If you visit Zwolle this will be the place you definitely need to see. Besides a bookstore you can have drinks and a high quality lunch. On regularly basis they also have cultural experiences like a concert or poetry or a play. For me this is Book Heaven

Incredibly beautiful, modern bookstore. It is a pity that the appearance of the church is "modernized" (stained glass, for example), so that the church feeling has disappeared. Does have a nice atmosphere!

In this digital age nothing better than a bookstore

Converting a beautiful store with a huge selection, you don't really need more. They will have most recently published works in stock and much more. Some days it can be very busy, but I think Waanders can't do much about it.

The church is beautiful and so is the bookshop, but the accompanying waitresses of the restaurant are very pusher and I think you prefer to get out the door as soon as possible for the next load of customers who can use your seat.

The Broerenkerk is a monumental building that is now used as Waanders in de Broeren. After the church was no longer used, it was extensively renovated into a bookstore with a nice coffee shop with the possibility of having lunch. The converted church has become a very beautiful bookstore and I am not exaggerating when I say that this is one of the most beautiful bookshops in the Netherlands.
There is also a stage for all kinds of small performances by artists / musicians.
All in all, worth a visit when in Zwolle.
