Hi I was very surprised with service in er my daughter had a emergency csection on monday and was discharged on Wednesday at 1 and then we were leaving and about 2 hours later complaining of bad head aches and stomach pain so we called ambulance and got her picked up and brought to er and was told there were too many people in front of her and she had to wait so I keeped asking if they could see her and they keeped saying full rooms and that there were persons more in emergency than her so was like that for a long while then I decided to call to labor and delivery and talk to nurse and they came for her right away it if wasnt cause of them never know what could have happened to my daughter In very unhappy with service in er.

My daughter's Dr. made an appt. for her to have a biopsy at 1pm on 10-2. When she checked in they said her appojntment was at 2pm. So she's early right. The radiology waiting room cleared out with her syill sitying there. When she went and checked to see if they forgot her they acted surprised. That was at 2:45. The receptionist was going to remind someone that she was still waiting. It's now 3pm and she is finally being called in.
This is horrible.

The Dr.s, nurses and staff were very professional and supportive.
The rooms however need to be revamped. I was there several years ago and they look shoddy now and hard to tell if they're cleaned well. The cardiac wings and others should be updated as well.
Please make more improvements on future parking. Add a few parking garages with elevators and a crossover for patients, visitors, etc.

Had to visit the ER during our winter texan experience and was very pleased with the level of care I received. Anyone who visits the ER and doesn't expect to do some waiting is being overly optimistic. I was signed in promptly and seen when it was my turn. The doctor, nurses, and techs who attended to me were professional, polite, and caring. No one wants to go to the ER but if you have to go you can't ask for much more than that. Thanks Valley Baptist, my awful Sunday has turned into a pretty good Monday thanks to you.

My son went to the er for a cut , I later received a bill for $914 which stated as being for er visit. Paid it only to later learn that the er visit was $10,547 and this bill was for a Dr. I NEVER SAW! $11,000 for some cleanser and glue.

Horrible service.

Horrible service.
I lost my son on 4/15/18 due to a miscarriage... When I arrived I had told them my water had broke and that I had heavy bleeding. The lady upfront was extremely rude and said I was "ok" to wait for my turn ( I was probably the 10th one in line.) I waited and waited until they finally took me. Once in a room a very rude nurse came to tell me to be quiet. To stop complaining and that everything was going to be ok. Once I had the last contraction I told her I had felt my baby come. She didn't believe me until she lift the sheet and saw my son laying there.. The process after that wasn't any better. I'm sure something could've been done but their service was completely awful.

Went in for prostate surgery. From the very start when they called to preregister on the phone to when I left the hospital I was treated with the upmost respect and care. The nurses and aides were FANTASTIC. I had a choice of going to the Mcallen - Edingburg area hospitals or Harlingen. I'm so glad I chose VBMC!

I recently visit family and I can't express enough how HOT the waiting area was on the 2nd floor in the back area. We had to hold the door with a chair to get some of that cool air in the room. I recommend for the hospital to add clear boxes with locks on the thermostat temperature control with a sign explaining why the temp has to be high so people know and try not to brake the box, like they say people do. The main reason hospitals are kept cold is that bacterial and germs. So why not do what needs to be done to help prevent that. Also a little more security would also be nice. Besides that I seen a great staff.

I've been in cardiology wing three times over the last 6 weeks. Everyone was pleasant, caring, efficient and I never got any hint of anything other than caring....

As for the ER, I've needed to go in three times in the last six weeks. ER's have to triage people treating those with urgent needs first. IT IS NOT a Doctors office!! You want to know why ER's are slow? Look at who comes in there! It's an EMERGENCY Room not a Igoherebecauseit'sfree room. Far too many people think the ER is their personal Dr's office and think they should be handled in the order they come in. They could care less if the person behind them is bleeding or whatever... In other words, you if you want fast treatment at the ER? Go only when you are having a true emergency... not when you have sniffles..

I was in the Dr at valley baptist in Harlingen on August 24th with very high blood pressure and a fractured back. Everyone was properly masked up even the EMTs. Everything was super clean and everyone was super careful and very attentive. I have been going to valley baptist for 25 years for everything including the birth of my daughter who had a perfect score of 10. The care has always been beyond excellent. This time was no different. I had the most wonderful doctor(Dr. Andrew Coyne) wow he was thorough and took such good care of me. I was very confident with his care and diagnosis. I had been struggling for 5 month in terrible pain to find out what was wrong with me. We are very lucky to have such an excellent hospital in the valley. They have saved my life and the life of my son several time. Even resuscitating him once , bringing him back to life. I highly recommend Valley Baptist Medical Center to anyone. I was taken by ambulance to Harlingen Medical one time when I was to out of it from pain of a severe break in my ankle. It honestly was a nightmare. I would have died if my sister hadn't been there to tell them they had given me the wrong medication and stopped the from doing doing the surgery until the next day. Then I was promptly ignored by staff for the next 8 days. In pain and confused. There is so much more I could say, but I just thank God for Valley Baptist Medical center!

I gave birth to my son on 9-9-2019 approximately 2 weeks ago,it is my 5th child and I've never experienced a hospital as in this one. I don't know where to begin,it all felt like a bad dream wanting to just wake up from. There were so many interns not knowing what they were doing. I felt every bit of pain delivering my son all the nurse kept saying was the person giving me the epidural would be on its way finally they arrived hrs later I got the epidural had my son 10 min later!! I felt everything but this isnt what was the worse, my nurse wasn't helpful through my labor process she was mean, and careless. I delivered my baby 2 hrs later got moved upstairs from the time my baby was born he never went to a nursery I believe they said they didn't have one, i was in pain so nurse practically insisted that I take 2 Tylenols 3 and a ibuprofen and stool softener for pain I felt horrible after that, noone came back to check on see how I was doing until about 2 hrs later then knowing I got sick from it ,I was vomiting headache even my blood pressure went high. I left hospital exactly 24 hrs after giving birth I asked repeatedly that I wanted my son circumsized but there were "NO DOCTORS" to do that for me! Not even my own OBGYN came to see how I was before leaving hospital, the food was the worst they just came in and brought me whatever I couldn't order anything. I was just ready to leave this hospital! There was a lady whom looked & acted racist who came to check on my baby about twice in the room. She looked like she hated her job!! I finially was told I would be getting discharged soon signed papers to leave. Nurse comes in and tells me that baby's receiving blanket and birth shirt must stay that i may not take it I must put on clothes I brought!! Secounds from leaving nurse comes in to do a jaundice test !!? Like really I'm about to leave !! They put me in a wheelchair I wait on my my vehicle to get to the front she just leave me there not making sure my baby is tied and strapped in. So I leave this hospital hoping noone I know comes delivers there baby here what was supposed to be the happiest day wasn't with this hospital it was the worst experience I've had ever had. I'm just blessed I have my baby and he is well other than being born with red around his eyes because of the pain of natural birth because epidural doctor practically never got there timely!!

Don't see the point of temperature checks and questions at main doors if once in drs office all covid precautions are not taken. The waiting lobby at Dr. Rafael Villalobos office is ridiculously full and I have the photos to prove it. The children along with parent have to wait over 2-3 hrs sometimes more to be seen. They are children with disabilities and or behavior disorders they are unable to be still for that amount of time much less keep a mask on. They are obviously over booking. But even if this review gets a response, I am more than sure this office will continue to work in this manner during the pandemic.

I went in because I was having a huge amount of lower abdomen pain.i had recently found out i was pregnant and was worried for the baby of course. I get there and the front staff is wonderful. However when I get to the back and wait I get not only a rude doctor but she belittle me and my pregnancy pains. She said and I quote " your pregnant not handicapped" and began blaming my grandmother on putting things in my head to make me worry. Not only that they told me since i was only 5 weeks at the time, for all I know I might not be fully pregnant. She began to tell me to get over it and told me to leave. Not only do the doctors there not care but they lack empathy for a first time mother who was both concerned and afraid on what was happening to her. I have since then recommended people to never go there nor think about using it to deliver my first born at all. Will never go there again. If I could I would give a negative 10 star.

Hospital itself i give a 2-3 stars. Valley Baptist is of course known for its low income and no insurance patients. We all know it. Thats what kind of hospital it is so you cannot expect much from it. Now this is for the hospital as a whole. However I have got to tell everyone that they DO have some great people working there. Dr. Sonia Martinez has got to be one of the best and most caring Doctors i have met. She was great in the hospital and even let me ask her medical advice and questions once we went home. Dr. Martinez please do not ever change and you are truly appreciated. Dr. Martinez is 5 stars all day.

My review is strictly on my experience with the billing department at Valley Baptist. I ve been dealing with my situation for 5 months now. During my pregnancy I developed gestational diabetes and my Dr referred me to Valley Baptist for a class on how to use the glucose tester and a nutrition class. Before attending it was confirmed that my insurance would be covering the cost. A month later a get a bill. The finance department agrees misinformation was given to me by one of their reps however they refuse to take responsibility for their mistake. I have had no help or solutions from them. I have reported them to the BBB hoping to get results. I will never use this hospital ever again if I have a say so.

For being a Christian hospital, they will be judged by God for blasphemy. If you are in pain or in need of any information about your spouse, do not go to this hospital. My husband had to call me in the middle of the night to bring him pain meds, since they were not addressing his pain. I have talked to the House Supervisor, tried to get ahold of the Charge Nurse to see if he has anything scheduled for today. Can't get any answers. I will dismiss him myself, since I have a Medical Power Of Attorney, and bring him home to rupture or die. This hospital doesn't care!!!!

No matter what questions you have, they will always be rude, place you on hold for minutes. And hang up. (Because they are to busy with other clients) at Emergency Center.

First night my Father (Alzheimer's) was sent from Harlingen Nursing and Rehabilitation Center with COVID! After hours they called back, finally gave me a staus on my Father.

The next weeks were absolutely the hardest, not being able to do ANYTHING to change places with him and know what he felt, how they were treating him....! I always had someone to answer my call, my queations on his health, and most importantly the truth. Even when they thought he might not make it..

My Dad (Hero) 82 years old, was intubeated for 20 + days, had to so say goodbye.. God never blinks, thank God and all the Doctors in ICU, all the nurses CILLA, YESS, JENIFFER, JULIO, SHAWNEY... DAD is at Weslaco nursing and rehabilitation center breathing on his own and fighting as he always thaugt me to do.

The RNs & LVNs on the 3rd Floor were compassionate and very attentive to me while I was in for gallbladder removal and my stay for throat trauma. Neilly is awesome!

The CNAs could use some patient etiquette training and learn to be more understanding. Other than that, great hospital, doctors and nurses!

Thanks!

Came in to ER to have PEG tube looked at we were told it might have gotten displaced/dislodged. What should have been an easy procedure (outpatient), my husband still remains in the hospital three days later with no food and all I m being told is that there is no in house GI dr that can assist at the moment. My husband s PEG tube was inserted here and yet when there are complications three weeks later assistance is to no avail. Very disappointed that at my husband s expense assessment is very slow. What if the tube has puncture the stomach and three days later we are still waiting for an assessment from the GI team.

Belittling and condescending attitude by Doctor. Requested VA pain meds that VA TOLD them I would need 3 times. Waited 3 hours, asked 3 times. Finally forced to leave in order to get my meds. On Gabapentin, MED CANNOT BE STOPPED COLD TURKEY. CAN CAUSE SEIZURES AND DEATH.
Wouldn't recommend this hospital to my worst enemy. Nurses were good. Waited for a total of 8 hours in almost constant pain.
Doctor wouldn't listen, spoke over me numerous times, treated me like an idiot.

I have a relative hospitalized in this hospital, the medical attention is good except for a small setback that my relative had with a doctor yesterday, Sunday, July 15, and also the attention to the families of the sick who live far away is very bad, when one asks about the condition of the patient, they answer that it is by law that they cannot inform you ....., PERSONALLY I FEEL A BITTER TASTE IN MY MOUTH THE TREATMENT IN THIS HOSPITAL .... !!!!!

Rude nursing staff. Very inconvenient for patient families to have to park far away because employees take up the front south tower patient pick up area which has a time limit of 15 min. Yet it s fine for employees to park there during their 12 hr shift. A female in green scrubs (obviously not an RN) named Adriana Lissette Davila in a black Nissan Versa parks there numerous times that I ve gone there. I would expect employees to be courteous and selfless for those that are in need of those spaces.

Horrible horrible hospital! I hope I never have to go here for anything serious because they are not equipped to handle anything other than the basic cold. Level of care is nothing compared to other hospitals. No one here has heard of bedside manner or has any compassion. There is a reason people leave The Valley to seek medical attention. It s terrible here. Their excuse is always they are short staffed and need more nurses. Their physicians obviously barely passed medical school or received their degree from a joke of a university or another country. Don t ever go here!!! Seek medical care in McAllen if you must stay in the Valley otherwise make the drive to the Houston Medical Center.

I gave birth to my son on 9/27/17, and the experience was horrible. Nurses taking forever, one nurse telling me she was gonna get me the epidural that night but it wasn't until the next day. Another nurse after delivery telling me not to be giving "people a free show" because my breast was exposed to breastfeed my baby. Another nurse not giving me water after asking multiple times after delivery. Worst place to give birth at! For the love of God and everything that is good, if your doctor tells you to give birth here, refuse and be adamant to be taken to Harlingen Medical Center!

For some reason the medical, housekeeping, etc personnel don t clean up after themselves and or seem to like to do their job! I am very disappointed and appalled at the conditions and services my mother has and has not been provided there. I have a list!

We found a needle laying on my mother s bed beneath her back!

There was mold on the window panes! I ll let the pics speak for themselves!

The shower appeared filthy and unsanitary, like it hadn t been cleaned for months. It didn t help they rarely emptied out her bed pans into the toilet. The bed pans were left in the restroom without being to emptied. When they were emptied, they never bothered to flush flush the toilet. The left her bowel waste in the pans almost each time she went.

The floors were also disgusting, the room was completely filthy, & some of the nurses/CNAs were not very nice to my mother. They acted like she was inconveniencing them.

One CNA said it s the family s job to help clean up after the patient! Huh!? Put me on the payroll and I ll be happy to clean ALL the rooms!!!
My mother was in that room for 2 days and I am certain they didn t clean it prior to her being moved there and didn t clean it until after I complained. They also didn t bother to change her soiled sheets after my mother had a bath and just laid her back onto the same soiled sheets.

I m still working on getting her out of that horrible hospital. They are obviously understaffed but that s no excuse to treat patients like that!

My Grandmother went into the hospital and was ignored, denied food, water and even iv fluids. I came in from out of town late and they had shut the door to hear room and turned the ac completely off, when i arrived i was pouring sweat just sitting in the room. She was she was very thirsty so i hit the button to call the nurses to ask if i could give her water (didnt know if they werent giving her water so they could run a test or something) nurses didnt come forever because they didnt know i was in the room and were completely ignoring her. Her mouth was so dry her tongue was brown and her lips were stuck together. They shut the door and turned off the ac and left her to die. When i asked them about water i was told it was natural for old people to die of hunger and dehydration. Well thats true but not when they are still asking for food and water! For a "Christian" hospital there seems to be some torterous and almost evil things going on here! Where is the medical board? Why are these things allowed to happen there? Someone needs to answer for these injustices!

If I could give this facility 1/4 of a star I would. Unfortunately the patient care here has gotten worse as the years have passed. I was trying to get to the south tower tonight because my mother was staying by herself tonight and is scheduled for a procedure early morning so I made the decision to return and stay with her overnight. I am aware the south tower entrance closes by 10pm. So I proceeded to make my way to the south tower by going through the ER entrance and walk to my destination. I couldn't get to where I needed because a matinence crew was cleaning the floor and closed off the hallway to get to the south wing. Then I asked someone who I am assuming is a health care provider if there is another way to get to the south end and she said "the south entrance is way on the other side" of which I was well aware. I mentioned that the doors were closed so that was why I was taking this route to get there. After she noticed the workers and realized there was not another way she shrugged her shoulders and walked away. Then as she walked awayd she told me " well there are visiting hours " I would hate to be her patient - no kindness, no empathy for the people visiting loved ones or for the patients. Very disappointed.

I wish there was a way you could lower the rating ...

I wish there was a way you could lower the rating but Google only lets you rate the lowest one star. My overnight stay in the cardiology department started off mediocre until this morning. I am writing this review in the parking lot as I am leaving this hospital. First and foremost, I was not told that I would be on a liquid diet until 12 hours went by without me eating. Then I was told that I was brought a soup plate. This plate had been sitting there for hours without anyone informing me that it was food for me. Now I have a cold beef broth that has been sitting out and there is one flying driving me nuts so needless to say but I did not eat at all this day. I was not offered to reheat my food or another plate...just that I had until midnight, which was a couple hours away, before I had to fast.
The unprofessionalism this hospital showed states that there isn't even a common courtesy for the people that they are servicing. I was woken by a nurse for drawing blood. This nurse left. Within two minutes, my opposite arm where the iv was located starts to bleed uncontrollably. I am bleeding everywhere within seconds so I buzz for a nurse. Nothing happened. 15 minutes went by of me bleeding on the bed, floor, and across my body from me trying to untangle myself to get up and get outside so then maybe someone will see me. As soon as I open the door, the house keeping lady was at my door and my nurse. He had no idea what was going on and said he did not know why no one responded to me after so long. Another five minutes went by with me cleaning myself, then a nurse came on the speaker asking if I needed anything because I buzzed. I responded stating a do not need her and continued to clean myself. I told my nurse I was ready to leave since this was very unprofessional. He stated he understood and apologized on their behalf and did not know why no one at the desk was responding. I was given my paperwork to sign to leave and now I am here in this hospital parking lot explaining to anyone who reads this DO NOT GO TO THIS HOSPITAL FOR SERIOUS TREATMENTS!! UNPROFESSIONALISM AND NO REGARD FOR THAT!
- BY THE WAY FOR THE ONE WHO WILL COME TO SAY THAT THEY WILL LOOK INTO THIS SITUATION... MY NAME IS BRITTANY HERNANDEZ AND MY ROOM NUMBER WAS 1303 THIRD FLOOR SOUTH TOWER. LOOK INTO A RRASON WHY YOU HAD A PATIENT LEAVE THE HOSPITAL ASKING DOCTORS ORDERS

This is simply the worst hospital in the valley. My wife who is pregnant went to the ER due to severe shortness of breather. We are waiting on a test to see if she has a life threatening issue. We can't get results due to systems being down and when it does come up we were told we can't know the results until Monday (it's Friday) since no one is there to read them. This is completely unacceptable as my wife has a potential life threatening issue and this is ending in people giving us an "oh well" look. People are supposed to be on call for things like this, but I guess they can't be bothered. Now my pregnant wife and I are stuck trying to figure out how to get test results when no one is helping. She is clearly stressed by this. I don't understand how Valley Baptist can do this and not care.

Candace, who is supposedly a Nurse in the Emergenc...

Candace, who is supposedly a Nurse in the Emergency Room hung up on me after asking to be transferred to the charge nurse to express my displeasure to being on hold for 40 minutes and her own inadequacies. First Candace refused to tell me the name of the nurse who treated my mother. She stated she couldn't give out that information. Candace stated the nurse who treated my mother had left for the day although I had just been told about 15 minutes prior that she was with a patient. I am the Power of Attorney for my elderly mother who suffers from lukemia and has had open heart surgery within the last few years. Today she was transported to the Valley Baptist Medical Center by EMS for numbness in her left arm and chest pain that has gotten progressively worse over the last several days. She was then released about 4 hours later and told to follow up with her regular doctor. I live out of town and was trying to understand her diagnosis. Candace was unprofessional, unethical and lacks intergrity. I called back to speak the charge nurse once again and was transferred by someone else. This time spoke with Samantha who stated she was the charge nurse. Samantha stated she doesn't have access to the prior shifts roster or records of who the nurses treated that day. I believe this is another attempt to cover for a nurse who acted unprofessionally. Either that or Valley Baptist is incompetent and lacks the basic abilities of record keeping and the means of holding their employees accountable. I will be escalating my complaint to the Medical Director, House Supervisor and every other avenue at my disposal until Candace and the nurse who treated my mother are held accountable. They are a disgrace to the Medical profession and have clearly forgotten their Hippocratic Oath. They have forgotten what it felt like when they were applying for a job and hoping to be hired. I've never had such a poor experience with any hospital. These two nurses bring discredit to your organization and the medical profession. They are the epitomy of poor customer service.

Understaffed and unorganized. BEWARE: an ER trip may quickly turn into a 3 day prison sentence as you cant leave AMA or your insurance won't pay for amything, but you have to wait around for days while they get around to putting in orders and taking notes, even if the thing that led to you coming has already been resolved. ALSO: If you are unfortunate enough to end up here, please ask for your medicines at least 3 hours before you actually need them so they may possibly get to you on time. Back pain? These beds are guaranteed to make it worse! Especially after being condemned to sit in them for days. Dont worry, your pain meds might get to you eventually.
You are better off staying at home. This hospital will do more harm than good and then ask you to give them money for the pleasure of your stay in their kind hearted torture chambers.

A family member had surgery at VBMC. Coming from central Texas and with medical/HIPAA experience I found this hospital to be terrible. I would hate to be hospitalized there. Over the three days my family member was hospitalized there I saw several HIPAA violations. For example, patient paper charts laying out and open in hallways. There are some good nurses there but they look to be battling a hospital that is run down and running at bare minimum. For example, both rooms my family member was put in before and after surgery had broken window blinds. One had items like CPR shield missing. The East Tower's 3rd floor lobby water fountains don't work. My family member had nausea after surgery from anesthesia and the nurse said they were out of Zofran. Nausea after surgery is very common and you don't keep that in stock? I could go on.

My family member complained about the food quality and after seeing it myself I don't blame them. What was called oatmeal did not look like any oatmeal I have seen in all my years. I never went back to the cafeteria after trying one meal from it.

I give it two stars because some of the nurses are trying hard and my family member did not die while in the hospital's care.

I am at this ER now. EXTREMELY short staffed. No fault of the actual staff there are just no where near enough nurses. I waited two hours after the doctor came it to even start the treatment that he ordered. And then another hour and a half for the next treatment he ordered

Worst experience ever. I was taken to the Er via ambulance. I was rushed in and out of room literally. I was still attached to an IV and they had me sit in a waiting area for hours (while attached to an iv) the doctor spoke to me for no more than a minute and I literally had to voice than I had more questions to keep him from walking out. Then after hours of waiting nobody read any results to me, they said I can gain access to see them in a few days. I asked to speak to the doctor again because the person who was with me during the incident was there and could tell the doctor exactly what happened which was more than I could say. And the nurses refused to get me the doctor. Oh and this was after experiencing a seizure.

This place is such a disappointment. Everytime anyone in our family has been there in the past year, we've gotten terrible service. There is rarely a doctor to see you and when there is, they are the absolute worst. So unprofessional, not thoroughly inspecting patients or looking into symptoms. Rude, condescending staff (with a few exceptions). It's like they just don't care anymore. I remember visits in previous years they had done so well and been attentive with patients. I'm not sure what has changed, but the majority of the staff are terrible now. I don't have insurance, so it's extremely frustrating to feel like I'm just throwing my money away by going to this place.

I am giving them one star because talk about the worst hospital on earth. I went in for hypoglycemia incident and before I knew it I gave eight vials of blood. I also had to give a urine test which was hard with low blood sugar and the nurse was telling me if I couldn't do it myself I would have a tube stuck in to get it. I also was appalled with how they did not give a rats ass about the patients. The nurses just walked around like nothing was going on. I was there for over six hours and when I went in Colorado back in July I was there for less than two. This hospital was a load of crap their lobby was full of patients and the back of the er was pretty much empty. I would love to talk to the administrators but they don't care. I think a lawyer and a lawsuit might make them care.

My husband went in with a blood clot in his leg, pneumonia, and low sodium. They put him on Eliquis for the blood clot. They withheld his Flomax for five days and did nothing for the other problems. Five days later they discharged him with the same problems plus a catheter and the flu. He was carried to another hospital where these problems were addressed. However over 4 months later we are still dealing with the catheter and associated problems.

I was taken to the emergency room for a finger laceration here. They did not have any empathy for my situation. The doctor came if you can even call him that, after 30 minutes of my thumb bleeding out, and said there was nothing that could be done it would only regenerate 30%and that I had to go home and wash with soap and water. Also the piece of my thumb that I brought was thrown away because he said it was useless. I left and with a whole roll of gauss on my finger that was covered in blood and when going to be checkd out I told them you cant send me home like this. while they were switching the bloody gauss they were passing me the bill horrible. No respect for the patient. With my thumb with two rolls of gauss they sent me home. I left and went to the Christus Muguerza Hospital in Reynosa, Mexico and was taken to ER and straight to reconstructive Surgery with the Plastic Surgeon. I had tissue taken from another part of the thumb to recustruct and now my thumb look completley normal 100% recovery. 100% regeneration. Amazing experience and saw the surgeon 5 times after and it didnt cost me any more than what I paid for the surgery for the follow up visits.
Valley Baptist:
ER visit only given Gauss, told to go home and wash with soap and water - $2300 USD
Christus Muguerza Reynosa Mexico
ER visit
X-ray
Reconstructive Surgery
Sedative Anastesia to be unconcious.
5 Follow up visits
Medication
$1700 USD
I will definately go back to Christus Muguerza for any emergency and NEVER return to Valley Baptist. The worst Hospital I have ever visited. I hope the Director conducts a serious restructing of his team and strategy so the public can be given the proper care needed.

I'm only giving one star because I have to otherwi...

I'm only giving one star because I have to otherwise it will not let me write a review. Valley Baptist has got to be the worst hospital I've ever been to. My brother had a stroke and was airlifted there from CC. He was abused by their staff. He had brusies on his arms where they were holding him so tight. He even had a black eye. According to them he was combative. Well first of all they claim to be the best stroke unit for miles but yet they don't know a thing about stroke victims. They don't even have bedside manners. When someone is asleep and you go and pull the blanket off of them without saying anything WHAT do you think their reaction is going to be? I would get up swinging to. While I sat in the room with him I witnessed it myself. Several times. When I mentioned it to them they just looked at me like I was crazy. One night I get a call from one of the nurses to go sit with him because my brother was being combative. When I got there I asked her if she had explained to him what she was doing with before she touched him. She got very offensive and started arguing with me. In front of my brother. (At the top of her lungs) Again, no bedside manners. So she leaves the room telling me that she will not tolerate my behavior and that I could leave. So I was like "oh no, you called me here so I'm here to stay". I've been in nursing for 30 plus years I've been punched, cursed at, kicked etc... It's comes with the job!! Nursing is NOT for everyone. I could go on and on about their pt care but let me tell y'all about how well they know HIPPA rules and regulations. THEY DON'T!!! I was the spokesperson for my brother. I had given permission for the nurse to speak to my sister's in the event that I stepped out. Well, when one of my sister's when to check in our brothers status they were very rude to them. Not even acknowledgeing them or there questions. RUDE!! But then my brothers ex girlfriend called over there and they told her everything she wanted to know. So I spoke to the nurse about it and she said it would not happen again. Well, within 30 minutes it happened again. They gave her (the ex) more information about my brother. And one more thing I never saw the Dr after surgery even after requesting to talk to him several times. Never again Valley Baptist.

The scheduling department is horrible at answering phone called, scheduling patience, and lack customer service ethics. They are rude and inconsiderate. My ENT referred me to the neurologist almost a month and a half ago, I kept calling no answer I went in person was not provided answers I got a call one day before my scheduled appointment that I didn't even know I had. This department need better supervision, ethics, and reform.

First, for the sake of all who walk through the do...

First, for the sake of all who walk through the doors of this ER, there should be a thorough investigation of the policies and staff of Valley Baptist Hospital ER. I brought my father to the ER on Friday, 04/15/2016, at approximately 9:30 PM. I went in to get some assistance because he was too weak to walk in on his own. I spoke with a gentleman and told him my father was 81 years old, has a bad heart and had a liver biopsy two days previously. He had developed severe pain in his mid section. (Our concern was either his heart or a complication from the liver biopsy.) The young male who triaged him took an EKG and had someone compare it with one on file. He said there were no changes and sent us back out to the waiting room to wait our turn. Dad could not hold himself up so we put the wheel chair on the backside of the row of chairs to support him. An hour and a half later he collapsed to the floor and started vomiting. It was painfully obvious to us that my father's issue was not taken seriously. The triage nurse insisted he get back up in the chair. He was too weak to move. I asked for a stretcher and this person said they could not do that. He ask the staff to call security. When security came they wanted to call the charge nurse, but the triage person said no. Eventually, the security personnel were able to get my dad into the wheelchair because we were told there was a stretcher inside. Instead, they put us in a small room with no stretcher. I couldn't take it anymore and said loudly, "We don't need security, we need a doctor!" I must say we received the best care from the security guards. They were very sympathetic. One of them told us we could tip the chair back to make my dad more comfortable and proceeded to do it for us. Why didn't the triage person do this when we arrived after we asked if there was someplace my dad could lay down? I wonder if he would treat his dad like this? After this event we were still not offered medical treatment, so we left. Security made sure my dad made it safely into our vehicle. I think it is sad that a christian hospital employs security personnel who are more caring and empathetic than the triage individual who refused to call the charge nurse that security had requested. It is our hope that we will never need the services of Valley Baptist ER again.

Im only giving it 2 stars because im hoping there is someone in the entire hospital that acts like a professional. The receptionist who answers the phone in Brownsville isca buckpasser, rude, lazy, unprofessional and needs a job without contact with the public. So, i cant say much about the hospital as i didn't even get passed the rude receptionist to make an appointment. Going somewhere else that appreciates the fact that people are why they are in business. Dah

I cant say enough about the wonderful staff. Came in through the emergency room with a fast heart beat something I have had for 45 years with never a cure/fix or diagnosed. I was seen fast and in a room where the ER doctor and nurses never left my side. With in two hours they had my heart working fine, the doctor knew what the problem was and even gave me a name for my condition (first time in 45 years). Once on the 3rd floor I found myself in the care of the best nursing staff one could have. The Doctors were all but great especially the ER doctor and Doctor Neasman Thank You all !
