This is a good museum. You could spend a whole day there. If you know any amount of history of WWII, then I suggest skipping most of the first floor. Also, might need a bit of revamping once WWII is completely out of living memory.

Best museum!! This place is huge!! Also free is so on point. The layout is amazing. Its a walk through timeline. I love world history and growing up in school the holocaust was one of the things i liked learning about most in school. As i child i had field trip'd here. Coming as an adult was worth it. The walk from the SP parking garage across from 13th st. Was nothing. It can get a lil crowded in certain places but it's a.c throughout so i wasnt complaining. One of the most impactful places to visit for both adults and children ( discretion advised ). One of the most memorable moments was seeing a boy, who was about 8, sob from being so impacted by such a thing. It made me realise there may be some hope for the future generation. Most kids these days care of nothing but selfies, dabbing, and viral videos. Pulled my heart strings, pulled all ours. My friends and I were literally sobbing the entire time. Great birthday adventures!

I always recommend this place to any DC visitor and local. This is a very well done museum and teaches a historical event that is so important to know and something that we must never forget. It is a must see.

My heart and soul were deeply touched. I cannot express in words what I felt as I walked through the memorial. I will carry this experience with me the rest of my days. Something that everyone should see.

Heartrending and thought provoking. You want to really believe it could never happen again. Not now in the modern age. Yet, here we are faced with rising hatred and divisiveness again. Is the human race doomed to repeat our mistakes.

Absolutely amazing. It gets cold in there so bring a sweater. First floor is free to go in and view however 2nd and up they will charge an entrance fee. It s a wonderful place to visit to learn about the harsh realities that happened - if you re into that kind of stuff. It may be a bit hard to view for some.

Everyone should go at least once in their life. This museum is more then just sad memories, they did a very good job teaching the history to help you understand what was going on during that time. I came out feeling more angry at the injustice then sad. The staff is extremely nice and helpful!

Even though the museum is free you do need a ticket to see the main portion of the museum. When you get your ticket you will get a time slot to enter the main exhibit. Tickets go fast so if you don't get your tickets online, make this your first stop of the day. Pick your time slot, get your tickets, see some of DC and then come back at the time you selected. Give yourself at least 1 1/2 hours - 2 hours to go through the museum. Trust me it's worth it to take your time and not be rushed through!

I'm sure I would have gotten more out of this museum without the copious amount of teenagers making noise and running around. The museum should require more chaperones. I'll be back to view when the atmosphere is more respectful.

What a humbling experience. No words can truly explain until you see it for yourself. Very educational. Very moving. My husband and I are in our late 20s and we learned more in the few hours we were there than we ever learned from history books. The little bookstore/gift shop area had quite a few books I would have loved to read but I settled on buying just one. We would love to visit again as we did not get to see and experience everything the memorial had on display and we would even like to bring our son when he is a bit older and can understand better. I highly recommend visiting.

Good museum. very educational.
Unfortunately i feel it had an unnecessary ticket booth. It's free but you still have to get a ticket. It was also packed with kids who have no respect for the holocaust or the artifacts. Cant change that; the museum itself was an experience you need to see

It may be the best museum of my visit to New York and Washington, only comparable to the New York Museum of Natural History.

Spectacular, I went with a group of friends and we hired a guided tour of the museum, something that I think is essential, each corner surprises you, it is true that it is a tough museum, because of the facts that it deals with sometimes you It is uphill, you can literally see the emptiness left by the tragedy of the holocaust.

I am left speechless just to remember my visit, I hope that my experience will make you resolve it if you had any doubts about going, since you will take one of the great memories of your visit to the United States.

A greeting from Spain.

Absolutely loved the museum but I was not prepared for how crowded it was. I'm talking you are probably going to bump elbows so make sure your family has a plan or tries to stick together because I kept getting separated from mine. Look for this statue to find the entrance.

This museum really tells the story of just how horrible the Holocaust was. I would recommend visiting this museum when you get a chance. However it's not for the faint of heart. It was very heart breaking to see up close what the victims of the nazis were subjected to.

You have to get there early to get tickets to the main exhibit or sign up online for a 1 dollar fee. Or you can go in through the exit, across from the hall of remembrance, like we did. 4 stars because the exhibits are biased and emotional. And the security is too realistic...goes with the theme

A worthy and almost necessary place to see while visiting DC. If more people would learn about history and understand how it repeats itself, maybe it would prevent some of it from happening in the future. The exhibits are very well done and eye opening. And very relevant in the context of current events occurring in the US and the politics of today.

We were privileged to hear an actual survivor speak. It was an emotional experience. Plan on spending the day. It's free but you will need tickets to view special exhibits. Those tickets are also at no charge.
