My fiance and I stayed here Saturday February 15th, 2014 as a Valentines Day get away. We were happy right away as we were upgraded to a corner king room. Unfortunately it only disappointed from there. Two of the room's lamps were burned out. The water pressure was low. The iphone dock was only for the old iphones. The TV remote had dead batteries. And in the morning there was no hot water. Also, in the middle of the night there was a couple that decided to scream at each other in the hallway and in their room while slamming doors. I understand that's not the hotel's fault and security eventually came up, but it just added to a very disappointing stay. This was our first experience staying at The W, something we both looked forward to, but unfortunately we were extremely let down.
Ate breakfast at the restaurant. Meal was good portion and tasted good.
The only negative thing was the cost of the WiFi. But i took it as a sign to not be connected.
Great customer service ! Love it !!
Room , resturant & location made my stay for my business trip more successful!!!
Definitely coming back ..
Incredibly nice locale and historical building, but I was surprised at how run down it felt. They're overdo for a refresh!
The staff is always knowledgeable and friendly, and everything about this hotel is really nice.
Beautiful building in a great spot downtown. Helpful and friendly staff with multiple dining options in the Foshay building.
It was nice service, facilities, room, food, everything was great
Beautiful venue, very hip looking, and great rooms. Unfortunately there are some add ons, the most annoying one being a charge for internet if you want that. That should come standard in my opinion on this age.
This place is fancy & will easily rip you off. Workers dressed professionally but their attitude is ugly. Beautiful rooms but I can hear the elevator going up & down all night!!!! Bed is also a bit hard. The water in the shower isn t hot at all either. I ve been to cheaper places with soundproof rooms, cozy bed & hot water. Go else where.
Omg it's staff is great .food awesome.there dacing area is rocking.very very nice
I didn't stay at the hotel, but the bar area was very nice. The staff were very helpful, and the atmosphere was very funky - lots of changing colors and kinda wild decorations. The cocktails were good, but wuite expensive for Minneapolis ($16/drink).
Keys cafe is a lovely art deco cafe with great food and bakery, and a full bar.
Had an amazing stay here with my Husband for our honeymoon. It was a blast. Vibes were great the second you walk in the door! We are off to see the Great Lakes but can't Thank you enough for such a pleasant time! :) Definitely recommend Manny's too, the food is superior.
One of the front desk clerks was having a terrible day and it showed. It put a damper on my mood, frankly. The other clerk was much more pleasant. The room and service were otherwise great.
I ended up dealing with my PTSD!! because of this Hotel! I thought that the Foshay Hotel was great at first. I loved the atmosphere and the rooms. However, later in the evening....around 10pm. I went to the bar and asked a very simple question and a favor that was totally within their grasp to complete. The lady working there saw my attire and yelled at me to take my request to the front desk. Not only that, but she grabbed my arm and walked me out. I had done nothing but ask a question, however, my casual attire of jeans must not have been acceptable. I am fatally sick. I have severe pain all over my body. That woman who worked at the bar actually hurt my arm...tremendously. Also, because of the physical touch and me not being strong enough to do anything about it...brought back a lot of memories that I try to forget. I ended up crying for a bit in my room...which actually was my bff s Bachelorette Party. I like this Hotel but stay away from the women working in the bar area!!!
I am absolutely in love with this place. The staff gives their best to make you feel like home!!
The stay was nice, but the bars were really trashy. I was disappointed.
Great hotel. Well decorated. The took excellent care of us.
Awesome location and cool property - especially if you're into local history. Very helpful staff.
The W Foshay is a lovely hotel. We are staying in a "fantastic" king suite. Very spacious living area, separate bedroom, and huge bathroom, including a nice soaking tub with a city view, and a separate rain shower. Very nice Body Bliss amenities. My only negative feedback is towards the bed. Definitely not a Heavenly bed! The location is perfect. Lots of shopping and restaurants all around. Also near light rail stops. Perfect!
We were upgraded to a larger king on the 22nd floor. Extra services were great!
Definitely an experience staying in one of the oldest skyscrapers in Minneapolis. Overall it was a pretty nice place to stay. Check in was suppose to be at 3pm. Our room was not ready for several hours after. Based on some other reviews I've read that is fairly common there. Staff was easy to work with and offered a different room which wasn't a corner room but higher up. A decent compromise to get a room faster.
Everything was perfect. Luxury hotel, comfortable bed. Ask for an expresso machine in your room.
So cozy! Only downside is that they charge $7 bucks just for bottle water! Plus side is the chicken down in the bar is PERFECT
Very unsafe. Room was broken into and items were stolen. Very unsettling experience working with management to try and rectify. Management was very dismissive. NEVER GOING BACK AGAIN.
The best place to see the city views, the place was big and fancy. They also have a very nice club and wines. This hotel also serves variety of events, and one of the oldest hotel in Minneapolis as well. I went there for photography event, and it turned out great. It was very snowy but still great. The best place for photography, and staffs are very friendly. You have to pay for entrance if you want to take pictures or see the landscapes, 10 $ something.
Stuffiest service i've ever experienced. My first time staying at a W for a business trip. Based on that experience I would never stay at a W Hotel again.
If you're searching for in "the moment" places to stay while you're in town, then the W is where it's at.
High society, social butterflies, the guy next door - - the usual would be heiress' - - all flock here.
A comfortable, well appointed - - swanky sort of hotel that accommodates to anyone with a discerning taste.
Great views from hotel rooms and nice hotel overall
We had stopped at th living room for a few drinks. We have been here before and enjoy coming. The service is quick and staff is friendly and approachable.
I come here often. Wonderful hotel #romantic #metime #weekendgetaway
Room was nice but I'm not used to having to pay for internet at hotels so that's why I rated 4 stars
Great Hotel
Great Staff
Great Facilities
Amazing Location in Downtown.
A beautiful historic icon in Minneapolis, merging the old and the new. It is the best of both worlds.
The tower is awesome it is the only building in Minneapolis that has an observation deck also never eat a filling meal and go to the observation deck using the elevator.
We went to the viewing deck on the top floor. The celings were rather low, though being over six foot tall didn't help and it was still nothing terrible. The view was interesting, great place to go if you want to get a good look at down town Minneapolis.
Went to the W for the NOH8 event, the venue was clean and well presented.
Meh... there are better hotels in downtown for less money. They over charge for EVERYTHING. Watch out for the prices on the room service! After paying $100 for a burger, salad, and 1 cup of soup, I would expect the service to be on par with a ritz Carlton.
Their motto is supposed to be whenever whatever , but getting a simple toothpaste was impossible. We called two times and it never came. Fortunately someone in our group had it in the next room.
Ladies be warned, they do not have shower caps.
Modern decor, good atmosphere and friendly staff. Highly recommend.
The Foshay is a night to remember..they treat you right and have a great environment. Its a great place to when its a special occasion. Love Love Love
Fun hotel. They didn't turn the room during my stay though.
Trendy hotel. Rooms aren't huge, but enough space. Wifi isn't free
Fancy hotel downtown. At night, lounge turns into da club.
Beautiful hotel that kept the art deco style of the original building. Staff was helpful and courteous.
We ate at Keys Cafe inside The Foshay. It was amazing! Definitely the best pecan pancakes in town, and we've been to most of the restaurants that serve brunch in Minneapolis. Everything is great on the menu, and a lot of it (if not all of it) is homemade. From the hollandaise to the jam, it's quite good, although I wouldn't recommend the mimosas.
Beautifu hotell, but no microwave in a suite is odd and inconvenient!
Nice stay, but the room was sub par. Great view but the room sucked. Plaster coming off the walls. Furniture was damaged. House keeping was not acceptable.
Clean, beautiful room and great customer service! Would like other options for the shower head, though. Rain drop isn't my favorite. Room was also smaller than I anticipated for the price, but perhaps just bigger city pricing.
Attended the bubble ball at the Foshay for a New Years Eve event and stayed there that night. Great service, very nice room, complimentary drinks and tickets to the event were provided. The event was packed and difficult to get drinks, but overall a blast and a fabulous hotel!
The service was great at this hotel and the rooms were clean as expected of a 5 star hotel.
Excellent staff at the bar but drink prices were steep compared to nearby bars
Very poorly designed rooms. Many inconveniences in the name of aesthetics. Coffee machine looks cute but not at all intuitive, windows behind the couch makes it difficult to close the curtains at night, pointless wooden bump sticking up out of the floor near the fridge (my two-year-old tripped on this and fell), cabinets look like drawers with doors opening downwards - very counterintuitive. And every Hotel employee is trying to sell something or the other.
On the plus side it in a central location.
Stay here if convenient central location is important, and even then, only if the room is available for cheap
a photographer's dream location, 27th floor observation deck with gates rather than glass windows! 360 degree views of all the iconic Minneapolis skyscrapers and you can even see distant St. Paul to the east. and only a 10 entry fee!! but call ahead, they often have issues with the elevator, and it's only open until 5PM, so go in December for best sunset/twilight shots!
Went to the top floor of the Foshay and saw the cities from above.
The room was impeccably clean, the view was amazing. The service was beyond helpful and polite, and I would definitely stay at the Foshay again and again.
Cool interior... Really appreciate their support for the lgbtq+ community
Great upscale place... Upscale prices too. Great room with mini bar and fridge full of drinks of all kinds. Restaurant and bar in the lobby. Beautifully decorated with a friendly staff.
GREAT date place! Had a blast here and at the Prohibition Bar.
