As you stand there looking up at the U.S. Capitol dome you feel the history and power this structure holds. It can be hard to find parking, but I used one of the parking spots apps to find nearby structures. The US Capitol building is huge, and it s surrounded by a grassy area where you can sit down and view it in a distance. The place is clean, and you can enter the building at the bottom of the stairs facing the Library of Congress. You need to pass by metal detectors, and you can sign up for a quick tour if you re not scheduled to take one.
