The English-language guide is very professional and interactive, and you must listen to it!
Before entering the venue, go through the formalities at the service counter directly opposite.
Taiwanese can only use other country ID or Taiwan compatriot ID to enter the venue, which is outrageous (bad review)

Very knowledgeable tour guide. Felt a little disorganised in places due to groups bumping into each other. Overall great to see the rooms and hear about the history and future of the organisation.

Make sure you get there early for the security check in which is across the street from the main building.

Very interesting place to visit whether you are visiting from abroad or within US. Like other attractions in NYC this place also has a TSA-like security screening process, except this place took a bit longer because you need to check in first at a designated location (which is NOT at the visitor center in Google map) so do a bit of research beforehand. Also make sure to book a tour ticket in advance if you want to see the actual general assembly conference rooms.

This is an easy and relatively quick tour. We saw all the major chambers within one hour. Our tour guide was great and informative. She was willing to answer any questions the group had. When you get to the UN, tickets to get in the building are across the street.

United Nations Organization - United Nations Headquarters. The visit of the United Nations Headquarters (you need to get visitors passes and be identified: take your passport and the procedure can be long) should be an obligation. All the contradictions (and latent potentialities) of this organization are evident. Among the works of art donated by the various countries stands the Peace Park (a gift from Japan) while reflecting the statue of St. Catherine found in Nagasaki after the explosion of the Atomic Bomb.
Inside, there are lounges for commissions, even bars (the best is the Vienna Bar) and various shops. Recommended especially if you are on the second visit to New York and then you have already seen the main attractions of New York.

I have to make a reservation early in the week beforehand to study Korean. At least for 30 minutes, go first and pass passport, stickers and bracelets. You can not go to the passport check because you are across from the United Nations Center. You have to go in, inspect your belongings and get a sticker confirmation. If you're lucky, you can see the meeting. It was a worthwhile trip because I was well explained.

A must to visit in New York. The building like the park are very attractive and can be visited peacefully. On the entrance of the front on the avenue there is a right place facing the building in height where you can take very good pictures of the United Nations building. It is recommended to go before 17 when the flags of the member countries of the organism are raised.

Amazing place to visit, especially if you follow international politics and are interested in humanitarian issues. Great tours of the General Assembly and Security Council rooms available every day.

A landmark in NYC to visit, but DO NOT waste time and money for the guided tour. The tour is poorly organized; you don't see much and all the info the tour guide provides you can search in much more details on Google!

There's daily tours, and you can visit the entrance area with portraits, some memorabilia, ever-changing photo exhibitions and souvenir shops for free. Also, nice views of the river and Long Island City.

The best part of this place was: no lines for tourists. Well managed system for visitors and an amazing place. Must visit place in New York. Take the tour, that's the only way you get inside UN Headquarters feel.

This is not a safe or welcoming place to work for ...

This is not a safe or welcoming place to work for young Women, since this area is on international soil, U.S. laws o not apply, and all the men have diplomatic immunity status . Its like a step back 60 years into MaMen era- Female staffers are routinely harassed by diplomats an their posse, and far worse things are happening behind closed doors and during the evenings at various consulate parties. Senior female officers are not above bartering young staffers a la "cruel intentions" to curry political favors with senior officials. Worst of all, should a young woman report anything, she is promptly out of the job and often sent back to her home country, her career hopes in international relations and diplomacy forever killed and she blacklisted. Awful, not safe place for young women to work. In addition to the insults, the pay for New York is a pittance of peanuts too, making it difficult for young women to survive without pursuing extracurriculat activities. It is a true epidemic. How can UN champion the rights of women around the world, when it cant even pull it togeter to protect and treat the women who work for it properly.

It's amazing when one enters, first you have to ask for an authorization in a building in front of the United Nations and a person becomes a representative of the group and they give you bracelets to enter, it's free, then the routine check-in at the entrance and you're already in , there are souvenir shops, which are a bit expensive, they sell articles of all the member countries of the organization, food, sodas and presents for all tastes, there are tables to eat if you take food, exhibition of works inside and outside is excellent the visit, relaxing.

I had no idea what I missed in previous trips to New York by not going to the UN headquarters. I was absolutely floored at the quality of the tour and how much of the UN we got to see. The tour guides were extremely knowledgeable about the UN, the art, and any other questions we had. There is a lot to see even outside the tour, so arrive a little early or stay a little late. they were able to accommodate our group of 12. We bought tickets early online which made everything very easy.
