Very nice rooms, secure and safe hotel (key card access to all guest floors. Two bars in the hotel and in room dining is delicious. Perfect location downtown close to highways for easy access to shopping and more.

My fiancee and I are taking a little staycation here for the weekend and this is our experience so far:

The beds are super uncomfortable. The pillows are so squishy and lightweight that it's impossible to get elevation for your head. You just sink flat onto the bed. My shoulders and back are very sore this morning since I was practically sleeping on my arm.

It is very hot and the air conditioner clicks on every 5 minutes making it difficult to sleep in silence. It's very inconsistent and the lack of bed sheets makes it impossible to sleep comfortably.

The room is not how I pictured it from the ads and it's very small and disappointing. Also, we can hear everyone outside my door. Nothing is sound proof. We actually heard someone say, "This place sucks!" at midnight. We actually got a chuckle out of that, because he's not wrong!

The only thing nice about the hotel is where the location is, but that does not outweigh the poor experience.

This hotel is a perfect example where "You get what you pay for." is far from accurate. The W is a subpar 3 star hotel at most. Best Western will provide you better comfort than this. Don't waste your time and money here.

Nice views with mutilple windows. Couple newspapers available in lobby or if you want have it sent to your room included. But there s tons of alcohol drinks on/in the mini bar, more drinks than space. Had to empty it all out to put in our items. But surprisingly there s a bottle of complimentary water bottle. The coffee machine makes espresso not drip coffee. Shower is nice nice that you have access to coffee shops and sky ways without having to walk outside. Nice view of downtown when you go to 30th floor for history lesson. I guess I was expecting a bit more for the price to really wow me. Room was smaller than pictured (as usual)

I recently stayed at the W Minneapolis, where I have been staying every month for over a year when I come into town to meet with our clients. The service at the front desk and pretty much everywhere else in the hotel has been progressively getting worse over that time. Note: Manny's Steakhouse in the same building remains phenomenal in every way. Typically, when I check out, I use the car service at the hotel, having had good experience with the black SUVs they usually have right outside. When I was leaving on Friday afternoon (a little later than I typically leave; around 4pm), I walked out the front door to look for the usual black car, but found none. I looked right at the door people and they totally ignored me. One was pretending to lift imaginary weights or something. I saw a black SUV across the street, but wasn't sure if it was one of the hotel cars and wanted to ask the boys at the door if, in fact, it was so I could get to my flight. After standing right in front of them as they had a conversation amongst themselves for a minute, I spoke up and asked if there was a car available to take me to the airport. They seemed perplexed as to why I wasn't calling an Uber (everyone at this hotel seems to love uber...I have had bad luck, I guess, finding even Uber Black vehicles to be dirty and subpar with rude drivers that I can't understand). They said they can call the car over from across the street, but it costs $50 to the airport (Uber Black is $60). I said yes, call the car over, but as soon as they got around to it, the car was leaving to go elsewhere. I just gave up and walked to the Hilton (1 block away) and took one of their drivers (even though it was hardly a nice enough vehicle to be considered car service. Most likely a taxi driver in an old black car)

Lesson: stay at the Hilton or Ivy nearby. Better service all around and real doormen. The W has outlived it's poshness.

Update: I moved to the Minneapolis metro and no longer need to worry about which hotels are good! Whew!

The W had speedy valet with knowledgeable doorman. The 22nd floor king size room was modern with a great view of the city. The Prohibition had a great Tom Collins, but wasn't really spacious. The location was perfect for going out at night though. The club on the ground floor was quite busy as well. Overall an excellent experience.

W Minneapolis/ Foshay Towers Down Town Minneapolis was about the most expensive place that I have stayed with the worse service and worse room. I m a person that travels . It was $257.00 for a box that should have cost $98.00 a night at the most !!!...I was in the King Cornor...That was suppose to have a view !!!!! People please do not stay at this hotel. You can get much better for that Price with a nicer room, and Great Customer Service

I didn't stay at the hotel, but the bar area was very nice. The staff were very helpful, and the atmosphere was very funky - lots of changing colors and kinda wild decorations. The cocktails were good, but wuite expensive for Minneapolis ($16/drink).

Service is AMAZING. We were promptly checked in and room service was timely and delicious. Bed was extremely comfortable (did not want to leave!) and the views are impeccable. It was our first time at the Foshay and I can't wait to stay here again.

My wife and I stayed here a couple of weeks ago. After having a rough day, and traveling for 7 hours, we were welcomed in the early hours of the morning. To our surprise, there was a gift waiting for us in our room! The concierge, AlysshaRose Jordan, deserves the thanks the warm welcome.

The staff accommodated all of our needs without a second thought. They were all fantastic.

As far as the hotel goes, you can't find a better location. It was literally within three blocks or everywhere we needed to go. The rooms were fun, modern, and most of all, clean.

This will probably be my hotel of choice when I am in Minneapolis.

its ok. the atmosphere was neat, however the girls at the front desk were very unhelpful. Went to go to the Observation deck and the front desk girl said that it wasn't open yet, then she proceeded to just stand there. She didn't tell us when it was supposed to be open ( online said 11am- it was 11:15 )

We stayed here for my girlfriends birthday because we wanted to stay somewhere "fancy" this place was a let down. All the furniture was dinged up and had paint missing. You can't even have a water out of the room without getting charged and on top of it all there was an already drank soda in our fridge when we checked in. Obviously maintenance doesn't spend much time going through the rooms. Was very disappointed with how our visit went

An incredible landmark hotel in the center of downtown that places you within walking distance of several other points of interest, those being The Target Center, Target Field, IDS Tower, etc. One criticism that I do have of the facility would be the lobby background music that is irritatingly loud when you enter via the main entrance where you drop your vehicle for the Valet parking. I have no idea as to what the management may be thinking but I actually dreaded going in and out of the building and having to pass through the gauntlet of noise. We checked in at about 4:30 PM and checked out at around noon, background music was the same on both occasion and in between. Beyond that, it is a very nice facility, it could use more lounge space, the "Club" on the ground floor is way to rocking for casual conversation at night and the lounge on the 27th floor is nice but seriously lacking in seating/tables.

Stayed here Saturday night and loved it! I highly recommend stopping at The Prohibition Bar on the 27th floor, but it does fill up very quickly after it opens at 5pm. Fyi: There is a ramp across the street (RSM Plaza) that costed only $13 from Saturday afternoon to Sunday afternoon (much less expensive than the $42/night valet parking).

Very trendy. Loved staying in the Foshay for the historical aspect. Prohibition era bar is great. The observatory deck opened at 11am and we snuck up breifly before checkout. Front desk seemed a little robotic but maybe we just weren't trendy enough. An older building will have its flaws. Stayed near the elevator and heard it throughout the evening. Eventually we just decided we would pretend it was haunted- made it less annoying. Walls are also thin, conversion heard as people walked or soft muffles. Room service was advertised but there was not any type of content in the room regarding hotel amenities or ordering information. The enclosed rainfall shower was easily a 10/10- we were late for dinner because the acoustics were amazing and I was preparing for the next American Idol. Ask my husband. I took five showers. I would return just for the showers. Amazing. All jokes aside, we really enjoyed our stay and it was a memorable time.

When we checked into our room it was not completely cleaned and ready. We were able to get a different room immediately. We enjoyed cocktails in the lounge then dinner at Manny's. After dinner I thought it was odd that we could not get into the lounge without waiting in this ridiculous line. Security was rude and we were told to wait in line. We had an expensive room and dinner at the steakhouse. Catering to a crowd that had not dinned or booked a room at the W is unacceptable and my family will NOT return. This was a nice hotel that has lost their hospitality

Not the greatest experience for my first W visit. ...

Not the greatest experience for my first W visit. After being told at check-in that my room was being upgraded I thought great that s generous of them . But when I went to my upgraded room I realized they had actually downgraded me from a corner room to a regular room. My trip was booked through Expedia so it had been paid for in advance . After seeing that maybe a mistake was made I went back down to the front desk where I was informed they had given away my room to someone else and were now sold out of anything that was of similar or better quality. So, I was stuck with a lower quality room for my anniversary weekend . They offered a credit and moved me up a few floors , but honestly being lied to at check in left a bad taste in my mouth. Day 2 I realized that I had left my passport and some expensive headphones in the lower quality room that I was upgraded to . Had to ask 3 different people over a day and a half before they got security to check the room for me and retrieve my passport, but they wouldn t allow me to retrieve my headphones because another guest was in the room and couldn t confirm they were mine . Day 3 come around and on checkout was finally allowed to go back to the upgraded room and see if my headphones were still there after the guest had checked out . Guess what they were not , the guest has obviously taken them having three days with no help from anyone to retrieve them . It was a memorable weekend I can say but not for the right reasons.

Clean, beautiful room and great customer service! Would like other options for the shower head, though. Rain drop isn't my favorite. Room was also smaller than I anticipated for the price, but perhaps just bigger city pricing.

We had a amazing stay to celebrate an important event. -The staff was wonderful and provided amazing service. Something you don't always see when traveling anymore. -The room was in great condition with all of the ammenadities we would expect, and many we didnt like the nespresso machine in room and a surprise from our room stylist. I'm not exactly sure what that is but she did great. -The location is great, we walked everywhere and enjoyed some great food from the local restaurants just blocks away. This was not our first stay, and we will be staying here again in the future.
