Stayed at this resort for our honeymoon. We were not impressed in the slightest. It's over an hour drive from the Punta Cana airport, and the resort didn't offer a shuttle service. This made our cab fares $120 each way... There was NOTHING to do besides go to the pool or beach (both were out of the question since hurricane Matthew was hitting at this time). NO elevators up to the rooms -and we were on the third floor. Thankful that we're young and healthy and were able to take those flights 5-6 times a day. WiFi is NOT free, but is high speed and works well. ALL of the stations on the TV are in Spanish and there is no option to change them. Therefore, in order to enjoy our down time in the room, we had to buy the WiFi ($25 for 25 hours PER device - not terrible, but still annoying) to watch Netflix the whole time. Barely any of the staff spoke English, and if they did, they spoke maybe 10%. It was a nightmare trying to exchange currencies... it basically felt like a nightmare... being in a place where you have no money and can't communicate with anyone. We were asked for our t-shirt sizes when we made the reservation because we did a honeymoon package. They gave us two smalls... my husband is thin, but definitely can't fit into a small. We went to guest services every day we were there to see if they had any mediums or larges. Every single day they told us, "We should have some tomorrow, come back then". Needless to say, we left with two small t-shirts. We will never come back here - or to any of these resorts again. We had a "redo honeymoon fund" at our second wedding reception because ours was so miserable and awful.
Our massages at the Metamorphosis Spa were wonderful! I highly recommend it!!

From 20 October to 3 November my husband, my 10 year old son and I stayed at the viva. Really beautiful and immense place and at the beginning we felt confused but we immediately got used to the various streets ..... We stayed at the palace where we had the all inclusive package and the possibility of going to the restaurants belonging to the village. there are 8 in total and we had the opportunity to do 4 a week having done 15 days we could do them all. There was the stage with Italian cuisine, the atlantis with fish cuisine, the Rota Mediterranean cuisine, the 25th fusion cuisine, the lively cafe cuisine that I don't remember, there was the Dominican, the Mexican, and the Oriental. We didn't do the Dominican. Because we preferred to do the atlantis twice because we knew in the end that we could book with a super lobster ... All very good apart from the stage which was a real disaster in my opinion. The best for us was the 25 a particular cuisine but really good both for the food, for the location and for the service. Then there were 2 really big buffets with so much variety (being from the palace we could go to both the palace buffet and the beach buffet) the food was similar but we found it cleaner and better than the palace one. At the palace you will find at the pool bar maribelle a fantastic girl with her formidable special cocktails always smiling and friendly to me it is worth more than 10 other super bartender and oscar that we found at the village bar if I'm not mistaken and finally the great Fernando at the bar in the hall of the palace with his special espresso .... Then there was the pizzeria open for lunch and dinner from 19 to 5 in the morning if I'm not mistaken. Let's talk now About the animation we were at the palace and we had the Franco Rosso animation a soft but always active animation between tournaments, dances, water aerobics, beach volleyball, and the formidable bowls where my son had a lot of fun fantastic animators thanks to Emma, Cesare, Alexander. , Sabrina. Hotel well located, where we return with pleasure for several years. Only problem recurring the number of sunbeds! and that worsens from one year to the next, because this year vacationers have come to have a serious fight on the beach. The hotel removes deckchairs daily to wash them, and suddenly the lack is felt even more. For more than 5 years we spend our summer holidays at the Dominicus Palace we estimate that it misses on the beach between 20 and 25 sunbeds a day in summer. An investment that seems necessary to us, because the discontent during our holidays this year on this subject was recurrent. My 7th vacation here and always nice. I can recommend Palace, as then all the specialty restaurants are there. Is everything a little more noble. But since the plant is huge, everyone finds his corner that suits him.

If you go there anyway prefer themed restaurants like the Italian la rocca le bambu. In case we went to SAONA for 7 people (4 adults, 3 children) for $ 200 to look on the beach. For the rest the complex is large. Very good pizzeria between the palace and the beach. Happy Holidays . In the morning have a coffee at "especiale" it is very nice, bar near the reception.

Poor treatment to the guest, facilities does not provide for people with mobility disabilities. Bathrooms, covered, sinks, and toilet. The light went out for more than 6 hours, without providing an excuse or recolalizar in other facilities. I do not recommend and I would not go back.

Approximately Every 2 days there is a power failure. The food is a mess and the staff can not even understand English, if you ask a question! The excursions organized by the hotel are very good. I had a really great vacation there with a friend.
The only downside is the entertainment, which is not aimed at a young clientele but rather retired, fortunately the hotel is right next to the Viva Windham Dominicus Beach where you can access, move around, eat and participate in the entertainment freely. We are a family (2 children, 4 in the same room) and asked for a sea view
The first room we were given was communicating with another family, we asked to change (room 5942 beautiful and quiet view) and now it's really great, if your children are okay to sleep together because the formula is to have 2 king size beds, one for parents and one for child!
Everything is great, except a show too late at night, it starts at 10:15 p.m. in real life! And just that my teenager needs me to accompany him for each activity because I have to sign each time ... a little restrictive given the extent of the domain.

Really a very nice hotel. Large facility with a lot of opportunities to pass the time if you want. It's very clean! That is the most important thing for me personally. We had a very nice room with a sea view, the room was clean and it was always cleaned, of course with a tip.
It is a shame that the TV had a glitch and the remote control didn't work, otherwise everything was fine with the room.

we have just returned from Bayahibe Dominican Republic and unlike Saretta in Turin, I had a great time, fantastic structure, very clean and well-kept resort, eat good but not great (but we Italians are used to it) the fish ALWAYS present since we do not eat meat , swimming pools not always clean (this is true), FANTASTIC animation always present on the beach and always ready to involve you, but not suffocating (Alessandro and Fabrizio), really beautiful and professional evening shows, as well as every night in the placita of the Beach before and after the show they danced until 01.00.
The most negative thing we found are the excursions with the resort; to make up the numbers they sent us with a German-speaking group, in practice I paid for not understanding anything. If you want to do some good excursions, leave the Palace on the left or the Beach on the right, there is an Italian agency called FrancoNero. Franco Salvador and Francisco are the real top-players of the excursions, in addition to paying less, we had fun the impossible. Franco always ready to involve people and to be the real animator, always drinking present with coca-cola sprite, water and rum as much as possible. We ate well in Saona too (when you go abroad you have to be satisfied with the existing structures, otherwise you stay at home) we made bis-trio of grilled lobster, besides Franco's humanity surprised me; the leftover food (which was really abundant) was shared between the various people of the country and I noticed how much they have such respect and love for Franco, who is always a foreigner in their home
If I return to Bayahibe, Franco will forever be my guide outside the resort.
Returning to us, really good structure, suitable both for families with children, and for young couples, really recommended.
