Breckenridge to me is just so so. Peak 8 and 7 are always a disaster and I always feel as if it takes forever to get from one peak to another. Also I wish you would start reporting your snow totals correctly instead of adding 6 inches more than you really got.
Not sure if breck even needs a review, but here's my take. It's an awesome ski resort (obviously), lots of terrain to choose from.
Of the 3 main resorts on the Epic local pass, breck is probably the flattest overall; beginners start here, there's quite a bit of easy terrain to ride.
That said, it's a huge area with plenty of steep terrain as well, but in general you'll run into more catwalks then at Keystone or A Basin.
Keystone is a steeper mountain but otherwise similar to breck.
A Basin, the little guy, is the smallest of the 3 but my personal favorite because it's got a nice little selection of solid terrain for advanced/intermediate skiers, and it's less crowded (usually).
They all get crowded though; in Breck, if it's a busy day, I've noticed peak 8 tends to be where most of the crowds are. Stick to more difficult runs to avoid the crowds of nubes flying willy nilly down the groomers ;)
Annie on peak 8 taught our 4 and 6 year Olds how to ski. Great place for family and friends beginning or expert.
the only drawback to this wonderful town is how popular it has become!
Wonderful family get a way from the views and small mountain town to the hot tub and heated pool , sauna is excellent too
Great ski area. Plenty of great terrain to spread out to.
Super nice ski resort, lots of varied terrain. Came here on closing day foe the pond skim event. Really fun and am going to miss snowboarding at Breck
Love this place all year long! We ve come skiing here for years. March is our favorite time to go. There s so much to do for every comfort level.
We finally visited for summer fun - Woah! Talk about a day of fun!! I can t believe we ve been coming here for years, but have never explored the mountain summer activities. I m so glad we finally did! And it was made extra special to do it with our family and little ones.
We bought the unlimited day pass (ask for a military discount!). More than anyone, my father-in-law and I myself got our fill of the coaster - definitely our favorite ride! I liked it more than the alpine slide because your seat is actually attached to the ride instead of being a sled that could potentially come off (I guess I m a worrier :P). This thing can go pretty darn fast! But you ve got a set of brakes to slow down whenever you want. So customizable and perfect! This is my kind of coast!! Not to the mention the beautiful view all around you the whole time.
Kids - different rides have different requirements. Some you have to be 30 pounds, some 30 inches, others 35 inches or 38 inches. My almost three year old is big enough for all. He tried the coaster with my husband and said it made him dizzy (I m sure my husband took it pretty fast lol). But he loved the alpine slide - enough to ride it twice! For the slide, the break is between your legs. He wanted to hold onto this because it totally made him feel like he was in charge. Little did he know, I was definitely the one controlling it. My son also really enjoyed paying for gold, mini golf and the bounce house.
I m really hoping we visit again next summer so we can come here!
I will warn you that you can easily get a sunburn up here. I will also suggest that you pack a lunch because the prices are ridiculous.
Great visit. The concierge had a bit of an attitude but great overall.
Breck is an awesome place to ski. There are so many amazing things about it. Peak 9 is a great area for beginners. They have a great ski school set up and staff. Amazing views. It's heaven..
A great resort. Located off i70. Friendly service. Nice rooms and hotels.
This is my favorite place to go to ski. It really is like heaven...
This my 1St. Time here I will for certain return Awesome people got snow this morning
Ski conditions were amazing 12/19/18. Staff was extremely helpful and accomadting. Slight issues with epic pass not being read, but staff handled it each run
Convenient Ski in ski out, garage parking for resort guests, shuttle service into downtown.
Some disappointment. It is getting old and and needs to clean up.
A great place to unwind with family friends or a date, great for everyone from kids to adults.
Just doesn't have enough parking for week ending events
Beautiful views, clean bathrooms, and great customer service. Everyone is so friendly and willing to help
Great resort with a nice variety of terrain. View from the top of peak 8 is worth the 20 minute hike up.
Breck is one of my favorite mountains. If you know where to look there's every type of terrain. 10 has some epic double blacks on the back side and decent tree skiing on the front. Peak 9:00 is great for beginners. Peak 8 has some amazing chutes up top, and a world-class terrain park at the base. 7 has some great rollers and ore bucket is always fun. Peak6 is a great addition especially when they open up the gates.
Really enjoyed skiing here. I am a beginner to intermediate skier and there were plenty of greens with wide runs that made it enjoyable for me. It was fairly busy but that was to be expected... and the wide greens made it nice. Staff was very helpful in finding the best runs for me as well.
I have been going to Breckenridge all my life. It is truly a world class resort. It can easily take a full day or two to explore everything Breckenridge has to offer. Every last run is a new experience with its own unique features. From long meandering green runs to steep challenging blacks, this resort has it all!
Giant 9am rush Saturday mornings at peak 8 but it clears out on the more difficult runs and at noon.
A bit too touristy for my taste but it's beautiful and there is nothing to complain about.
Ski lift tickets are pricey but the mountain and the town were lovely, had a great time.
Great in the summer and winter, beautiful and lots of things to do.
We like Breck and vacation here several times a year though some trips are only for a night. There are decent restaurants for date night. We prefer the Grand Lodge on Peak 7
Pretty decent snow even in the beginning of the season (mid November). All the staff seemed very nice and courteous.
Been coming to Breck for more than 10 years. I ve grown up on the slopes here and I still never get bored of the terrain and the awesome staff.
Windy. Th mountain is layed out in a way that makes it seem like you are always trying to get somewhere. The runs bottle neck everywhere. And the runs are short
First trip to Breck many other mountains to compare to, but this ranks in the top
Summer biking is the best! The altitude is cruel but you can ride from Breck to Frisco down hill (10mi) and either take bus back up or have someone pick you up. Most of it is downhill, when you get to the lake there is an incline of about 1 mile but well worth the ride.
Skied a day at Breckenridge and it was great! A little crowded but that's to be expected during the holidays. Lots of great terrain variety and good snow.
Great mountain and terrain, sluggish restaurant service (even when its dead), employees seem way less than thrilled to work there. And from what I understand it's the poverty wages and corralling everyone 2 to a bedroom for housing. Lift lines are absolutely atrocious, with no indication they care to make the process quicker. If you don't want to pay $200/day to take 7 runs go anywhere else in the state. Copper, Arapahoe Basin, or even Keystone are way better choices.
The slopes were great. It was surprisingly crowded for a Tuesday, but it was easy to get on the lifts.
Here is a place that the whole family will love. From miles of greens to build your confidence to thought steeps that will challenge the best of you and mountains between.
Beautiful and full of tourists which always equals expensive
I went here for a snowboarding class. Got really lucky and was matched with a great instructor named Dave. Basically learned both turns and other basic moves in only 1 day. I d request him if you want to use their snowboard school. Also, the resort is really nice. Busses take you from parking lots to lifts. They even have a vegan pizza place. Coming back for sure!
The outside grill had the best tri tip! Super expensive half day ticket though.
My favorite place for great snow and wicked slopes! Everyone should stay away!
Such a vibrant and nice community, I've gone skiing in Breckenridge, as well I've worked private security for their numerous events around town for DD Group Security. If you're looking for a place to go skiing, go on vacation, or just a place to get away. I highly recommend Breckenridge.
Compared to keystone I didn't really like this place as a medicore black diamond skiier. Runs didn't seem super long and wasn't very steep. But only checked out a bit of it. Also getting to the hill from parking takes like 30 minutes.
Corey is the most kind and patient ski instructor. From someone who is utterly terrified to ski he was unendingly patient and encouraging. 10/10 would recommend.
Absolutely worth it, price about $150 for day lift, but there's so many slopes and great options that it's worth it
Great powder day. All lots full but lines weren't bad. We are looking for a good warm up run with powder on the sides map guide on top have is the prefect suggestion.
Its Breck. Its busy. Its fun, but its Breck. You have to visit, but its not my first choice to ride in Summit County.
Perfect conditions and run. Couldn't be happier. Coming from east coast wasn't cheap but 100% worth it.
Great town with a fun vibe. Crowded with crazy traffic so plan accordingly. I personally don't care for the mountain runs that much as they are mostly all angled to one side or the other instead of being level side to side. We went there for the snow sculptures and they were pretty cool.
Without a doubt, one of the greatest family experiences in the world. Regardless of your skiing level, the friendly folks at Breck have what you are looking for!
A week
E resort,
This place is gnar and I would highly recommend it.
Beautiful scenery but comes with a hefty price. Two drinks and a pack of Skittles was $19.00
