The 'Block' was a public PR excercise which backfired on Victoria Police as a whole. I do agree that signing ' Statutory Declarations' is not nor should be used to complain, there are many alternatives. What is extraordinarily frightening about West Melbourne Police, is the lack of service, the aggressive nature of their personal behaviour towards people. The lack of training and insight into multi-culturarism and no idea about the Victorian Charter of Human rights. This station does not care if a person has been assaulted, or if a person is or has mental health issues, drug effected, god forbid if their skin colour is dark ( they must be violent youth African gangs / refugees) - Ridiculous right? They cannot manage a small woman who was unwell and needed an ambulance ( with 8 members of police holding her down yet she politely walked with them after being seriously assaulted) this tiny Asian woman was on the ground face pushed into concrete treated with inhumanity and unnecessary violence. Cheered on by racist Australians, and anyone who politely asked why the need for extreme violence? Was shunned and the ( gaggle of male City of Melbourne employees swearing, abusing and supporting, low standards in policing.) A Senior Police member making personal comments which were horrifying but recorded. This is a police Station whereby evidence is not respected, if you are a witness to crime & being threatened & interfered with, they do not care. To all non-Australians, tourists, and visitors don't expect help or assistance here. It's not Germany, France or EU. Police are rude; they are not polite, they don't understand multiculturism, and they are not going to treat you with respect. They do not have the experience, understanding nor the education which is required, and that should be mandatory. All captured on film and handed to a media person, who was with me at the time. #tourists #police will not protect you in Melbourne. Please be cautious. #recordeverything Sadly, there are exceptions to the rule, but they cannot shine in the quagmire in the pack but should be praised. Go to your Consulate! Record and be very careful. Australians want your money, tourisn and investments but racism prevails. #tourists #achtung #hati-hati #debile

Sgt Lawrence was fantastic, patience and helped me get some affidavits signed that were urgent to me. Give her a pay rise and an extra weeks annual leave - She displayed empathy to me that was greatly appreciated.

Went to this Station yesterday because someone called to my workplace telling them that my work ID was in this station, I went yesterday telling me to comeback today to get my ID and so I Did. When I go there thinking that I m going to get my Work ID. But they Told me one of their staff put my ID as EVIDENCE!!!!! They told me it was an error and they will just contact me when will I get it from them..... it s KIND OF FRUSTRATING because as one of the frontliners here in Melbourne and working hard. They will tell you that they will just call you again?! It should be just a 1 star but the officer that talk to me today was nice and if it weren t one of their staff or admin who put my work ID on EVIDENCE I have my ID today. Just an advice, please differentiate between LOST AND FOUND TO AS EVIDENCE now I will go to work without my work ID. I thought the Police Station here in Melbourne are the Best.

I'm taking all things into account before I drop this review.

The staff that I dealt with were friendly enough but this story is the perfect example of a lack training, resourcing or just lack of professionalism.

- A staff member called me advise I had lost property handed in at the station.
- I went in on Saturday to be told that the lost property room is locked on the weekend and that I needed to make an appointment to collect my belongings.
- I called during the week to be told no appointment needed. Just come in.
- Arrived after lunch to be told Lost Property was closed on Wednesdays.
- "Come back tomorrow between 9-4"
- Arrived Thursday at lunch time. Guess what? Yep "Closed for lunch".
- So I waited for 20 mins.

Finally got what I needed. Thanks to the friendly staff but my experience was horrible.

In addition while I waited I noticed this.
The justice of the peace window had several people waiting for signed documents. While they waited the gentleman behind the counter was eating his lunch - Go out the back for God sake!

Thankyou for being the only police station where I haven't been treated unfairly, the Sargent runs this station very effectively and his staff are always helpful and understanding. Although it would have been 5 stars if my paperwork didn't fly off the back of the divvy van from Southbank. It was funny. Just shows that police officers are people too. Thanks guys, keep up the good work. Kat.x

22nd Dec 2020 Nobody at the counter, still unanswered in 5 minutes. Bad service. I came here for document validation.

It was the second time to visit, without counter service.

10 minutes had passed, then count police arrived @ 16:46 pm. Policeman said, "No document signing, until the coronavirus is over".

Pedestrians are allowed to walk across at crossroads road when the light is green, please tell your female officers to stop honking crossing pedestrians with long honks in police cars like today at the kings/latrobe crossing just because they want to clock off.

This 24hr station does a great job.So many people unfairly complaining about how busy they are, or that they are reluctant to certify documents. If more people, instead, went to a Chemist (Pharmacist) or a Bank(Manager)or any other entity listed as an authority to attest documents, this would free up the police to devote more of their time doing actual police work...win/win.

I'd like some tips on how to explain to my children why their Daddy came home with gashes all over his face and head, heavy bruising everywhere and cuts all up his legs.
Last I saw he was being forced into the divvy van with not a scratch, yet when released he looked as if he'd been brutally attacked.

My eldest is too smart for the 'he tripped and fell' reasoning.

Sergeant LAWRENCE went above and beyond in helping me remove a stolen vehicle record from a car that wasn't stolen. Turns out, in this case, it wasn't even VIC Police's responsibility. Thank you for your help.

Probably should review the ill manner of one of the senior constables M.Singh who was on duty on Sunday 04/02/2018. I politely asked him "are you willing to do certification?". His response was "Put it here. If more than 5 copies, bring it back on JP witnessing times" He did sign my documents and write some illegible SC NUMBER, but I was concerned that no name was written. I requested if he could please provide his name, regrettably he refused and added "Who told you I have to put my name. The SC number is there so they can verify me."

2 stars for taking the time to sign 2 IDs (total 6 copies) which I had to redo anyway.

In December 2018, I was cut by a drunken knife to my face and left a scar for a lifetime. Coupled with psychological trauma, but the police went to the scene to take away thousands of dollars jackets and gold rings, saying that blood tests were needed. It s been 5 months now, and no one has caught it. The jacket and ring were not returned to me. I went to the police station 5 times. I just want to go back to my coat and ring. I don't care if I can catch people. Too sad
