Beautiful architecture & a shrine to democracy. I overall loved it, but I didn't like that tours are required.

This is impressive Weisshaus, all that makes America. I love it. Because I have my relationship. Good luck .
Had an amazing tour of the capital. We did not book tickets in advance, so we had to go thru the process and wait for an open spot. Location is highly secure and go through the process just as if you are going to the airport. The tour was informative and fast paced, but allowed you time to get pictures in all locations. There is a gift shop and food options in the waiting area.
Though the Capitol is currently under construction work and has scaffolding up around it, it is still a good place to stop to take a couple of photos.
Great place, very peaceful the views are amazing and great staff,
Management has been extremely underwhelming lately. As a Canadian, it's been disheartening to watch our friendly neighbours & trading partners become hostile towards us as of late. I will definitely change my review once this establishment is under new management.
Definitely a must see ! I didn t make it inside, but to walk around the outside & being within arms reach was breathtaking! I love DC.
Visited the widely recognized icon in the morning of a weekday to avoid crowd. And it was exactly what we had thought. The place was Less crowded. Got a chance to see the recognized icon, with magnificent dumb and architecturally impressive structures, that doi during pandemic. Thanks to our luck!
Must visit in Washington DC. His Holiness Mirza Masroor Ahmad, The Fifth and current Head of Worldwide Ahmadiyya Muslim Community delivered an historical address in this very Building entitled "The path to peace, Just relation between nations".
Interesting tour. Usually fully. Need reservation. No charge.
There are free tours that are really worthwhile. A very impressive building. It is definitely worth it.
Probably the most gorgeous building in DC. Absolutely stunning architecture with an incredible history to accompany it. The building in enormous, and understanding its history of how it progressed is extremely impressive. The inside is equally as beautiful as the outside architecture, and a must see. The visitor center is pretty awesome and worthwhile it s extremely informative.
I loved visiting this building. There is so much to see and it's a huge piece of American history.
A little yellow. Yesterday they had the navy band play for a couple of hours. Nice fountains. Nice rain trees. Theres some gardenia that arent in bloom. One of the drinking fountains didnt work outside. The ambulance showed up. A lot of k9 units. Looks like the gaurds stare at people all day. Some of the reporters seemed disgruntled.
Mr. Christian was our guide on this chilly DC Saturday afternoon. A very professional, well spoken, knowledgeable and all around pleasant individual who has obvious pride, passion and enthusiasm for his work. We learned so much. Your humor, attention to detail and informative answers to our questions are worth mention here. We thank you for a wonderful experience.
I took my family here for the first time and was so excited to finally get to see it. What ticked me off the most is that AMERICANS have to go through writing their congressman and plan way ahead of time just to get tickets to the House of Rep and Senate. Yet TOURING INTERNATIONALS just walk up to the desk, show their passports and get 6 of them for their family immediately while an America family of 4 was told they could not go in and needed to write their congressman. What the heck!! WHOSE country is this anyway??? It's OUR tax dollars, OUR capitol and OUR country. It means more to an American to go inside their Capitol than it does to tourists. Something is VERY wrong here. It's true, the capitol has very stiff security, has ugly scaffolding around it (not good for pics this summer) and you have to throw all food and drinks away at the guard's checkpoint. Also, every guard, food service worker and tourist center worker we encountered for the entire week at the Captiol and around town were really rude African Americans that acted like they could care less about their jobs and had zero customer service skills.. No, I'm not racists and am in a bi-racial marriage. It was just way TOO obvious while in DC that they are being catered to with jobs with low expectations of their serivce. Such bad attitudes from them if you ask the slightest question, no smiles, no eye contact, no "thank you" nor "you're welcome".... not even a grunt. The capitol is awesome and my teens totally loved it, but dealing with who they've hired at the Capitol and the many other visitor centers around DC is not!
5 stars here is the quote benie the country of dollars, the country which God put these feet for the second time what architecture
It's not much of a tour since you're taken to only two places in the Capitol building. Definitely not worth a wait.
I had loads of opportunities to tour the Capitol Building. But I would visit at lease dozen times in one week. US Capitol Police are rude unless you know someone and have huge chips on shoulder! Some are former military and some are Son and Nephews who couldn't get hired to DC Metropolitan Police! The Capitol and surrounding buildings are old and look it. It's nice at night all buildings are lit by huge white lights. You can take all the photos you want on outside need permission or press to shoot inside.
I could only see it from the outside, but it is an impressive structure and a must-see icon if you are in Washington.
Great place to visit and get a free history lesson.
In regards with the jobo artificial Insemination prenatal debate , on the selection of individual , the rotational room hasn't concluded on wrather the bare skin date should progress in timely fashion.
This place is huge, with amazing beautiful art. This is also we're almost all of American Politics happen. Great place to visit.
Open space with great views in and around the capitol. But the line to the visitors center was brutal.
A wonderful opportunity to see our country's history as told through the eyes of our government. The tour is comprehensive and interesting. Our tour guide is knowledgeable and friendly. More than likely you will bump into an Elective or two. The fresco's and murals tell the American tale. Marble or bronze statuary decorate room after room. Both liberal and conservative ideology are displayed in the selection of art and in the large screen movie. The museum showing Congressional history is most informative and well presented. There are two gift shops, one for the Senate side and an exact duplicate on the House side. Mostly wheelchair accessible including bathrooms. Lots of walking.
Impressive building , worth definitely pay a visit there if you visit Washington! Book a free tour in advance for the Senate House and the House of Representatives!
It's a neat experience to visit such a historic building. If you can catch one of the tours, it's worth the time!
Nice place at night from outside look. The parking is at Pennsylvania st, in front of Capitol.
Toured the whole National Mall on my trip to DC a few months back, and this was my favorite building. Beautiful architecture and interesting history.
Our group went in to watch the voting on a nomination acceptation by the Senate. It was a worthwhile experience. Note that they do not allow in any food or water and all items (except your purse) must be checked in before being allowed into the viewing gallery.
Three cheers for U.S.A white house U.S.A 1st top nation of the world.! From you're friend Nathan Williams.!
The Capitol provides free tours to the public and is a great way to learn about the history of Austin. The Capitol building is a fantastic building to see. It's larger than the United State Capitol building because everything is bigger in Texas!
The best place to pray for the President and his elected officials.
The Capitol of the United States is the place where elected representatives meet. The building has a very elegant architecture and you can visit for it would have to request advance entry online. You have to go to the visitor reception center and there join a group in the visit. The visits are in English and I teach several rooms of the building. The visit is free.
As you stand there looking up at the U.S. Capitol dome you feel the history and power this structure holds. It can be hard to find parking, but I used one of the parking spots apps to find nearby structures. The US Capitol building is huge, and it s surrounded by a grassy area where you can sit down and view it in a distance. The place is clean, and you can enter the building at the bottom of the stairs facing the Library of Congress. You need to pass by metal detectors, and you can sign up for a quick tour if you re not scheduled to take one.
Very educational and enjoyable. Recommend contacting your Senator or Representative to see about a guided tour. Well worth the time. Did you know that for a fee, you can request a flag that s has been flown over the US Capital building? Comes with a certificate of authenticity from the Architect of the Capital s office. Check your Senator s or Representative s web site for details. Very cool gift idea.
I had initially only planned on spending one day touring the Capitol through my state Senator s office. However, after I was given gallery passes to the Senate and House chambers by my Senator s office, I spent approximately 5 hours between two days in the chambers as well as many hours looking at the statues and such in the Capitol. There is an underground tunnel to the Library of Congress, so going there for a tour is easy too. I highly recommend visiting the Capitol.
This building is under siege by POS career politicians that circumvent the US CONSTITUTION and they are criminals and need to be removed from office.
This tour was fascinating. The architecture was absolutely incredible, the tour was free, and it was very in-depth. They started out with an informational presentation, which sparked my interest even more, and then we went to an upper level. At the upper level, they gave us headsets so we could hear our tour guide through her microphone, and then we walked throughout the building. There was lots of interesting history about the Capitol's architecture, there was history on the Supreme Court, and there was history about Capitol affairs. There are a myriad of statues throughout the building, and you get to find the history about that, too. And though not all of it was allowed to be photographed, most of it was and they specifically encouraged pictures.
Just a great place to learn about the political and social history of our country. Some places are not open to public. Line to see hor gallery way too long.
Our tour guide Janet was fun & personable and made the day!
Don t miss the cafeteria- cheapest best lunch in DC!!
It was so awesome and so historical. I would defiantly recommend everyone to go there. There is so much stuff in it and it us so huge. This place is awesome! Such an amazing building. This represents the free world under the democratic regime. It is a Great place to visit especially with your kids. You may be in for a treat to meet the many lawmakers of America . There is no question about this grand building - it represents the United States well !
Loved every little bit of it. Our tour guide was the best, and the sheer amount of things they had was amazing. The only tiny issue I have is the second security check to get into the Senate and House galleries and the fact that you can't take photos in the galleries.
Nice Capitol & Me & My Cousins Been There & Taking Selfies
Just awesome. No line outside in the cold, easy to get in, awesome tour, and most of all food inside.
Just visit it from the outside, but it's very nice, a lot of security, and excellent to take good photos, it's a place that is mandatory to go if you go to Washington
I went first in the morning, but already in line. But it wasn't so big as it was winter, so it was at 8:15, but it was included in the tour first group!
I think it's more efficient to say before the Library of Congress. By the way, the entrance has rows on the left and right, so it should be shorter.
A tour was wonderful on the other hand it's missing a lot of a African American history on building America the Monument of Dr. Martin Luther King was the smallest out of all the other monuments so was Rosa Parks. Harret Tub man and others along with the Civil War right underneath the Dome was missing on the other hand everything else went well.
May Holy Christ the Lord Jesus in heaven Bless all of America.
