I took my dog in because I thought she may have swallowed something. I asked if x-rays could be taken....They did some blood work and stated that she had pancreatitis and had a 50/50 chance of survival. I had a choice of treatment estimated at $2517.90. I agreed to have treatment done with half down deposit but when I asked about the foreign object and taking xrays.... the doctor stated that the blood work determined that xrays weren't needed... I insisted that xrays be taken... By the time, I literally got to the front desk from the examining room the doctor rushed out of the back and exuberantly stated she had find a round object on the xrays--- she just preformed???? I then felt a huge burden had been lifted off my shoulders and maybe the treatment would take a different approach. I asked the doctor what we do from here and she said that the surgeon had just left for the evening( at a 24 hour emergency center) and she would have her call me in the morning. I received a phone call from Dr. Schnurrer the next am and she continued to mention Pancreatitis instead of the removal of the foreign object. I then proceeded to ask if the foreign being in the stomach would cause abnormal blood work and she stated yes. There was a level of concern but the main focus should have been the removal of the ball. I agreed to disagree to the continuance of improper diagnosis and proceeded to having a conversation with the surgeon who would preform the removal of the round object. At that time an estimate $2700-$3800 was agreed upon because I felt like I had no other choice. I was told that if we didnt do the procedure my dog would die. I asked if this was addition of the first estimate and the surgeon said that she did not have anything to do with that situation. My bill came out to $4987.00(round off). I know it seem crazy that I would have paid this bill but there again my hands were tied ... I figured I would talk to the owner Dr. Fallin and maybe resolve this in a nice way. I did proceed to write the owner a letter stating my concerns. Did I receive a response--- NO.....Do I recommend this place for 24 hour emergency service- NO.. Do veterinarians recommended this place- NO! Who do they recommended- DOGWOOD on Broad Street

We brought our dog up a few weeks ago and found out some news no dog owner wants to ever find out but the staff and Drs here could not have been more compassionate and thoughtful. Today we went back up for a check up and had to make the decision no one ever wants to make. Again, the Dr was very open, thoughtful, caring and answered every question we had. One of the worst days one can have but a great group of people made the transition for our Laney as comfortable as it could be for her. I could not recommend VRCC more. Even in the hard times they look out for the animals and their families.

I will never take another pet here. My dog was ran over by a car so of course my main concern was internal bleeding, I was told blood work was not done that their main priority was making my dog comfortable (she had a broken femur); however, I was charged $234 for blood work and when I called to dispute this they said I had signed an estimate with blood work in that (of course I did when I was distraught). I never received blood work and was told MULTIPLE times that it was not done, that it would be done IF she stayed overnight. They were all about money and didn't care a bit about my dog. The front desk staff were fighting with the techs and veterinarian, it was absolutely ridiculous. Please, save yourself the grief and money by taking your pet elsewhere.

My lab has had quite a few misadventures in the past year that have led us to seek emergency/ after-hours care, and the VRCC has been there to receive us and guide us through those traumatic incidents with the utmost care and professionalism every single time. My dog has been under the care of Drs. Trevor, Jones, Boyd, and Schumaker, all of whom have demonstrated thorough knowledge and sharp judgment and were able to make me feel at peace. A team of hardworking, compassionate, and kind people who genuinely care for the safety and health of your pet. Thanks for all you do!

I do not recommend this place. Our sweet boy was very sick and we had to put him to sleep. While saying goodbye to him, Dr. Fallin barged into our exam room and started telling us there were too many people in the room (due to covid) although our dog's vet said it was ok. Dr. Fallin was aggressive and extremely rude. It was completely inappropriate, especially given the fact that we were spending our last moments with our precious boy. No one should be treated like that, especially in a moment of sheer heartbreak. There are other places that cost just as much but are much more compassionate.

We love our little baby, and we knew within minutes of meeting Dr. Fallin that he really was going to treat Blue with compassion, care, and a level of professionalism that really made us feel better.

Our 8 year old Lab/mix, Chaos was referred to VRCC by Helping Hands surgical center after having an amputation for a Brachial Plexus tumor. We drove down here from Pennsylvania for this surgery and new nothing about either center but what we found on reviews from the internet.
It was a great experience. The staff at both places were so kind and took great care of our sweet pup.
At VRCC the staff was wonderful, they were eager and ready to help even though they were swamped with patients and their nervous families. Dr. Ricki Kirsch was patient and kind and explained everything to us. The ladies who provided him with such loving care were great. I was called first thing in the morning with an update and again later that day from Dr. Jones (I think that was her name). We were so nervous and worried for our dog and everyone there made this experience a good one for us. Our pup has a long road to recovery and we feel that the care he received at VRCC was just what he needed to get him up and moving again ( only now on three legs)
Thank you everyone for your excellent service and care

Recently, our family was devastated by our 5 year old miniature dachshund, Charlie Brown s, sudden onset paralysis in his hind legs. Our vet referred us to Dr Clarke at VRCC. I am SO PLEASED we saw Dr Clarke and chose to have surgery done.
The staff at VRCC was extremely kind and understanding (this is during the COVID epidemic so we were unable to go inside and the staff handled this all quite well, with compassion and kindness). All staff I interacted with were professional and courteous. Dr Clarke was very communicative and kind, honest and comforting. A super huge shout out to Myndy as well-one of the night time ICU techs-she sent me photos and videos of Charlie after surgery and showed him such great kindness we were moved to tears by her compassion at such a stressful time. The treatment WAS expensive-but the quality of care Charlie received AND the fact that he is now walking, wagging his tail, pain free and happy was worth EVERY penny.

If you experience a trauma with your beloved pet and are presented VRCC as an option-take it! In a high stress time in the world, these kind and caring folks went above and beyond to make us and our beloved Charlie Brown comfortable and reassured.

Thank you VRCC!! A thousand times over!!!

This veterinary hospital is excellent ! I have taken my dogs here from everything from an allergic reaction to a bee sting to my animal having cancer . I recently took my dog here because she was having seizures. Vets and owners are excellent . They treat your animal with respect, communicate well about your animals care , and truly are concerned about what happens to your animal . For an emergency vets office the cost for the treatment is well worth the care my animals receive. In my experience , they have always explained things to my husband and I in a clear and logical way and they do want to best for our animals . They make you feel like you all are committed to providing the best care for your dogs. Dr Pierre , Dr Fallin, and Dr Meek are just wonderful. Also , Lori is just great! They will answer any questions you have until you feel comfortable enough to make the best decision for your pet .
