Plan on waiting atleast an hour in the lobby and another hour in the room before the doctor comes In. Slowest service EVER! The doctors are nice but the service is SLOW . Make sure you have a clear schedule after your appt because you won t be out in time .

Be prepared to wait even with an appointment, I've been here for multiple visits and was told by a member of staff that patients are scheduled 5 minutes apart. Not uncommon to wait for 1-2 hours after your appointment time.
Worst hospital visit i ever had! if i was dying i could have died already because of their poor flow of service! waited for 55 minutes just to get seen by medical records department.. was told to pay $12.00 for insurance copay then waited another 35 minutes to be seen by doctor who made me wait another 25 minutes before she showed up! never again i will come to this place. if you do not value your time and love to wait.. then this is the hospital for you!
Worse doctor office I have been to. Appointment was at 11:45am and it is now 1:05 and I stil havent seen a doctor and I am in a new waiting area. No one has came to apologize the wait or anything the nurse asst wasn't friendly at all would not recommend this doctor to no one....
I arrived at 11:04am for an 11:20am appointment. It is currently 1:20pm, and I continue to wait to be seen. My actual experience with Dr. Wardell will now be irrelevant. No doctor is worth a 2+ hour wait. I'm not coming back.
the staff may be nice but the person in charge is terrible. while she worked from home during this pandemic she made her staff work double the amount. Any person who treats staff like that dose not deserve your support
This location gave me Poor customer service . I spoke with the the receptionist she had a don't care Attitude. I will take my business elsewhere in pain and all.
Well I'm old school and try to pay cash for everything. Was making co-pay with cash on every visit. On the 4th visit they said I made no co-pay. They told me this on my 5th visit. They said they had no record of a payment. As everyone knows that goose to a Dr. you sign in make co-pay then see said dr. You don't get past the desk without paying. So when I question them they kept changing the story on what the charge was for. Long story short they are calling me a liar. I love the Dr. but lookout for the staff.
I'm a Nurse and I've been going Dr. Wardell for 11 years. He's the BEST! There's usually a wait - but he's well worth it! Many great people in the office and Physical Therapy!
Dr. Wardell and his staff are outstanding. They are kind and empathetic. They assess the problems you're having and don't hesitate to start a treatment plan. The facility is clean and comfortable. My mom is a patient there, and even though it's a 30-45 minute drive--coming from Greenbrier, it's well worth it.
Be prepared to wait 2 hours for to see the doctor...over scheduling at its finest. Just sad, that I took off work for my 2:20 appointment. Arrived here 20 minutes early, and it s going on 4pm and I still have yet to be seen. This is ridiculous!!! If I could give 0 stars I would.
The doctors are amazing, but the organization and timeliness of the office and front desk staff leaves a lot to be desired. There is something to be said for kindness and compassion which is missing at the front desk.
The ONLY thing that saves this office from a ZERO star rating is the doctors and nurses are compassionate and have an amazing bedside manner. It is hell in the waiting area, but once you get to the back, you will be pleasantly surprised. It is like night and day in the level of compassion and care...
Doctors PA's Nurses Techs Therapist & therapist assistants are awesome & the only reason I couldnt give 1 star. The back office staff was great cannot say the same about the front office or the therapy front desk & billing. To make this long story short as possible I was a post-op patient. My first visit after my surgery I sat in the waiting area for at least an hour because I had a balance. I had to pay over $100 for my file to be taken to the back to be seen. Once I finally got to the back the nurse apologized because I just had surgery I wasn't supposed to stay out front there longer than 10 to 15 minutes with that brace on my leg even the doctor apologized & also she got some of my money back because I wasn't supposed to pay. Whatever visit there after my file wasn't taking to the back until I had to pay some money or talk with someone from billing up until one of my last visits I talked to someone from billing that said I was in post-op and I wasn't supposed to pay anything during my post-op my surgery was in January. Also I was supposed to be set on a payment plan that started in April. I had to cancel appointments at times because I didn't have the money to pay that I knew they would ask for when all the while I wasn't supposed to be paying in the first place. Every visit felt stressful. Therapy had me come in at least 4 to 5 times and rejected me because the insurance hadn't authorized my appointment. After the second time I was rejected when they called to set up a 3rd appointment I clearly asked them was it authorized by insurance company and I was told yes I came in for my appointment again and was rejected because the insurance had authorized my appointment. I reached out to the office manager I had to leave a voicemail I got no response. I got tired & stopped going altogether praying that because of all the frustration involved in just getting a doctor's visit in which my insurance was paying. It seems like accident workman's comp patients they treat better and it's easier for them, Regular patients aren't & maybe they need retraining! Will never return
First of all i would have rated this place with a -1,000 stars if i could, but google wouldn't let me. I went to this place giving them the benefit of the doubt despite all of the comments of people telling me NOT to see these people because of their rudeness and lack of professionalism, and lets not talk about their google reviews from other patients! I myself am in the medical field could never imagine treating my patients the way that their office did. From the moment i arrived at the check-in desk, the whole vibe in that place was just NOT INVITING!!!!!!! I wanted to turn away at that point but decided to continue on. i then sat down to wait my turn, then was called back up to the desk to pay my co-pay. they told me initially that my copay was such and such amount, i proceeded to tell them that that was incorrect and to please refer to the back of my card what it clearly states that for a specialist they are to bill my insurance company and then i get a bill for the remainder, after i asked them to review that again for me, they then came back and told me that my co-pay would be $100.00. i then asked to speak with their billing person. When said person arrived at the desk she had nothing but the nastiest most crappiest disgusting attitude in the world!!!! she rambled on with her whole "spew" and would not let me get a word in edgewise. and by the time she did finish she had two of her other "co-workers" standing behind her with the most snootiest looks on her face like they were in some type of "MEAN GIRLS CLUB" or something. it was then that i requested ALL of my paperwork back, and for them to cancel my appointment. THIS PLACE WENT ABOVE AND BEYOND THE LOWEST RATING THAT THEY GOT!!!! I WOULD RATHER SPEND THE REST OF MY LIFE IN EXCRUCIATING PAIN, OR DO SURGERY ON MYSELF WITH NO ANESTHESIA THEN TO EVER DO ANY TYPE OF BUSINESS WITH THEM EVER AGAIN. I'M SORRY THAT I EVEN WASTED MY TIME! DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND DONT WASTE YOUR TIME HERE! UNLESS YOU'RE INTO BEING TREATED LIKE ROAD KILL!!!!! PSSSSSH, ON SECOND THOUGHT THEY PROBABLY EVEN GET TREATED BETTER!!!!!
dr wardell is the best orthopedic doctor around . i've been with dr wardell for over 20 years and received excellent care. yes the wait is long but you receive the best care
Would rate zero if I could. Dr. Wardell was content to leave me with an egregious misdiagnosis of a shoulder injury (said I had arthritis and bursitis) and was going to leave me on muscle relaxers, ibuprofen, and cortisone injections "as needed" indefinitely. A different doctor was able to use the same MRI Dr. Wardell ordered, and identify 360 degree labrum tears, and recognized this in a matter of minutes. Not only that, my injury occurred in a combat zone, and I was unable to file workers comp, because Dr. Wardell believed I was able to return to work. This doc is more interested in your return visits than he is fixing you.
I made an appointment at 1pm and get there on time, then have to wait over 2 hours to be seen, and this is like the 5th time this year it has happened, I should not have to wait that long. If I had another appointment I would have to either walk out and loose my copay or miss the other one.
Dr. Wardell is awsome. Very thorough and listened to my every concern. He is a good dr. And the nurses were great as well. I felt i was in real good hands.
Date of visit: 042716. This has to be the best ortho group I have ever visited. They fit me in right away as I was in VA from out of town. The front desk personnel, nurses, and X-ray techs were very helpful and extremely friendly. The doctor was ok, although not as personable as the rest of the practice. Her recommended treatment was sufficient to get me home. Thanks again!
If you are in pain, this is not the place for you. I walk with a cane and am very stooped over but needed to take my 83 year old husband who was in a lot of pain, to the doctor. Our primary dr made the appointment. I had no idea that we would wait 3.5 hours to see Dr. Wardell. He is very pleasant and helpful, but I have trouble believing that any dr is worth this. The staff, I would rate 0. All they could say is "I'm sorry." Attitude of that is just the way it is. I highly recommend the Spine Center, Dr. Kerner and his staff. This is the first time that I have ever written anything like this.
