Amazing! This is definitely a must-see for everyone. The tour is phenomenal!

Everyone seems to love the tour, but it seems sad to me. When I lived in Washington in the 80s you could wander through most of the Capitol on your own. It's now totally regimented into group tours. They would probably shoot you if you strayed from the canned program.

Incredible history. Impressive sights. Don't miss going on a tour, seeing the House or Senate in session, or stopping by your Senator's office.

Wonderful building , love the history, and absolutely beautiful. Only negative thing is how horrid our tour guide P. Sullivan was. He had an attitude from the very start and threatened to eject a member of our group for coughing. Seems to me that if you are unhappy with your job, perhaps you are in the wrong line of business. Just saying someone needs to give this man a serious reality check!

We really enjoyed the informative and amazing visit because here the fate of millions of Americans is played out.

Amazing place to go to for a tour and visit the US Capitol. The tours are very well run. However, be ready to wait in a long line for security checks (up to 40 min) and later again in the line for the tickets validation even if you booked a visit via internet. Admission is for free.
You can use a tunnel and go directly to the Library of Congress. This way you will skip a line at the Library s entrance.
The lunch self service restaurant was surprisingly very good.

Wow this place is truly remarkable seeing your government in action! I was able to go on the tour of the capitol they start the two are off with a short video of the history of America on how the two houses got started the senate in the House of Representatives and the history of how England burnt down the first capital which was made of wood in the center and then the two sides which are they still are today then went and got two passes from my United States senator from New York to sit in on the Senate while was in session and also the House Representatives such a cool experience just really amazing and then I went down and ate in the cafeteria in the US Capitol food was really good extremely pricey but extremely very good food!

First off, the U.S. Capitol is one of the most beautiful buildings ever constructed. All of you grouches who slam it because you don't like the people who work there need to grow up. I love visiting the Capitol Building. Show it respect. It is the seat of government. I don't like the president, but I still respect the Oval Office. And finally, it's where I'm gonna be working someday.

I applied for a tour tour in advance by WEB reservation. It will be filled from several months ago. When entering the building, security was very strict and it took about an hour to enter. The tour will first show the importance of the Capitol in the video. The degree of completion is high.

The Capital Tour was definitely worth the time & very enjoyable. Just be prepared, that there are very extensive security checks (since this is the U.S. Capital).

I had the fortune of Visiting Capitol recently. This is the most magnificent iconic building there is. The experience started with great ease at the visitor center. The tour was booked in advance online so it was very easy. We started the trip with north wing. The tour guide was extremely knowledgeable and she gave full details of the history of each part of the building. The best part of the tour was to see the central dome. There is no limit to the time here that you can spend. Each and every portrait, statue and carvings have a story depicting the tales of this great nation. This was once in a lifetime experience for a traveler like me. I strongly recommend this tour on your visit to DC.

So much history in one place. Do yourself a favor and come visit in person.

Overall an excellent experience. The reception area and grounds are very nice, the movie and tour of the rotunda was well presented. The cafeteria was clean and offered good choices for all during lunch hours. It would be hard to improve the experience of visiting the Capital. Really liked the tunnel system to the library of Congress.

The United States Capitol building is really an awesome place. It was very cool to learn about its history and to get a tour one of the most recognizable buildings in the nation.

Definitely a must visit in DC. Free tours offered of the capital and the library of Congress! Beautiful buildings and great historic information.

A public tour was provided free of charge. I was able to book tickets the previous day which is fantastic.

Probably one of the best stops in washington. The tour was excellent and free. Just amazing part of u.s. history and the whole place was very intriguing.

It was very delightful! Everyone was courteous and very helpful! Overall it was a great experience!

I didn't know to go to the visitor center in the north. So I went back .. I heard that I applied for a tour, and it was fun and nice. Even though it was a building in use, I felt a lot of attention to the tour. In particular, it was better to connect underground to the Library of Congress, but it was good to reduce the belongings inspection to once, but the weather was very bad. It is recommended to take a look around. The whole tour is an hour? It seems like it takes a while and I can support interpretation with a headset.

We went there on Martin Luther King Day. Not many people were there. You can make reservation online or go early in the morning to get same day pass. According to office website, same day pass is limited so if you do not have reservations, you probably want to get up early. The capitol opens on 8:30 am. The whole visit takes about 1.5 hours. They have free tour guide, I really like this! The inside of the capitol is very beautiful, you won't regret to visit there.

The dome unfortunately was still under renovation so we did not get to see the whole building in it's entirety. The tour within the Capitol was well organised and very informative. It is awe inspiring just to be able to be physically be there in the place which is the seat of decision making of the most powerful and influential country of the world.

This is one of the best tours in DC. Get your tickets from your Congressman before you go though. They also have a cafeteria in the building that you can grab a quick lunch.

The true appeal of Washington D.C. You can be there and live it with the minimum restrictions, which are part of the security. Recommended!!

Its mission is to inform, involve and inspire every visitor to the United States Capitol. The staff goes out of its way to provide an educational environment for visitors to learn about the unique characteristics of the House, the Senate and the legislative process as well as the history and development of the architecture and art of the U.S. Capitol.

We learned about the privileges and responsibilities of citizenship in a representative democracy. We learned about the roles that the House and the Senate play in our daily lives.

We sat in the gallery to witness the start of the day. Very proud to be an American Citizen! Highly recommend!

An impressive, majestic and monumental place. A beauty

It was great to be able to check out our US capital building. From the steps you can turn around and see all the way to the Washington Memorial. Note... where to park is confusing. Most of the nearby spots are reserve and not available.

This is a beautiful building, it s a must see if you find yourself in D.C.
Take your time to admire the surroundings and if you have the time go inside with a guided tour and maybe you re lucky enough to see the Constitution in display.

Capitol visit is a must. Small exhibition. Get a tour early in the am to do other things after. Walk across the street to the Supreme Court. So worth the walk in the muggy heat.
