University of Calicut, here is the sde ( students of distance education) section thousands of study from Calicut , Malappuram, Thrissur, Palakkad, etc are studying here under distance dipartment of University of Calicut. Usually almost crowded with students in working time . You can pay fees chalan etc and get different applications forms from here (from the the Tagore Niketan). Here is wide parking area for bikes cars and other vehicles of students. Noticable from the main road (Calicut Thrissur road), so you have no problem of concussion. You get busses from ramanattukara at any time . And busses including ksrtc available from kondotty also.

Calicut university is 600 accers vast area. Calicut university bustop is here. Only 1 km from busstop. Many department is here. They are separated building.in every department students are studying several subjects. Each department have a head. Very good vibe here. Very big garden also here. It's open only in evenings

The campus locales are spread over 500 acres (2.0 km2) in rural outskirt of Malappuram. With Nirmaya Karmana Sree as it motto, the University has been able to surmount all challenges and emerge as the largest residential cum affiliating University in Kerala. Good looking, they build the building with money paid by supply students. If you get in, it's hard to get out. There are many colleges come under this, they supports sports items well. Actually, The University of Calicut is not situated according to it's name. It's actually situated at Thenjipalam, Malappuram. The university had especially strong faculty in MBA, Physics, Zoology, Chemistry, Botany, History, Malayalam, English and Physical Education. In 2000, the institute started the music department offering Post Graduate and PhD courses. The University of Calicut has about 480 colleges with a total annual intake of nearly 100,000 students. Colleges are spread over Kozhikode district (120 colleges), Thrissur district (101), Malappuram district (130), Palakkad district (86) and Wayanad district (18). 279 of these colleges are private colleges and the rest are government run. Most of these colleges offer only undergraduate degrees, while 88 others also offer postgraduate degrees.
My experience with the university is not at all good. I graduated fom this university in 2012 and until that time none of their administrative works were proper...The results did not come in time, the exams conducted had one or the other issues etc
I don't know about studies and life here as a student,but i went here as a participant in a fest. The Management was OK, the University is old but adequately maintained, that's all i can say.
I would advice all new students seeking addmission here.... to stay away becoz of the following reason Results are always late Revaluation is slopy To get a degree is 3 years but in calicut university it may take 5 or 7 years
Here I read Many reviews about the university saying that it won't follow academic calendar, won't distribute certificate in time, notorious in conducting exams on time and supplementary exams won't conduct. I agree every thing but I love the syllabus and tight exams here which makes you fit enough to write competitive exams and helps to excel in your field. I am really thankful to this university and I love this place very much.
The institution has played a significant role in improving the social standards of the region by imparting higher education to a very large number of students coming from socially backward sections. Considering the reach and the populace it serves, the role is nonpareil, not just for Kerala but probably for the whole of India. However, the institution is hardly student-friendly. the employees are not exposed to any sensitisation. Hence the numerous negative comments from students who had to at one point or another had to bear the brunt of callous officialdom dominating almost every government office in this country. Still, there are remarkable differences when this institution is compared with an average government office. Bribe is non-existent. There are many employees who go the extra mile in serving students. There is also relatively better office environment in which there is a fairly significant chance of a student or member of the public getting prompt and proper service.

Worst unuversity ever in the matter of publication of results. The officials are playing with the life of students, they had even spoiled the life of many. It takes more than 6 months to publish the results. Anarchy at its peak here.
University with the distinction of taking forever to publish the exam results . Wonder what they are literally doing, seems they are just dozing in the office and getting paid for that. Business in the revaluation of answer papers is the unspoken truth. The worst decision I have ever taken was to study under calicut university
