Urban Texture Hair Studio Review

I ve had my hair done by Anicsha several times and she always nails the exact look I want. She was able to take my black/brown hair and give me the perfect ashy blonde balayage without damaging my hair at all! I m super grateful for her kindness and talent and I m looking forward to seeing her again.

Loving the care and attention by the staff. Finally have found a stylist who ACTUALLY listens to my concerns and goals! More expensive then what is used to paying, but so far definitely worth it.

Love the aesthetic of the hair studio! I recommend booking with Anicsha, all the staff is great.

I went to Urban Texture yesterday (8/8/18) for the first time, and my experience was phenomenal. I ve had some decent trips to other local salons, which is fine, but nothing too stunning. However, the staff at Urban Texture made me feel so good about myself the entire time I was there.

I appreciate that my stylist (Breanne) took her time and paid close attention to detail, from finding the perfect colour/tone, to the precise cut. She listened to what I cared about with my hair and asked a lot of questions to ensure that I was happy with it.

And I am pleased to say that I am absolutely in love with my hair. I don t often feel beautiful, but I do now.

Great place for bridal party updos. Super friendly staff with nice comfy chairs and comfortable space. They even have a drink menu which coffees and drinks.

Best salon ever! Krystal is amazingly talented with hair, I have never been more happy with a stylist in my life. She does a great job at understanding what I want, but putting her magic flair into it.

I also love the supportive friendly vibe of this place, it s drama-free unlike many hair & aesthetic places! Not to mention the salon is so cute and stylish, and they give you coffee or tea lattes.

Urban texture is an amazing place to come get your hair done!! Every time I come to this salon I leave with great hair and a smile :) Anicsha is an angel, I love getting my hair done by her, she has done such an amazing job!!

This place is AMAZING! So bright and welcoming. As soon as you walk in everyone welcomes you. Make an appointment! My husband really enjoyed his hot shave while I had my hair done. Erin is FANTASTIC!

Michelle takes great pride in her work .She makes sure that the client feels comfortable at every stage of the appointment and makes it known that no question should go unanswered once you leave or enter her chair in regards to your service. And as an added bonus she is perhaps one of the most humblest well rounded people I have ever met with amazing life views ( take it from some one who went black to blond and extensions in a session that lasted 3 plus hours personality counts). The salon is also very aesthetically pleasing and other staff members are both professional and inviting this salon is a must!!!

I found this salon because I go to the gym across the street. What first caught my attention were the cute lights hanging in the windows lol. I am so glad I gave Urban Texture a try! Janine is the sweetest human and worked hard to make my hair everything I wanted. Couldn t be more thrilled with the experience, and will absolutely go back. Would highly recommend!!

There are not enough stars to rate this place.....I have been seeing Laurie (owner) for 20 years now. I have never gone to another salon since meeting her. You leave there as a friend not a customer. The products sold are always top quality and are paraben free, no harsh chemicals and environment friendly. The new salon in Beacon Hill is stunning and spotless. I have seen a few of the stylists at this location - Kate, Anicsha, Janine...they are all amazing. Lately I have been seeing Anicsha as she is a genius when it comes to coloring dark hair. She lightened up my hair and gave me the exact look I was wanting, not to mention is the sweetest human ever! Thanks guys, keep the great work xo

UTHS is an absolutely gorgeous salon with an excellent selection of Canadian made products. Everyone has always been very friendly and welcoming to me since I began coming in.
I see Michelle who is an amazing colourist that always exceeds my expectations. I highly recommend seeing her, especially if you re into bold, beautiful colours. She is also open and honest about the results you can expect when colouring your hair and about the upkeep certain colours require.

Worth every penny! I highly recommend Erin. I always feel like a million dollars after she cuts and styles my hair. She really keeps my hair looking fresh and healthy without losing my length.

Way over priced for what you get done. They quoted us a price and it ended up being double. Bring lots of money if you decide to go.

I can't say enough about Urban Texture Beacon Hill. They are beyond excellence in customer service and experienced hair stylist. I have very fine hard to manage hair that I have no patience for. Michele my stylist managed to give me the best colour and cut I have ever had so a huge thank-you to Michele for doing the impossible. Urban Texture will never lose my business and I will sing your praises. Thank-you again Urban Texture and Michele!!!!!!!!

Ugggh I have never left a bad review and I hate to do this to a local business but if you have long hair and are considering a colour PLEASE be aware. The place is beautiful and there social media is amazing with great reviews, which drew me to urban texture hair studio. However, I had two not so great experiences.

Twice, I came in to get subtle caramel baleage highlights. The first time, my hair (in excellent shape) had burnt off pieces all over where the face framing and back highlights were supposed to be....right before my wedding. The regrowth was so bad I had to come in and show them all of the pieces that were sticking up all over the place. They didn't seem concerned by this and I was referred me to another hairdresser with more experience working with brunettes. The second time, again it was over processed and more chucks burnt off. Once I'm understanding, but come on,....bleach needs to be monitored properly and please just be honest and tell me my hair is being left behind in the foil. The colour was beautiful but seriously not worth the damage and regrowth.

Bonus: If your considering a colour process, know that a haircut is included WHICH IS AMAZING....if someone tells you that. I was not told until the end of my second visit when I was done that a haircut and blowout was included.

I sat on this review for the last year because I don't want to do any harm to a business, but after learning during covid I could get gentle bleach and do it myself without harming my hair (I'm not a hairdresser), I can confidently say no one should have their hair burnt off if it's in good condition going in.

I was so nervous to try a different stylist, but I am glad I got Anicsha. She was amazing and did a wonderful job with my hair, a great listener and delivered exceptionally!! Very Happy!

Erin is my hairdresser and I have never had a bad haircut or color from her. She is so good at doing colours and highlights! I have sent many friends to Erin and they are all happy! You won't be disappointed!

Breanne was awesome! I was very blonde and wanted to go brunette and she knew exactly what I wanted and was very knowledgeable. She eased my fears and made it a great experience. The experience was great and the new salon is so lovely! Thank you again, Breanne, I will be back!

Great service, wonderful staff and they always take care of you! I always get more than I come in for. The girls are absolutely fun and make the experience so wonderful!

I love going to get my hair done, they do a great job every single time. It took me a while to find a stylist that got my hair and when I found urban hair studio and Krystal I was more than satisfied, she's amazing! They also do eyebrows but I haven't done that yet.

First time going to this salon and I have to say my hair experience was disappointing. Don t get me wrong, the people are pleasant and the salon itself is gorgeous. It was only when I got home and really had a look at my hair that I realized it wasn t done well. I have afro-textured hair with a dry, flaky scalp. She mentioned my flakes after she washed my hair but I didn't think it was so bad. She cut my hair just fine, but I had to question her when she wanted to cut my hair while still wet. That s not something done with my kind of hair. When I got home and looked up close in the mirror, it literally looked like my hair wasn t washed at all! I could see all the flakes. And my hair was dry and not as smooth as I m used to when I get my hair done at other salons. When booking my appointment, I specifically asked if my stylist has experience with textured hair and was told yes. But I honestly don t think she did. I m sure she s a great stylist, but she didn t do right by my hair. I wouldn t have been offended if I was told from the get go that they don t have experience with my type of hair. I would have actually welcomed the honesty. An expensive lesson learned.

The best experience I've ever had. These humans know hair and they do an incredible job of giving you hair that looks amazing and works for your lifestyle. Plus it feels great to support a local business that supports other local businesses and that composts and recycles! BEST.

This salon is gorgeous and clean and all of the employees are so kind and professional! What I love about coming here is that it never feels like a competition. While everyone is beautiful and stylish and "cool" I never feel bad or less than when I show up in my leggings and baggy t-shirt with dirty hair. Everyone is uplifting and truly likes to cheer each other on! Krystal is the BEST hair stylist I have ever had, seriously! I'm not even just saying that because she is an amazing human. She has a way of always knowing exactly what you want, even if you don't know how to explain it. I have been seeing her for 4 years now and have never left disappointed with my hair. She even rocked my wedding hair when I changed my mind (day of) with what I wanted. I have had other gals there help with the colouring and styling of my hair as well, and it has always turned out amazing.

Laurie has been doing my hair for several years now and I absolutely love it every time. The service is exceptional and I always leave the salon feeling beautiful! I would highly recommend this salon to anyone who is looking for talented stylists and a great all around salon experience.
