All I have to say is, if you have your own snowboard, which you did not rent, bring it with you wherever you go. I went to get some food, left my snowboard outside, 15 minutes later its gone. There was nothing I could do, since they don't even have cameras, other then file a report. The people that work there, were nice enough to give me a rental for my remaining day and a half. The next day, I overheard a couple talking about how one of their boards got stolen. So I guess its pretty prevalent, you can count on thief's lurking around mount snow. NEVER LEAVE YOUR BOARD UNATTENED, unless you want it stolen, have a friend watch it for you or bring it inside. The least Mount Snow could do is invest in some cameras. Like c'mon just some simple cameras, I assume it happens more often then not, so why not get cameras. Other then that everything was good, great trails for snowboarding and stuff. But be wary of scumbags who will steal your board, given the chance, peace!

Bought tickets for the water park. The weather is thunder storming and they don t allow you on rides in that condition. They would not transfer my tickets to another day or refund me. Ridiculous for a safety issue. Don t recommend buying tickets in advance with them.
This was the best way to ruin the president s day weekend. The whole skiing experience became nightmare, with inadequate lessons from coaching staff, and all around rude behaviour from the guest services. We were in and out of the park in under 3 hours, after spending $500+, worst rip off for zero value for the money spent.
Wonderful conditions last week, we had a blast. Hotel is also great, nice clean facility and outback there is a hot tub and heated pool. Lines move quick for rentals and the ski lift ticket is scan card instead of clipped onto the jacket.
Skied here a bunch as a kid when it was still a tent city instead of a lodge. They got a nice new lodge and they do a good job of making the best of what New Jersey weather brings.
Mothers Day Brunch. 43.00 p.o. plus 21% added on tip. Service was terrible. We got water and werw offered 1 drunk and never saw server again. Would not return. Food selection was minimal.
On Sunday January 14th, we (my 3 kids 13, 12 and 9 years old and I) decided to go for first time to Mountain Creek. Bad decision! Everything started with the parking, and no service to transport to the Ski Center - we needed to walk with all the equipment for at least 400 meters. Then, we bought the tickets online to save time, it didn't happen, I needed to wait for 30 minutes or more in a queue at Guest Service desk (where only two people were attending). The ski was ok. Then the lunch moment, this is the worst and the easiest to fix, no place to sit or put the food on a table and have lunch, in any time, we tried at 1pm: nothing - waiting for 30 minutes and no place, we said lets come back later, we came back at 2:30pm: nothing - we finally decided to eat standing in a little space in one side of a long table (I stole two chairs, with bags on top of them, then the 4 of us sat down at least for 10 minutes when the owners of the bags came back and claimed for them), this center is not prepared to receive this amount of people, it is not prepared to give a good service. There were no personnel to provide any assistance to the people looking for help. There were queues to go to the bathroom for men!!!! This was the first and last time in Mountain Creek.
MC is something of throwing a dart in the dark. Conditions like most other mountains depend on the weather and at creek when it's bad it's bad but when it's good its great. As for the crowd yes the weekends will be very busy from city folks. I suggest bring your own food or exploring, like a quick drive to warwick NY for a good eat. The peaks are divided into basically terrain park on south peak and casual riding in North and then there's granite in the middle. If your a boarder like myself who enjoy jibs and jumps head to south. Beware though have some experience before riding through because there isn't much patience from the locals and experienced riders.
As far as the Waterpark goes itself the rides can be fun but the water is cold and difficult to climb the mountain over and over again. My my biggest gripe is the way they treated the local nonprofit I work for. They made a lot of promises to creating a day fundraiser and at the last minute pulled out. Causing us the loss of a lot of money witch we couldn't recover from. The people in charge since the new owners bought the place really didn't care. I worked with them for 3 years before these new owners without one problem. It's a very bad thing in my book to screw over a small community nonprofit like that.
Extremely terrible experience today. Arriving at 9:30am and at 1PM my friends are still waiting for renting gears. Messy management and really poor service design. People have no idea where to line up. Each staff gives u a different solution, they hav no idea what they are doing! I am not paying to wait for the whole day. This is my worst ski experience. Black list. I will never come again.
Staff and security team was extremely helpful when we forgot a pair of boarding boots. They even gave us free hot chocolate when they went to retrieve them! Yay Mt Creek -- great job and thank you!!!
I had a great experience here last summer (2016) I drove 1 and a half hour to the place with my family and it worth it every single mile. It was a great experience, I found a show called "Tarzan" and it was not bad... the man show up a huge snake and another reptiles as well, food is great and the lockers system is great ( I love the machine dispenser too) Visiting next summer!
Fun for kids and adults. Variety of slides is great, ranging from low thrill to high thrill. Spent all day and still did not get to try them all. Went on a hot summer day and experienced some wait to the attractions, on average 10-20 mins , which is bearable. For comparison, wait for slide in Six Flags Hurricane Harbor was 40+ minute per slide even on a rainy day. Food is overpriced just like in any other theme park, but that s common
Extremely terrible!! It is definitely my worst ski experience in my whole life. Will never ever come again.
We came at 11:00 am. Waiting in line for getting the tickets purchased online in advance. Then rental line. At 2:30 pm still not get the last piece of my equipment. They are running out of poles. No explanation, no apology, not even one single word of sorry .
I cannot ski without poles. It is also part of the rental package. The whole experience today was just totally unacceptable. At 3:00 pm I had to go to the guest service and talk to manager to get my refund. Some supervisor called Ellen gave back the money but without any sorry attitude. When I asked her if she knows you are running out of equipment and still selling the ticket, she said she doesn t know. Maybe some other rental people know. I don t know who should be responsible for this but again, no explanation, or a single word of apology. She seems not care any of this.
I understand it is a good day for skiing. A lot of people with kids are here. But the organization is just totally a mess. The bathroom is the dirtiest I ever seen. We had to wait 3-4 hours to get our settled for actual skiing. They have no idea of what is customer service. They just simply get your money and doing nothing.
Again, if there was ever one stuff came up and say sorry, I wouldn t be so angry. It is officially on my number one of black list. I have one star only because I cannot give 0. If you want to get this experience, be my guest.
I went with my daughters for snowboarding lessons. I would not recommend this place for learning. Lessons were expensive and pretty lousy. We were there on a quiet day and it was a mad house. I would definitely suggest looking for somewhere else.
This is a good place for skiing. The mountain is very tall. If you ski can go directly to the venue to show your style, if you are a beginner, it does not matter, there is a professional coach for teaching. You can learn. Here you can bring your own ski equipment, you can also rent ski equipment. Some cell phone service providers have no signal here, the service center covers free WiFi. Parking is $ 20. In short, it is worth to come here.
December 25, 2017. Do not come to Mountain Creek. Ever! They re a scam! I called them before coming and they told me I ll be on the mountain in about an hour. When we got to the place and stood in line, they also reassured us we will be on the mountain with equipment within an hour. The line actually goes into another line and into another line and... And they charge people full price and security and mid-people along the way either don t tell anything about estimated time, or simply lie to you by saying it ll be an hour. The manager is afraid to tell people about the line and all are standing without even realizing they won t get today to ski at all! And they re talking now about closing a couple of big slopes. Big lie! Big scam! These people don t know how to organize things, how to manage things and how to respect other people time. Instead, they just keep you in the dark about their underperformance and lie right into your face. Don t fall into the same trap I did.
Really fun. The Roaring Springs section reminded me of my youth when it was Action Park. There is just not a lot to do here. We were done in a few hours. The park really needs to step up to the competition and add new slides.
It's not a bad option for NJ and it's rather close. We were there on Saturday and arrived around 12, the place was very busy especially the green trails on the main piak, however it's nice that you have another 2 peaks so you can get away from the main crowd to the not so busy area. So if green trails is not what you ar looking for you should be good. I wish they had more lifts thought and of those could be a bit faster.
Had a great time here. Went to the water park and we're able to buy drinks at the bar and bring them into the pool. It's really a nice place to visit and to spend the afternoon here.
Do not bike as a beginner! The trails are very hard and are meant for intermediate riders and up. I went with my friend and his son and unfortunately stopped after our first go around on the easiest green trail. I spoke with the manager to get a refund but he ended up being rude and insulting me. Please beware!
Bought a groupon voucher and was told to present voucher and enjoy. No signs indicating where to go. I sat on one line for 35 mins only to be told groupon vouchers need to go get tickets. Waited another 40 mins in another line in 95 degree weather. I dislike this place. The disorganization is unbelievable. Never again
I've never had a more miserable experience on vacation. On the first day of our stay the refrigerator was broken, although the freezer worked. We had just gone food shopping & spent a couple hundred dollars on food. We called the front desk, who sent maintenance. He took the temperature and the infrared thermometer read 57 degrees. Mr. Maintenance said 57 degrees was the correct temperature. We told the "professional" that the normal temperature for a fridge is 40 degrees or below. He was dumbfounded, but he drilled holes in the back of the fridge. It did not work. I called GM, who told me there is no way to replace the fridge and he would let the owner know. I asked for a mini fridge. We had a lot of food that was going to spoil. There was no fridge on the entire property to switch out with my broken one, and so I asked for them to to buy me a mini fridge for $100. That was a no-go. I spent three full days and nights freezing water and putting the bags of ice in the fridge. When the water in the fridge melted, I spilled it out, and replaced it with more ice. When GM called me, he said we would get one night free and the other three nights at 50% off. WHICH WE NEVER GOT. On 12/25 my husband and three children went to the mountain to ski. They waited on line for rentals for two hours. After two hours, they couldn't take it anymore and left. Without skiing. Housekeeping came one time in 4 days, and all they did was replenish the toiletries. They left all the garbage intact. I called the front desk. I asked what I should do with all the garbage. He said nothing. I asked if I should throw it out myself? He said I could throw it out by the front gate. I replied "So I should load my trunk with bags of garbage and drive to the front gate of the complex and bring the garbage to the dumpster myself?" He said yes. I asked "is there perhaps another solution?" Only then he offered to contact housekeeping to come back and pick up my garbage, which they did. That night, I needed more towels and sheets, and no one picked up the front desk phone after multiple calls. So I got into my car and drove to the hotel. To get towels. There were no sheets. And one person at the desk. And a long line of guests who needed help. For a resort at 100% occupancy. On December 25th overnight heat in the condo broke. The temperature outside was in the teens. No one could sleep. I slept in my coat, hat and gloves. I called the front desk the next morning many times. I left a message - no one called me back. I spoke with the operator who also could not get the front desk to pick up the phone. The operator suggested I should get the shuttle and go to the hotel front desk to tell them that the heat is broken. Didn't we invent the telephone to circumvent having to travel to speak with people? I should not have had to go to the hotel to have my needs addressed. I texted this to GM who sent a mechanic. Who needed to get a part for the heater. So that's how I spent those 18 hours. On the 26th my husband took my 9 year old son skiing. He called me at 9pm to call the shuttle to pick them up at the mountain. I called the operator and she told me the shuttle driver is driving in a circle, picking people up and they should just wait. At 9:40, forty minutes later, my husband called me back. They had not been picked up. I called the front desk. The shuttle driver was standing at the front desk. Where he had been for the last 40 minutes. No one told him to pick up at the mountain. His phone didn't ring. I guess the operator just made it all up instead of calling the shuttle driver to pick them up. So much easier for her to not be bothered calling him. Everyone was lovely. Inept. Incompetent. Did you hire seasonal staff without training them? Could this be a training issue? Could this be an operational issue? Do you have systems in place to manage the flow of information and the resolution of issues? Or do people just have to use their best judgment on how to solve problems based on their past experiences with other employers and a hastily reviewed Staff Handbook?
Great place that is close to my home. Haven't skied in 15 years but started skiing since I was 5. Got back into it quickly but my legs are seriously out of shape!
Didn't like the 2017 year alot changed keep south the terrain park and build more features they did it for years don't know why they slacked off this year with minimal hits and riding all the way to north for the jibs that belong at the top of south no good. The whole point of south is a full mountain of terrain it's the only reason to come here lol.
This review is ONLY Payment System on the Website is HORRIBLE, you have to purchase day by day, and sign the waivers over again because the system gets confused at the time of checkout. Please fix it.
I will post another review after I spend a great time in this beautiful Mountain :)
south side is still the best terrain park on the East coast. For all levels except Xgame and Olympic level but for all else it is great. even though the winter has been mild they keep the mountain well groomed and maintained.
came here during labor day and really enjoyed it. beautiful serene setting with tons of family-friendly and outdoor activities. farmers markets abound. good restaurants in the area. waterparks, pools, and lakes make for plenty of swimming. renaissance fair is close by too for a fun day out. you can bring your mountain bikes if adventurous, take them up the chair lifts and have a zip down the hill too.
It was a hot day in the mountains. We went to the water park. We bought tickets with a $1.50 fee attached to each ticket. By the way, you can't buy tickets in person. A father and son next to me was turned away and was told that he had to buy a ticket online. The water park opened at 11 am and closes at 5 pm. We arrived about 11:45 am. We had to pay $5 to park on gravel down a hill. It's not well maintained and there is no set rules on how to park. Parking attendants were at the top of the hill to tell you what line to be in but that's it. Didn't see any security anywhere. Lockers are $15 for a purse/small valuables. $30 gets you the family locker which holds 10x more. It's expensive. Slides were okay but you had to wait upwards of an hour for the adult slides. Also, 4 adult slides were closed. Why? With a 4 month closure I figured that all rides would be opened, maintained, and staffed. That was disappointing too. The food was expensive, poor quality, and it had no taste. I had a grilled chicken sandwich. It was piece of processed NOT grilled chicken on a soggy bun. Nothing else. I paid $9.50 for it. I got soggy fries too, $4.50 and a 20 oz. bottle of Sprite for $4.50. There was no social distancing enforcement but reminders to people whom had their masks off their faces when in areas where food was sold. Since the park closes at 5 pm, attendants were at ride entrances turning people away even before 5 pm. Lesson learned: wear your swim trunks, eat before you go or expect to pay over $60 for food and a locker and arrive at 11 am to get your chance to get on the slides you want. I will be thinking hard about whether I want to go back again. And the only reason this review was above a 1 star is because the 2 slides that I was able to go down was fun.
Sends unsolicited spam to people who have no interest in doing business with them. I would be concerned that they may be more interested in sending emails that waste peoples time rather than run their establishment. I would definitely advise their marketing team to work on the targeting of their unsolicited emails as well as the timing. Sending them at 4:22pm on a Tuesday might not be the best time to attract new customers, it might just be the best time to annoy people who are having a rough day.
So far terrible, still on the line for rentals after 50 minutes and I do have bunch of people ahead of me, By the time will get our rentals it will be at least 1 1/2 Soo inefficient
Small Mountain with about a 1000 feet vertical. Pretty crowded for the amount of terrain they offer. Mostly too steep for beginners in my opinion. Only 1 real green run there from top to bottom. But the south peak is pretty cool if you're into the park. I would recommend Mountain Creek to Park Rats that don't wanna go all the way to Mount Snow for Carinthia in VT.
It would be wise not to underestimate the resort. I would say it's on par or better than the best resorts in PA. The staff was friendly as well! I honestly didn't expect the level of quality I experienced. I will be back!
It is my worst ski experience ever. We got there about 10:00 a.m. yesterday, and there was two super long lines out of the lodge, one for picking up tickets that we bought online, the other one for rental and on site tickets. But no one tells us which line should we wait beforehand. We just need to figure out by ourselves.
Buying online tickets supposed to mean convenient and efficiency to customer however in this place they are doing totally in the opposite way. I spend 1 hour to get my online tickets and my wife spend almost 4 hours to get rental. It is freezing outside and they keep everyone waiting outside the building. The staff was chatting all the time, move slow, and no one care much about customers.
It was a chaos, I can tell they have no preparation for the high volume of arriving customers. I even saw someone lost his kid and yelling. Someone cut the line, no staff try to stop them, which make the waiting even longer.
I hope they can improve their efficiency and don't let us wait this long.
I didn't think it was possible for a company to be so incompetent and apathetic in performing basic customer service but, yes, i was wrong. Mountain Creek management essentially abandoned myself, a fellow skier, and a dad with his 3 kids at one of their locations.
Today's website states "Guests looking to return to Vernon and Granite Peak from South will need to do so by shuttle or can grab the Sojourn lift by taking Race Trail to Buddy's way as described above." Nevertheless, before going to the south peak I confirmed with the associate staffing the customer service counter at that Vernon location if the shuttle was running. There was some initial confusion but she made a phone call then assured me that shuttles will be available after 3pm to transport guests as noted on their website. So, I skied over to the south peak and lodge. At 4pm I walked over to the shuttle waiting area where i was told that the shuttle is not running. I proceeded over to the customer service counter where i was told that there is no shuttle service. After much back and forth, confusion on the part of the staff, contradictory information, several calls to their dispatch office and approximately 1 hour of waiting for the shuttle that supposedly runs every 15 minutes I eventually had to bum a ride with a lady that was also stuck there and whose husband had to drive up to take her home.
Their website still states the quote that i posted. Their employee at one location confirmed the statement after getting confirmation from HER supervisor. And yet her counterpart located 2 miles down the road performing the same function at the same company provides the opposite information. The worst part is that even after the situation and mixup was brought to their attention the representatives at the resort STILL DID NOTHING to provide transportation even though they have a fleet of buses anyone of which could have been sent in order to solve the problem. Go spend your skiing dollars somewhere else...unless you wouldn't mind having your spouse & kids abandoned at a ski area.
***updated 2/7/2019 *** Much to their credit, a Mountain Creek representative contacted me (as they said they would) and has taken steps to made amends for this unfortunate experience. My compliments to the Mountain Creek staff for addressing this in a professional, straight forward manner. See you on the slopes.
I went there for the water park and it was terrible the lines were way to long and the sides weren't even that good the park must find a different way to deal with crouds
Still some fun. The state keeps trying to make what remains of Action Park into a regular over-regulated water park. Big cliff jump is no more, Tarzan swing gone. Cannonball drops gone. Action Park was 5 stars. Mountain Creek is 3 at best, by next year they'll make it a 2. The state will continue to water it down till it's just another kiddie water park. It's a shame.
o. m. g. this place is just not set up for large crowds. oversold tickets for a holiday weekend, resulting in insane wait times to (a) pick up pre-ordered lift tickets, (b) pick up rentals, and (c) lift rides. will never be back here, unless it's free. and then maybe only on a weekday.
This mountain is pretty large. It has three different peaks: North, South, and Bear. South and Bear typically have the more advanced skiers since South contains the majority of the park features and Bear has several areas where skiers compete. The North peak typically is more crowded because the bigger lodge and parking lot are closer. The lift from the South to the North side takes a while but the mountain also provides shuttles which run frequently. The mountain gets very crowded during the weekends and even so on weekday nights because they have night skiing. Because of the amount of people, it gets pretty icy as it gets late. There are also many flat areas on the mountain which gets inconvenient if you do not catch speed before the section. The mountain offers half priced tickets on Tuesdays which is definitely nice if you live close enough to the mountain to go for a few hours.
Lots of fun rides offered here, plenty of thrilling rides and good times. Unfortunately the Cliff Jumps and Tarzan swing were permenatly closed. Those were the best rides and will be missed
MC water park was reallyyy fun...few rides but all are good...its more beneficial to get the season pass. It also has awesome river and water playground for small kids. Loved it!
Great environment for families! Ski, snowboard, tube in the winter is excellent fun. Consider bringing snacks unless you don't mind spending$10 on a cheeseburger (they are good though) and a backpack unless you'd prefer a $20 locker. I bought my family season passes and it's well worth it.
5 stars because it's the best for what it is. close to the city, good for a half-full day skiing, decent amount of trails for so close. but if you can, go to vermont or even better out west
This place is a crazy mess. I don't know if it was because it was a nice warm sunny Saturday afternoon. If that's the case, be prepared to wait on super long lines and the crowd! It took us an hour and a half to get checked in and our ski rentals, which made us late to our ski lesson. The staff at check-in and rentals are nice enough so, I'll give them one star for that. I'll give them another star cause even though we were a half hour late to our lesson they were willing to accommodate us and give just my group (a 10-year-old, two 8-year-olds and 2 adults, including me) a lesson. I was thrilled and thankful they were willing to accommodate us like this especially since we had a 5-year-old at Kids camp and was trying to correspond our lesson time with our 5-year-old.
However, our enthusiasm and appreciation for this accommodation quickly got squashed by our instructor. He was NOT AT ALL encouraging or supportive for first-time skiers. First of all, they need to have separate classes for ages 8 - 12. That age group is thrown in with adults in group classes and kids just learn differently, and at a different pace. I was shocked at how well my nephews and niece held it together with all the instructor's negativity. I'm so glad I took the lesson with them cause I felt I had to be there just to counter all his negative comments and have them not be discouraged. Second, I don't know if it was just our instructor or all the instructors but they need to be better trained in teaching! I don't know how anyone could leave feeling confident after the poor instruction we had. It was totally useless. Thank God, my brother (who didn't take the lesson) took the kids off to ski on his own for a little bit and they returned much happier. So, I recommend skipping the lesson and having an experienced skier/snowboarder friend teach you instead. Unless you're lucky enough to not get the instructor we had. Hopefully, they aren't all this terrible.
Also, the lines to return skis and boots are just as long as getting them. So, be prepared to wait for that too! Food is average and typical cafeteria food. Long lines for this too. Good luck finding seating as well.
3/6/2018 Updated review 4 stars Ok, we returned since we had a Discover Package for 3 anytime lift tickets, group lesson, and rentals. This time around our experience was SO much better. We went on a Sunday late afternoon and there were ZERO lines! This time they actually separated ages 8-12 from the adults in our group lesson and gave them their own instructor! I don't know if they actually read these reviews or have gotten the same complaint from others if so, they listened! My adult group got the instructor Laurent and he had an assistant instructor, Steve, for our group of 8. Laurent was an excellent instructor compared to the one we had the last time we were here. He was positive, had a fun demeanor and I actually LEARNED! Steve was encouraging and pleasant too. In just this lesson, Laurent taught us proper body positioning, how to stop, turn and link turns, compared to my last lesson where I learned absolutely nothing.
My nephews and niece returned from their lesson quite happy too! They got Alex as their instructor and my niece said he was 10,000 times better than the last and that they were also taught the same things I was taught in my lesson.
Just these lessons alone, this time around, changed our experience a complete 180. Especially since I vowed to never return to this place if our second-time had been a complete bust too, and my nephews and niece were entirely reluctant and unwilling to take a second lesson after our last experience. I'm so glad they did!
I only docked off one star this time cause after getting our skis you have to go outside to another area to get poles, and even though it was a short line I didn't find it quite efficient. I don't know why they just don't give us the poles when you get your skis.
I came here for a day of mountain biking and man, was it worth the 3 hour drive!! The trails are diverse and range from beginner to expert. All trails are well marked. Some of the trails have breaking bumps but that's expected with the traffic this bike park receives. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Amenities are nice and well kept.
