The restaurant dinning room has large windows that open up to create an outdoor venue to maintain proper protocols for Covid restrictions. Just outside the windows is a grass area with tables, multiple fire pits, and stringed lighting over head. It was just so tastefully done. Beautiful. We were handed an iPad which was covered in clear wrap to protect us from the virus to view the wine l st which was extensive and reasonably priced. We had heard that Barrett Winery had been hit hard due to the recent fires, so we ordered a bottle of the Chardonnay which was wonderful. A old fashion cocktail was one of the best ever!

The ladies had pork loin with peaches, they loved it. Us guys had the braised short ribs with polenta, wow, what a dish. ERIK, our server, was as professional as you can get. A great evening.

Atmosphere and cocktails. They've really got the COVID dining comfortable enough that it feels like a fun, organic experience, the outside dining does not feel forced. Every cocktail I ordered, which admittedly was many, were far superior to any cocktail I've had that weren't completely handcrafted. Clearly, a whole lot of time and effort went into designing the cocktails and using from scratch ingredients. Very impressed, and by the time that I left, I was pretty fairly drunk. The food was pretty damn good but with a price to expect exceptional.

Absolutely phenomenal all around. The service was excellent, very attentive. The ambiance was very nice. We sat in the back patio area with views of the vineyard. And to top it off, the food was amazing! My wife had calamari fritte to start and the filet for her entree. I had the foie gras trio and the pheasant. It doesn't come cheap but the experience was more than worth it. Would definitely recommend.

The ambiance is amazingly comfortable. The staff was efficient, informative and truly warm. The menu was frustrating for only one reason, there were too many "perfect" choices. They have a Michelin "plate" award but are deserve a star in my opinion. In summary, this stop should be on your list!

This was my first time dinning at John Ash and let me tell you... it was amazing. The food was beautifully prepared my filet was so tender and melted in my mouth. The calamari was the best ive ever had. The service was top notch and such a beautiful atmosphere. Dessert was a beautiful chocolate custard with salted carmel brownie bites. Everything was perfect and reasonably priced. We did not however have any of the cocktails but they all sounded amazing.

Fantastic ambiance. Hands down one of the most romantic places in Santa Rosa. The little extras make it more memorable. Like the quail egg potato nibbles and the chocolate truffles. Jose our server was awesomely attentive. The salmon special was epic, but the agedl filet tasted gassy. Turn your flame down to blue! (Or put away the blow torch)

Came here for a work lunch with our team. Nice ambiance and service. The food was more affordable than you might think at John Ash. The Macro Bowl salad was fresh and fulfilling. Easy parking and beautiful landscaping outdoors.

Truly outstanding steaks, seafood, and vegetarian dishes. Most of the entrees are classic preparations with a bit of flair - steak frites with truffle butter is a great example. There's a tasting menu for more adventurous diners and a lovely view of the vineyard from the back patio. The service is top notch and, needless to say, the wine selection is excellent.

Had a company breakfast, the food was really good. I drink tea and was disappointed that the hot water was in an urn that previously held coffee. The tea ended up like tasting like coffee.
Overall it was a great breakfast

Banish Those who Complain

Banish Those who Complain

Unbelievable? But it happened to us. Last Thanksgiving (2016) we had a reservation at John Ash but they did not have a table for us when we arrived at the appointed time. I was quite unhappy with this and told them so. They told us to wait in some chair about 20 feet from the front desk. Then they proceeded to sat others who came in later. My wife, who is Japanese suggested there might be racism involved but I wrote it off. However, I did complain about others who came in later being seated before us. Finally we got a table but the consequences where not clear until this year (2017) when we made reservations for John Ash for this Thanksgiving. About a week after the reservation I had a phone message from Dave asking me to call him - he didn't say why. I did not reach him when I called back but he called me again to say they were refusing our reservation (just 3 days before Thanksgiving). Why? He said that they had a complaint from a manager who no longer worked there about our visit the prior year. He didn't have any details and when I explained what had happened he didn't amend his opinion. We had been banished, in effect, by a rumor from a former employee without documentation nor any chance to refute the allegations.

What made it even worse was that John Ash could have emailed me or canceled the reservation the day after I made it. And they could have said they no longer wanted us as customers after our prior visit. They did none of these things. These actions are not only unjust and unfairly punitive but spiteful. Of course, we will now avoid this restaurant and I hope this post will convince you to do likewise.

last night was the first time we went to this fine restaurant. But It is surely not the last time. We had a good time with the generous service, with the high quality food and booze and with the honest price. We will absolutely go back there again.

The food is always magnificent. The wine is always divine. This place has had 4 diamond ratings it seems forever. When I was last staying at Vintners Inn and ate here, it was 4 diamonds then as well, and that was 2009.

They use vegetables from the garden outside and in the craft cocktails as well. They are not inexpensive by any means, but they now have a happy hour that is much more reasonable with a $5 wine selection and $2 off cocktails. Don't order the tempura. It was horribly greasy and limp. Do order the fish tacos as they are amazing with perfectly cooked and flavored fish and slaw and handmade tortillas at only $3.50 during happy hour. The oysters are 3 for $6 during happy hour as well, and incredibly fresh and tasty, if not perfectly cleaned. Happy hour on Saturday is even quite long from 3-9, so don't miss out.

Three ambience is so amazing and romantic with dark woods and russet tones, big comfy pillows and mood lighting that will make you never want to leave. Its located on a vineyard and olive grove, which lends itself to the mystical romance as the evening turns to night. Just keep in mind the kitchen closes early and the bar by 10.

All in all, if you want a treat (and you know you do), you must try John Ash & Co.

Food was excellent, and we loved the views. This is a truly beautiful property. The only negative was our waiter. He definitely needs to be retrained, but we did not let that spoil our experience. We iqould definitely go back!

Easter brunch patio reservation was planned reserved and brought up .. I thought was even confirmed couple of times during the phone conversations . Upon the arrival . the waiter wanted to seat us in the dark part of the restaurant. Usually would't be a problem .. this time we had a guests out of time so vineyards view was required .
After asking for the manager( I really did not wanted to start my holiday that way).. we were seated I lighter part of the restaurant .
Food was good not extremely sophisticated so I was surprised to see very small potion usually associated with more culinarily advanced French cuisine .
Still great seating , good service ..it's not easy to run restaurant successfully on that level-
I definitely try it again!
