The department of ophthalmology is very famous. One of the oldest establishment in Paris with statues of notable doctors, built and expanded during the expansion of Paris. currently on strike the emergency department will surely be removed soon.

I was obliged to go to the emergency room of the Hotel Dieu on July 14th.
Against all odds, I was caught immediately.
Empathic medical team and very effective, as in most APHP institutions by the way.
A big thank-you.

My mother and I went here 3 years ago now because she had a retinal tear in one of her eyes. Having had one before in the other eye she knew what it was and we saw this hospital has an emergency room specifically for eye issues. We waited around 5 or 6 hours to be seen since it was very busy but once seen the doctor spoke great English and confirmed she had a retinal tear. He told us to come back the next morning first thing to have the eye surgery to repair it. We came back the next morning and did not have to wait at all before our doctor (who seemed very young) came to get us and led us to the room. He sat my mother down, looked at her eye through a machine, told her not to move, and 15 seconds later was done. We came home and she waited for the extreme pain she had experienced with her other surgery. It never came. When she went home to the US she went to her eye dr and the dr told her the surgery had been done wonderfully. My mother asked why she had no pain and the dr told her they have new techniques and the best eye dr s in the world in France. Oh and btw...the whole thing cost us 50!! Would definitely recommend this place.

My experience was pretty bad.

My experience was pretty bad.
I went there for a vaccination, following an appointment made on the Paris City Hall website.
The nurse in the reception room yelled at me because I did not have my ID, and throughout the recording of my file, she spoke to me with a frown.
However, I received an email reminder of the appointment, arrived the day before in my mailbox. (capture attached) He said to bring the vital card, the certificate (I understood the security certificate) and the vaccination record. It's written in black and white !!
In the next vaccine room, the doctor and her secretary were dry and without soul or expression. The doctor asks questions in a rather intimidating tone. What's going on in this department ?! What a welcome from "mierda"!

On the outside, it's nothing special. But the patio and its garden are worth visiting.
At the end of the patio, in front of the chapel, there is a statue that medical students decorate each year in a different way with bright colors. It is curious.
Being right next to Notre Dame is worth entering and if you need to rest quietly in the courtyard listening to the fountain.

Do not understand what is said to him, we do the moral lesson with two bullets ... The law on verbal abuse and bad talk to people etc posted basically behind the emergency home, and valid in both directions so instead of going on strike, learn to talk to people better;) and maybe you will have more consideration :)

I put a 4 star to offset the rating of a 5 star rating on the view. What a shame Sir. The hospital is not a hotel and it is the care that must be noted. By giving 5 stars for this you fool people who want an opinion on the hospital.

I like this place from a tourist point of view. You can admire a very nice little interior garden. And the galleries. I imagine how it was at the time of epidemics ... cold on the back! Historical places to visit. Regarding the servises I was there 1 time for ophthalmic emergencies. Long as everywhere but effective. Too bad if they decide to close the hospital.

Thank you!

Thank you!
A day of day hospitalization for simple exams, everyone was perfect, despite the working conditions, despite the schedules. Everyone from receptionists, housekeepers, caregivers and nurses, interns and the teacher who took care of me, not a bad note! So again thanks to all
Only one thing a more effective signage in this labyrinth will be welcome. Even if again the staff does not hesitate to accompany the lost!

I was in the emergency room of the Hotel-Dieu on a Monday night and was pleasantly surprised.
I was taken care of after 5 minutes for a strong pain in the ribs.
A big thank you to Thomas, the intern, for his professionalism.
Duration of the emergency room visit: 1h! (Including Radios and Diagnostics)

Lousy patient care

Lousy patient care
We were visiting Paris from Canada. My husband had ear pain and headache so we went to the emergency room of the hospital. The front desk personnel and the nurse were very helpful, they took care of us immediately; filled the forms, took the vitals in time etc.

Unfortunately my husband was in one of the examination rooms for over 2 hours because the doctor in charge, Dr A F, came a few times to the door of the examination room then left without talking to my husband and in the meantime she had time to spend chatting and walking down the hall and seemingly not examining patients in a timely manner nor in priority order when medical conditions are equal in seriousness.

In the end she did finally see my husband and prescribed some topical antibiotic which really did not help and was not necessarily efficacious.

I was disappointed by this medical care and did not expect it. I am a physician and in my judgement it was unacceptable care.

It could be a top location for a palace, but it's a hospital. The first in the capital, which in 660 received sick people and beggars.

Since 1878, it has been a bright and airy hospital, training the doctors and surgeons of tomorrow. In his small garden is a statue that the students have fun dressing up as Superman or Freddy!

I was made to leave the service in the middle of the night, with a serious allergy to Humex, nasal hemorrhage, mouth, head pain ... and without report.

Ridiculous organization in their pharmacy, UPharma. Once the doctor at the hospital gave me my prescription, with explanations, you had to wait in the waiting room (??) of the pharmacy to see someone and have the same explanations? One could have simply given me the medications prescribed by the doctor (from the same hospital). Incredible inefficiency

Hospital very very very strongly discourage.

Hospital very very very strongly discourage.
Incompetent staff as well as the radiology department of the hospital.
1 hour to register in the coffers of this hospital and 2 hours of waiting for doctors to do their work.
(only to make a scanner)
Imagine a person arriving from a fatal accident!
No respect for these people!

Thank you for consulting the Declaration of the Rights of Man and the Citizen of 1789.
The score 0/20

Small visit to the radiology department. The man at the reception is very friendly, the welcome is warm. The nurses who received me are very gentle and Professor Jean Noel Buy is an excellent doctor who was able to detect the problems, he took me aside to explain to me what I had at the end of the exam before write the report. His secretary is also very nice.
The only weak point I would say is the wait, but given the quality of care, it's worth it.

The Hotel Dieu of Paris is the oldest hospital in ...

The Hotel Dieu of Paris is the oldest hospital in the capital. Founded in 651 by the Parisian bishop Saint Landry, it was the symbol of charity and hospitality.

The current buildings housing the hospital date from the nineteenth century.

The current buildings are due to the plans of the architect Emile Jacques Gilbert, helped by his son Arthur-Stanislas Diet; they were built from 1866 to 1876, at the initiative of Baron Haussmann in the redeveloped perimeter of the Notre-Dame cathedral.

The Third Republic completed the construction of the hospital on its present location at the end of the nineteenth century, with the main entrance at 1, place du Parvis.

It was not until 1908 that the augustine nuns left the hotel-Dieu for good (Wikipedia).

You can enter and visit this place by being discreet or many points of detail dot the way to the Chapel on the great medical figures and their innovations in their time. A place steeped in history where life is precious.

Like other public services in France. I would say moderately that they are dropped. I came in for consultation on February 3 of this year. Absence of additional clinical examinations or psychotechnical tests scheduled initially being the main reason for my visit, (prescribed by the medical examination of the work). In short I have to complete this interview after the enormity that we end up proposing to me I quote "we will ask your employer what is what it provides for in its MDR regulations
But the most deplorable is that to date they have still not communicated their decision to occupational medicine !!! and we are on 03/27/2020 (More than 3 weeks to send an email or a letter). If they did
