Visiting the U.S. Capitol is an experience that should not be passed up. There's incredible views, picture taking opportunities, and much history to learn. Unfortunately, our tour guide was quite rude but it didn't get in the way of having a good time. Even had the chance to walk right by Speaker of the House Paul Ryan. That's certainly not something that happens every day!
Quite an unparalleled marvel for one to behold and an absolute pinnacle of architecture. However, the occupants of this establishment have no more of a demeanor than that of a zombie. They just seem to mope about and don't really do anything. Kind of diminishes the experience.
Such a beautiful place. Go see it and walk all the way around it and take it all in. Then go on the tour inside the building. Wait in the line, it s worth it.
Must see to appreciate our American Heritage! Cafe served a nice variety of meals.
The place is very beautiful and has a free museum where you can learn a little about the history of the United States (with unique photographs) and about the laws and the Senate, from time to time there are guided tours. It also has a tunnel through which you can you can go to the public library (it has one of the copies of the first bibles published by Gutenberg) and like all the monuments of Washigton it has a souvenir shop.
Worth the money, students enjoyed the History lesson, kept their attention!

Good tour, but lines for viewing chamber were long. Only a handful of people allowed.
Neat tour but was under construction so tour was very limited
Great place to visit well worth it get a feeling for the history of america here I felt real inspirational.
Very beautiful! Tourist point and postcard of the city. Great place to take pictures. Beautiful view of the sunset. We have come back to know the back that is as beautiful as the front. I learned later that it is possible to visit the inside, maybe next time ..
Mandatory stop for a photo!
Admission is free (but I didn't have time to visit), and you have a guided tour for tourists, and if you are a Brazilian you can ask for your pamphlet in Portuguese.
Very beautiful building, and worth walking up to and getting good pictures. We went on a Labor Day Monday and the outside area wasn't too crowded. Definitely recommend visiting in the evening during the summer time to avoid the heat and to get bigger pictures.
Limits on things with no sign. I went to purchase 4 small bottles of hand sanitizer. There is no shortage of hand sanitizer now. You can find it anywhere. Cashier said limit 1. I said, how am I to know with no signs. She shrugged it off. Amazon got my business this time due to incompetent employees.
Inspiring tour, amazing short film on the history of Liberty
Impressive. But often under restoration and therefore obscured by various construction sites.
A great place to visit. Got a glimpse of some of the Senators in a hallway. We had a great guide to set our visit up! What a beautiful place! The inside artwork is awesome. Highly recommend and ready to go back!
Impressive experience. Try to go early morning and do the tour. Also the cafeteria is really good. Don t miss the gift store .
Very cool place! Glad we took time to visit it! The tour was very neat.
Historic place and very cool to visit but a very inefficient workplace.
Capitol, Washingto D.C. - Next to the white house, the landmark of Washington.
It is one of the most famous buildings in the United States. You can reach areas around the Capitol and take pictures of the surroundings, all very well maintained and really spectacular.
A must see if you're in DC. Visit the library of congress as well while you're at it. There is a tunnel that connects the two. It was pretty easy to reserve a tour space online. Only thing is the entrance is tricky. I had to walk around the entire building before finding it. It is on the East side, btw.
Hello Moin ....
Yes Washington the Capitol so this is a building that you really so wrong
The White House may be a bit bigger
............ .but if you are at the Capitol and this huge forecourt first overcome and this huge staircase goes up and this huge really
extremely large dome sees that is really amazing this whole city is so splendidly divided in the respects where one looks also sees one
...... ... all the famous things and the Capitol is truly a remarkable landmark
We were there in very good weather and could enjoy very nice photos as well as the view when they are in Washington
I can only recommend you to the Capitol
to go and also nearby museums
not all are paid to visit
but also various are free
Just catching a glimpse of this from the Mall is awe inspiring.
Recently got a much closer look at the capitol. The building is more impressive the closer you get. Unfortunately the lawn facing Mall was closed off for christmas decorating/tree.
Good work these past few months, minus the whole internet bill thing, other than that things are looking up.
"Legendary?" home of the US Legislature. Who at Google wrote that? 5 stars for the place, 1 star for the Google caption. Who meets there? Justice League of America? "Iconic" may fit the White House. Did Google somehow think no one would notice?
Beautiful building. I learned a lot during my visit. I heard that it is possible to get tours inside the building if you plan your visit in advance. Hope to get an opportunity to visit the building again and do the tour soon.
Must visit place when in Washington DC, very beautiful place
Well worth doing a tour but make sure you book in advance!
An impressive place, where you can also take a guided tour for free
The tour guide was very knowledgeable. The staff was friendly. But, if you are going to dine in the Capitol cafeteria, you better be ready to fork out a few extra bucks. Good food. Just expensive.
The experience was totally eye opening for my granddaughter on how government works and to see the Chambers of Congress and Senate.
To visit our Representative from the Great State of Georgia was fascinating. A very good experience.
Great tour was able to walk on the floor of the house of representatives, I still don't know what the small red button on the back of the seat is for. The speakers balcony was also open.

To see a lot of things I learned about in history was monuments!
It is our first time in Washington DC and we love it. What a beautiful city. The US Capitol its mind blowing. The architecture and the perfection of every little detail just take your breath away. The tours inside the Capitol are completely free. If you don t have reservation, they ll fit you in the next tour available. After seeing the Capitol, we went to the Library of Congress through the tunnel that connects both monuments. Very nice experience.
Ansolutely magnificent landmark. A must see place. Close by are Botanic conservatory and national garden where you could take a break from seeing Washingtons museums and monuments.
Amazing building and excellent tour. One of my favorite places in USA. Highly recommended!!
It was an amazing once in a lifetime opportunity to go there and up to the top.
One of the most popular attractions of Washington. You can make great photos.
Spellbounding architecture and great place to visit in DC.Just inspiring and a top attraction in DC.
There was a theater about America and a tour around the amazing building after that. Long line but worth it. Shorter line with reservations.
This is the numero-uno sightseeing place in Washington DC, what a magnificent building that shines bright white in the sunlight though there is restricted entry hours, the view from outside is breathtaking. Photos are allowed everywhere there is access though I did not find any suitable parking nearby. This could easily be the starting point of the day long walk in the area visiting other attractions like the various museums and monuments leading to the Lincoln memorial at the far end and then to the white house.
This place has:
Yes=Ramp access.
Yes=A wheelchair-accessible Entrance.
Yes=A wheelchair-accessible Restroom/Toilet.

The Capitol Building is beautiful in form and representation. Removed from the politics of it all, the building has come to represent a democratic society and does so with a level of grandeur not often seen in American architecture. The amount of detail in this building is amazing and the short, but sweet, tour they regularly offer 6 days a week is highly informative. My favorite room is the Rotunda, which features 8 massive and important paintings that many Americans will have seen in their textbooks during school, such the painting of President Washington's surrendering of power when he left the office (the first peaceful handing over of power). This location is a MUST-SEE when visiting Washington, both the outside of the building and the free tour inside.
Beautiful.
Worth knowing.
Wow! I have never felt so safe speaking my mind than I did here. Be real careful of who you pay for a tour of the Capital or D.C. though. I walked by one and the guy was promoting Jefferson Davis. I heard say that inside the Capital there were places where slaves were raised up. I noticed an African-American couple on this tour and I asked them if they paid money for this tour. They said "yes." I also asked them if they noticed something wrong with tour. They said "no." I wanted to go over to the guy and tell him to shut-up and give all the people their money back, but there are police every where. You'd think it would be protected free speech like the idiot running the tour, but I didn't want to risk jail.
It's good to tour because they organize in convenient. So I know more about U.S.A.
I am amazed how well they handled the massive crowds of people here! This was impressive and they still managed to make everything interesting. Great job Capitol crew!
The free tours of government buildings are the best!
The building is really beautiful. It's very big and amazing to see.
The tour was pretty disappointing. We saw three rooms, we waited longer in line than the tour itself. We weren't allowed to wander and were rushed through everything because there were other tours literally on our heels. We had to stay as a group at all times and the opportunity to take photos was very limited. Although the tourguide was knowledgeable I don't think she gave us a good tour.
We had an amazing guide from Senator Deb Fisher's office. Thank you!
Unfortunately when I went the dome was under renovation..the structure is very imposing..you can do several guided tours depending on how long you have..I visited the free areas and then I reached the Congress library with the underground passage .. there are several controls .. the inputs ..
It's a spectacular U.S. Capitol hill, one of the landmarks that was always destroyed in the disaster movie. An appointment can go in, it's just as spectacular, and the capital has to come and run.

absolutely biiiiig.stunning view over the rest of the esplanade, it is worth walking up to the lincoln memorial to see the other side.
We did not take the tour due to time constraints. Instead we chose to walk around the Capitol. The architecture and the area around the Capitol is incredible. Next time I will plan ahead so that we can take advantage of the tours that are offered.
The U.S. Capitol is the seat of Congress, the legislature of the federal government of the United States. It was built in Washington, D.C., on Capitol Hill at the eastern end of the National Mall. Although it is not located in the geographical center of the District of Columbia, the Capitol is the focus of city planning, so quarter of the district begins here. This palace is famous for the large dome standing on the rotunda. It has 1 wing for each House of Parliament: the north wing of the Senate and the south wing of the House of Representatives. In each of these wings is the main chamber of the chamber, on which a room for ordinary people to watch the actions of the Senate and the House of Representatives.
Such an impressive site ... hard to really appreciate its sheer size without seeing in person. Definitely worth the tour ... especially if you're able to see inside chambers.
..... ....
We had a tour arranged by our congressman. Beats the public tour by a mile
History comes to life!! Must see sit back and life History!
This is a great place to come and visit. HOWEVER......the security here is RUDE ! They make you get naked pretty much and put everything through the conveyer belt. I I took off my hat and scarf and put them in the bowel they gave me and man ripped it out if my hands and put it on the belt, when it was all nasty and dirty. Then after I've gone through, the other security guard tells me to step aside, so I was waiting for my husband and the same guard yells at me to step through the doors. Just RUDE ! Once you get passed all that and get dressed again. It's a pretty cool building. They just need new guards.
Q had us fly over the Capital and again an Owl was seen .Amazing they don't really hide their symbols . Just look around and many symbols can be seen . Q is the best
