Tunku Abdul Rahman University College, abbreviated TAR UC, is a non-profit, private university college in Malaysia. Named after the country's first prime minister, Tunku Abdul Rahman, the school was founded in 1969 as Tunku Abdul Rahman College (or TAR College) by the Malaysian Chinese Association (MCA). On 2 May 2013, it officially became a university college.

With a beautiful campus education system is good enough.. and near to city center

Good place to study with great facilities, and the most important is this UC treat English as very important language.

Great Libraries. Large campus, great computer lab, on-campus wifi with decent speed and connection. So many facilities and affordable!

100% scholar here who paid 0 tuition fees, facilities are wonderful, Olympic size swimming pool was my favorite, feeder bus to and fro lrt wangsa maju is provided. I miss the one and a half year I spent here.

As a person working near taruc i really dislike that the school doesn't provide more buses for the students and every morning the students take our place in the public bus to get to their campus. Why accept so many students to not figure out the campus parking system and the bus system, it's always jam because of this.

Illogical college that kicked me out of college without any good reason

Graduated in 2008. The has changed from mediocre to better! Better facilities and building.

Very affordable and accessible by public transport as well.

Very good university college. Excellent lecturers and affordable price.

Lovely campus. Full of facilities. Reasonable tuition fees. It is in a convinient spot, nearby LRT station that can go to KL city or even other places.

Bus transportation by the college sucks
Every time have to wait for almost an hour only have 1 bus

Bad experience in perak branch campus, I appealed for the review examination then the results is out after the due date of maintenance fees and I asked the faculty whether ai can get back the money or not but the answer was I told you that the the review will be low chance but didn t know that after I review passed I will get back my refund. Now I had to pay 150 extra for the facility fees. Bad college ever. No communication, and have own opinion, always call and ask questions but ended up with different answers

Affordable education but some tutors may be inexperienced

Am ex-student here, good env for us to further study into an professional area that without much expensive fee.

The fee for A-level is the most affordable amongst so many universities. And the scholarship is easy to get. But the most important point is the lecturers can teach and are dedicated. All the notes are tidy and prepared well. If there re something you still don t understand, they can spend their times to explain to you until you get it.

Great surroundings and healthy atmosphere. Awesome for all seeking higher education at reasonable costs. Excellent track record of training students and its graduates are well sought after by the Private sector. No nonsense education experience supported by a team of dedicated lecturers backed up by well planned agenda for its students to be well equipped in terms of IQ and EQ to boldly blend into the working environment.

This is the most affordable institution of higher learning in the country. It has multiple joint programmes with foreign institutions.

One of the best options to pursue a professional qualification in accountancy. The fees are very affordable (merit scholarships are available), lecturers and tutors are well versed in their teachings. 1 downside is the timetable, which may include Saturday classes, depending on your luck. Hope this short review helps anyone who are contemplating to study here.

Best option ever if you wanna study your A-level here - affordable fees, well-equipped facilities and vibrant campus life. Lecturers are experienced, knowledgeable and helpful, making you keen to learn. The library here is also a good bonus. Will definitely recommend TAR UC to those thinking of pursuing A-level.

it was heartbroken to say this girl suicide have same fate and same batch with me,i was thinking to do the same thing like her,but i managed to fight my feeling and keep fighting with mental bully happening in this college.My lecturer of TAR UC not sad when hear she suicide ,but even blame her and said she is stupid and shame TAR UC name to do this thing.. i feel her pain,because i work and study at the same time..we dont have rich parent.. Even ptptn cant help us..

Most affordable institute of higher learning. Do expect lots of walking in this campus!

Studied a-level here and thanks to the enormous supports and efforts given by the lecturers there, study life was more bearable and easier! Campus life was great too, so do not just study but remember to have fun there!

Great university. What else can I ask for? Experienced lecturers and friendly environment to study. Just the security guards are sometimes impolite.

Affordable education, with nice campus and facilities

Please do not choose this institute unless you have literally no other choice in the world and even then i think self study is a better option. I had enrolled into the A levels programme and speaking from experience i have to say that enrolling in this college has to be one of the biggest mistake in my life that i still regret to this day. Despite it being a large campus the quality of education provided here is complete trash. My fellow classmates had a saying when we were studying at TARC which was affordable price, affordable quality. Please do not prioritize the money for a completely trashy education quality. Trust me you will regret it. The lecturers are complete trash with 0 know how to communicate with students, the notes given are outdated and complete trash with very little information. Physics was by far the worst as NOT EVEN A SINGLE NOTES WAS GIVEN!!. Lecturers just play slides upon slides trying to finish the class as fast as possible without a hoot of caring if the students do actually understand what they teach as the students race to copy blindly only to find they have completely no idea what they have just done. Because of this complete lack of guidance and complete sorry excuse for a school i had flunked my A LEVELS EXAMS bad and although i regret ever setting foot in this college i am now doing foundation in science at Heriot-Watt University and i have to say the difference is unprecedented. Before you judge me for being a weak student keep in mind that in my SPM examinations i had obtained 9A+ AND 1B+ and in my current SEMESTER 1 FOUNDATION EXAMINATION AT Heriot-Watt University Malaysia(HWUM) i obtained all 90+ for all four of my subjects. This clearly differentiates a great institute from a terrible one. HWUM has to be one of the best universities in Malaysia. Unlike TARUC the lectures in HWUM provides you with all the information you need and with complete full support as the lectures genuinely do care if the students understand what is being thought, as they even monitor your progress closely and provide advice and mentoring to help those that need it even if the students dont recognize they need help until its too late. I can keep going on my nightmarish experiences with this trash uni but i might just end up writing a whole book about it if i do. The reason why i a writing this review is to warn people not to fall into the same trap as i did from being a star student to completely depressing results as i fell into a deep depression after my A levels programme at TARUC and i dont want to see other people go through the same pain as i did just because of a completely trash university such as this one. Please make the wise choice of completely avoiding this sorry piece of an excuse for a higher education institution

TARUC was great for me during my A-level journey(2017 May -2018 Nov). There are several aspects which i can highlight and tell you why i choose TARUC. Let me point out few aspects that i love about TARUC and which may draw your attention and begins your new journey here.
1)Quality guaranteed , one of the best institution that offers Cambridge A-level programme ,and TARUC is widely known for their success in A-level, proven with the excellent result of the students (a total of 8 students) Cambridge A-level AS 2018 June examinations , being awarded the Top in the World title at the Outstanding Cambridge Learner Award,which mean they obtain the highest score for the certain examination paper in the world. All this wouldn't be possible without the great , experienced lecturers that will always lead you to the right pathway.
2)Affordable fees, quality guaranteed and affordable fees,so why not give it a try? TARUC provides generous merit scholarship which can be very helpful to those in need .Cambridge A-level programme at TARUC has lower cost compared to most of the colleges out there.
3)Well-equipped facilities and great transportation services,which makes thing easier. Free school buses are provided for students whether you are going to school or back to home. Study rooms and library are there , well maintained , providing best study environment. Sports complex , Olympic-sized swimming pool , basketball court are well maintained and is always a good place for students to spend their time relaxing other than studying.
4)Vibrant campus life
Life in TARUC is not just about studying all the time. There are a wide range , a great number of societies and clubs at TARUC for you to join and release your inner self , and act as a platform to showcase your talent , and most importantly to release your stress.

TARUC is highly recommended and i hope this review will give you more insights into study life at TARUC.

i regret went to this college.. the teaching are based on a book, and play slide only..talk2 and solve tutorial question to be present in the class...no discuss about past year question.. 6 subject in a sem, 6 group assignment & 4 individual assignment, midterm exam .. worst one getting bullied by friend,no one want to accept outside people in their group. The coordinator treat student harshly.. they cant accept sick people and always accuse we are lying if we not bring MC.. if u have repitition sickness like me dont choose this college..it cant tolerate with you..
The fees keep increasing year bye year .. in 2015 the fees only rm1500 ,but in 2017 it had increased to rm2700..i feel burdened at that time..

what we heard about TAR UC are good reputation college and big beautiful university, with cheap fees at KL centre but what the problem faced by student are truly deeply many sad stories. That's why several student of TAR UC suicide due to university keep failing us in examination, racism and mental bully in university .Notes given not related with exam question. Furthermore, C- score in exam in this college are consider as fail,when we try to appeal there is no change of result only lost money to the university . When you get CGPA less than 2.0 for first year you can't further to study second year,you need to repeat one whole year again this will make you loss money and time although you fail few paper, it will make your duration of study increase to 3 years or 4 years although in website written only 2 years.You can't absent more than 3 times or else you will be barred from taking examination,once u barred you will loss the money of the fees that you have paid. the tutor can't accept excuse,only MC letter accepted. Have u heard racism,this college are racist to indian and malay student. No friend, except if you can understand and talk in chinese languange they will accept you in this university. Other race in this college difficult to get group for assignment and they will throw you like rubbish.Its one of the mental bully. If you are not chinese think twice before you enter TAR UC. i currently undergo my degree at IIUM and what the difference between this TAR UC and IIUM are the lecturer are very helpful in IIUM. Although you are so stupid but if give effort they will help you and give more marks through assignment project and examination .Lets say if you have problem with the fees,at IIUM they will give you time to pay fees untill the examination date,so you have time about 3 to 6 months duration to find money through working but in TAR UC you will be facing problem if you cant pay as soon as possible.You must pay fees within two weeks,or else you status would become EZ then if late payment they will fined you extra RM 200,before that,the process of make appeal due to late payment are very complicated need to prepare letter of sorry for late payment and get approval from faculty. then you run again write words of promise to not pay late again. what i face from TAR UC they treat their student like rubbish not like other University, at IIUM the lecturer even the worker are willing to help you if anything happen and they did'nt force the student to ber perfect in everything. However the advantage of TAR UC if u fail final exam,you will need to resit,if you didnt resit then you will fail the first year and need to repeat again for one whole year to enter second year. this will cost you a lot of money and stress. What i have seen many senior need to resit paper although they finished study. More than 3 classroom 150++ senior. If you failed to register online for repeat or resit ,you need to do the repeat for next sem,although you go to the class. The management not inform anything to you and this will make you in trouble. Miscommunication and careless worker, didnt accept appeal letter give excuse there is no my name in board,careless untill i got barred, im very angry and they just act like innocent and not saying sorry and just say nevermind you just need to repeat only,the money i lost they didnt think(i suffered migrain,gastric,depression this time).lecturer didnt tick my attendance and almost got barred by the faculty,luckily i took picture ,and its time details had become my proof that i come to the class. parking are far from clads and if park at wrong place or no sticker they will fined you rm50. Exam in the same week with hari raya aidilfitri and deepavali. Holiday for Hari Raya only 3 days and Deepavali only one day given by university.You will feel stress during Hari Raya because of this sick concept .My advice is think twice before you start study at TAR UC and choose the university that aim to help you not always fined you in every reaction.

I dk why still remain online study since our minister already agree let student bck to uni. Izit tht can make more low budget benefits and lazy in home teaching, and the resources fees is still given by student. Primary and secondary school does not do like tht to provide education. And once most important things is the faculty taruc management is very poor, I m facing the problem about online transfer fees then she told me call another person and not given any phone number and reference. Lastly I drive through TARUC to solve it. Poor Taruc

I had just finished my A-Level course in science in TARUC main campus in KL last year. As for me, it was an indelible and wonderful experience to study in TARUC. Through the course content, we gained great deal of knowledge and training on critical thinking. There, I met my fellow dear friends and teachers.Not only the teachers in TARUC are experienced and dedicated in teaching, they are also friendly and caring to all students. Every time we spilled our troubles to either our teachers or the management officers, they tried their best to give us assistance. The facilities there were also complete and well-maintained.
Hence, I don t understand those who wrote foul rubbish in the review section. They are completely NONSENSE!!!!!!!!!!
First, not only TARUC had students committed suicide or died in accidents, other universities or colleges also did have.The society can t blame the university for the whole responsibility for these tragedies because there were many other contributing factors that might lead to those tragedies. As university students, we should instead take these tragedies as a sign of warning and remind ourselves that we should maintain good balance between studying time and resting time, and we should be more caring to the friends surrounding us and keep alert to their anomalous behavior.
Second, I remember that all the teachers were busied to remind us to appreciate our lives and feel free to share our problem with them when the news of student suicide broke throughout the nation.
Lastly, TARUC does have certain requirements/threshold for the examination results for all student who have to proceed to their next terms, I think it is very reasonable. Only those who are always preoccupied in things other than their studies would complain about this. Universities prepare professional workforce for the society, but they don t sell certificates to students unless it is a for-profit uni.
In conclusion, I think it is a good experience to study in TARUC.
