I've been working with Vicki as part of a practice marketing group for therapists and healers for a couple of years and can't say enough good things about her. She has an uncanny ability to balance accountability with support--knowing when to push and when to explore the underlying resistance to action. She is organized and clear with expectations and goal setting. I am so grateful to her for my growth both financially and personally.
Vicki Lind helped me focus my job search and make my pitch much more effective, in person and online. She told me things I didn't want to hear but that she felt would help me grow. Vicki is principled and she works quickly.
Because she specializes in two special areas, creative people and people who want to make a difference, Vicki not only coaches but can also introduce people with synergistic interests to each other.
I had my first session with Vicki and Joanie and I couldn't have been more pleased. Every interaction I have had with Vicki has been positive, she is warm and compassionate. I feel that she really genuinely cares about my concerns. She is extremely intelligent, she was able to understand implications after I expressed myself in only a few sentences. I didn't need to spell much out for her, she catches on very quickly. Her recall about facts that I have shared in past interactions amazed me. She was able to take a somewhat complicated situation and whittle down the details to focus on what was important. Our meeting was quite efficient and accomplished more than I had hoped for. She and Joanie make a powerful team. While Vicki led the meeting, Joanie put her suggestions into action in a clear and efficient manner. I am rarely take the time to write an online review, to date I've only posted one other. However, in this case, I was impressed to the extent that I felt moved to do so.
Vicki is a wonderful career counselor who really helped me move from a place of not knowing what I want out of a career to finding the drive and focus to make it happen. With her help I am now working in a field that is right for me.
She is patient, creative, and willing to challenge you with unconventional ideas. She is a master wordsmith with resumes/coverletters has been indispensable to me during my job search.
Vicki was just the person I needed to consult with about my career earlier this year. Within two sessions, she helped me to realize that I needed to leave my job and embrace a remote, contract-based career path. Three months into this new journey, I feel happier, healthier and better aligned with my passions and skills. I'm grateful for what an empathetic, well connected and knowledgeable career counselor Vicki was throughout this process. Don't hesitate to make an appointment with Vicki or one of her colleagues they are an excellent team!
For nearly two years I worked a series of side jobs and volunteered at a myriad of businesses, hoping and praying I'd meet the right contact or suddenly run across the perfect career path. This left me disheartened, frustrated and lost. Contacting Vicki Lind was my first step in the right direction.
She showed me how to break the job hunt down into manageable steps. Together we clarified my strengths and interests, researched industries that I had never considered before, found events to attend, used LinkedIn to its best advantage and pinpointed specific companies to follow. She told me where I had been spinning my wheels and where my energies would be best spent. I learned that I had been bending myself every-which-way to fit want ads rather than doing the research to find companies matching my ideal work environment, as well as my values. We were able to rework my professionally schizophrenic resume into one that displayed my experience and skills, revealing a capable individual who just might be perfect for the job.
After a lot of work and a few near misses, I got an entry-level position in my dream industry (travel) and finally see a clear path ahead. I love my job and couldn t be more thankful for Vicki s clear directives, advice and encouragement.
So, if you are really ready to bring yourself to the next level and open and ready to make a professional advancement. Bring yourself to see Leslie. As a former coach, I think a skills coach has a job to not make you feel better, but to help you see yourself as better. She helped me see myself as having something that employers want. That confidence for someone mid-career like myself is extremely valuable. I would recommend you go to her prepared to work. She can seriously help you have success in your search.
Vicki is a wonderful advocate and coach! I highly recommend her for creative solutions in career transitions and helping to stay on task in a changing world of business. She is protective and positive and knows to tell you when to hold and when to fold. She holds a kind and safe space and helps to tap into self-care tools during challenges.
I couldn't have navigated my job transition without Vicki's help! She's very knowledgable and helps you figure out which steps you should take to reach your career goals.
I had excellent results working with Vicki Lind & Associates. After an initial consultation with Vicki that was positive and helpful, I was able to decide on just the right services for my needs. Leslie turned out to be the perfect job More
I worked with Leslie Yeargers and she was great! She helped me reformat and polish my interview question responses and I think it made all the difference-I got the job!
Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a career shift!
Vicki helped me understand myself with thoughtful questions and exercises. The process helped me uncover my career goals that I have always known but couldn't put into words.
For the first time in a long time, I'm excited to see where my career path takes me!
I consider Vicki Lind to be the premier Portland expert on career counseling. At the job for decades, she is not only adept at helping clients identify their ideal career options, but also has her finger on the pulse of Portland, so is extremely helpful in the real-time Portland job search.
I've been extremely impressed with the advice and coaching I've gotten from Leslie Yeargers. She has helped me with interview coaching and evaluating my strengths and weaknesses as a job candidate. She is extremely professional, experienced, and has great attention to detail. I recently got the biggest final interview of my career thanks in large part to her assistance.
Vicki recently helped me negotiate a job offer which resulted in a 15% increase in salary and benefits for a new job. I'm extremely glad I asked for her help, and I would definitely recommend her services to anyone who needs negotiation or marketing help.
Waste of time and money. She didn't tell me anything that I haven't already explored on my own. I told her at least three times during our hour-long, $100 session that I wasn't interested in becoming a nurse and she kept bringing it up, even at the end when she was trying to sell me packages for additional sessions. I went into this experience open-minded and hopeful and left back at square one where I started...sans $100.
Vicki was a valuable ally in navigating, coaching, and supporting all phases of the job search. I would recommend her to anyone looking for a job, or looking for insight with their current career path.
I worked with Ursina Teuscher for several months as I navigated a career transition that was particularly challenging for me for several reasons, including with respect to the emotional stress it triggered in me. Ursina was instrumental during this process, not only as a valuable coaching strategist, but also as a therapeutic, stabilizing and confidence-building force. I m extremely grateful to her and highly recommend her work to others who may find themselves in a similar situation.
I have used Vicki's help over 20 years of career-building and career transitions, with great results. She stays up to date with the latest job-search trends and technologies, remembers my quirks, strengths and weaknesses, and is savvy about how to nail my resumes and cover letters and ace my interviews. I am an idealist, and Vicki helps me ground and focus my energy into good jobs. I recommend her to anyone seeking a Portland job or career.
In just a short resume coaching session on the phone with Tifini and one hour of interview prep with Leslie, I was able to write a resume tailored to the job I wanted and feel more comfortable interviewing. Their feedback was on-target and In the end I got the job!
Although I really enjoyed meeting with Ursina to explore my skill sets, when it came to take care of the resume part I was really disappointed. These girls dropped the ball on me. The resume Tinifi wrote, was in poor design quality. When I asked if we could touch it up in a more up-to-date presentation there was absolutely no follow up and absolutely no interest in my career whatsoever. All of the above for a mere $1000. I am not sure what happened there.
In my first six months with Vicki's Advanced Marketing Group for Creatives, I accomplished an incredible amount, including multiple goals I'd pondered for years. Since then, Vicki's group has continued to provide me with the support I need to make thoughtful decisions to improve my business (and thus my life). Both in a group setting and one on one, Vicki has the incredible ability to slice right through any seemingly cloudy circumstance to focus on the heart of the matter. She consistently provides much-needed clarity, quickly and with enthusiasm. She is truly a treat to work with.
I started working with Vicki a while back, but now that I've finally landed a new job, I wanted to express how helpful she was during the course of this journey.
Vicki has a background in social work and does a wonderful job of listening to your needs and wants in a career and job environment.
One of the most helpful skills she taught me was how to refine my online search, setup proper filters, and alerts in a way that is useful.
Additionally, she teaches her clients how to translate job postings and identify what skills are most desirable in order to properly tailor your resume and cover letter.
I am glad I went with a package as I started the process unsure of what I was looking for exactly. Over multiple sessions I was given a set of tools that make me feel confident in my ability to land a job and reach my goals in the future.
Finally, it's very convenient to schedule appointments online, and there is free on site parking for weekends!
Take the time to seek out her services, you won't be disappointed!
My friends look at my radical change of careers in my forties with envy. "How did you find the courage to do it?" they ask. Working with Vicki gave me the moral strength to completely change direction. She helped me clarify what was really important to me in a career and in the workplace through conversations and assessments of my strengths. Together we explored career options that matched those desires. Although I initially thought that I didn't want a career that required a lot of additional education, I ended up realizing that going to school was an important part of realizing my goals.
I only needed four visits to get clear about what I wanted. Two years later I am well on the way to completing my journey toward a new career. Whenever someone asks me how I found the courage, I send them on to Vicki.
Vicki is a fantastic career counselor. She is an excellent sounding board, cheerleader, and resource for those looking to find a more meaningful career. Her knowledge of the Portland job market is encyclopedic, and she is a veritable Emily Post for the dos and don'ts of job courtship. Go see her!
I had not written a resume or cover letter for decades...and it showed. The world has changed and working with Tifini Roberts from Vicki Lind and Associates was a huge breakthrough. Tifini helped me write a resume and cover letters for both private sector and public sector jobs. She was terrific, she was able to help me pull together a very professional set of documents, in very short order, from scratch. She further helped me understand how resumes are done now, why, and how to make the most of the on line job platforms. She is efficient, knowledgeable and fun to work with. I highly recommend her.
After being laid off and then spending two years at various contract and temporary positions, I was frustrated and demoralized when I first contacted Vicki Lind and Associates, and was basically taking a shot in the dark.
I am so grateful and happy that I made that decision, because working with Leslie to create a new resume and prep for job interviews helped give me the boost of confidence I so desperately needed. I met with Leslie three or four times over four months, had three interviews, and then landed a dream job with an organization I could see myself at for the rest of my career.
I honestly believe I could not have done it without Leslie's help. I was taking rejections so personally and feeling so anxious at job interviews: it showed! Leslie helped me to remember how capable I am and a year later I am in such a different place thanks to her. I very highly recommend the services of Vicki Lind and Associates to anyone engaging in a job search.
I saw Leslie Yeargers twice and found the visits to be very helpful. I had left a difficult work situation a couple of months earlier and was struggling with how to explain this in an interview setting while also generally feeling stuck. She helped me to brainstorm some options and see the situation differently. I then saw her a second time for a mock interview where she provided valuable feedback, giving me increased confidence in subsequent interviews. I would gladly recommend Leslie and wish I d reached out to her sooner.
Vicki and Leslie were amazing. They took the time to listen to where I wanted to go with my future and what kinds of things I enjoyed doing, as well as what skills I already had in my possession. Leslie helped me update my resume and sharpen my skills before walking me though the steps to increase my professional social media presence and assist me in marketing myself to businesses. If the time ever came up again where I am wanting to redirect my life I will be going back to Leslie.
Leslie Yeargers is an excellent career coach! She honed in on my week spot (writing cover letters) and worked with me to make it one of my strengths. The end result was that I got a job interview solely based on my cover letter. That interview led to a job offer! If you're looking for a career coach who is going to actively listen, give tailored advice, and work with you to get that job, Leslie is right for you.
