Attended a wedding reception there in the main ballroom. It is an excellent setup with a nice lobby area outside the ballroom, plus balcony overlooking a terrace where UW marching band plays before football games. This wedding had 340 guests and it was not crowded at all. A hotel is above the venue and the engineering parking ramp is about 1.5 blocks away.

Although not as cozy since the renovation there's still so much to love about this place. Theater, food, bank, hotel, climbing wall. Sure it's very student centric, but that doesn't keep me from enjoying the fireplace in winter, fish in the patio creek in summer, and running through the halls in my underwear.

A modern student Union with a burger & beer joint, The Sett, with a very large screen for video/sports, and five other food outlets (pizza, sandwiches, Asian), a coffee shop, a convenience store, a movie theater, a bowling alley, a climbing wall, and a computer lab.

Visited during lunch time a couple of times, parking could be an issue. The Lot #80 (at the back) was full frequently. Had to use the structure next to Engineering school.

The food selection is great. For the price range, you do get healthy options. Ginger Root is one of the most popular choices. The location of the building is also a very convenient for students.

Beautiful. Recently renovated. I've been to two weddings here, and it's a great space. Also a good place to study. The foods not quite up to the mark, but it's far above a normal cafeteria and there isn't a great selection of restaurants on this part of campus.

Cool place for meetings, relaxing, a quick bite or cup of coffee. Interesting architecture.

Sound quality in the huge meeting room is poor, difficult to understand what presenters are saying.

Wisconsin is weird. They have all these huge buildings filled with endless different types of things like classes and offices and restaurants and bowling and rock climbing and lounges all in the same building! No need to go outside into the freezing world!

Excellent place to meet up with family and friends or do homework. Computer lab, theater, and ballroom are on the second floor. A large selection of restaurants, Babcock Ice Cream, the Wiscard office, and the UW Credit Union are on the first floor. The lower Sett has bowling, billards, and rock climbing. Great place to relax and study at!

I go here often to study. But I am realizing I need to go elsewhere.. there are not many outlets available for my computer, phone, and other technologies, and it very often busy and noisy. There is plenty of seating and restaurants though. Another perk is they have great battery, phone, media recycling bins and compost deposits!

When i went to the UW Madison the Union South was new. It became my home away from home. I was disappointed when they decided to tear it down and build another. However, this new building makes much better use of the space. We were there for the homecoming game Badger Bash. I highly recommend going here before the game. The band, the cheerleaders, the brats, and the bloody Marys are all fantastic.

It's not Memorial Union, but it's okay. The layout is awkward and weird, and the meeting rooms ar cramped. The sandwich shop is pretty good though, and there's a lot of great beer on tap at the bar.

Lots of alternatives for meals from a coffee shop to a huge sports bar, in a environmentally forward space. Hotel and meeting rooms in upper levels. Bowling alley, pool tables, and a climbing wall in the lower level. The ice cream stand and bank make this a great community center for this end of campus!

I would rate it to be better than Memorial union during the winters. The Rathskeller has good bar food and it is a great place to watch the games. It's especially lit during the Badger games. The gaming center in the basement is definitely a place to check out and the staff is courteous and helping anytime possible.

Good place for a quick grab, place for fun and sports. Pool tables, bowling alley, rock climbing, air hockey, cinemas all under one roof. Bring close to computer sciences and engineering hall makes it the go-to place for students.

Typical greasy bar food. Staff seems to be bored college students. The place it's usually filthy with garbage strewn on the floor. It's sad that they spent this much money on a building too leave it in such a state.
