Just loved the place and it s surrounding, only thing I felt is shortage of parking near this location.
Just loved the place and it s surrounding, only thing I felt is shortage of parking near this location.
Beautiful, the place and the history, there was an orchestra playing, it was amazing.
The capitol has lot to offer. There are speciality tour for house and senate. Also general tour of capitol. Staff are kind and helpful. You got to find your representative for speciality tours.
Beautiful and iconic, just sit nearby and look at it. Its worth it
Standard tour booked thru representative's office. Staff were courteous. Video on America over the top warm & fuzzy propaganda. See column hall under rotunda, rotunda with apotheosis of Washington, and entry area to house chamber. Interesting art and iconography with remarkably boring statues. It is bizarre how the civil war is still by each state choosing statues.
Amazing experience, friendly tour guide. Fun and informative.
The tour was quick to get on since forgot to pre get tickets but the tour felt rushed. I wanted more time to look at the statues and paintings but just rushed in to the next room. Seeing the Senate that was in session was awesome!
Historical, educational, entertained by our Representative's aide, well worth the time.
Absolut interessant. Ein muss und gratis auch noch.
We went to visit and expected explanations about politics and the workings of the Congress, but they only talked about statues
Limited tour (since September 11th terrorist attack) but something every American should make the time to experience. Educational and insight into our taxes at work. After/before tour, walk to the nearby Library of Congress, which is also a spectacular building to see (for free) and won't take up much time either.
Central Washington location. Absolutely beautiful, both the building and the surrounding park.
With my son and his wife in May close to Memorial Day. there was lots of motorcycles here for the big celebration on Memorial Day. There was a stage set up just behind the capital for the celebration. Lots to see inside many statues in both houses of Congress.
Can't say much gets done in this building, but the visitor center is beautiful and informative.
Impressive building, the concept of the USA and the world and only the contents of the Congress. The whole world is following her. They repair the roof a little and even squirrels walk the park.
I don't know why, but it's one of my favorite monuments, another is the statue of liberty. It looks so brutal but. I have NOT entered
I was really nice in there but a lot of nude photos
I booked a tour online several days before going there and It showed my reservation was completed at the time. However, they didn't email me to confirm my reservation and on the day, I found out I wasn't able to make a reservation and I ended up getting in line to get a ticket.Such an annoying experience...
In summer you have to reserve for this "attraction", but that's pretty easy and straightforward via the internet. Allthough this is a working parliament, they also get thousands of visitors each day, that are 'processed' very efficiently through the building. Excellent tourguide and explanations. Do also visit the senate if they are in session, nice insight in the workings of American politics, if not fun to see the senators undercooled voting.
World Heritage of humanity, model par excellence of architecture.
Recommend everyone to follow and protect this book.
An absolutely must SEE for all US citizens!! Is an absolutely amazing place. The history alone is worth it. Rich in stature with plenty of paintings and sculptures. The beauty of it all is breathtaking. Being able to see the both the House and Senate debate while seating in the gallery is amazing and very awe inspiring. Security is tight so don t bring a lot with you. Well worth the time and wait!!
Can highly recommend the tour. At first you get a short introduction movie about U.S. democracy and the building. Afterwards you get a 40 minutes tour with a guide and interesting stories.
Very nice visit to make both outside and inside. Everything is open and the view is plunging down on the Lincoln memorial
Visited the US Capitol for the first time while in Washington DC on business. I was able to coordinate a tour with a staffer and it was well worth it. He was extremely knowledgeable about everything in the building and provided small tidbits of information that made it even more interesting. I would highly recommend taking the tour if you are visiting the Washington DC area.
Everything is wonderful about the White House if there were no Republicans.
Its on a walking distance from central bus station and one can have walking tour of the Capitol and near by attractions. Nice view from bus station as well as from front and back side of the building. Since there are many attractions near by so you may not cover all areas. Better spend 2 days to fully explore the area around.
There were some construction going on, but it is still a cool building.
it is what it is, a very iconic building everyone around the world knows. Definitely worth a visit. get yourself a guide, because these places need to be explained to understand the history of America.
Guided tours only. The interior is magnificent and beautifully decorated. There are two representative humanities in each state, and the statues are engraved so you can visit them interestingly.
Strictly speaking, Trump cannot represent all the United States, it should be said that he represents the current phenomenon. The nation-building spirit of the United States, based on his Declaration of Independence and the United States Constitution, has become his powerful national shield in national defense, science and technology, education, law, and the economy. If you want to learn more about this country, you may want to read United States".
Nice free guide. Easy to understand. Booking should be done on time.
The place is worth visiting at least once in a lifetime
Our tour guide David Linn was great! He was informative and knowledgeable, very interactive along with sense of humor. You get your money s worth and excellent way to see so many statues. It was an amazing day.
Worth a visit and highly recommended.
What a great place. Interesting to see the center of government
Wonderful architecture and the tour in the visitor center is informative and revommended. Check out the Library of Congress as well.
Outstanding to see U.S. Capitol and stand at the Mall and see both Lincoln Memorial and U.S. Capitol. Very surprised to see the hallway full of pizza boxes, empty beer bottles, wine and glasses next to their doors like a hotel and dorm room. So funny these Congress people like to party and live it up!
Beauty of heaven. I love it soo much. I enjoy this place.
Beautiful capitol, I just saw it from outside and it is huge and so perfectly constructed, I hope in the future can go inside I bet is mind blowing
You can make a reservation for a free tour course on the homepage. It took about 1.5 hours, although it took about 1 hour.
It is architecture more than 100 years ago, but Doris, Ionia, Corinth column column orders were seen, it was a fancy elaborate design.
Had a great tour and no waiting time at all.Extra exhibits and tons of statues and paintings...funny to see a statue of the inventor of AC there! There is a tunnel directly to the Library of Congress!
If you want to vistit it as a tourist you'd better make a reservation, though entrance is free.
Attended a public rally at the Capitol Hill. Huge crowd, more than 10,000 of people calling for freedom. Listened to speeches by many Congressmen and others. Important messages for the humanity and the world. "Communism's ultimate goal: Destruction of human race." "The evil specter of Communism is ruling our world." "The only hope for humanity is to return to tradition."
This is my home town love it. But doing my last visit to the city. The street and driving was very bad
It's was a cool is the best and l get a PIC of a guy for me and l tell him l am from Chicago he said cool #fun l am going to DC again with my mom and dad
A great place to visit but avoid national holidays its way too crowded no parking and difficult with kids
Visited 2-3 times.. Recommend to visit on Sunday as street parking is free, parking can be an issue otherwise. The Christmas tree is really beautiful placed during the Christmas season
Ye ole Capitol building -- home of the house and senate. Get your access from your local rep or senator office (located just south). The tour is free and the architecture is amazing.
Good, but for some reason there were a bunch of elephants and donkeys running around. Clean this place up.
A must see tour when you are in town! So much history and great knowledgeable tour staff!!
Enjoyed the opportunity to tour the capital and see how elected citizens serve our country. Place has a lot of influence.
A very interesting place for what it represents and has no cost.
Even if you don't make a reservation, you're coming in soon.
The tour through the Capitol is very interesting. Try to come early to get tickets faster and of course not wait as long for the tour.
Its only a 45 minute 3 room tour with guide and headphone system, so you can hear them over the noise of visitors. Extremely well organised and executed. Buy they have done it a time or two. A must in DC so next time you see Capitol building or hill on TV you can say....been there.
A must visit if you are in the DC area and walking through the mall.
That's the most monumental building in Washington DC. You can feel political atmosphere around it everywhere. What's interesting I was impressed with the Capitol than the White House.
Beautiful building. I would rate higher if this place housed less self serving idiots who serve their interests before those of the common man
A must visit place to learn about History and Governance of United States
The tour is fairly short and does not show you the more interesting parts of the Capitol (likely for security reasons). It is free, so it is worth it, but not the most interesting place to visit in Washington, DC.
An amazing architectural structure with many open spaces inside and outside the premises. Beautiful stairways and guides help navigate the facility. There is even a place where you can eavesdrop on people in the lower floors, but I won't reveal it. This building has a lot of history inside, so it's a great stop on a visit of Washington, D.C.
So much to see inside! The structure itself is beautifully designed. It used to be just the center section and then later on they extended the capitol on both side.
The tour is very worth seeing. Learn a lot about U.S. history from the tour guide.
A place you should visit once. The tour is very different depending on the guide.
Very interesting excursions, it is better to come in the morning, the number of places is limited.
a very good experience. A great place to teach children about our history. Texas Capitol Building is slightly bigger. FYI
