I was referred to Utah Poison Control by the Salt Lake City Fire Department tonight after my son digested what I thought to be toxic liquid. Joe answered my call and while I was freaking out on what was happening, he calmed me right down to get all the information on what happened.

After he learned what he digested, he let me know it was non-toxic and my son would be ok. However he could tell I was shook up from it. He asked if he could call me back in a hour to check in on both of us. Sure enough, Joe called back like he said and checked in on our family.

OUTSTANDING customer service, we need more Joe s in this world!!! Thank you, thank you Joe!

I worked with a gentleman named Brad today and he was seriously MY LIFE SAVOR!!! He calmed me down and made sure I knew everything was okay with my baby & then called me back an hour later to check in on my little guy and closed the case after that conversation, new symptoms started to come so I quickly called again and he knew excatly who I was when I called and AGAIN was there to save the day!
Idk if Brad will ever see this, but if he does.. I want him to know how much I thank him and appreciate him!

Just got off the phone with UPC & spoke with the NICEST guy named Ben who made me feel so much better. My little guy accidentally got a little too much IBU tonight & I was worried about the side effects it could have on him. Ben reassured me that he would be completely fine & answered a million other questions I had. I'm a worrywart! So thankful for patient employees like Ben who listen, care & help. Thank you!!

Absolutely spectacular support. Called at 2am with a minor panic over taking too many pain killers, and the employee I spoke with was calm and level, talked me through everything, and asked every question that needed to be considered in my case. Poison Control called back the next day and left a voicemail, then called AGAIN the following day, ensuring that they connected with me and followed up on my case. Patient, trained, and skilled. They gave me incredible peace of mind.

If all government agencies ran like Utah Poison Control, I wouldn't mind paying taxes so much. They are fast, knowledgeable, and they have proactively followed up 3 times in the last two days. In case your curious, it was a small, but concerning chemical burn.

UPC has always been great! Learning it is in the u of u tho HSS Mr quitr concerned about my privacy, and confidentialality, as the u has taken si much of our rights away. My pcd told me we dont get privacy anorr. That this new system alliwsy them to discuss u with whoever they want, even if we ask them not to. But if PCC will abide by what they always have, as far as I know, then I'm good with that. PCC does do great job!

About Utah Poison Control Center

The Utah Poison Control Center (UPCC) is a vital resource for the residents of Utah. As a 24-hour service, it provides immediate phone support in case of poisoning emergencies. The UPCC also offers educational resources to healthcare professionals, pre-hospital providers, public health officials, and law enforcement.

The UPCC has been serving the state of Utah since 1954 and has become an essential part of the community's healthcare system. The center is staffed by certified specialists in poison information who are available around the clock to provide expert advice on poison-related emergencies.

One of the primary goals of UPCC is to prevent poisoning incidents from happening in the first place. To achieve this goal, they offer educational resources that help people understand how to avoid accidental poisoning incidents. They also provide training programs for healthcare professionals and other first responders on how to manage poison-related emergencies effectively.

In addition to providing immediate phone support during a crisis, UPCC also offers follow-up services for patients who have been exposed to toxic substances. These services include monitoring patients' symptoms and providing ongoing medical advice until they have fully recovered.

UPCC's website is an excellent resource for anyone looking for information about poisons or seeking help during a poisoning emergency. The website features an extensive database with detailed information about different types of poisons and their effects on humans and animals.

The center's website also includes helpful tips on how to prevent accidental poisonings at home or work. There are sections dedicated specifically to parents with young children as well as pet owners who need guidance on keeping their furry friends safe from toxic substances.

UPCC's commitment to excellence extends beyond its core mission of providing emergency support during poison-related incidents. They are actively involved in research projects aimed at improving our understanding of poisons' effects on human health and developing new treatments that can save lives in case of exposure.

Overall, Utah Poison Control Center plays a critical role in ensuring public safety by offering immediate assistance during poisoning emergencies while educating people about how they can avoid such incidents altogether. If you live in Utah or plan on visiting soon, make sure you have UPCC's number saved somewhere accessible so that you can get help quickly if needed!
