Riverbanks Zoo and Garden

The best experience and wonderful Zoo. Staff are knowledgeable and genuinely excited about their job and educating the visitors. Loved every part of the Zoo.

The zoo educates its guests on each animal for the most part explains environmental disasters on how some animals ended up in their careif you do zoos I do highly recommend this one no animal is behind bars it's all Glass very very educational

Ever since I was a wee lad I have always enjoyed a good Zoo experience and Riverbanks Zoo & Garden was my first. To this day I enjoy returning to this Zoo again and again and despite the exhibits updating at a Glacial Pace I would HIGHLY recommend this attraction to anyone who loves animals, Biology or has young children. I'm eagerly awaiting the Rhinoceros exhibit that is coming in the Summer! That said, I rated 4/5 stars because the experience as a whole is ruined by exorbitant concession stand food and beverage costs and the staff at Tuskers can be a massive hit or miss in terms of timely and most importantly polite customer service. Come for the animal exhibits and bring a decent sized bottle of water with you to avoid the concessions. *edited for grammatical errors*

I just hear nothing but good and good things about this Zoo. It must be gooder than good. It is probably great. One day I will make it to this zoo. Until then listening to peoples stories about how much they like it will have to suffice.

Fairly big zoo with lots of animals. Lots of little covered areas to view the animals and beat the heat.

Worked here for 6 years now and the people are always amazing and the zoo is beautiful. Highly recommend

Nice place with good exhibits. Friendly staff keeps everything moving. Definitely worth getting the bands for the kids

I especially love the tiger and lion and bear exibits! You can see them much better than other zoos I've visited. And the restaurant Wild Burger is awesome! Our food was fresh and not greasy! The portions were good!

Although it was hot as ever, we had a good time. There is alot to see and do.

It was a neat experience, but during the evening many animals were not out. I understand why, but I feel that they should not be charging full price for tickets when they are running extended hours and they know that not everything will be available.

My son loves this place, they have a lot of different animals and different sections, his favorite is seeing the sharks in the aquarium!

Beautifully landscaped zoo, gardens are wonderful, and the kids play area next to them gives kids a great outlet. Loved combination of ornamental and food plants in gardens.

You have to go to this zoo. It is one of the finest in the country

Lots of animals and the splash pad at the botanical garden side is fantastic.

It's a Zoo. Animals in enclosures and behind fences. Over priced souvenirs. Fun for the kiddies, it has a nice safari obstacle course near the giraffes. Free parking. It is something to do on the weekend.

Love the animals open area for visiting during covid...and I got to feed the giraffes

I did not like that most of the animals were put up when it was only 2 and the zoo closes at 5pm!!! There was nothing interesting at all.

Our family always has a good time here. I highly recommend getting a season pass with rides included... My kids love the animals, rock climbing wall, and especially feeding the giraffes!

Went to feed some animals with our 6yr old twins - at 12:30pm they were out of giraffe food. Huh? So why did we get that cash-card at the front desk that you recommended will fill with cash? I'd advise to skip the card they promote. Otherwise, great

The zoo is huge and connected to a large mountainside garden. My son loved being able to touch animals and even walk through the forest. One thing which could have been better is the forest walk was not labeled in the best way. Once you get half way into the forest, there are signs to tell you the rest of the way is not wheelchair or stroller accessible. It would be nice if these signs were posted at the beginning of the route to tell people.

The gorilla exhibit is one of the best I've seen! I love coming here.

This zoo has gone downhill in animal Care, upkeep and staff to work. They do have a lot of staff walking around but I didn't see them doing anything. They spend millions in the kids water park but they should of put this money in the zoo. The botanical gardens had no blooming flowers. This was all a waste of my money and I won't return.

The prices are outrageous.. and I feel like they could've expanded some of the animal enclosures. But my children and I absolutely love coming to visit the Gorillas. I'm thankful they don't have elephants anymore because they had a very small enclosure and it was just sad to see the elephants confined to such a small area. We didn't see but maybe 5 Meerkats at the meerkat exhibit and that seems a little odd when in the wild they have a huge family that stays together. The girls working the bird enclosure next to the koalas could use some training on how to greet paying visitors with kindness instead of trying to hurry them alone so they can get back on their phones. Either way, our goal was to watch the baby gorillas and we accomplished that goal! So freaking adorable

Riverbanks Zoo is a great place for families. They have many programs for children and is affordable. If you have children or grandchildren, I highly recommend a membership so you can visit often and take advantage of the benefits offered to members.

Clean zoo great staff and animals are all healthy. Lots of baby animals.

My first time at Riverbanks Zoo. I was visiting my family and we reserved space. The zoo was larger than I anticipated. It is very clean and open. The food is a bit pricey but really good.

Great experience. Food is pricey so I suggest you bring snacks and drinks, especially if you have a little one. Great little water park at the botanical garden, worth the trolly ride.

Had a blast so much to see and do great family outing

I took my grandchildren and we all had a wonderful time. I used my family/grandparents membership card. We wished the big cats could have larger enclosures though.

The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. But there are several exhibits missing animals. I also think the alligator snapping turtle was dead, its eyes were white and it had things growing off of its tongue.

Only gave 4 stars because I could only find 1 place to eat more than ice cream or pretzels. A little pricey on the rides especially for a child under 2 and on food, but overall we had a great time. Wish the waterworks had been open because it was miserably hot and only found a couple of places that had the water mist to cool off in.

Amazing zoo. Great education program, so much to see. A full day worth of looking around. Good food options. Kids love the play junction area

This is the first time I've visited the zoo at night not to mention all decorated in twinkling Christmas lights! It was beautiful. It was a chilly evening so a lot of the animals had been put away for the evening. Wonderful event held in the Watering Hole and look forward to visiting again soon.

Very nice place to visit with the family.. we enjoyed the train and carousel it s only $2pp this is great and I m happy they didn t take that opportunity to rip people off with high priced attractions. Overall I would recommend this place to others it s something nice to do with family or if your visiting the area

Great zoo for the size and the price is just right. Food and drink are high of course. Kids love it and when it's not too hot we enjoy it also. Definitely recommend at least 3 hours or more to see and do everything.

I like this zoo and garden. My favorite part is going to the garden. It is well manicured and very pretty year round. There are some shaded areas to take cover when it's too hot outside. The zoo does a lot of local events such as Brew at the Zoo that is fun to do.

Great day not to crowded. Buy the wrist band for the kids it's worth it

They Zoo was OK like always we went about a month ago and more animals was out then but the sea lions sure did have a show for us lol we didn't want to leave that spot. Other then that most animals were sleeping guess that's a chance you'll have to take at the zoo right lol any who enjoy my good folk.

It's nice if you're local but if you traveled far to get here not so much... Not the happiest staff and everything is ridiculously overpriced...

Zoo is very clean. Perfect size with many different animals. The sea lion exhibit is worth it alone to me.

Awesome experience for the whole family! There's always something new to learn and see. My family loves this zoo!!

Private event was held here for my company's Christmas party. The zoo staff did a terrible job helping us find the location. It's was dark, cold and raining so one would expect an escort to the event or better signage. They really made this a terrible experience and I hope I never have to go there again.

We participated in one of the zoo's educational programs, and spent the night in one of the educational rooms. We have a great time learned a lot and even got to see the lion and tiger barns! We all learned a lot and had a great time!

It was a nice Zoo but the prices for food and beverages was outrageous but I guess that's the way it is with every event you go to
