It's a pretty nice place, I would give it more of 3.5-3.75 just because food is pretty expensive for what it is

Absolutely fantastic set up. Wonderful food court. Much more impressive than the set up I went to school with.

It s truly a community center for people in the area not just students but especially students. I hung out here all the time as a student to study, do homework and catch up with friends. But as a recent grad now, I participate in trivia nights, volunteer at blood drives, and vote at the USouth, too.

The ambience is great. Has a reflection room as well where you can pray, meditate, or just relax.

If you're a student you probably know how great this place is already or will soon find out. The Sett has great food and is a great place to watch a game and grab a beer.

What a beautiful facility and a great time had with my son and my Wifey.

Low cost, wide selection. If you don't want to walk to the food carts on state street this is a great lunch stop.

Its not a terrible facility, however in my opinion the UW needs to focus on architecture, its an eye sore. Plus like most student facilities it's often busy, decent food but nothing special, good place to get information. Personally I'd rather study in one of the libraries or a local coffee shop. Objectively it should get 3 stars, but I look at it a lot more than I use it and thats why its 2/5.

The hours of operation needs to be accurate to reflect the CURRENT day. I hope that s not technologically infeasible given this is 2019! If it s CLOSED all day, as it was on January 4, which is NOT a holiday, the web site should NOT state open 7AM - 1AM. In past years, U.S. was closed 24 hours a day only from Decembe 24 (or 22-23 if they fell on a weekend) through January 1 (or 2-3 if they fell on a weekend). Don t beguile people into thinking they can have lunch there when they can t by posting incorrecet hours online.

I saw Palm here and they are blessed, the crowd was really all ages!

It is a great place to sit comfortably for a little while or the whole day. Includes food, coffee shop, ice cream, little library and plenty of comfortable seating

Have had a lot of fun here, great place to hang out. Also make sure to check out all the cool things it has to offer like the Marquee and the Set. If your family is visiting it's fun to show them around here.

Union South is the hub of campus and community activity. Great food, beer, and ice cream, plus movies and bowling. Good spot for studying and hanging out during the school year.

I went to a banquet. Very good food. Staff was attentive. Atmosphere was great.

I have not experienced the new one as graduated before the new one was built. The old one was a place of memory so I give it four stars due to nostalgia!

Plenty of options here, from a cozy cabin themed commons area, to a sports bar and grill. Also plenty to food varieties to choose from: coffee, ice cream, pizza, burgers, Chinese, and ala carte stores. Lots of sitting room. There is a bowling alley, rock climbing wall, and other games available in the basement. There is a computer lab and theatre on the second floor. Great place to meet and hang out for a while.

Food is good. Meeting spaces are good with modern facilities. Could use more study spaces, but you can honestly study in the bowling alley so that complaint is moot.

The Union South is a great place where students of the area like to convene. Also just a place for people to meet up for some food during the summer. Ginger root is a sleeper for its chicken when compared to QQ's. I hope Ginger root will one day achieve the meme status that QQ'S has. Besides that the Union South has multiple places that serve beer. The climbing wall is dank and the staff are cool people. Overall happy staff employs (especially during the summer). You'll be taken here for SOAR if you are visiting btw.

The old union south was a dingy. The new one is ridiculously nice. 5 stars for major improvement

I miss the old Union South, but the new one is amazing.

Wisconsin Union Hotel is just perfect, the only thing I would improve is changing the plastic curtains in the shower.

UNL football tailgate! Treated well. Selection of drinks was unusual, but food was great!

Wonderful, especially during the warmer months when you can be outside on the patio.

My husband and I had our wedding reception here and absolutely loved every minute of working with Hattie. The day was perfect! And the ride along the way was smooth. Thank you!

State of the art Union with Open Spaces, great eating, interesting architecture. A huge upgrade from the prior Union South.

This building is really a ship. Carrying learners through the sea of knowledge that is UW Madison.

Offering a variety of food options (burgers, sandwiches, pizza, Chinese, coffee and the famous Babcock ice cream) and a small convenience store, Union South is a frequent way point for UW-Madison students. This is also the meeting place for many campus tours, so you'll often see high school students and their families. Most of the amenities are staffed by students. Higher-quality food options can be found elsewhere, but this is a fine quick stop on campus.

Great atmosphere. Spaces to study alone or for groups to spend time together for discussion, recreation, etc. Nice feel, helpful staff, and usually lots of people. A favorite of UW students. Lots of uses. Parking can be difficult.

Amazing place for social gatherings, grabbing a quick bite, or studying. I wish the rock wall was larger, but you can't have everything. :-)

Best Union in the country, with Memorial Union as well. Badgers know how to do it right. Want to go bowling, come on over! Best pre-game football party anywhere, Badger Bash. On Wisconsin!
