It is worth a visit .. rich in monuments, history and culture. Really impressive.

Did the American people create and vote for the laws that you have passed. No. You have passed them for your own benefits.

One can't help but feel a sense of National pride here.

We had a tour booked and even though our headphones kept dropping out we still loved it! Amazing paintings, sculptures and our guide was very knowledgeable. The building itself was much bigger than I'd ever imagined!

Wonderful place. Great architecture. Pity we can't take the inside tour though.

Exhibition Hall at the US Capitol Visitor Center

Exhibition Hall is the home of E Pluribus Unum - Out of Many One, the only exhibition in the world dedicated to telling the story of the United States Congress and the United States Capitol.

Exhibition Hall presents original documents and artifacts, videos, interactable models, computer interactions and two small theaters, offering visitors an in-depth look at how the Congress works, the history of the Capitol and Congress, as well as information on representatives and senators.

It was greatly informative! I've only learned about the US from my textbooks, but the tours really bring it to another level! I'm not a citizen and I don't stay there so unfortunately I can't contact any Rep. or anything, so I guess that was the only downside. Wait I think that's not the only one. There was just too many people. I went on Black Friday, but still the crowds were ridiculous. The tour was too rushed, and we missed some pretty awesome statues and paintings. That's my only complaint. Although, if you do ask me, I'll definitely come back to visit again. Once is never enough! :)

Visit Your Capitol and Your Heritage; but Most important. VOTE!

It s a pretty neat place to visit for tourists. Also the architecture is exquisite! They seem to always be renovating it in some way though

Beautiful rotunda, informative tour. Both senate and house was devoid of senators and representatives - disappointing, especially since just this morning Scalise got a standing ovation welcome back.

Such a beautiful buildung with such a great and big history.
As Germans it was easy to get to the house and senate galleries.
If you are in Washington DC you have to see it.

Pharaonic construction, unfortunately in May the restoration dome was half covered, it could not be seen perfectly

Need to make an appointment in advance to collect tickets. Security is very strict. Great, worth a visit!

The US Capitol is the office building of the US Congress, located on a height of 83 feet above sea level in the capital city of Washington. In 1793, George Washington, the first president of the United States, laid the foundation for himself. He used the design blueprint of William Thornton, the first winner of the Capitol Design Competition, and was completed and used in 1800. In the second war between Britain and the United States in 1814, the British army used it to burn it. It was rebuilt in 1819 until it was completed again in 1867. It was later rebuilt and expanded to reach the current scale.

According to the US Constitution, the buildings in Washington, DC, must not exceed the height of Congress, so the Capitol on Capitol Hill became the highest point in Washington. Standing on the Capitol, looking out into the distance, all the neighborhoods in Washington City are centered on this, with a variety of sights.

The tour of the capitol was awesome, my sister's and myself really enjoyed the history of the capitol, Chris our tour guide was just great.

Great visit! A guided tour was included and our guide was very knowledgeable with historical facts I never knew of. After the tour we walked the tunnel to the library of Congress which has a very nice museum. Thomas Jefferson's collection of books was impressive as well as WWI memorabilia etc.

Can be a bit of a wait but is well worth it for the experience and history. Be sure to travel through the tunnel to the Library of Congress.

We stumbled into the Capitol as it was rainy, and got on a free tour, and it really exceeded our expectations. The headphones to listen to our tour guide is a really clever idea as there s nothing worse than being on a tour and not being able to hear. Gave a really good introduction to US politics. You can see the stunning architecture and the paintings. I d 100% recommend. Our tour guide was knowledgeable, engaging and entertaining. I loved it.

Nice tour and you could actually see the senators at work! Everything else was free!

Slightly interesting - started with a propaganda film about what a great job Congress does representing the citizens of this country followed by a tour led by a guide with no personality.

The US Capitol is a must-see attraction in Washington. I've served as a tour guide - and have been on tours led by others. It is a great place to work and an even better place to visit. Schedule tours in advance with your local Representative or Senator for the best experience.

We were able to get passes to see the capitol. While we were only able to view 4 rooms, it is truly beautiful. The scale of the building and artwork is amazing. Our guide was very informative. A true walking encyclopedia.

In 2015, I visited Washington D.C for a 8th grade field trip and this was one of the attractions we visited. During the time, The Capital was going through some construction on the inside (specifically the dome) and it kinda made the experience like we didn't get to see it fully in its glorified state. I experienced the audio tour with my class and the headphones they provided, were the cheapest headphones I've ever used and it would sometimes get caught in your hair, therefore pulling it out when you took off the headphones. However, my class got to see beautiful paintings throughout The Capital, learned more about the building itself, and see the architecture of the building. Truly an important building in American history and something to cross off your bucket list.

Tour was okay. Not worth the trouble unless you have a middle school child

I expected more... Unfortunately the rotunda was closed.

When we visited this place, it was snowing and it looked so beautiful. It was our first snow experience as well. This is very important building and must see if you are in Washington D.C. It looks great during night time.

An amazing experience for everyone to do, a guided tour which was about 1 hour long to see the capitol dome felt powerful and was the beacon of freedom and you will feel it!

During the weekend, it would have been more conducive to visit the interior .. nevertheless, the building remains impressive, with an incredible view!

A great building to come see! Do not expect to see any work being done in it though!

Place that you have to visit obligatorily. The dome is beautiful. It's worth it although there are many people.

Visited the Congregation Council in Washington, DC, the capital of the United States, can say ... very impressed.

Very interesting, if partly very surreal (George Washington staged as a god in the dome - looks almost blasphemous if you still have the other attitude of the Americans to faith in mind).

Definitely worth a visit if you are politically interested. The guide also did a good job.

Best is you book your tour time on their webpage. What they don t tell you on the webpage is, that you can t see the House or Senate when you are on the last tour. They close those rooms by 4 p.m.

We took the tunnel from the Library of Congress over to the Capital Building. Ended up arriving at the Capital Building right in time to start a tour. They played a nice 15-20 minute video on the history of the Capital Building and then you get to go up into the dome and view some of the other rooms.

This is some amazing history and architecture. The tour took about an hour and was well worth it. The tour is free but you do need to get timed tickets. Additionally the cafeteria in the Capital Building is reasonably priced and has very good food. We enjoyed our lunch here too! Definitely a recommended stop for any trip to DC.

This place was a wonderful experience to tour. There was a lot of interesting things to see, from the architecture of the building its self. To the paintings ant statues in side. I would go back again if I could. The only thing I disliked during the tour was how packed the places was. But other than that, if your going to DC, I highly recommend getting a tour of this magnificent place.

Great view from across the street. Lawn right up to the steps. No boundaries like at the White House. Great to see during sunset. Short walk from the museum's in the National Mall.

Interesting and free to visit. They are extremely annoying when you visit the chambers; you're not allowed to stand whatsoever.

If you are a US Citizen, call your Congress Man/Woman and or your Senator. They will "hook you up" with a personalized tour and it is AWESOME! Even thought the tour guide 9 times out of 10 is an intern, ours was very knowledgeable in every question, doubt and comment of the Capitol Had a great time and I commend those who work there and take care of the place. I highly recommend this place!

The U.S. Capitol is an absolutely must-see when in the D.C. area. I had the privilege of touring and visiting the Capitol on a number of occasions while living in the D.C. area growing up as well as during family visits and business travels.

It is beautiful visually from so many vantage spots both inside and around the exterior and surrounding campus.
