I worked in a senior position in this company, I resigned a while ago. Common encouraged practice was to under pay Subcontractors at contract end so the company could try to make a profit on jobs. Fault was always found in 'snagging' even if it wasn't there, Project Managers were told they had to do this. Suppliers were always paid late.... 90 days eom at best, usually longer if they thought they could string it out without losing supply. They couldn't organise the proverbial pee up in a brewery on any job they did. The company's in deep financial trouble. so beware becoming involved in any way with them. They'll crucifiy me over this review but I have to be honest and I have been.

Poor communication, currently refurbishing Iveagh Court in Bracknell, none of the workers speak english, no one answers the phone in their so called site office, waited hours for someone to turn up to inspect my flat, load of cowboys.

Had a bathroom done by these.every aspect of the job was shambolic.no communication with any tradesmen and every job from the ceiling to the floor laying was very poor in finish.bits missed on painting.tiles falling from wall.tiles not centred.lino cut to small and bodged.would definitely not recommend these.

3 weeks and my bathroom still hasn't been complete...

3 weeks and my bathroom still hasn't been completed. Absolute bodge job. Wrong taps fitted so can't even connect a shower! Extractor fan put in wrong place so cant have my new glass shower door put back up. They clearly didn't read notes properly! One side of bathroom door painted but clearly couldn't be botherd to paint the outside. Bad communication. Especially through kim! And manager was meant to come to my property yesterday. Did he turn up? Ofcourse NOT! Was told by kim he probably forgot! Lovely thanks! So unprofessional!

The work that was done was to a good standard but workers did not speak English at all, this made communication impossible and caused some things to be done wrong, punctuality was not there strongest point and again trying to arrange times and dates with non English speaking staff is very off putting.

United Living is one of the worst companies I have every come across,If I could give them -5 stars I would have.
This review concerns my downstairs friend who is almost blind and 73 years old.
We are both Clarion Housing tenants which use to be Russet/Circle.
He was to have his wet room gutted and a new bathroom set fitted.
Not sure why they could not refurbish his wet room instead as he has a problem getting in and out of a bath.
The workmen arrive at 8 am on the first day to start work removed the bathroom door, did not even both to lay sheeting on floor did not even put plastic sheeting over the bathroom door entrance so he had dust all over the place while they removed everything,all the wall tiles radiator and shower unit.
The vibration and noise was horrendous in his flat and mine which is directly above.
On the first Friday they arrived about 11 am and left at round about 1 pm, they left him with dust all over the floor had not even bothered to clean the bath no radiator on the wall but had left the metal brackets on the wall which where very sharp as stated before he is almost blind he had already hit himself on the bathroom door which he could not see properly due to it being put at a angle in the hall way.
They had installed a new extractor fan this sounded like a jet engine and ran all the time the vibration in my flat was all most as bad as in his flat.
I did some research into building regs re fans in bathrooms and yes it is legal to have a fan running 24/7 but also they could have fitted a fan which shut off after 15 mins which would have been far better, my guess is that it was cheaper to buy one which ran 24/7.
I phoned United Living on behalf of my friend to complain about all the problems and they did send someone out, but to be brutal about it they really could not help at all.
The jet engine fan ran for Friday Saturday Sunday that's 3 nights of noise and no sleep even with my bathroom door closed and you could still hear it in the daytime.

If they have put the rubber gasket on the back of the fan this would have cut the noise down to a hum. I then might have not been so grumpy for the rest of the week.
I know that my friend was really upset about all the problems he has had to put up with.

For everybodies information to do a simple job like fitting out a small bathroom should take about 4 to 5 days at maximum. This has taken almost 2 weeks and the mess is totally disgusting that he had to put up with.

I hope that perhaps Clarion Housing gets wind of this review and remove United Living from the Contractor List.
Because if Clarion Housing decided to refurbish my Wet Room and send United Living, The whole of the UK will hear the explosion as I throw that bunch of Cowboys from my flat.
I have tried to also leave a complaint at Clarion Housing but you can only use 260 characters which is totally useless.

Dont even sweep at the end of the day, left screws and live wires out when i have a 3 year old daughter in the house.
I had to walk through wet cement because they left my house unlocked
Materials blocking the stairways
Poor communication.
Useless and i expect better from children with plastic toy tools.
Asked for 2 mins to stop drilling so my daughter could drink her bottle and i was threatened and asked to come outside my home to fight one of the workers.

Inhumane people, cut through asbestos ceiling whilst we are in the property.
Smothered my bedroom and living room with dust.
My daughter has disabilities but they continuously leave rubble and screws on the floor, live wires hanging out the wall.
They need to be shut down urgently.
I asked for them to stop drilling for 2 minuits so my daughter would drink her bottle of milk without being scared, I was asked to come outside my property to fight one of the workers.
Dont worry people, I will make sure they do not continue to treat us like this after what I have experienced from them.

If your looking to work for this company. Seriously consider whether you want to work for a company who treats its staff so badly.
During the covid pandemic United Living let all it s agency staff and staff that were on probation go regardless of there performance. No mention of furlough which wouldn t of cost them anything. Thus putting many families under due stress and worry in a time where looking for another job is near impossible. Completely heartless company. Shame on you United Living

What a bunch of f###### cowboys!! Useless don't have a clue can't do anything properly!! Had new carpet put down few weeks back and they have ruined it!! They leave mess everywhere don't tidy up after them selfs don't have the right tools for the job!! Would NOT recommend to ANYONE!! WOULD STAY CLEAR OF THESE COWBOYS
