I have been a patient here for over 10 years, during which time my hearing has required a lot of attention I have had three sets of hearing aids and most recently had a cochlear implant. I m the kind of person who asks a million questions before I can make a decision

1. Vanderbilt is always on the cutting edge for technology, in testing and in their recommendations.
2. In all of my visits I never felt rushed or pressured.
3. They explained my situation and the options in clear language, and were always patient with me.
4. I have been able to keep up my work life and my personal life despite serious loss of hearing, thanks to them
5. They have daily walk-in clinics, which have been helpful when I have had technical problems with devices.
i highly recommend them without any qualification

The front desk receptionist would takes calls is extremely rude and questions why as a patient you are calling to make an appointment. As a fellow Vanderbilt Medical Center Employee, I think her behavior is unacceptable and she needs more training to have a kind attitude that matches Vanderbilt s Creedo.

I filled out a form online to request an appointment. I received a call back right away from a fellow who seemed eager to get me taken care of...but I missed the call. I called in today at 2:31 with hopes of setting up an appointment but was told by the receptionist that if I was not already a patient I would probably have a hard time getting an appointment. What am I supposed to say to that? She then said it would depend on insurance and the doctors. Uhmmm....yeah. ? I know that's a possibility, there's always a possibility that we can't get what we want - but I thought her role was to try to help me see if I *could* get an appointment. She then asked why I needed to see someone - note, at this point she hadn't taken any of my information - and then began saying, "Hello? Hello? I can't hear you..." Which just seemed like bs since she didn't want to help me from the beginning - plus I was on a landline, there's nothing wrong with the phone on my end and I doubt Vanderbilt has faulty intake phones. Whatever. Why are people like this? Of course she disconnected and now I guess I'll go somewhere else, or more likely, continue to postpone my health. Not that it really matters in the grand scheme of things, this is one unprofessional employee among thousands...but when you feel slighted you don't know what to do, and it just sucks to be talked to like that, it really does....so you write a review, cause there's nothing else you can do. Oh well.

I had an appointment today, June 18th which was apparently cancelled. I was called a week or so ago and was told my doctor would be out of office and would I like to see another person in the office. At first I told her I did not like to change but she said since it was only a checkup and not a problem, I could see her and then see my regular doctor from then on. I said ok, I would do that and she said to come in at the same time, 10 am. when I got to the office this morning, I was told I did not have an appointment scheduled. I told her what happen, she just said, I'm sorry but there was nothing she could do.

I am reviewing the hearing aid I purchased through the Bill Wilkerson Center. It is Quantum in the ear hearing aid. It has a piece on the end that is called the vent and can detach from the aid. I have had it come off twice and the Vanderbilt clinic fixed it. This week it came off in my ear and was so deep it was laying on my ear drum. When I called they advised me to go to the ER or a ENT. It took both to get it out. The ER tried and could not remove it and sent me to an ENT who got it out. I now have bleeding and a week of healing. What's really upsetting is I went to Consumer Affairs site on this brand and it says "This company is not yet accredited." I made the assumption Vanderbilt would only offer accredited company products. I have requested an attorney to contact me. This is not a safe product to purchase.

At first, problem with my name and appt. However, they were so attentive and efficient in finding problem and correcting it. My total experience was wonderful. Got my hearing aides in 2 weeks from first appt. Dr. Whitney was fantastic. Very informative and patient- friendly! I am very happy to hear normally again!
