It's very good for tourists but I would not go here as my usual tourist attraction, the castle and what's inside there are fascinating and very interesting, the crown jewels are simply stunning. Tourists I think would love this, but for locals I'd only say for you to go once or twice at most as once you've seen everything, I don't see a reason to go back compared to the aquarium and London Dungeon. I am giving it a 4 only because I can't give 3.5.
Not a bad place, fantastic for tourism but not for thrill seakers or anyone into something more interactive or locals.

No enforcement of social distancing, attendants indoors not wearing masks and ushering people together. No temperature checks or anything. No sense that people are being let in in limited numbers or that there's good ventilation. Whole of indoors is a queue with much less than 2m between people. If I had known I wouldn't have gone. Fwiw: went during a rainy workday.

Classic experience at a major historical place. You can easily spend 3 hours here learning about English history. New interactive top floor of the White Tower is particular good for children.

Really a genuinely good history experience. I'd recommend getting there early to avoid the queues and crowds. The Wall Walk in particular was very interesting. And keep an eye out for the resident ravens!

Hadn't been here for decades but it was as good as when I was a kid. Really good guided tour with plenty of time afterwards to look around but queue was way too long for us to fit in seeing the Crown Jewels before they closed which was really disappointing as my companion was over from Australia.

The guided tour by one of the Beefeaters was brilliant. He was so enthusiastic, funny and informative. His subject knowledge was brilliant. My 12 daughter really enjoyed it as she had been learning about Henry the Eighth and his wives at school. Both of my daughters or course loved the Crown Jewels. They had conveyer belts past the jewels, to keep people moving, but you could go back round and watch again. The whole family enjoyed their day out!

The Tower of London is essentially a collection of different exhibitions bundled under one (very expensive, even for London standards) experience. Some parts are definitely more interesting or fleshed-out than others.

Lots of mixed feelings about this. The Tower of London is undeniably the historical seat of power of England and has an absolutely incredible unique history. However the curation at times can feel somewhat tacky or lacking depth, giving a rather superficial treatment of a deeply storied and significant space. This is perhaps because the Tower of London has been treated as a tourist destination for over 200 years.

I'd say this is a must city when in London city, the tower of London is a huge part on the city and country history.
Go there really early or you'll have long lines to buy tickets and enter there.

They have lots of amazing exhibitions, I'd recommend after entering go straight to the jewels exhibition because it's usually very crowded and you'll probably have tk wait on a long line to get there if you don't go early.
Explore the place a lot, it will worth a lot!!

Great way to spend an afternoon. If the queues to buy tickets seem long it is actually cheaper and quicker to buy the tickets online on your phone and then walk to the group ticket booth to collect them! Saved us at least half an hour today and a bit of cash. We really enjoyed the exhibits in the white tower and just walking around the battlements. Prepare for slow moving crowds though but can't be helped! Enjoy

This is a great place to learn about some history of the royalty. The tour guides were all knowledgeable, humourous and friendly. Make sure to follow in group tours and you're in for a good laugh with them / knowledge boost. There are small museums to look at collections of the crowns, guns, armours etc. Go early to have ample time to roam around after the tour. It's great for photo-taking with the ancient towers in the background.

If you are spending even a few days in London this is a must see destination full of unique buildings the amazing crown jewels, and an amazing history. Although you tour the tower grounds on you own, take one the tours given by one the Beefeaters as not only do you get to hear all the history of the tower they are also very entertaining. Try to get to the tower before 10:00 am to avoid the worst of the crowds. Give yourself at least 3 hours to see everything.

I could spend all day here! The Tower of London contains more than a thousand years of history. It's enough interesting stuff to spend an entire day here. They also have wifi in the cafeteria. Take the free guided tour. Spend time walking through the Tower on your own. Take plenty of photos and read lots of things that are on display. Ask the people working there as many questions as you may have. It's a most wonderful place to visit. I will go back on my next visit to London.

Yeoman tour is highly recommended. Made fun jokes that related to the history. Lots to see and a great view of the tower bridge for photos. Get to the jewels early or late so you wait less, then tour the other spaces or join a yeoman tour.

Such an amazing place, so beautiful! Amazing things to do. Interactive for kids and they learn too. There is also a interactive roleplay, with queen Elizabeth the first which you can make choices to decide to story together and become a knight. Fun for kids. The queen for the girls and the admirals for the boys. So worth it.

You could spend hours here, so I highly recommend getting in early. I arrived just before 9AM, when the gates opened, and there was already a small line forming. To avoid the crowds I immediately went straight to the building housing the crown jewels. I got to see everything up close without issue, then I was one of the first people into the White Tower where the armor and weapons are on display. Tons of history to absorb here, it's definitely something you must see if you are on vacation in London. Very helpful and friendly staff, and the gift shops had a good selection of items.

Must-see. Wonderful historic site! A bit expensive to get in, but the Beefeater tours are unforgettable!! Thanks for the great stories. Book (very much) in advance to see the evening ceremony of the Keys.

My knees & legs are shot. The walking around & the spiral staircases were too much for me. Not a place for the gimpy. I saw a lot , it was hard for me. I thought it was worth the effort. Have time go see this. There's the tower bridge, a Destroyer docked near by & the river cruise Thames boats docked right here too.

Must visit inside!! Especially for history lover (Detail history can be found in every single corner!!) I brought the ticket from golden tour and don't forget to ask student ticket which help to to save 30%. The advantage to buy tickets from golden tour is you get a discount and you can skip the long queue to buy ticket(all you need is just go to group ticket and redeem you tickets, student must bring their ID). And also it is a good place to take photo of the tower bridge and shard!! Don't forget to grab along your camera!!

A must see place in London, despite all the crowds how can you miss seeing the crown jewels as well as big armory full of weaponry and war stuff hundreds of years old. Even the chopping block for Catherine is on display. The Yeoman guided tours are super fascinating whether you like history or not :)

It is not that Royal like we have structures in India. Mostly during tour understood execution of many people. Felt very sad after observing lot of gold and Kohinoor. Over 200 years of ruling how much must have been looted.

The Tower of London.. what can i say??? As a proud Englishman, the place means so much to me. History just oozes from this place.. from the stone walls, to the Thames which flows passed. The yeoman of the guard or beefeaters will be your guides around this beautiful place. The Ravens are amazing. This place will drag you back to the middle ages.. its wonderful

The most recognisable bridge in London.

The most recognisable bridge in London.
Symbol of the city. Worth it to pay and go to the top.
Many great places at the both sides. Food, drinks, coffee, relax that's what you can find around.

Instantly became one of my favourite places! Loved the Yeoman/Beefeater tour - and was pleasantly surprised to learn that they are all Soldiers - Commanding Officers no less - with more than 20 years army/airforce/navy experience! Spike - our Yeoman (YA Abbott) - was funny, knowledgeable, engaging and handled some of England's more tragic and bloody history with compassion and respect. The displays are beautiful and being in the vicinity of so much history is overwhelming. The Ann Boleyn tour by the actors are wonderful and loved being part of the "jury"!
Buy your tickets on-line, redeem them at the group tickets office next to the ticket lines. Get there early if you want to beat the big crowds and school tours. Take your time and enjoy!

A terrific spot of history. Much larger and in depth than I had previously imagined. Everyone goes straight for the question for the jewels but there really is so much more to the Tower of London. Spend sometime learning the amazing history of this place.

Fabulous tourist destination steeped in history. It's huge though so allow yourself plenty of time and comfy shoes. There's lots to explore including the menagerie, torture room and of course the crown jewels. Don't forget to say hello to the ravens too. The tour was informative but not ideal for younger kids. However they also do an interactive battle tour taking you round the castle in characters from history - this cover four main attacks on the Tower and how successful they were which was brilliant.

Not overly impressed on my visit, which was a real shame because I was really looking forward to it. The two things that I was impressed with was the white tower, it was really good, and the fusilier museum. As good as these were, it didn't warrant the price to get in. Considering all the national museums are free the TOL doesn't really compare.

Its a nice tourist attraction but personally I think its not worth the price. The ticket office also automatically assumed that we wanted to make a donation and added the price on top of the ticket price. We inquired and the charge was removed.

Great experience and actually worth the entry fee. The guided talk and Yeoman Guard who conducted the ride was entertaining in the extreme. All round excellent day. I'd go back to see more. We haven't yet seen the ceremony of the keys although I've seen some of it years ago on film. It's easy enough to book and is early evening. I'd recommend visitors to try it.
Restaurant was also reasonably priced. I couldn't fault this as a day out and it's good to be proud of our British heritage. The crown jewels clearly the main attraction but the Armoury exhibit, the royal chapel and the royal mint exhibits are also very good. You should go, along with a tour of tower bridge, one of the best tourist experiences in London.

Dixie queen boat down the Thames was great fun. Food was Good, really good tbh. The opening of Tower bridge was special.
The trio band on board weren't very good to the extent that No one got up to dance. However we were more interested in the sights.

Loved it. It's not ideal for an old guy who needs a cane, due to the many stairs. Crown jewels are amazing; DO NOT MISS. Our guided tour was stopped part way through due to a cold downpour, just bad luck. The stories and inside details given out by the Yeoman Warders (Beefeaters) are fascinating. The several shops have some interesting items along with the usual tchotchkes. Being from Baltimore, loved the lore about the Tower's ravens.

Do you like ravens? How about jewels? Minted coins? Torture? Beefeaters and other fancy uniformed British officials? If you said yes to any of these, get thee to the Tower! Cheerio, mate!

Such a great place! You can learn SO MUCH about the English Royal history within these walls while also appreciating all the beauty of the design and marks of different eras.
You can see the Crown Jewels (they are truly dazzling!!), the Line of Kings (all the armour worn by famous kings and royals) and soooo much more!
FUN FACT: the architecture is so varied because every king that resided there in a different era built something characteristic of it!

It took me years to finally get to Tower of London but it was well worth the wait. Make sure you set aside a full day and pick up the audio guide - there's a lot to discover and it's all fascinating. One downside was that I found the Crown Jewels exhibition underwhelming. The Jewels themselves are amazing but there isn't a lot of information to go with them

Go here and plan to spend all day. This is want the castles were really about. Not princesses and fairy tales. It was medieval life was about and you can see and feel some of that time. The Crown Jewels are amazing and you must go to Martin Tower and see the crowns without jewels.

Really not worth it, huuuuuge queues even if you already have tickets
Some exhibitions are veeery small as you make 1:00 queue for 1 room.
Crown jewels? 2hrs queue? Hell no, even more. Go to HMS Belfast accross the bridge, way better experience.

We visited in June and spent hours upon hours exploring and learning about every inch of this place. There is so much amazing history to be seen including original wall carvings from prisoners that were kept here hundreds of years ago. Be prepared to spend your entire day here if you want to see and learn about everything.
