My 61 yr old mother in law fell and hit her head, the ambulance didn't wrap or try to maintain the wound other than applying pressure. The hospital staff left her in the hospital bed, made her apply pressure to her own head wound. The nurses were just sitting around talking about nothing, then caught an attitude when I asked for someome to attend to her wounds.... She had already went through 4 towels of blood and they left her in a room alone with no one monitoring her to make sure she didn't faint, pass out, go into shock etc... Worst hospital expierence ever!!!!!!!!

I went to emergency department, people here are very unprofessional, nurses are so rude, the people who are checking in they were busy gossiping with each other. I will never go to this location at all, and I do not recommend to anyone else.
I had my baby boy at the end of November, just 9 months after the corona has started. Needless to say I was very anxious about giving birth during the winter surge of the cases. But the hospital and the staff made me feel like there wasn't any pandemic happening. I was having a scheduled C-section and everything went very smoothly. The amenities are high-end hotel room like. The food is great and the nurses are just amazing. Especially a nurse that was with me before and after the surgery, made me totally forget about my fear and anxiety before the procedure. The only downside I see is that as second time parents we felt more relaxed to ask for our baby to be at a nursery during the night but the hospital offers only full room-in with the baby ( I of course acknowledge all the benefits of rooming in just think that parents need to have the option to choose). Despite that, the nurses offered us couple of times to watch over the baby we just somehow figured it out. I most definitely recommend this hospital to new mommas.
This review is for the ER. First, let me begin by saying I do not expect an ER visit to be luxurious or even pleasant...you re in pain and scared and now there is the constant concern of exposure to Covid...so given the choice, I would not choose to spend 5+ hours in an ER unless i truly felt it was an emergency. I was brought in from an ambulance and waited for a long time to be seen. I sat, doubled over and crying in the waiting room while I listened to front desk personnel talk about their lunch plans (one was going to get a real id-she shouted to her colleague as she was leaving). I was having pain in my lower abdomen and praise the lord it turned out to be a ruptured ovarian cyst and not something more serious like my appendix. One of my nurses was so rude and surly I told my husband we should just leave and try an urgent care or another er; but by this time, we had invested a lot of time in waiting to be seen. I will say that the last nurse we had as well as the last doctor (I was there during shift change) were both great. Even when I called to figure out how to get the medical records sent to my doctor, the operator was rude. I realize that hospitals are big businesses and they really only care about the bottom line...so I do not expect this review to bring about change...I just wanted to share my experience so other consumers can make informed decisions.
I will be coming back with a lawsuit it's been 2 hours and my 3rd time coming this week because nothing has changed with my pain and now I'm asking when will I see a doctor and I'm in here waiting in so much pain I could die
Best Delivery team ever!!! They took very good care of me during labor and after labor. I enjoyed the fake wine and the celebration cake. I love this hospital.
was sent here for a CT Scan, requiring an IV for contrast. The CT tech missed my blood vein, being sick and partially dehydrated, I understand, now i would expect she would try another vein or my other arm, but no here is where crazy begins, I have the needle in my arm, I am in intense pain, she is on the phone asking for a radiologist to check my arm, but it is after 500pm, there is No Radiologist! Next she calls for a doctor and I am told, doctor refused to check me, next she is on the phone again to ask for a nurse and guess what I am at a hospital No doctor and No nurse! I was offered 3 options one to go to Wake Med New Bern avenue where a doctor was waiting and staff was awesome!
I came in last night with a bad cut to my finger that wouldn't stop bleeding. I was dressed right away to put pressure on the wound. Then in an hour I was called back and saw by a PA, Ryan, who was so helpful and very attentive along with my nurse. They did an amazing job to stop the bleeding! They were very kind, patient and attentive here and very quick to help me. It was the best hospital experience I ever had and gave me faith in doctors again. I will be coming back if I need any help. Thank you for all you did to stop the bleeding and to be so comforting and reassuring. One nurse even gave me a hug and was very compassionate--she felt like a friend or a family member. That's how I felt treated. I hope you all know that your work does matter to me and all you do to help people with so much stress and lack of sleep. I can only imagine your lives and the sacrifices you all make. Thank you for all that you do for your patients.
We had a wonderful and memorable experience at this hospital when delivering our daughter recently. We were always treated thoughtfully by the nursing staff, and I was impressed with how patient and helpful the nurses were. They were all also knowledgeable on so many subjects, and were able to help with many things from lactation to swaddling. We were especially grateful to Melissa C who worked with us overnight...she had a great sense of humor and helped us in some of our more stressful moments!
My god this is usually a pretty good hospital. Last I had to take my wife there for treatment. Got in to the er but waited for hours and never seen a doctor
I had to visit the ER with for a bad cut to one of my finger and was seen fairly quickly and was on my way stitched up. However the price for that was outrageous. It was nearly $5000 for a room with a chair and another $2000 for the doctor. I will definitely question how bad an injury is in the future or just go somewhere else.
My beautiful granddaughter was born there on Feb. 21st. from the OB triage area to the birthing room and then to the floor was an amazing experience. The receptionist staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The cafeteria staff were terrific...very pleasant. Wake North OB nurses...EXCEPTIONAL! Every nurse was friendly, informative, helpful...but most importantly made us all feel welcomed and part of a family. This was truly a wonderful experience. Dr Evans was terrific in delivering my granddaughter. I'd really like to give my daughter's primary nurse a special mention...DeeDee you were awesome! Every expectant mom should have you for a nurse. Thank you WakeMed North for this exceptional experience!
I would like to explain my one star first and foremost not all the employees here are bad some nurses and doctors really care. But the one nurse I got on my visit to the ER was not at all nice nor did she care at all about me as a patient the actual doctor who saw me was great he truly did what was in his reach to find the cause to my pain but the nurse really said something really offensive to me as she was handing me the discharge papers that really has me concern on what we as patients are supposed to do when we are in pain or have a emergency situation because according to her if you go to the emergency room every several months thats a bad thing and I am literally saying a visit every 5 to 6 months it s not like she said it because I have been there every month and each time as been for different reasons but according to her that s a bad thing I told her so when your primary doctor says if it s after hours and you are in pain or have a fever go to the emergency room what do I tell him I can not because one nurse said I could not ?? like she made me feel like I was a bother to her by coming to seek help for my pain. She had a bad attitude from the start I can only imagine she has said the same comments to others if her taking care of patients makes her miserable than why did she become a nurse??? Again the doctor who saw me was great the radiology staff great but that one nurse is the sole blame for my 1 star!!
Came In around 8:45pm on a Thursday night, was not busy went back within 10 minutes or so. Got to room, gave urine sample, vitals checked and seen doctor within the first 30 minutes. The nurse and doctor were very polite and they listened to my symptoms and concerns. The room was clean and spacious, CT tech was nice and even transport was nice! Had a small mishap with inserting IV but she went and got another nurse and she inserted within seconds, the first nurse was apologetic and attentive. Over all exepexperice is the best i have had at any hospital in surrounding area.
I love this ER department it was fast and friendly and great customer experience and the the supervisor on duty was very Pleasant to me and my daughter and the doctor He new just what was going on so thank you to the( ERD ) emergency department
Wake med er sucks the wait time is so ridiculous that u could probablydie waiting to be seen. Never go here for anything plz visit duke hospital down the street it's 10 times faster. And the only reason I'm here is because I had a doctor's visit which led to the er smh HELP ME PLEASE!!!!
On August 20-21, we went in for my child to be delivered Lucas. We had a amazing nurse Sandi, she was so wonderful, she took the time to care for us, and she went beyond her duties to make sure that we were fine, she noticed that we were tired and she put it on her to take care of our baby to let us get some rest. We could have not asked for anybody better.
I was pretty disappointed upon leaving this place. I came to WakeMed because fiberglass got in my eye and my eyelid was clearly infected. The doctor I saw was friendly, but simply brushed my concerns off and said there was nothing that could be done and sent me on my way with no treatment at all. As my eyelid's condition continued to worsen I decided I needed to see a specialist. The specialist I saw immediately said I needed to be on antibiotics and a steroid cream when he saw how infected my eyelid looked. He also mentioned that he has never seen the specific infection I had go away on it's own. Upon taking my antibiotics my eyelid started to reduce swelling rapidly and the pain went away. My eyelid is still healing, I just wish I would've gotten the medicine I needed after dropping so much money to come to Wake Med, instead of leaving with no answers or help. The front desk staff were very nice and friendly and I was seen quickly.
Took my 10 year old son in for a cut on his foot. PA said it didn't need stitches. They put ointment and a bandage on it and told us he was fine to walk out. By the time we got home his foot foot was bleeding so bad the bandage was completely saturated and blood was dripping out. Definitely do not recommend this hospital.
This is probably the worst er ever. Last night my boyfriend went to the hospital for a 103 fever and insanely swollen tonsils he was told by the most illeterate doctor that he had a virus. Well we go home and put him on all the medicines that they have prescribed and he is still running a high fever. So I took him to wake med main and he was taken back immediately no wait and was given the best care of treatment and they did not beat around the bush went straight to trying to solve the problem and not just treating the symptoms to get him out quicker. He was diagnosed with tonsilitis which does not just develop over a matter of 12 hours. Thanks to the most illerate and slowest medical team at wake med north my boyfriend had to endure a lot more pain then necessary if would have been treated properly so not recommend this hospital at all.
Waited five hours to teleconference with a doctor who spent 10 minutes with me, and was charged $5,000 for the privilege. Worst hospital I've ever been to.
Wife has been sitting in the er for almost 3 hrs and still hasnt seen a doctor. Dont come to a hospital that wont treat its patients. They just sit outside the rooms having conversations instead of making sure people are ok. Never coming back to this hospital.
I delivered my son at this hospital this year in July . The nurses on the labor and delivery floor went over and beyond for me . They did everything they could have to make me comfortable, I also had an amazing mid wife . They were all truly amazing! Then once I delivered and went to the other room after I delivered I was met with another set of nurses that I thought were just as amazing as my labor and delivery nurses ! Truly am thankful for those nurses . After I left the hospital the nurses sent me a card which just put icing on top of the cake for me . Just shows that they truly care for their patients. I would recommend this hospital to my friends and family ! Truly deserve a 10 star rating !
BEST experience ever!!! Incredible staff, doctors, nurses! Food was amazing, rooms were huuge, everything was new and clean. We felt like we delivered out baby in a spa!! Unbelievable quality and care!!!!
I just delivered here July 4th and must have had the A team on staff that day. Everyone in labor delivery were fantastic and on it. My nurse Cheryl was amazing and with me from the moment I entered triage until I gave birth. The midwife Dedra had also been with me from the very beginning (for my prenatal care) and I was estatic to have her on call for the delivery of my first child. I was scared but at ease with Dedra and Cheryl. However, every nurse, pediatrician, nurse practitioner and lactation consultant who assisted me in the recovery wing we're equally amazing. I'm glad I choose Wakemed North for my prenatal and delivery services and I plan to for future deliveries.
Great service! Also the rooms are big, comfy and the food was pretty good too...as far as hospital food goes.
By far the best experience EVER when delivering a baby!!! The L&D staff were exceptional and helped coach me the whole way. The nurses on the third floor were amazing and so kind and willing to help me with whatever I needed. Even the staff in the cafeteria were amazing. All around this was such a pleasant experience and i can not say enough nice things about the staff here. My baby is perfect due to their care and expertise
Worst experience of my life. Wouldn t recommend this terrible hospital to anyone. I delivered on 12/10/18. My daughter was 6 weeks early and my water broke on a Saturday. They kept her in until Monday. They should have sent me to the big wake med bc they were not equipped for that early of a baby. When my daughter was born they had to do an emergency c section due to her heart rate dropping. They rushed me out of my room to do the c section and made my husband go to the waiting room. They never went and got him and I kept asking for him and they said they couldn t find him. He was in the waiting room the entire time where they told him to go. I was scared to death. Once my daughter arrived the first thing the said to me was were so sorry and rushed my daughter off. No one told me what was wrong other than she had chromosomal abnormalities. I thought she had Down syndrome or something. They finally told me she had all these issues. Long forehead, flat eyes etc... they took her to the nicu there and kept her. We only got to see her once a few hours later. Then the next day we were sent to unc, which was amazing. They were a million times better. They immediately told us that my daughter looked as if nothing was wrong but would do testing to confirm. After a few hours we were told she was perfect, just a preemie. So basically wake med north told us wrong. It was the scariest thing I ve ever been trough. They need to stop diagnosing issues that they are not skilled enough to diagnose.
I delivered my baby here and the care I received was excellent. The nurses were very patient and considerate and did a great job. Around 10-12 nurses were assigned over a period of 5 days and all of them were perfect. My whole experience ,which I thought was gonna be traumatising was indeed a very pleasant one. Even the folks from the cafeteria depr were amazing providing the yummiest food around the clock. This place is great and I can't wait to go back for my next baby.
Walk in I was greeted by the public officer and the register. I then sat for 5 minutes we where triage to a room. Nurse came within minutes enough said, professional an excellent staff WakeMed North rocks! This facility is a model that all ER should model. I know each day is a different day for each facility........GREAT SERVICE!!!!!!
I had my baby at wake med north women's hospital. It was the best I highly recommend it. The staff from the nurses to the doctors to the food service was excellent. Special thank you to Dr.Kennedy, Dr, Jarvis, Nurse Jackie, Nurse Rhonda, Nurse Tiffany and I am forgetting the others so sorry but basically all the staff from the 26th of Nov 3:30am to the 28th Nov 5:00pm throughout my stay were very professional and caring. The room was very spacious and clean and quiet. They understood I was a 1st time mom and answered all my silly questions. The lactation consultant though had an attitude but was good too. They even followed up after couple days to see how you are doing. If you are going to have a baby have it here. Thank you once again!
Quickest ER experience EVER. I went on a Friday evening. After getting signed in I went straight into triage then into my room. Staff was very friendly and easy to talk to. Very happy patient.
I have delivered 2 babies at this hospital and I cannot speak more highly of my experience. I see the doctors at the Wakemed North Physician's pavilion (primarily Dr. Kennedy) and I am always treated with great care. Dr. Kennedy & the delivery nurses went ABOVE AND BEYOND during my last (somewhat complicated) delivery, and I am so grateful. I tell every pregnant gal I know to deliver here! (In fact, despite how hard labor is, after the great experience with my first pregnancy & delivery, I was almost looking forward to doing it again! Hah!) Highly recommend.
I just recently gave birth here 3 weeks ago. The staff and nurses were excellent, however the doctors care isn't the best! Luckily I ended up with a doctor whom I like very much and trusted to deliver my baby here safely. I did a survey regarding an experience I had at a prenatal doctors visit. I asked for management who contacted me. I missed that call, but indeed did call back but did not hear from management again. Some doctors at the facility lack compassion and I often felt quite ridiculed or intolerable. They didn't did not care about my emotional well being in which I visited the office during my pregnancy for prenatal depression, in which I have a history of depression . These doctors do not in fact need to be doctors if they are not wanting to or have a passion for helping and caring for others , let alone any patients!
Worst damn hospital on planet earth. Waited over 5 hours in the emergency room. They really only have one doctor on night shift. What kind of hospital is this?!!! My Daughter could have died because she had the flu. Shut this hospital down.
I visited Levine Hearing after getting my first exam somewhere else. I wanted a solid second opinion. From the moment I called to make the appointment I felt comfortable and important to their office.
Great friendly hospital with great care! From the moment we walked in, all the staff was great. Sara and Bridgette and the rest of the staff that I can t at this moment remember their name....Thank you so much for the great care. You guys rock!!!
Where to start, by far the worst experience I ve ever had in l&d and I ve had 6 children. My doctors were excellent duke heritage but my by saw the wake mess less since we live so far away Fayetteville nc. First they accused us of having a drug baby with a negative mother and negative baby. Then requested a meconium test which also came back negative still they told us she would have to stay and was being assessed for nas. Of course baby never showed the first sign of withdrawal. Day 4 and jaundice test was 16.6 was told needed phototherapy. Told by on call np that baby would be tested again at 6 am and if results came down or didn t rise we would be discharged. 10 am we were ready to leave at that point they brought in another np, social worker, and a nurse and informed us that we would have to sign her out against ama even though we had an appointment at 1 with our peds for another test. Was informed Insirance would not pay for the stay, they would be contacting cps and that we didn t have the right to transfer care. Agreed to let baby stay for another test at 1pm. The on call np had the nerve to call our pediatrician and told them we had signed our daughter out against ama and that we had to bring her to the appointment today when I was told to cancel the appointment and make one for the following day. This has just been a huge mess and have never been treated any such way in my life. Stay far away from this hospital, for they lied on us to our ped all while baby was in newborn nursery saying we had signed her out against ama. Chapel hill is by far a way better place to have your baby. BEWARE!!!!
In April 2019, I had surgery at WakeMed North. I found my experience to be exceptional! Dr. Benoit-Wilson and her team not only made sure that I was well-taken care off, but every question that I had about my surgery was answered in a way that brought peace to my mind, and hope to my heart.
Here is the list of amazing people who welcomed me, and cared for me in the beginning, middle, and end of my surgery week. Yolanda, who greeted me, the fantastic nurses who made me smile on my worst days, Marlene, Maria, Julie, Rachel, Valerie, Loretta, Becky, Natalie, Madison, the kindest male nurses ever who came to help, Raven and Seth ( WakeMed Raleigh), the anesthesiologist and anesthetist Shawn, Gina, and Dr. Roedner.
I also have to give a shout out to the sweetest nurses who made my follow up visit to WakeMed North so pleasant. Megan was excellent at calming my nerves at my follow up appointment. Her joy and laughter made me feel a lot better as she talked me through the steps of my visit. Sara, had such a gentle touch when taking out my staples, and making sure I was comfortable. Tina was great about answering my questions and concerns, and Jenny helped me get all of my paperwork together before scheduling my surgery.
I can t thank everyone enough for all they did to make sure I had a safe and memorable experience at WakeMed North! I highly recommend going there for all of your women and family needs you won't regret it!
My elderly neighbor was brought there recently and I just wanted to say that this was a great experience. She was so kindly care for and treated. Thank you to Michelle, Gwen, and Anne for all of her wonderful care!
Just had my little premie here and the team was wonderful! This was my first child and they are taking great care of me and my little girl! I am Very grateful!
I will never step foot in Wake Med North Campus again! Wake Med Raleigh will always be my first choice from now!!! Friday night, the way we were treated at Wake Med North versus Wake Med Raleigh were night and day. I will never go to Wake Med North again. Extremely satisfied, treated above what is required, and I felt safe at Wake Med Raleigh.
The hospital is the worst never again the staff here are useless and rude they just come for the money they are so snobby and they are lazy you are better off delivering your own baby then to come to this piece of trash they should be ashame of there selves this wake med needs new staff immediately
The three stars are for the phenomenal nursing staff that took very good care of me. I do have a discrepancy I wasn't able to drive myself to the hospital because I wasn't feeling good and so after I was discharged a little after 1am and most of the taxi cab companies are closed and so I waited in the front lobby only to discover the two front desk registration clerks to be literally making fun of sick people who aren't feeling well, complaining about some of the patients and even made fun of me because of my larger body stature & I do feel it's very disappointing and extremely unethical to treat people in this manner especially if it's hospital? There was a gentleman that worked in the back and was talking with one of the front desk ladies and then they started laughing hysterically and it's just simply sad. This will definitely be my last visit here!! I do plan to contact Hospital Administrator and inform them of this disgusting behavior!!
Shantel the ultrasound tech was beyond helpful and amazing. Although she couldn't answer any of my questions my major concern was experiencing an awful miscarriage. She told me she couldn't show me nor tell me about my baby. But she assured me I'll be delivering a healthy baby. She felt so bad that I was being mislead by Mariah Parham ,I thank her for her services. Amazing women and beautiful soul!
This review is for the ER, not the hospital in general. Our son was born there and we had some wonderful doctors and nurses.
However, the ER is a different story. Every doctor there just wants to give you a CT scan whatever you re going in for. Your ear hurts? Let s give you a CT scan. Have a fever? Let s give you a CT scan. You just had a CT scan? Let s take another one just in case.
Why is that? Well, it s a quick way to make money for them.
If you re going in and feel strongly that you don t need a CT scan, ask for another opinion. My wife got two when we went, we questioned it, the doctor insisted, they found nothing, an ultrasound could have been done instead (probably much cheaper). You can say no to doctors, they re not God.
They have no problem billing you without even getting close to fixing the problem. I have been here multiple times either myself or with family requiring medical attention and they are very quick to minimize prior to investigation. I won t go into confidential medical details, but I recently went to a different hospital for something that had been misdiagnosed and mistreated twice at Wake Med North and found out the true severity of the ailment. I cannot even put into words the resentment I hold towards this establishment for its treatment of my loved ones.
Unreal. For such a nice place you d think they d have the wisdom to hire knowledgeable AND nice people. These are the rudest nurses and front office staff. I guess they are there only for the money and not to actually help people. I felt like I was at the DMV to be honest. They have no sympathy for patients and not only that, they seem like they absolutely hate their jobs. Forget this place. I m going to do some research and find a better place to take myself and my kids.
After still sitting in the waiting room 3 hours later and who knows when I'll actually get seen. There are people playing music and a group of drunks laughing like they are still at the bar (after one of them feel down drunk and hurt herself). The security guard (who recently woke up from a short nap) finally told them to quiet down but acted like he was scared so I had to yell at them. This has been the most ridiculous experience! I am here because I need medical attention and it is unbecoming to me that people are so inconsiderate! I will definitely never be coming back here and would not recommend this emergency room if you have a life threatening condition as you are likely to die waiting.
Had a late night run to ER~ went exceptional! Fantastic patient care, promptly seen and attended to by front desk staff and ER team. Very clean, friendly, caring staff. Highly recommend this hospital. All done within 2 hours.....in a snow storm.....after midnight.....life is back on track!
I had knee replacement o 12/4. Every single staff member has been fantastic. I ve been in 4 different hospitals in my life and this one is far better than ANY including Rex and Wake Med Main.
My wife had our baby in wakemed north in December, the staff from doctors to nurses are super awesome, I'm sorry I can't remember the names, but from the core of my heart thank you all.
Do not go to this emergency room unless you want to die on a table while the staff talks about their weekend plans. Go to a real hospital and find doctors and nurses that are qualified and care enough to at least try to save your life.
I went here at 1:45 am because of my breathing my chest was really tight , barely could breathe and I didn't get seen until 4:54 am this morning almost died trying to breathe. I had to get a little demanding in order to get seen. I don't understand why it took this long, especially when I already couldn't breathe when I went in. Not saying it's terrible service I'm just saying it's a rediculous waiting time. What would have they done if I passed out or died waiting for them to get seen for my breathing ? It would be a law suit! So I just think people that can be seen easily and get out to help others that's what they should do.
Am an African man,and my wife was pregnant so we chose to come here, the nurses are so loving and caring people, they are doing their best for their patients, the attention is enough It's just love all the nurses here have. These is a highly recommended hospital mostly for pregnant women. It's feel like you are home. All the nurses that work here plz these is from my Heart I wanna give y'all a big thank you and may JEHOVAH BLESS y'all. Now am a father of a healthy baby boy and wife thank you once again you all are our heroes.
As the old adage goes never judge a book by its cover. My wife and I were so excited that we had a hospital close to home, even taking birthing classes there. The nursing staff was ok, but I am glad my newborn is at UNC. Our experience after my wife went into labor was absolutely terrible and my child will never ever be a patient at WakeMed again.
I had surgery here by Dr. Andrea Crane. I could not be happier with the care provided by my Dr. and the staff at this facility. I have had surgery at other facilities in the triangle, but the staff and facilities at Wake Med North Hospital far exceeded my expectations. I felt like I was in a motel room vs a hospital room. The staff was very attentive to my needs post op. Thank you, Natalie, Terrie, Julia and John and of course Dr. Crane for making this most anxious time in my life a lot more bearable. It's comforting to know that we have such excellent health care in our community!!!
I went to the ER with severe ear pain and vertigo. I was told to go straight to the hospital from urgent care. I couldn't barely walk or open my eyes and my ear was completely crusted over with scabs. The first doctor to my room/cubicle was completely rude and dismissive about my condition. He was told to get a sample from my ear and have it tested. He told the other Dr. he would but didn't need to since he already knew what was wrong with me. I was swiftly dismissed with an antibiotic perscription and was told to come back if I started to lose my vision. They wrote on my discharge papers that I had swimmers ear. Two days later I was no better and all of a sudden my face was completely paralyzed on the right side. Turns out that I had shingles and now I have Bell's Palsy. If they tested my ear why did I not get a call to change my medication before my condition worsened. Now I just received a $1000 bill from them. For what?? All I have to say is please do not go to this hospital if your life depends on it. **An update for this after a month. I still have Bell's Palsy and I hadn't received my total bill yet in my first post. The Bill was much closer to $1500. and turns out this is the cost just to walk in the door and wait over 2 hours to be seen for five minutes. They had a doctor review our case to see if it was handled correctly and if the bill was justified. He decided their negligence in my case is why people pay them so much money and I should pay also. He said I should have come back for another bill when I got worse so that they had a second chance to get it right. Worst hospital ever. At the end of the day. Know that you are walking into this place to get robbed and you are going to feel a lot worse when you leave. Do yourself a favor and drive to Rex or Duke.
WakeMed North is the site my doctor uses for orthopedic surgeries. I have had multiple surgeries at this location and each time I leave very happy with the care given from each individual I encounter, from registration to post-op care, the team is wonderful. I wish I could remember everyone's name to give them the credit deserved. The site was clean, the staff pleasant, professional, knowledgeable, and really good at making you feel at ease. Surgery is always a stressful event and to feel not only cared for but respected throughout the process helped to diminish the anxiety that can build during an event such as this. Thanks to all involved in my care on 5/26/20, job really well done! Most definitely recommend this site and staff for quality care!
Top notch facility! I have had family members utilize the ER, and I delivered my baby here. The staff is absolutely wonderful. Every detail is thought out, especially on the L/D side. Have to give a shout out to the mother-baby nurses (especially Laurie!), and Jackie, the lactation consultant. They kept me sane when there was a lot going on with our baby. I can t express enough gratitude for them!
Nurses were very rude. Guess they have seen to many minor MVA s. As a MA, thought they would be more patient with the patient ., guess not. Guess I should try Duke or UNC.
Over the past several years, my Primary Care Physician has been Dr. Dominick Trapani at WakeMed North. During this time it s been refreshing to be able to sit down and discuss my health issues, without rushing through the process. Dr.Trapani listens and he responds. I live very near a WakeMed facility. I chose to drive an extra 20 minutes to get to Dr. Trapani s office.
All of the doctors and midwives here are fantastic. But I've got to give a shout out to Sally Dedra. Dedra is THE BEST. She always sees me quickly and takes the time to answer all of my questions (which can be numerous). She never makes me feel rushed. She is sympathetic, understanding, and very knowledgeable. She is definitely in the right field of work and I'm beyond happy with the care she provides. I cannot recommend her enough!
Wake Med North is a quiet, efficient hospital with skilled, efficient and caring nurses and staff. The rooms are hotel like and well kept. If one has to be in the hospital, this is one I recommend. I commend nurses, Kyra, Veronica, Shon, Jennifer, Jasmine, and all others who were so compassionate, skilled and caring. The Drs. who are to be commended are: Dr. Chowdhury and Dr. Azzi who were willing to take time to discuss my situation, make recommendations, and spend time with me.
Nothing but great things to say about the ED! Had to come in for a head trauma for our son, and the docs and nurses were amazing. They took their time to explain everything they were going to do with my overly anxious and extremely nervous boy. They also kept me calm as his Mom, as this was our first head injury. Thank you from the bottom, of this already frazzled, momma s heart!
My wife came here for CHEST PAINS! Where we come from, any case with chest pains is IMMEDIATELY taken over anyone else. Not at this place!!! They didn't even take her vitals til about 30 mins AFTER arrival! The girl that came in AFTER us was taken back before my wife!
Don t Go Here for Emergency. They don t care if you are in pain. Want you to come in Ambulance if you want to be seen immediately. Even with the waiting room empty they didn t see my 70 year old dad with severe pain for 1 hour. We had to leave the place for Duke Health where we were seen right away.
This place is simply amazing. Everything's clean and brand new, the rooms are huge and the staff great. Everyone took wonderful care of me and my newborn from the moment I walked in to the moment me and my son got in the car
This used to be a good hospital about 10 years ago.. people are rude don t get in any hurry to help people. The doctors just make diagnosis without even running test. I left feeling worse then I came. Why would you get in the service of helping people if you are just going to be rude to them. Doctors are supposed to be compassionate loving people?!? Why did you become a doctor?!? To help people or just for the money?!? You should be loving, caring, nurturing and compassionate to your patients. Thats what a doctor is. You are there to help people that are ill!!! Don t become a doctor if you don t like helping people. I could name names and say much more, but will leave it at that. Go to the main Wake Med if you can they still show compassion there.
Don't come here if it's an emergency. I've worked at half a dozen hospitals. This one is understaffed and I would wager being chronically overworked is why everyone seems to phone it in. Especially avoid a charge nurse named Gwen. Nurse Rachet has nothing on her.
I had knee replacement surgery here a few months ago...several months after my husband also had surgery there. In both instances the care was spectacular. Nurses and other staff were all attentive and very kind. Even the food was good, which seems like a small thing but it made the stay memorable. Highly recommend.
I've dealt with this hospital for the past 3 years. All starting when I conceived my son. The staff was nice until I had my son. After giving birth to my son they had a case worker come in my room for me to sign paper work, my fiance had to search down the staff supervisor so he could sign his name on HIS son's birth certificate. None of the NICU staff (except for Kirklighter and a nurse named Jessica who works in the SICC) listened to what the father of my child had to say nor me for that matter, treated him like he wasn't there. Every doctors visit my son goes to, I had to fill out a questionnaire about my sons skills and behavior, while that wasn't the issue, it was when y'all's SICC Doctors/nurses kept trying to set him up with different physical therapists and appointments, even when I told them that he'll go home and do just about everything on the questionnaire but only when he wants to, the nurses still proceeded to argue with me and when I came back with "of the answers I wrote down, which of them makes you think my son needs these appointments" no one could answer my question. I get asked "where did this scar come from" "how did he get this scar" and I have to explain- even to y'all's pediatric center, that the NICU wasn't gentle enough with him. I've also had experience with your OB/GYN team to remove the birth control out of my arm, I spent over an hour there for it not to be removed, they even tried to take it out of the wrong place, which I tried to explain to y'all's Doctors/nurses but they don't listen, and think they know it all, to basically be charged a $3 bill for you to mutilate my arm. By the way I went to Rex (8/24) and got my birth control removed without a problem and I was in and out in less than 40 minutes. Dr Kumar confirmed that whoever tried to remove it before, tried to remove it from the wrong place and went in too deep. I told this Dr the same thing I told the other one, I will never go back to WakeMed!!
