My fiance and I stayed here Saturday February 15th, 2014 as a Valentines Day get away. We were happy right away as we were upgraded to a corner king room. Unfortunately it only disappointed from there. Two of the room's lamps were burned out. The water pressure was low. The iphone dock was only for the old iphones. The TV remote had dead batteries. And in the morning there was no hot water. Also, in the middle of the night there was a couple that decided to scream at each other in the hallway and in their room while slamming doors. I understand that's not the hotel's fault and security eventually came up, but it just added to a very disappointing stay. This was our first experience staying at The W, something we both looked forward to, but unfortunately we were extremely let down.

Beautiful venue, very hip looking, and great rooms. Unfortunately there are some add ons, the most annoying one being a charge for internet if you want that. That should come standard in my opinion on this age.

This place is fancy & will easily rip you off. Workers dressed professionally but their attitude is ugly. Beautiful rooms but I can hear the elevator going up & down all night!!!! Bed is also a bit hard. The water in the shower isn t hot at all either. I ve been to cheaper places with soundproof rooms, cozy bed & hot water. Go else where.

I didn't stay at the hotel, but the bar area was very nice. The staff were very helpful, and the atmosphere was very funky - lots of changing colors and kinda wild decorations. The cocktails were good, but wuite expensive for Minneapolis ($16/drink).

I ended up dealing with my PTSD!! because of this Hotel! I thought that the Foshay Hotel was great at first. I loved the atmosphere and the rooms. However, later in the evening....around 10pm. I went to the bar and asked a very simple question and a favor that was totally within their grasp to complete. The lady working there saw my attire and yelled at me to take my request to the front desk. Not only that, but she grabbed my arm and walked me out. I had done nothing but ask a question, however, my casual attire of jeans must not have been acceptable. I am fatally sick. I have severe pain all over my body. That woman who worked at the bar actually hurt my arm...tremendously. Also, because of the physical touch and me not being strong enough to do anything about it...brought back a lot of memories that I try to forget. I ended up crying for a bit in my room...which actually was my bff s Bachelorette Party. I like this Hotel but stay away from the women working in the bar area!!!

The W Foshay is a lovely hotel. We are staying in a "fantastic" king suite. Very spacious living area, separate bedroom, and huge bathroom, including a nice soaking tub with a city view, and a separate rain shower. Very nice Body Bliss amenities. My only negative feedback is towards the bed. Definitely not a Heavenly bed! The location is perfect. Lots of shopping and restaurants all around. Also near light rail stops. Perfect!

Definitely an experience staying in one of the oldest skyscrapers in Minneapolis. Overall it was a pretty nice place to stay. Check in was suppose to be at 3pm. Our room was not ready for several hours after. Based on some other reviews I've read that is fairly common there. Staff was easy to work with and offered a different room which wasn't a corner room but higher up. A decent compromise to get a room faster.

The best place to see the city views, the place was big and fancy. They also have a very nice club and wines. This hotel also serves variety of events, and one of the oldest hotel in Minneapolis as well. I went there for photography event, and it turned out great. It was very snowy but still great. The best place for photography, and staffs are very friendly. You have to pay for entrance if you want to take pictures or see the landscapes, 10 $ something.

If you're searching for in "the moment" places to stay while you're in town, then the W is where it's at.

High society, social butterflies, the guy next door - - the usual would be heiress' - - all flock here.

A comfortable, well appointed - - swanky sort of hotel that accommodates to anyone with a discerning taste.

We went to the viewing deck on the top floor. The celings were rather low, though being over six foot tall didn't help and it was still nothing terrible. The view was interesting, great place to go if you want to get a good look at down town Minneapolis.

Meh... there are better hotels in downtown for less money. They over charge for EVERYTHING. Watch out for the prices on the room service! After paying $100 for a burger, salad, and 1 cup of soup, I would expect the service to be on par with a ritz Carlton.

Their motto is supposed to be whenever whatever , but getting a simple toothpaste was impossible. We called two times and it never came. Fortunately someone in our group had it in the next room.

Ladies be warned, they do not have shower caps.

We ate at Keys Cafe inside The Foshay. It was amazing! Definitely the best pecan pancakes in town, and we've been to most of the restaurants that serve brunch in Minneapolis. Everything is great on the menu, and a lot of it (if not all of it) is homemade. From the hollandaise to the jam, it's quite good, although I wouldn't recommend the mimosas.

Clean, beautiful room and great customer service! Would like other options for the shower head, though. Rain drop isn't my favorite. Room was also smaller than I anticipated for the price, but perhaps just bigger city pricing.

Attended the bubble ball at the Foshay for a New Years Eve event and stayed there that night. Great service, very nice room, complimentary drinks and tickets to the event were provided. The event was packed and difficult to get drinks, but overall a blast and a fabulous hotel!

Very poorly designed rooms. Many inconveniences in the name of aesthetics. Coffee machine looks cute but not at all intuitive, windows behind the couch makes it difficult to close the curtains at night, pointless wooden bump sticking up out of the floor near the fridge (my two-year-old tripped on this and fell), cabinets look like drawers with doors opening downwards - very counterintuitive. And every Hotel employee is trying to sell something or the other.

On the plus side it in a central location.

Stay here if convenient central location is important, and even then, only if the room is available for cheap

a photographer's dream location, 27th floor observation deck with gates rather than glass windows! 360 degree views of all the iconic Minneapolis skyscrapers and you can even see distant St. Paul to the east. and only a 10 entry fee!! but call ahead, they often have issues with the elevator, and it's only open until 5PM, so go in December for best sunset/twilight shots!
