Great for walk even without going inside (what is of course recommended at least once). It is great to see very old parts of London next to modern buildings.

Touching this magical piece of history is like a time machine trip into the past.

The London Wall was the defensive wall first built by the Romans around Londinium, their strategically important port town on the River Thames in what is now London, England, and subsequently maintained until the 18th century. It is now the name of a road in the City of London running along part of the course of the old wall between Wormwood Street and the Rotunda junction where St. Martin's Le Grand meets Aldersgate Street. Until the later Middle Ages, the wall defined the boundaries of the City of London.

Between Tower Hill Tube Station and the Tower of London, with a statue close by it believed to be of Emperor Trajan, this substantial chunk of wall is able to be visited any time, so I had a look on my way to an appointment nearby.

Free to see, plenty of signs and information for context. Brilliant English heritage spot.

Walking here every day, nice view and full of people

Visited the outside of the London wall walk. Easy walk and you can view the London tower from afar. Information boards available and there's a nearby bicycle station

The history of the English monarchy passes from here ... from William the Conqueror onwards ... castle, prison, museum ... a fascinating place full of history ... to see absolutely.

A bit quite interesting but too crowded. Also Keep in mind of pickpockets and Snatchers.

Built by Romans two thousand years ago to keep their neighbours out. Watch The Only Way Is Essex , and you ll understand. But isolating themselves from the outside world did have disadvantages, and after centuries of inbreeding and a general lack of fresh fruit and vegetables, the first cockneys began to appear, as did a primitive form of the British aristocracy. The Romans were slow to recognise the severity of their situation, and when they did finally try to escape, they found that the peoples of Essex, noticing what was going on, had added another two meters to the wall, and bricked up all the gates..

The remains of the Roman walls, because yes, our friends from Rome also arrived here. If you arrive by the subway in tower hill you find them practically in front. Evocative.

Beautiful place to meet for the first or any other time. Beautiful both in daytime and night. Has it's charm and interesting history. Nice place to have a walk or just enjoy the view, easy to get to from Fenchurch street station.

Beautiful old. Down the river, there is a river cruise. There are many ancient buildings nearby.

Imposing reminder of the medieval period and it's brutality: both in architecture and deeds. You can imagine Cromwell's exhumed dead body being hung, drawn and quartered here, with the head being displayed on a pike in its grounds, and not be amazed that it all took place in the heart of the most modern metropolitan of the cities.

Beautiful surroundings that take you into the past.

London is a particular and unique city, in which the change does not shade the past, you can still see remains of the Roman wall rising between the paved streets and the Leandenhall Market, built on the floor of a Roman basilica and that is that London It has more to offer than what one can receive.

This part of the wall was uncovered as a result of WWII bombing raids.

Words cannot describe how beautiful this place is. Always very packed. Luckily i worked there during lockdown so had the place to myself

I walked the wall in Spring break in 1963 with my Uncle Joe Chance he was better than any tour guide he was an ace at History and he took me to Tower of London Hampton Court Buckingham Palace Windsor Castle Albert Hall Speakers Corner Trafalgar Square Picadilly Circus all the famous sights and 88 bus tour on top it was fascinating he was the trigger for my love of English History and Geography

Interesting place. The visit is approximately 3 hours. Great income for the crown, again I think the price does not justify it but you have to visit it

since we had already spent enough in London and had little time available, we preferred not to enter (paid attraction) however, I suggest you go to "Byward Kitchen and Bar", a few hundred meters from the London wall, to enjoy a super breakfast / brunch.

The pedestrian entrance to walk around the walls is exactly over these Roman remains of their wall around Londominium and you can follow a walk all the way to the London Museum. Very close to the Tower Hill underground station.

Beautiful place, filled with history. They take good care of it and it's a delight to even walk around at night. Not bad transportation either.

It is not a fascinating site compared to the tower of London. Specially the attention the tower gets, however, the remaining part of the wall is a testament of time. Almost for 1800 years it has been standing there. The small section of the remaining wall presented in such a way that one can see the cross section as well as different layers added in course of time by different people. Though it might not look like something huge today but think about the time was build and you will understand its impact.

Very nice remains of the Roman city wall....this is the highest remains of the wall. Statute of Caesar in the forefront.

As a history buff this was a big highlight. Took little time to find and you can touch it! Yes, it s just part of the original wall of londinium but it s free, easy to find, quick to do and there s a nice info board explaining it all. The kids loved being to touch something so significantly old! I love history and if it would be only for the great historical value of the biggest example of the Roman city of Londinium I would think it is great but really for the uninterested in archeology there is no much to see. I enjoyed the visit, though

Wall is good. To pay the very expensive Tower tickets is not.

It's amazing castle really I like to visit this place again

A very interesting walk, if you're into historical development from cities. You see some very great remains of the old city wall from the old Roman settlement as well as from the newer settlement, which developed into the huge metropolis we know nowadays.. Even so it's very interesting, however the path isn't good maintained :/ every information sign at every station leads you to the next station, however some signs/stations have been removed, and so to find the station after the in missing I had to use my handy.. in the end I was more searching for stations at Google maps than actually doing the wall walk, which was quite annoying.. In the end I only found half of the stations but the ones I found mostly had been very interesting.

The juxtaposition of history with brutalist architecture is brilliant.

I thought this was an Italian restaurant and had the embarrassment of taking a date here. It's actually just a wall, but a really nice one. They don't serve food at the wall, but it's still definitely worth the visit.

Not only is the statue, it is seeing what remains of an ancient empire and one of its most remote locations.

It is kind of an ancient fortress, very well preserved, despite being over 950 years old, it is surrounded by gardens, and in the back, towers, and a very crowded square of people every day, in the gardens on sunny days the People sunbathe on the grass, to rest a little from everyday tasks. On one of the sides, in a pit, it is full of millions of red flowers, it is a huge cloth.

Historic and simple place, it has many things that remind us of London's extraordinary past

One of the longest city walls in the world. Amazing piece of history

This is a great place to take in the historic views of the Tower of London by doing rounds of its perimeter grounds. Plenty of photo opportunities in which you can explore at your own pace. There are many benches to relax on and take in the stunning castle backdrop. The main square contains the ticket booths for the paid tour of the Tower of London which is priced reasonably but if you want a free thing to do The London Walk is a real 'leave the wallet at home' treat. Located nearby plenty of bus stops and its own subway. There are information plaques dotted about the walk with information on the Tower's rich history A great cost effective way to spend the day at your own pace. It gets a 5 stars from me.

Next to the Tower of London the Roman wall goes by somewhat unnoticed (the remains rather), but you get an idea of the location of the Roman city of Londinium. It is incredible that after so much time and so many social and war events, some canvases of the Roman wall remain. It is to respect that the English also recognize their past as part of the Roman Empire as many European and African countries.

A place you could learn more about history of London, quite differnce from Winsor Palace
