Armorildo (Manager) is not a bad man nor do I have anything negative to say about him. He most definitely has taught me a few things in the short time I've been working with him.

The first incident which was resolved by your talented manager Jason McClurg, was regarding Armorildo sending me home regarding a misunderstanding. This was my first week working for Valet and I was very confused. The incident stemmed from him firmly placing a set of keys in my hand and yelling (legit yelling) to go look at what I did wrong. I said nothing. I turned and jogged right away and halfway mid jog I did turn back and come to Armorildo stating that I remembered parking that car and that I don't think I did anything wrong. Armorildo took the key from my hand and told me to go home. Just like that. I take the bus so I put on my backpack and sat on the bench. Armorildo then came over minuets later showing me a picture of a customers tire touching the side of the curb. At this point I said nothing and remained mute until he walked away. Then got on the bus and went home very upset and hurt because it was my first week. I thought I was doing good. Jason McClurg straightend out the situation and everything was okay.

Incident number 2 was regarding yet another misunderstanding of gestures this time. Armorildo was about 100 feet from the main entrance door assisting a customer who's keys were locked inside of their own car. It was blocking traffic and cars slowly piled up. Each customer I seen from a distance I either waved around or they simply put their hand up through their windshield signaling a pickup/dropoff, meaning that they did not require Valet. Armorildo pointed backwards signalling to go help the customers and yes, I shook my head. And put up my hand very calmly.... Basically trying to signal that they are all set...and no I did not use my voice. This is true. But I would think he'd infer from this. He then stormed to the customer car who already showed me that they were all set, THEN telling him AGAIN that they are all set verbally.

Minutes later Armorildo pulls me aside behind the main entrance doors where there are no cameras . He backs me up to the wall and gets very close. Starts telling very loudly this time. Red faced and moving his hands in an offensive manner. I thought he was going to attack me. I did not feel safe. He was speaking very disrespectful to me as well as condescending. I felt belittled. I did not yell or talk back in any manner the way he was speaking to me. I am a man and I know how to control my emotions and unfortunately Armorildo does not. I tried to explain that everything is okay i wasn't being defiant I was just trying to signal that they are all set. He then gets even more FURIOUS and says these exact words...and customers are walking by listening and seeing this....He says WE ARE GOING TO HAVE A PROBLEM . WE HAVE A PROBLEM DONT WE? YOUR ON STRIKE TO AND WHEN I TELL YOU SOMETHING YOU DO IT RIGHT AWAY OR YOU CAN LEAVE AND NOT COME BACK.

He did not lisent to any of my calm words. Alex, who is a new employee god bless his soul, came over and put keys in Armorildos face to distract him realizing that he had gone way too far. It was very akward the rest of the shift. I told Jason McClurg and he was willing to move me to saints and I agreed but I did not get any sleep that following night. I went to LGH main campus with my backpack full of company shirts and put in my two weeks. I'm sorry.

VPA is a very nice valet service for all. Customers are treated with upmost respect and care while using this service. Employees are treated as they are part of a family through hot summer days and cold winter nights. Nice service, fast, and efficient.

I can't believe this is happening , this morning i went to the Jacobi Hospital i didn't have any change to pay the parking i asked the guy that was in charge of the lot if he would allow me to park and i would pay him when i got back . he said no . Me and my husband were looking for change for about 20 mins meanwhile my daughter was sick and my 2 other kids were their as well . This happened at around 9am , when i got the change i realized the workers were stealing my money . This is insane i saw the guy in charge take the money and the other worker that looked like a dark skin man open the gate with his hands . I asked the guy in charge why he didn't put the money in the machine and he said he collects the money for the police hospital which does not make any sense to me but i had to get my daughter to the hospital ASAP . My husband and my 2 other kids stayed in the car and he called me 1 hour later to tell me that the workers were robbing everybody that was going in the lot and he also saw when the guys were all splitting the money . I had to bring this to somebody's attention because this is unacceptable and i cannot believe nobody has noticed or has spoken to the owner about it . I want Valet Parking America to tell me if this is allowed . I cant believe sick people come here to park not knowing they are getting robbed something has to be done .

I was disrespected by three valet employees at the hospital valet parking lot. They were quick to steal my money and refused to park my vehicle for me. They proceeded to disrespect me by calling me derogatory terms and told me to park my car myself. They all claimed to be part of the management team, immediately removed their name tags, and proceeded to attempt to cover the name of the valet parking service so that they would not be reported. Absolutely disgusted by the people you choose to hire. I am 8 months pregnant and had a medical emergency. These men were so childish and disrespectful. They would not let me park in the lot AFTER already being paid. They are careless and need to get fired.

Biggest mistake was applying to work for this company! The work conditions are horrible and yes you're told about working in all conditions prior to accepting the job but not even having heat available to your employees in the winter or water during the summer is inhumane, especially when you find out other locations or special events are given heated buses for employees to beat the bitter weather and have access to drinking water. After completing an employee survey I was contacted by the regional manager to ask about my responses. Every response I gave was rebuttaled with a reason why my suggestion wouldn't work then to be told that my suggestions for heat and a booster pack to help our customers who frequently have trouble with their vehicles were accepted but that was over two months ago and still no heat or booster pack! On top of that I have never in my life been exposed to such an unprofessional group of people. A female with experience was refused employment because her full figure would be a distraction to the male employees. Male employees are more caddy than females and gossip like teenage girls! After spending the whole night with my sick child until 4am, I over slept and was woken to a call from the regional manager asking why I wasn't at work, I apologized and explained that I had overslept after being up with my son and I would be in tomorrow because I had my child home sick, He had the audacity to ask me if something was going on between myself and a co-worker because it's not the first time we've called out the same day!?! Very professional! Needless to say I will no longer be working for this company!

This company requires its employees to stand outside for hours at a time and provides them with only a very thin shell jacket. They do not provide hand warmers or access to drinking water even though they require you to run when retrieving cars.
Employees get heat exhaustion and dehydrated. Employees get hypothermia. Sometimes you go home and you don't get warm until the next morning and you have to do it all over again.

The company will provide valet services for private events and when you ask them how much you will get paid per hour for working at the event and they tell you they don't know until they see how much they get in tips. Basically they are using your tips to pay your hourly pay.

Norwalk hospital valet manager would require you to clock out and then finish your shift paperwork that the company requires. Basically getting away with not paying each employee about a half hour each day.

Workplace harassment is ignored and management is sexist. This company should be shut down.
