A genuine must-see when visiting New York. Make sure to first go across the road to the Visitors Centre with a passport or similar ID to gain a visitors pass. The area available to visitors offers many displays of interest to anyone interested in the UN's work, and there is an extensive gift shop on the lower floor of the main building.

This is a must go point if you come to New York. Better to prepare to pass the scanner just like at the airport

My favorite visit on my way through NY. Many things are learned that are not taught in schools and should be basic. Very friendly and cordial guides. Imposing building with a lot of historical load.

Where grassroots meets riceroots meets powerroots! Great nations, people and peace- building.

This is one of the coolest places to visit in NYC. There's a lot of history here and you can see where global policy is made.

A place where People come together to for the sole purpose of helping others is a gem and a half

Very interesting place. The tour is very basic, do not expect too much. It serves to learn what purpose and how the UN works.

It's very good to see all nations can see together, discuss and find solution for humanity problems

Not much to see from the outside, some nice sculptures on the Northside of facility. They are viewable from the gates.

Just took a walk around the area on the East NY side from 47th down to 43rd. Beautiful yet simple and tall structure, usually spooting tourists nearby, and good security around.

Did the tour on a school trip. It was amazing and a fun experience

Entrance to the UN must be cleared by security across the street from the plaza before going through security screening (metal detectors). Confusing and time consuming. After all that was disappointed to learn that access to the general assembly building were by guided tour only, and that tours for the day were all booked. Make sure you do some homework before visiting (wish i did).

Security check is miserable, an agent asked me to do something I did not get due to his accent, his attitude was terrible. Then his boss asked him "what is your question?!" He replied, "nothing!" and let me pass. The boss shouted at him, " your attitude is very bad. we are here to help people!" Hope less people suffer from this agent and more agents behave like the manager.

I do not understand how photographers and videographers are not allowed to document the events without a media pass. To me, an organization that stands for world peace would be open to photography and videography. I was shut down from shooting inside the ecosoc room due to regulations. I also saw a group get yelled at in the courtyard for taking a photo with a banner. My group was also not allowed to bring flags or sashes. I simply can t understand it.

If you re doing an event here, make sure you know well in advance all the little, illogical rules that will upset you during your peaceful event.

Learnt a lot here. The only thing I didn't like is they have only one restaurant in the building and it is very pricey and not up to quality.

It is very worth doing the guided tour. It would be perfect if they also offered it in Spanish with some frequency ... they should offer some to but they are very few and it is difficult to match.

I went through an absurd magazine to enter and get there, for free only access to the terrace and a basement that has nothing. If you want to explore the area you have to pay a guide and only then you will have access to everything. Would not go back.

It is a fascinating experience to know the meeting place of most countries in the world!

once you come here you'll realise how small and insignificant your country really is.. unless you're american.

The Chinese explanation group is not bad. Several major halls have been visited and there are gains.

I really enjoyed the visit. It was great opportunity to see and hear about the great work done by this institution and to to be inspired.

I do not have many elements because I only visited it from outside. The impressive palace certainly deserves at least a look and some photos.

Interesting! You can enter free to visit the hall, if you want to see the conference rooms you have to pay for 45 min tour!in my opinion the tour is worth it!

In 1990 we received a tour inside that was very biased and very obvious about everything the UN building has offer. The tour discussion took place in those box buildings on the sides of the building we all look forward to seeing and many of us asked to see it's interior he told it was nothing but conference rooms for international meetings. I suggest you take a picture of yourself with the curved building in the background that was seen on all the 1950's monster movies.

I recommend everyone to visit this place. It's quite a remarkable organization.
