charming and my only complaints are again, the rude staff. I would suggest getting here before 4 if you want enough time to enjoy all the best parts. If you're low on time, I would recommend not spending too much time at the beginning (Walt's childhood) because the most exciting stuff comes after the halfway point.
Fascinating facts & anecdotes about Walt Disney, his family, and all his different endeavors. A must for any Disney fan!
I loved the museum. Uncrowded, friendly (friendliest) personnel, and gem of exhibitions. I am so grateful!
A museum where you can learn about the history of making Disney by engaging in animation since Walt was born.
It's very interesting to understand the history of anime in the United States and how the giant Disney company was created and what difficulties it had.
A very educational place where various ideas of Anime Genesis and ideas of animators are scattered.
The latter half of Disneyland is also explained, and the diorama is worth a look.
Very well done. Definitely worth the visit and the money
Awesome place, ~30min walk from the Golden Gate Bridge. I wasn't expecting much but I was pleasantly surprised by how nice it was. Recommended!
A must visit for any ultimate Walt Disney fan. The museum provides you with the opportunity to learn about Walt Disney and his vision for all things Disney inspired. The museum is set up in a timeline format. In the first room you are introduced to Walt, his family and his childhood. Towards the end of the museum tour there is a room regarding Walt's death which I found to be very moving.
Love this muesum. If you are a Disney fan, this is the place for you. Lots of memorabilia pertaining to Walt's early days, as well as numerous exhibits related to his later success as an animator/filmmaker/visionary. Can easily spend a few hours at this muesum. The staff is both friendly and helpful.
Really fun little museum with a wealth of information about Disney's early years, including some fascinating letters and telegrams and pictures and snippets of early animation. Well worth a visit. Look for the Presidio free shuttle.
Walt Disney was a innovative genius. In this museum you can admire his legacy and see many facets of his life and work. It's a fortune that his daughter Diane has founded it. worth a visit.
Gotta love Disney. I grew up with the cartoons, so it was awsome just being there. Want to work there one day.
Great museum, I just don't know why it's here and not in LA
I'm not a fan of little kids or little kid movies but I had a fantastic time here! There is definitely stuff for adults too
Superb museum detailing the whole history of Walt Disney. Appreciated the various stories, exceptionally large exhibitions and unique items that I had never seen at other Disney Company related history exhibitions.
Kind of disappointing if you want to be looking at the real deal in terms of artifacts (most are reproductions) but still a great room-to-room story. Especially awesome if you are a Disney fanatic
Nice museum to take family especially if you're a Disney fan.
Great place for artists and creators to visit. Shows a lot about the evolution of Disney & helps us understand how the company thrives through so many generations. The museum also has lots of interactive pieces that kids would really enjoy.
Visited the Mickey Mouse special exhibit and it was really touching. It was really touching for me to see the evolution of Mickey over the years and how it has been pivotal to growth of Disney as a whole.
Go here if you want to know more about Walt then you ever want to know.
For every Walt Disney fan. This family museum is for you!
I visit this museum around twice per year, and am always impressed by the excellent curation of the displays.
There is something for different types of learners and experiences here. A visual learner will go through the museum differently than an aural learner, and different from a kinesthetic learner. It's an impressive undertaking, and a place I recommend for everyone who loves American history, even those who have little interest in the parks.
It's a shame when you stomp from the other end of the city on foot to look at the museum s buildings, and some of them are hung with scaffolding. To prevent such embarrassment, it is better to inquire in advance.
Incredibly in-depth museum with an impressive collection of memorabilia from the Disney family celebrating Walt's life. I learned a lot about the man that I didn't already know, plus the special exhibits on Glen Keane and The Nine Old Men were both fantastic.
Well done! Interactive, informative, pleasant, and above all maintains the magic of Disney.
We spent almost 7 hours here! Loved learning more about Walt Disney. Lunch was very tasty too! Mondays are the discount day... Extra exhibition was free with admission to the main museum
I've signed up with one year membership because I can't be satisfied with just one visit. The drawings and the making of cartoon movie at Disney studio as well as the creativity were so fascinating to me. The service at front desk and Cafeteria here could be better.
Absolutely love coming here! It s amazing to learn how Disneyland got started, and the process and journey Walt Disney had to go through to be a success. I m grateful to their family for sharing all of his memorabilia and trinkets so I can share it with mine. I was able to snag some post cards, 2 for a dollar and a cute Peter Pan book for $7.
You will have to pay for parking, $2.50 per hour. Which is not bad at all! I would highly recommend bringing a picnic blanket and food to eat when you finish the museum. The view of the Golden Gate Bridge will make you want to stay there forever.
Excellent way to spend a couple of hours. And a 5 minute walk to lucas film
spent three hours here !!! it was so much fun and history combined.
My husband Tony and I went there with Steve Real last month. It was lot's of fun.
Great experience at the Disney Museum! Would definitely recommend for families too
If you are a fan of Walt Disney's body of work, you will enjoy this sizable museum. you get the complete Disney history and progress to date, space allow yourself two hours to work you through way through the exhibition.
About 2 hours of work to view in this amazing museum. If you are a fan of early Disney films I m sure they have at least one piece of work inside. My favorites were the original sketches they have.
The cafe is a great spot to hang out with family and chat. It's a very nice facility!
If you're a Disney fan, this is a fun place to visit. I am not sure if this is good for kids because there's a lot of information to read with the displays and pictures and small children can get bored. It took us over two hours to go through the museum and I felt like we rushed in the end because we were getting tired. Maybe we need to go early in the morning and not in the afternoon after a full day of events. They also show movies here, but that's an additional fee. Wear comfortable shoes, there's a lot of walking and standing involved. I actually don't remember us sitting more than a few times and only for a few minutes at a time.
There's ample parking outside.
Quick and nice stop. A few fun interactive displays for kids
Loved the museum. Learned a lot about Walt Disney's beginnings and his ups and downs. Saw early drawings and what led up to Mickey. Saw how all his movies came about through planning. Got to see a replica model of Disneyland as well. Only issue I've got is why charge $30 a person when there's only 17 rooms of just so-so displays? Then they add more to go see another building of drawings but you're not allowed to film or take photos because everything there is copyrighted? Really? Plus the souvenir shop is way overpriced. $17 for a fridge magnet? Are you serious? I'd suggest it for Disney enthusiasts but if you're just there expecting more for what you pay, you'll be disappointed.
if you love Disney or even like it a little, you definitely should come see this museum the magic is real!!!! :)
Good museum about the history of walt Disney, and how things were done back in the day. Too bad it's only informative and not practical for the young ones. Also it's rather ridiculous that you have to pay nearly 20 bucks to get in... C'mon, I could find out all those stuff online. They need to think about making it practical rather then just a gallery and videos...
Go there. You will love it!
Walt's history is rich and amazing.
Super cute museum in the Presidio that is a must-visit for Disney fans! The museum is two floors high and quite wide across. There are elevators and ramps so the museum is handicap and kid-friendly. Due to the location, one part of the museum has a stunning view of the Golden Gate Bridge.
The museum has a good mix between art pieces and interactive pieces. I loved that the museum is set up in a sequential timeline of Walt Disney's life. The rooms are set up so you follow one path to understand Walt's ambitions and dedication to his business. Don't want to ruin the experience, but I will say my friends and I had all sorts of feels leaving the museum.
Love The historical perspective and insight in to the man and all he accomplished.
I only realized later why it's called family museum. Who wants to know this is correct. It's not about films or very little.
For children completely wrong, which also affects the store. Nothing worth seeing. Sorry but I expected a lot more.
Good place to spend one or two hours (depending on how fast you read) to learn about Walt s history.
Memorabilia, replicas, small video clips and interactive exhibits there. More suited to older children.
Cafe and souvenir shop at the end of the walk.
Great museum from the family perspective, not the company. This is a all day visit as there's a lot of exhibits to go through. I especially enjoyed the personal family films and personal objects. This is Diane Disney's project. Her point of view dominates. Sharon Disney is lightly covered. The gift shop is not a Disneyland or Disney world type store. So you won't be seeing products found at the parks. There are two buildings to the museum. The main one that everyone goes t and a special exhibits one which you have to pay an additional fee to get inside. Admission is free for military but always check their website in case they change. Parking isn't free. There's a parking lot between the two buildings but it can be hard to find.
Walt Disney Family Histroy and development of cartoon
So much history, photos, information you'd never expect to learn!
The experience was a pleasure, and the exhibits well put together. Not sure it was worth $30 a person though... :/ Maybe $15 or even $20, but not worth it at the current price unless you really love Disney.
This is a great place for all disney fans. It has on display everything from Walt's life. The plentiful parking is a nice bonus.
To recommend to all, fans of Disney characters or not. Indeed, it is an opportunity to discover the history of the family and to make many discoveries about the Disney brothers. Very rich, the course is complete and instructive. We have learned a lot.
There is an on-site restaurant for coffee or a light lunch. Worth the detour.
Awesome place wish we got there a little bit early so we got more time to explore
Unexpected the size of the exhibit, could have spent more time in the museum if we had known. Liked the fact that the history was raw and not "Disney'ed up" for the sake of gaining merchandising sales. If the history of Disney is of interest plan for several hours, if you are looking for some ears and plush toys, pass on by.
This is a place that everybody should go see it's something that a lot of people don't know about there was a lot of stories and how he came up with Disneyland and all other movies and stuff that Walt Disney did with his brother
Absolutely amazing museum that gives you a truly unique look into the life and work of Walt Disney. You can easily spend 4-6 hours here where you will find a birth to death tour of Walt's life complete with photos, guided tours, and artifacts from the Disney Family. They have several discounts, memberships, food court, gift shop, and plenty of parking. Highly recommend.
Museum near the Golden Gate Bridge. It was a different fun from Disneyland. You can understand the history of Disney. The location is difficult to understand, but if you have the opportunity, please do.
Wonderful place to learn and explore the life of Walt Disney, fell the magic.
Great, informative experience for the adult Walt Disney fan!
Beautiful setting to learn more about the life and work of Walt Disney.
Firstly the area and building and beautiful to look at.
You do need to pay for parking but spaces were available.
We were not sure how interesting we would find the museum but once we were inside we enjoyed the high quality and interactive exhibits.
A definite San Francisco must-do!
