Having only read about the UN HQ in books it was an opportunity to be there twice in the span of 1 month. A maze of a building requiring frequent check in with the floor plans. Beautiful views of the East River especially from the East Lounge. Definitely check out this global policy making space..... visitors are allowed with a pass and it's not difficult to get one - check out the visitor centre across from the HQ building.

The tour of the UN headquarters was an excellent experience (but you need to book it ahead of time and arrive early). This tour is something I will always remember and it was the highlight of my trip to NYC. The guides are understandably strict, but they are also friendly and knowledgeable. If you are interested in diplomacy, international politics, modern history, art from around the world, and lofty ideals about working together to make the world a better place, you will find the tour of the UN headquarters to be both fascinating and inspiring.

I loved the tranquility of its campus, plus the design of the building. Further, it will give you a sense of excitement when you see the halls from which very important decisions are made.

This was my first time in the UN, I went for the CSW63 Sessions. It was quite an experience after entering the building one of the first things you see is a statue of Nelson Mandela with his hands raised. The experience was more than I expected.

Touring the UN Headquarters is cheap, but it's a really pleasant surprise! New Yorkers seem to forget that this amazing location is right in their backyard. Guides at the UN are professional to a fault and there's lots of goodies at the end! Why wouldn't you pay the small fee to get a window into geopolitical diplomacy and a landmark achievement in architecture? The central skyscraper (the Secretariat Building, designed by Oscar Niemeyer), for instance, has a beautiful blue sheen and was the first glass curtain wall in the city. Prestigious names like Le Corbusier and Wallace Harrison also contributed to the design. The tour is the only way to see the interior, which transports you back to a time of optimism with its sleek, futuristic luxury. The tour focuses on what happens in the UN, what they're working on, etc., and it is extremely well structured. It takes you through a lovely vision of hope, peace, and prosperity for the world.

I got emotional when I entered the building for the first time. I went to NYC for a model UN and I absolutely had a wonderful experience. Entrance procedures took a long time but it was obviously for a good cause: security was strict. I felt safe.

We rediscover the different board rooms described in the history books! I advise a guide to be able to enter these rooms and to make a visit at a low hour (between noon and 2) just to not see the room only from a screen outside

Pretty cool experience here. I am also a fan of the UN postal service as I collect stamps, and you can purchase first day covers, mint sheets, post a card to yourself using the UN stamps. You just can't purchase used stamps as they don't have they here due to scarcity of the stamps. You learn a lot from visiting this HQ, and purchased a lot of souvenirs.

Excellent and unmissable visit that you must do if you come to NY. They offer it in the different official languages of the UN and it lasts about an hour.
It gives you a general overview of the facilities, functions and way of working of the United Nations.
If you have a day when there are no meetings, meetings, etc., it is better since you can enter the facilities that for security reasons when any of these events are closed.
Tickets are purchased directly through the United Nations website since the stock you have for sales in the visitor center itself is low

I was working in tge UN Secretariat for 3 years. The most exciting work experience I have ever had due to tge quality of work and to the high level of colleagues. But also visiting the UNSC room and the bookshop along with the small museum was an experience to recommend. Highly recommended a visit.

I look at the UN HQ as the place where the whole world meets in a political sense. We couldn't really see it in all its glory when my wife and I were there all the flags had been taken off to herald in a new session. Still worth the visit.

Good tour, tour guides English was on point very easy to understand what she was saying. Pricing was really good compared to some of the other attractions in NYC. Tour only went to a small number of places, security counsel chambers, and general Assembly area. Along with lots of works of art. After your you are only allowed to explore a small area right outside of the main tour building. UN should have an option for extended tours and exploring alot more area on the outside of the complex. If they offered this slot of people would probably not mind the additional security screening, I know I would not.
