Good place to spend 2-3hours with family and friendsin the aquarium..3D Amazon adventure movie was also good of 45 mins. Sharks and turtles are the point of attraction there! There are hundreds of species which includes fishes, turtles, sharks, brides and reptiles and many facts to learn as well.
Disappointed in the lack things to see. Brought my 4 kids and they mentioned the same thoughts to me. To much money for not much viewing .
Did the dolphin watching boat tour, saw a pod with a calf. It was so cool!
A little disappointing finding out after we paid that the 2nd building of exhibits was closed for renovations, it to us wasn t worth the admission price for the short time it took to walk through, all in all it s a nice place to bring your kids but we ve been to better aquariums.
Great fun for the whole family. You can watch sharks swim, watch the seals play outside, pet the rays, and learn about the animals and plants of the sea. They also offer a river otter event, boat rides, nature walk, woodland play area, 3D films on mature, and of course, gift shop. Definitely worth the money, just be careful, it can get crowded.
Even if you check out the tank on the outside, this is the place.

The VA Aquarium is great for the price and is an awesome local resource. Although their exhibits are somewhat small, they do a great job providing the community with a fun and engaging place for families to learn about animals, nature, and the local ecosystem. They have a ton of great hands on activities for children to learn throughout their exhibits. I was particularly impressed with how friendly and passionate aquarium staff were. Absolute top notch work.
really nice aquarium even has a ray petting area. Lots of nice childrens activities. I thought it was a nice place to spend the day with family.

Not worth the $24.95 at all. You can make the trip to Baltimore and pay the same with more things to see. This aquarium is small and not many things to look at

I enjoyed the Virginia Aquarium with my family. A lot bigger than it looks. The only negative was the cost. It was $89 for 2 adults and 2 kids, with a military discount.
A lot of the exhibits weren't open and it cost $25 per person that's way too expensive
Ive been to a lot of aquariums and this one isnt that great. Its also pretty expensive for what you see
I have a Bachelors in Marine Science, and I absolutely loved this Aquarium! I learned new things about Virginia and the Chesapeake Bay, I can't wait to take my family and friends here, I enjoyed every aspect that the aquarium had to offer.
Great place to visit as long as it's not "pride" day. It's ridiculous that a place of business decides to celebrate the LGBT community. Don't bring your family on that day and you should have a great experience.

I come here all the time! Amazing place to bring families, friends, or even to visit alone. There are nature walks, movies, and interactive exhibits. One of my favorite places in VB!

Really cool place to visit. Lots of good exhibits of all types of marine life. And they also (separate ticket) have a ropes course that is really awesome.
We had a Christmas party there and it was great. It gave another neat aspect to the party when I was able to walk the aquarium areas and see the fish and animals.
I don't know if the staff was irritated that they had to be there so late, but they weren't super friendly, they just stood awkwardly around, but they weren't rude or anything. It was really nice. Good things for the kids too.

Spent over 6 hours here. Exhibits are well maintained. Staff is helpful. Presenters are very knowledgeable. Touch pools are fun. Good for lots of different aged children.
An interesting set up with plenty of places to rest and watch the creatures. The tunnel is definitely something to experience!

The aquarium is always a good visit. All of the guides are super helpful and insightful. I especially like how the surrounding ecosystems are discussed and showcased at the aquarium; makes you feel invested in the surrounding area. The dolphin discovery boat ride was a real treat, seeing the dolphins out in the ocean (along with the other wildlife: pelicans, seagulls, etc.) was a truly enjoyable experience. Great fun for the whole family!!!
Really great educational aquatic experience for all ages. Balancing spectacle with knowledge and stewardship, they presented everything g really well. Great option if you re looking to kill a few hours.
This place is cool for a rainy day on your beach vacation. Little expensive but definitely something nice to look at on a rainy day.
I have always enjoyed this place and likely will be back every year with my grandson. Sometimes it's extremely busy, sometimes it's just regular busy... So pick your day wisely. The nature trail is always nice but beware of hot days (and mosquitoes). Overall, it's a lovely experience.

My son thinks it was great because he saw the "cool dinosaurs". Then the otter habitat was so interesting. It was so much more than just fish.

Plenty of touch-able adventures for adults and kids! You can spend hours watching sharks or otters as well as have educational experiences about the areas fresh/ brackish/ salt water regions! Have a great time swinging from the trees in the Adventure Park too!
Worst experience ever, went and was told the credit card system was down and asked to swipe my card twice the lady claimed the transaction was voided but it was not and when I inquired about it when the amount was not refunded I was directed to my bank which had no history of the voided charges. I paid twice for their mistake during vacation. Not only was I charged twice but the dolphin cruise was a waste of time and money. Not a dolphin In sight

Nice exhibits, but the price is steep for what you get.
I've been to a lot of aquariums in my life and this is definitely my least favorite. Not that many exhibits, they charge you for everything, and we went through the whole place in about 40 minutes. The entrance fee should be half the price at best so you can do the other things they have.
The aquarium was a lot of fun. Everyone, including my 2 year old enjoyed every bit of it. There was a lot of hands on sections, plus many informative exhibits that let your mind explore the world around you.
My only complaint was that it was really hot in the building, plus it being a rainy day, there were higher than usual crowds.
I would definitely recommend going here.
Love the VA AQUARIUM. Two areas connected by a trail through the woods. My kids enjoyed the animal areas section and the hike. If you don't wanna walk , drive to the other section of the Aquarium.
We love the opportunity to learn and experience all that is available at the Virginia Marine Science Museum and the adventures that await in the park. Having been a regular visitor for over three decades, the experience is still met with anticipation and we look forward to our next visit.
