Had to go to the er at UTMC, and could not have been any more disappointed. I did not see an attending for four hours. The resident I did see after an hour was neither professional or compassionate. Would not return or recommend.

Awful place to study. I recommend literally any other school as you are not a person to these people just $$$ signs. Look up how much they pay these terrible professors it is public info and will make you sick. No wonder tuition is extremely high.

Each time I call I never get anybody that seems to want to help. The counselor said she is like an advocate, and would not transfer me. And told me I better off going somewhere else for a surgery. My husband is confined to his bed, because he can't get his surgery. And I'm not sure where else to turn.

Emergency room experience was horrible. 1st and foremost nobody seemed to care about anything that was happening . A lot of laughing and playing going on in the nurses station. I had 1 good physician on 3rd shift who explained things to me. Others were in and out of the room with little to no explanation of what was going on with me. I came at 4:30am was released at 9 and the best answer they could give me was to follow up with my Doctor because they were not sure of what is actually going on (no surprise honestly) it was my 1st and last time at UTMC emergency room. I am not sure about the rest of the hospital but the emergency room was a horrible experience for me.

The dental office was a good experience the student dentist was amazing they realized an issue that I've had as long as I can remember that no dentist Ive ever had has caught. At one point I was a valet there and as far as I saw 95% of the time the place was spotless just like any other place someone can trash a bathroom and you just happen to walk in right behind them. Everyone I've met there was very respectful sometimes there just is not pleasing people.

This hospital and staff have been amazing with my father's care with the exception of their laboratory. I had to take my father for a blood draw before he was suppose to have his heart catherization, we waited about 20 minutes before I approached the counter for a second time to see if anyone was working . I saw a young security officer leaning against the counter talking and laughing with someone behind the wall. I asked to speak to somene and was told to wait and have a seat. When I sat back down, my father began to have chest pain, so I approached the counter again to explain the situation looking for help. When I said my father was having chest pain, I was told the er was around the corner, and that I could take him. No one offered to help and I had to get him a wheelchair on my own and try to find my way to the er, all the while he is still complaining of his chest hurting. I believe this is completely unacceptable and no one person acted like they cared. Is this the way that the lab is normally ran? I find it sad that no one had compassion for my father or myself!

Will never go back the staff is rude and unprofessional they lefted me sitting for hours without checking on me! I had a cat scan done they had the results but only gave me half of what it said which was serious when my doctor read the report she was furious they let me leave without contacting her or doing anything! The doctor acted like she didn't care about her patients at all and the triage nurse was the worst she was so rude then it took my nurse 4 times blowing my veins before she called for help then never even used the iv ! There was not one friendly or helpful person in this hospital I we never go back! The waiting room with disgusting and the bath room had blood on seat and floor!

Worst experience ever at a "hospital". Their medical staff was rude and didn't seem like that they wanted to be there. The orthopedic doctor that I was given to was young, inexperienced , hasty and seemed like he didn't know hat he was talking about. They also tried to over charge me my bill. After numerous calls and emailing them my canceled checks from my bank proving that I paid their bill, I finally got it resolved. The whole staff at UTMC made it very clear that they just don't care about their patients there. I'm 47 years old, have lived in four states, and can't count the many times that had to go to a hospital. I can honestly say that this was the worst "hospital" experience that I ever had, and will never go there again.

Doctors do not follow up after procedures with results. One doctor told me she preformed a biopsy and I found out two weeks later that it was never done. I was told two weeks ago that I was having a surgical procedure on July 1 however they never followed up and gave me a specific time or pre surgical instructions. I have tried to call the office several times to get the information and I m always told someone will call me back and that never happened. Now the day before my price they tell me that it was never scheduled and they can t do it for two weeks because the doctor only does surgeries every other week. I wouldn t recommend any UTMC doctor or facility that I have been to in the last six weeks, It baffles me that they have managed to keep this place open as long as they have. Unfortunately my family doctor is through UTMC so all of her referrals have been made there as well. I will be finding a new family doctor so I don t ever have to deal with this place again.

Horrible experience all around. The doctor that I was seeing spent 2 minutes with me out of 5 visits. The rest of the time I was seen by PA's and the one just blew me off. Went to see another surgeon for 2cd opinion and he immediately said I needed surgery.

Most of the staff was extremely friendly, there were a vew that were pretty rude and seemed bothered to be there! The orthopedic surgeon Dr. Hanna was wonderful, I would highly recommend him. There were a few down sides to my husbands stay, like it took 5 nurses and 10 blown veins to get an iv in. Also the pain medicine he was on after surgery wasn't helping his pain much so he asked to be put on a different medication and was told no but other than that it was wa very pleasant stay.

Multiple portions reviewed - I have always received excellent treatment at the ER for either me or my children. Had to visit recently for one of my children and received very quick, caring, concerned care from triage to the nurses to the PAs who took care of us.

I also see my regular physician (PCP) via their network at the South Toledo Internal Medicine clinic on Glenwood. They've recently moved into a new building, which I don't like. In my view it is too similar to a hospital setting. When I visit my doctor, I like it to be in a more intimate environment and not a hospital setting which makes me think of catching the flu and other stuff that people all around me may have. Also don't like all the shuffling.

I like my regular doctor and the PAs I have seen however at the clinic.

Would give UTMC 5 stars except they have a low level of customer service in my view from the support staff. All medical professionals I've encountered are very good. However, the staff/front office of nearly every specialty/group, along with registration desk/checkin/check out personnel, almost all of them are rather rude and need some training in customer service or to be fired. They are very unprofessional and talk too much to each other and gossip and sound like they have attitude problems, which is the reason behind the lack of a star. Not all of them are this way, but literally it seems 9 out of 10 of them are. When you call they are rude and act like they don't want to talk to you and want you to hurry up and get off the phone. They rarely even say their name when they answer the phone, which is phone customer service etiquette 101. I know it is hard to hire a good quality employee at lower level/lower paid positions, but UTMC is a state employer and IMO they need to ensure they have a higher quality staff or get rid of those that aren't. Review made after just calling the South Toledo Internist group to ask that a refill be sent for my fast action asthma inhaler. I asked if it could be sent to the pharmacy prior to noon. The representative just basically said it wouldn't since my doctor was not in this morning and won't be in until the afternoon. I told the lady that I often see a PA on staff there as well and to ask the PA to send it in. This is an asthma inhaler and I was having trouble breathing. Showed an extreme lack of care and lack of professionalism. She finally just came back and said "it will be sent" and didn't say if it would be in the morning or not. If I were her boss I'd probably discipline her. Going to also send a recommendation for customer service training to UTMC executives/management as I know people in that level at UTMC. Reps never know who they are speaking with and it would behoove them to treat all public with respect and professionalism and care, since they work for a healthcare facility and people's health and lives are at stake at times with every phone call.

The UT is by far the best Emergency Medicare Hospital that I ever have been to!!! They showed me all the love of the world in just one visit... I Love how unbiased they are... The hospital was clean and very respectful, tdd he information desk was welcoming to not just the Google Guides but also to all participants and patient that enters the UT. God Bless this hospital and anyone that works for this Beautiful Hospital... I Look forward to seeing you again...

Extremely rude nurses in ER! Was having a migraine and vertigo that lasted for 5 days. Anytime I tried to talk to the nurses they interrupted me and kept saying, "oh, your headache?" In an extremely condescending tone. They insisted I only had a headache even though I lost sight in one of my eyes, vertigo, sensitivity to light, nausea, and extreme pain. They gave me Tylenol, and sent me home with a bill for a few thousand dollars. I went somewhere else and ended up getting the help I needed, which included two months of physical therapy. DO NOT GO HERE! THEY ARE MISERABLE AND WILL NOT HELP!

This was hands down the worst experience I ever received. The doctor talked to me like I was stupid. I was in a fragile state because hospitals make me nervous and she did not help. I went off on the doctor and told her she is absolute worst at her job. I really wish someone would of told me utmc sucks do bad at servicing people in care before I went. The lack of respect and consideration was ridiculous.

PLEASE DO NOT GO TO THE ER!! Triage RN's are miserable, and do NOT appropriately triage you. They are RUDE and that is an understatement. The equipment is outdated, staff RN's lack the very basic skill of appropriate specimen collection. They are not knowledgeable in basic droplet precautions or any other safety standard for that matter. I watched a nurse tell a gentleman next to me that he would get a physician as requested, and instead security returned and forced him to leave. IT TOOK FOUR HOURS TO RECEIVE MEDICATION, OXYGEN, OR AN MD TO ASSESS DURING AN ASTHMA ATTACK!! And that is AFTER I complained, half dead. To be honest I saw the MD before my nurse!! I didnt see my nurse for at least 6 hours! The nurses gossiped and complained at the Nurses station, so I basically knew a general run down of every patient around me, HELLO HIPPA!!? My list is longer, but you get the idea. Just drive a bit further and go to a better ER.

UTMC is my new favorite hospital. Nurses are all terrific! The doctors and those completing tests--ultrasound, x-ray, vascular center, ortho dept and anything I might have missed--discerned my health problems and saved my life--TWICE!

Can you say law suit because that is what's about to happen. My mother was pot in there mental health facility in may. I was lied to I was put on a no contact list and lied to for four days by the nurses in the kobacker center also by the administrator the social workers and the hospital administrator. saying my mother was sleeping Everytime I called. I was not aware of her second conference call with her Dr and was called from the number that I called when trying to speak with my mother when I called back I was told there was no call made. When infact the social worker had called me from the number not herst wile at work she as well called five min before the conference knoing I had no Pryer knowledge and would not be able to answer. Spoke with the hospital administrator the day my mother was released and was told my mother was going o her sisters infact was a lie my mother was put in a nursing home on the call of a brother who has been astranged fro my mother for over 10 years and I have every phone conversation recorded so if I was anyone thinking about allowing a loved one o be admitted to any unit in this hospital they will violate every rite of yours and your loved ones. Thank God I record and keep detail records of anything I do names times and conversation

Contrary to all the negative comments about UTMC my daughters have always received excellent care from all staff. Both girls have Epilepsy and follow with Dr. Imran Ali. Hospital staff and office staff, for us at least, habe been top notch! Just be mindful that human nature is quick to complain and slow to compliment. Happy New Year to all!!

My husband went through a very traumatic experience this past week. We are not toledo natives, he was there on business when this happened. The staff at this hospital was fantastic! Warm, caring, kind and considerate. They explained EVERYTHING. From the ER to the surgical team (Dr. Heidt) to the 5th floor nurses (Mandy, Heather, angie, teni sha, kara) all the way to ICU (Robin and tricia) I wish I could remember everyone. We were there a week. Thank you from the bottom of our heart's! We can never repay you for your kindness!!

There is one man in the emergency room that I don't care for, (Steve someone or another.) However, regular care is pretty good. Dr. Atallah in pain management is an angel- very straight and to the point, but always trying to help. Intelligent Drs treat their patients intelligibly ... Stupid ones, treat their patients like they are fools... It's a projection thing, I guess. The insecure are usually too prideful to admit it. *Cough... Drs in Toledo in general, often act this way.... (Except for the truly genius ones... )

Dr.Grubb and his staff at the Heart and Vascular Center were absolutely phenomenal. When deciding to have a medical procedure, he provided us with balanced research articles to read and never pressured me. He is reassuring, empathetic, knowledgeable and at the top of his field. We drive 4-5 hours. to go there and see him. People go there from all around the world for their doctor's care. In reference to comments others said about facilities, I can only speak to what I saw. The bathrooms were clean. The nurses were friendly. I never waited more than 45 to 15 minutes or less for him, which is average. He saved my life in my opinion. He's an excellent doctor at an excellent hospital.

If it was possible to not give star and still write a review I would. From the moment we were in registration the woman was absolutely rude. My fiance could barely talk or sit up and he insisted for him to answer questions I knew the answers to. She began speaking of her daughter and how rough it is to be going on your own .. Which was nice but wasn't relevant to my fiances needs.once we got a room. He asked for a blanket because he was shivering . she gave him a pee cup and told him to go pee in it . he expressed he could not , he couldn't even keep water down but she was forcing the issue. He said he would try but if he could have a blanket and with a smart remark she said after you pee in this cup you can get a blanket ? Excuse me that's not acceptable for the pure fact he could not pee at all he was in so much pain he couldn't sit up and so cold his skin was cold but he was sweating . I will NEVER go back to that place. VERY SHAMEFUL

Absolutely the worst medical attention that I have ever received. Communication was non existent. I was on the operating table for 9 hours for a procedure that should have been 3-4 hours. Post operative procedures were & have been pathetic. Avoid this place if at all possible

This place refused surgery on my left hand. I was diagnosed with compartment syndrome. My hand swelled to the point of fluid was seeping through my skin. The interns took pictures with their cell phones and forwarded them to the surgeon. Not once did the surgeon visit my room in person. He made the decision solely based of those two pictures. I now have no feeling in my fingers, almost no use of my hand and I can in constant pain from nerve damage. I was sent to this bandaid station from another hospital for emergency surgery, which never happened. I now live in pain, unable to do daily tasks and am on continued nerve and pain mmedication. I wouldn't take my dead dog to this place. I'm sure they'd find way to mess that up to.

Worst medical center I have ever had to deal with. No one calls you back they bill you for services with out contacting your insurance send lab tests to pathologists who are out of network causing you higher bills when you thought you were in network. When you and your insurance call and leave messages they don't call you back because they billed you for services that should have been preventative.

I was warned not to go to UTMC and I didn't listen so everyone else, please take the advice I didn't and stay far away!

Very poor communication with patients. A family member had went through some surgery, even though the surgery center knew that that the patient had a family member there in waiting room, the nurses or doctor never bothered to think it was necessary to speak to the family. So they spoke to the patient who had just went through surgery and was still under the effects of the anesthesia . Shame on them!!! Very unprofessiomal.

This place is horrible! If I could give it zero stars I would. Brought my dad in to the ER for afib issues, they agreed and let us sit in the ER room for 6 hours! Didn t get a room, had to beg for food and water fur an 83 year old.. this is borderline elderly abuse..

This place is a admitted my girlfriend for absolutely no reason made her stay till 6 pm to get test results that were done at 8am. In the end they wanted her to stay another night for another test ! Staff was extremely rude and the doctor that admitted her told her next time "she could die at home" they're lucky I wasn't there what kind of hospital thinks this is acceptable

I went to the emergency room in june of 2017. The staff was incredibly attentive and kind in the emergency room, but it is the events afterwards that have led me to give them such a low rating. After a few weeks I made an appointment for August 2nd at 9am during the month of July for the Rupert Center in order to get a cyst removed that was/is still causing me pain. When I went to my appointment both registration desks at the center claimed they had no record of me going to the emergency room or making an appointment! After calling my insurance to sort it out, the insurance company informed me that they were billed by UTMC in June so I had to have been there!

If it is so frustratingly easy to lose a person's medical records then it is no wonder your establishment was sued for losing a donor organ! If I could blacklist the whole lot of you then I would! Not only do I feel embarrassed, I honestly do not feel like I can ever trust this hospital again.

You probably would cut me open, wind up killing me, then blame my own death on me!

Beverly Karabin NP is extremely knowledgeable and I enjoyed my first visit with her. Spent a sufficient amount of time with me and explained things throughly. Dr. Grubb put in my Linq and was very nice as well. He did an excellent job. Would recommend this facility for anyone who deals with POTs or arrhythmias.
