I love this waterpark, I've been going here since childhood, despite it's several reopenings. The bike path is awesome too, if you're into that, but it's worth it just to rife the gondola up and down for the view. My biggest complaint about the park is that you need to be prepared for uphill hiking to get from one ride to the next. Oh and the water is always FREEZING. Definitely plan ahead for what you want to do and bring with you to each area and get a locker. The new Zero-G ride is terrifying but awesome!!!!

I loved the way the staff treated me and the views are awesome! I went for the ziplining tour, but it was mild as the incline the line was on wasn't too steep or long. Still, for a first time zipline experience, it was excellent.
I was very disappointed. The prices went up since last time we went, the service, rides got worse and there was no more lockers available and the pool was over capacity. Most of the rides were closing before closing time because of high wait times. We climbed to the top of the hill to go on slides to come to find out we would have to walk all the way back down the hill to have to carry out tubes all the way up again. The park should definitely invest in elevators that can transport these tubes up. The slopes are so step to walk up and to have to carry these heavy tubes under the extreme heat with no water is a lot. There was a lot of trash everywhere, inside the water and it was just an overall bad experience. Not worth $47.
Went to Mountain Creek for skiing. Loved those place. The instructors were amazing. At the need of the end of the day, I could do skiing by mself. The track has 3 levels namely - beginner, intermediate and advance. The equipment provided was top notch. Will surely visit this place next winter.
we ordered a table for 7 people people were left behind us and we were still waiting after 1.5 h the waitress ordered to sit on the side. we placed the order and we got 40 minutes without any cutlery .... Okey we paid and we left the right tip. after which the waitress came to us and said brazenly that we left her for a friend for a little tip .. I do not recommend the waiters do not like the food old because we were poisoned ... terribly
First time skiing in about ten years. Had a decent time. Mountain Creek provides very freeform lessons, or rather beginners' stations by their bunny hill. I wish they had higher level lessons and better equipped first-timers to go on slopes. It's a pretty view up and it was a tumultuous way down for me; I thought the "Slow" path meant that the slope would help me slow down and was very confused when I ended up faster. Nope, it means to proceed with caution.
The slope often split into three: a steeper path (the aforementioned "Slow" path), an easy path, and the black diamond path.
The hot chocolate is good and the inside staff were really friendly. Outside staff seemed to have good camaraderie with each other but were not that engaged with the skiers/snowboarders, even the instructors.
Has a resort hotel and big dining floor. Convenient and not far to go from easiest route to advanced route. Has motorized track to help learners learn skills quickly in lessons.
This institution was very unorganized and a few of the staff on the tubing area were rude. When entering the park the attendants at the parking booth had no idea where the buses should park for tubing. On getting to the tubing site, the attendants did not give clear directions that patrons could proceed to tube down the hill upon a signal from the attendant above. We fount this out 2 hrs after when half of our group didnot get to go down the run at all. This is unfortunate as we were a group of 50 and most of the time had been wasted on learning logistics.
Seems like the slope report was far off when it came to how thick the base was when we visited. But It seems like a typical thing that happens a lot with this place (take a look at the reviews). Staff was unatentive when it came to others butting there way through the lines (not cool - they definitely saw it happen but still did nothing). Many trails opened that shouldn't have been. It was a horrible ordeal watching others falling down one after the other on one trail.... Just horrible. Ski patrol no where to be found. Unmarked hazards on trails. I will not be returning back to this mountain anytime soon.
We went snow tubing at Mountain Creek yesterday. It is not built properly and is extremely dangerous. They did not build enough room at the bottom for the tubes to stop. My husband smashed into the inflatable tube and flipped over. The inflatable tube is the only thing preventing you from rolling into the road. He hurt his neck, so we decided not to go back up. As we were leaving we passed a woman who was bleeding from her face. I heard several people talk about how their necks hurt on the shuttle bus back to the parking lot. Don't go snow tubing here.
Thank you for taking care of our birthday party Ms.Ellen. You gave us excellent customer service and a fun representative. We had a blast with our birthday girl for her sweet 16!
My husband and I went to Mountain Creek for skiing and snowboarding last season. We chose this place because the closest one from nyc, just 1.5 hour!
We visited there 6 times, mostly on Monday. Monday was Great, because very less people came usually. The Last season had much more snowing than before the last season, so That was great! We really enjoyed skiing and snowboarding on the soft snow. We all crossed over four peaks, Vernon, South, Granite, and Bear. That made us really fun. There were not small ski area. You can enjoy trying to go all 4 peaks. Also, French fries was very yammy. I definitely go back next winter!!! I very higly recommend this place.
Several pools, gym, spa, hotel, and restaurants. Ultimate relaxation. I treated myself to full body massage and for weeks I felt the lasting effects! I look forward to going again sometime this summer
awesome terrain park on the south side of the mountain. Even better staff, David Mckeever at the south lodge was extremely funny, knew everything and really helped us out.
Action Park is a really excellent place. The park is very clean, and in a beautiful location. There are some very unique water slides and attractions such as Tarzan Swings and Cliff Jumps. The lifeguards and slide attendants are professional, attentive, and explain correct technique - to avoid injury.
Things to consider: the park is built on a hill side, so there is often somewhat steep uphill walking to get to different areas. Also, if you need to get something from your car, it is a good hike back across the RT94 overpass to the parking lot - and back again. So try to remember everything you need when you first enter. There are lockers near the Tidal Wave Pool.
This place has 0 customer service. I've been buying a triple play every year. This year they didn't mail it out and even after a emailing and calling I'm still left with no card. If anything goes wrong with your exp or purchases don't expect customer to go out of their way to do any thing to correct their mistake or help you. I pretty much just donated $99 to them this year.
Amazing rides! Saw the video online and was a bit scared before I got there but then saw how they take safety so seriously I wasn't scared at all. Don't miss the zero gravity ride and the Colorado river!
This place was beautiful and relaxing. The scenery is amazing. I went horseback riding there was Pools and jacuzzis. Perfect place to get away. Only sad part was I didn't get to enjoy any of the many restaurants they have near by.
It may not have the charm and size of other mountains but it does put a big effort out to please even though Jersey weather gets worse every year for boarding. So really you only have a 2-3 month span for winter activities
this is a great place close to home to learn how to ski or ride. the north peak gets very crowded on the weekends and also long lines on their gondola lift considering it is the main that takes you up to the peak, there is a triple chair which has to be ridden to on a short flat and the lift is very slow. The gondola is a walk off lift, so many new riders take that lift to the peak even though they should stick to the sugar slopes. food is very expensive and over fried. from the north peak there is a trail that can be taken to granite, which is usually amazing and a less crowded area and from Granite(middle peak) you can take a very long flat run to South mountain is a full out park bias mountain, although features can be ridden around. bear mountain is always good for short lines and a short ride as it is the smallest peak. at north there is an outdoor bar, Biergarten and an indoor bar and restaurant called Schuss and a gourmet restaurant, Hawks Nest and their kind of "fast food" serving called the Market. At south peak, there is a bar and restaurant called Kink. as well as a cafeteria style food serving in there lower level.
Good because it s close to NYC and easy to get to. Bad because the snow sucks...because it s NJ. Make sure you go after a snowstorm or be prepared for a lot of ice. Also, their food court is amazingly over priced.
Very that the place exists for those would like to go snowboarding without having to drive all the way to VT. The equipments are very well maintained, constantly cleaned and sanitized. For that, it deserves 5 stars.
My 5 year old loves skiing here. The terrain is just right for him. Being from Seattle, I find the mountain pretty easy, but it's challenging enough to make it an exciting time.
We were trying to find a nice place close to New York City where we didn t have to quarantine. We had an amazing time this place is awesome the staff is great will be coming back soon.
Disappointed they took away the Jr. Rapids and replace it with nothing but a boring pool. One day it was full with a life guard and no one in it. Probably because there was nothing welcoming about it. Looks like a watering hole. It needs something inviting to intice the tweens to want to use it. Huge thumbs down for that. There's not even any signage saying that there is construction going on for something. Now it's just an empty pool with mud at the bottom!! Also the new waterfall water feature at the entrance of the park is beautiful but given that there's not that much for the young kids to do it would have been nice to see another small attraction for younger kids. The ones that are too big for the kiddie pool and the hook play area but too small to go on other things alone.
Need more DIVERSE crews/guide so that people get equal respect and help.
We had bitter experience during rental purchase center by a girl at the first counter just after the video lesson room. Rude and was not friendly throughout. And found some of them (young crew) don't ready to help people during any issue/ queries.
we were there for the 1st time and were judged during lesson rather than getting proper guidance. The lesson and the trainers do not allow enough clear instructions and time for the 1st timers to get comfortable.
Need more maintained ski trail and managed areas.
There was a slope covered by black ice just at the exit of ski rental. found less snow more gravel of ice. have seen at least 6 people injured in a matter of half an hour.
Among some of the good thing's
One elderly lady at the rental purchase and the waiver signing section was really helpful.
One of the instructor at the lesson section was willing to help but his shift was short during our visit.
during an accident there (my wife fell on the black ice near ski rental) was EMS available and EMS crew (couple of them) were really caring.
So in short ,not good for beginners/newbies. Need more people safety measures. Diverse and active, cooperative crew members are desired so that people of all races and experience can choose this place as their entertainment destination.
I chose this park for the trip with my kids and nieces based on fairly good reviews. Omg, there should be a fitness requirement for park admission. It is so hilly and everything is so spread out. Unfortunately, after spending over 250$ on admission, we were not able to enjoy the park and left quickly. Kids complained about having to go uphill for every single ride and I felt like I was ready to pass out from heat and exhaustion. I am giving it 2 stars only because the park looked clean and well maintained.
Good place to ski if you already practiced before. I went skiing for the first time and the small slope was closed. Result: I didn't enjoy the skiing in the big slope...
Oktoberfest is so much fun every year! The market feast package gets you a huge plate of food, and the beer selection is wide. The atmosphere is fun, for any age. You cannot take glass steins on the ski lift -- plastic is okay.
Why would mountain Creek stop the shuttle service between north and south. You stranded me and at least an entire school bus full of young skier's. What are you thinking!!!
Snow tubing was a bit more expensive than other locations in the general area. The slopes were great the lines were long. If you are accompanying others but not tubing you have to wait outside in the open elements by a fire pit no protected shelter.
Disclosure: I went to splash down the day prior with my wife, 2 yr old son and 3 yr old daughter.
plan at least an hour to get from the parking lot to your first ride/ wave pool as buying online still results in a wait.....in the full sun....
adult rides looked fun and the park looks nice.
three of the rides that may have been small kid safe were closed.
child splash pad and river were nice.
alcoholic beverage service was a 15 minute wait.
a $10 chicken sandwich was two chicken fingers on a dry hamburger bun with nothing else????
lastly! the bathrooms / changing area where putrid. my daughter peed in the bushes three times as I did not feel safe using the restroom with her. wet. horrible smell, rusty corners. better toilets in city gas stations. i wish i took a photo.
Very long waiting lines on the weekends and somewhat long lines on the weekdays. I only come on Christmas and super bowl Sunday as these two days are the only days where I am not waiting 30 min to get on the lift. Very close and an overall good skiing experience for something less than an hour away.
My son and I come as often as we can. We just bring our full suspension trail bikes and stick to the greens and blues. Maybe one day we'll get downhill/enduro bikes but we're having a great time on our bikes. I wouldn't ride on a hardtail or old bike though. It's a blast and probably my son's favorite weekend destination. Never experienced lines for the lift and we always get burgers and beers at the restaurant.
(there are plenty of positive reviews by 'Local Guides' ? This s a real review by local family that visited 2.18.18) Every time we come here it gets worse and worse. This trip is the last straw and we will be driving 1/2 further to another mountain. 1. if approaching the Mt from route 515, then turning left on route 94 towards the ski area, it is an utter grid lock for no good reason. . There are a ton of cars but traffic is super slow since no one guiding and drivers are super slow not knowing where to turn for available parking. 2. Once you pass the main parking that should have taken 2 min but took 20min and heading to south mt if you own equipment, parking is a free for all. Again, there is no one directing traffic, and since more cars than available spots, cars are parked on fire lanes as well as blocking some cars in. There are also massive pot holes and muddy water covering most of the parking lot. 3. You finally get to the lodge to get tickets and the line is a mile long. We had prepaid online but we were told to wait in the same line. After waiting 1 1/2 hours when you get close to the customer service desk, then the line split off to the left for online ticket holder vs. regular ticket purchasers which is utterly ridiculous!. It is the President's weekend! With big crowd expected, couldn't they figure out a better system so that customers can spend more time on the slopes?? 4. Some trails should be closed down: Charlie's Run/ Doe Run was super patchy with rocks and boulders exposed and saw plenty of people falling. It really is a wonder how they can run this mountain without people really hurting themselves and suing them.. Did not see one ski patrol the entire time we were skiing various trails. It is really not worth the effort/ money to come here.
Affordable pricing, but a few of the rides seem like they could bang you up a little if you're not careful, like hitting legs into walls, etc. The rides are overall incredibly fun, making great use of physics to move you faster or higher than you thought possible! Wear shoes or sandles because the mountain will cut up your feet otherwise!
