Vermont Electric has been my electric provider for over 10 years. I love the level of detail they provide online for your electricity usage; you can delve into the energy usage by hour if you'd like. You can receive alerts if you are using too much energy, among other reports.
Though a number of storms have done severe damage to lines, they have responded quickly and efficiently to outages and keep customers informed throughout an event. Since they cleared trees near lines a few years ago, we've rarely lost power (including no outage during the freak windstorm at the end of October 2017).

I have found VEC to be a great company to work with. My only reason for a 4 is because I would love to see lower rates. Benefits and programs to help folks use less electricity offer for free or with a stipend for attending would be nice as well. Offers to schedule an electricity audit at no cost would be great!

I have been a customer for 12 1/2 years since I moved to Fairfield . It has been at least 10 years since I have been late with a payment. I had a family emergency this week and inadvertently withdrew funds from my account that caused my VEC payment to be declined. They called today and I apologized profusely and told them I get paid Friday and will make the payment in full. I was informed that they do do disconnects in the Winter you know and that if I don t phone the payment In on Friday I ll be disconnected on Tuesday! For being less than 1 week late with payment?! NICE ! How insensitive and uncaring unsupportive and unkind. Shame on them !
I wish I had a choice of carriers. They give good service but that is heartless and downright rude!

They were out 30 minutes after calling for a power...

They were out 30 minutes after calling for a power outage and had it fixed 20 minutes after arriving. All of this was between 10 p.m. and 11 p.m. the night before the 4th of July. Excellent customer service on all fronts!

Very satisfied with their service and speed to resolve for power outage. They also have a good website to manage & see your energy consumption and having alert & info about power outage. Very very good. Of couse I find the electricity expensive as I come from Quebec(Canada) but I guess this is quite everywhere the same in US?

These people don t seem to care about how much more expensive their services are compared to their competitors. They are slow to fix outages, and good luck avoiding it because you cannot switch service providers. It is frustrating and I hope the company drowns.
