I was glad to come here. My Dr. Was Dr TAnaka and she is very helpful. Very understandable. I recommend her to others. Also the people at the front desk are very patient (I have a studdering problem). They are very nice and they have an attitude as if they love working there, and that's great.

I had a breast biopsy done here with Dr. Mohammad Eghtedari in the beginning of December. While in the waiting room I was shaking because I was so nervous. I did not know what to expect. I read various posts online from other places about how painful biopsys are, long recovery time, etc. Well, I want to let everyone know how nice my biopsy was...how wonderful, caring, gentle, and understanding Dr. Eghtedari was. His assistant nurse was so kind, also. She let me squeeze her hand. I was such a baby. The Dr. gave me a breast injection with the right amount of numbing anesthesia to where I literally felt nothing. No pain at all. I did not feel the incision which I was at first most worried about. I laid flat and he guided me verbally through each step of the biopsy which took less than 10 minutes. Afterwards he cleaned the area, applied antibiotic ointment, a couple of the llittle sutures, covered it with a band-aid and I was done. The next day for about two dayd I had a very small amount of soreness on the incision part and a little itchy as it healed, but thats all!!! The entire process was very easy. You have to prepare yourself mentally because really thats the hardest part...but with kind and caring knowledgeable Dr. such as Dr. Eghtedari and his wonderful assistant, your fears go away as soon as he talks to you. I recommend anyone needing a biopsy to go to him. I felt very safe. Thank you for reading my post.

The reception area people were nice, the doctor polite, the place was clean. BUT, I almost passed out at how tight the cranked machine must be in order to take a good x-ray. On the follow up visit, the machine left one side of chest bright red. The machines are old fashioned and rough!

Does anyone know where patients can share their inputs on clinical trial? I have no evidence to think dr has reported honestly the symptoms? I have a PhD in Eng from UCSD and breaks my heart to say i found a lot better care at UCI and UCLA. At UCSD however twice I had to scream and ask dr to note the medicine is not working. Dr Bazhenova gave immunotherapy to my loved family member which if she had done free molecule profiling g prior, would found out it is not promising for him. Then dr kato started a horrible clinical trial, the patient t had to take one pill on empty stomach every morning and another an hour after or so. He let the patient suffer Extreme diarrhea and stomach pain from april to August, saying oh it is either diarrhea or cancer, guess what, it is neither?! Or both! His nurse told patient to take codeine cough syrup whenever with no limit. When they finally had to stop dragging payments for 3 extra months from june to August, dr kato said do hospice or anderson clinic. I wish he had referred us to anderson prior to him not after the damage he did. U stop diarrhea for a health person after 2_3 days w adding fluid, no e was done for him and they just let him get weaker, do u need any degree to realize u loose all nutrition and strength and you cannot fight cancer or anythig after diarrhea, extreme from April thru august!!xx

Absolutely ridiculous wait time and utter incompetence. Unbelievable.
Had to wait almost two hours for a shot which they spent the entire time tutting over because they were "confused" by an out of date prescription that was a higher dose.
Instead of trusting ME about my OWN MEDICATION and giving me the proper lower dose they wasted my time by attempting to call an endo clinic that didnt answer. They could have TRUSTED THE PATIENT and given the proper shot that was PRESCRIBED THIS MONTH unlike the old shot FROM A YEAR AGO but no.
Absolutely childish and disorganized. If you can, get your shots and infusion done literally anywhere else.
Absolutely wish you could give less than one star.

The nurses here are top notch and genuinely care for their patients well being. I have been going here for treatments for the past 3 years and every time the quality of service provided is above and beyond. The building also has many small "healing gardens" around it so the patients can relax in a calm and serene environment.

I worked in the Oncology Authorizations and Billing Dept for one month. My trainer had the audacity to ask me to bring her prescription medications from TJ! I was shocked! Needless to say I definitely do not want to be working with people that are working while impaired.

The way they treat their patients is just awful. If you need any kind of help with anything they make it so difficult and there are so many hoops to jump through in order to get anything done. Customer service is also terrible, I know it is a medical center but there has to be some semblance of care for patients. After I scheduled an appointment with Dr. Saenz and had all of my medical records sent over to her, they change my appointment without even asking me. With no regard to me changing my schedule around for them, a few hours before my appointment, they just cancel it saying that the Doctor refuses to see me. This facility puts all of its money into looking good and proclaiming they have the best of care, when you actually try to work with them, it is a completely different story. I am sure some people have good experiences there, but unfortunately I was not one of those lucky people.

My mom has seen dr yashar and I must say to all with cancer concerns to avoid this dr at all cost!! She does not listen to her patients concerns and is too proud to go the safe route of checking to see if your cancer has spread. This could cost you precious time and your life. My mom had breast cancer removed which they said their imaging showed was not invasive. When the cancer was removed they discovered it was invasive but they did not take any lymph nodes. My mom could not start radiation treatment because she developed an infection from the tag they put in her. 6 months later they are pushing radiation but she's showing signs her cancer has spread or has a second primary cancer but they refuse to give her a pet scan! Though shes requested many times! They act as if it's coming out of there pocket. They don't listen to your concerns and they don't care about your symptoms. They are one tract minded on how they treat each paitent and what they recommend. Customer care is zero!!! And will leave you in tears! I hope this information will help you in your search for good medical care.

These people are amazing!! They make me feel confident that they will help me get better! They treat me with the utmost respect and they are kind and caring!! I am in the infusion center every three weeks and even though the nurses and PA's are there every day, they don't assume I know everything or anything for that matter. They take the time to make me comfortable, physically and mentally!! They make sure that whoever is with me is taken care of as well! They understand that having cancer is scary and stressful, they work incredibly hard and seem to enjoy what they do. There is even a masseuse who gives foot massages to patients while receiving their chemo infusions!! I can't say enough good things about this amazing place!! All I can say is Thank you!!

I am a UCSD patient and have numerous procedures at the Moores Cancer Center, where the pain clinic's procedures are performed. The doctors and staff I have encountered are all friendly and dedicated to serving my needs, and those of the other patients. Their service is as good as it gets.

Horrible service from most working at any kind of desk(reception appontment-setters). Typical wait for dr Fanta is 2 hrs. I've never been to a medical center where the doctors are more polite than the staff.
Update: receptionist at onacoligy spiked my 65 yr old mothers blood pressure to 190. Still think they are the best?

UCSD at first can be daunting to get around because it is so expansive. However the facility has relatively good signage and is reasonably easy to find your way around after some familiarization. An exceptional number of the staff are willing to help with directions and locations.

Medical staff is well trained for the most part. Some individuals are outstanding and exemplary. I have had good service and support especially in the Radiation Oncology department. The entire staff are outstanding!

Don t give up!!!!

Don t give up!!!!
After spending twelve months of immunotherapy at Scripps and failed, we crawled into Moores. Result: We survived. We know many who didn t as we sat in the Infusion Center weekly for months. Everyone who walks in is afraid. Life, quality of life are in jeopardy. And now in our darkest moment, we also had to trust. We had to put my husband s life in the hands of strangers. Stage 4 Bladder cancer finding its way into the lymph nodes and prostrate meant chances of overcoming and surviving were 5%. They knew we were scared and from the moment we walked in, that fear was faced together with a team.
Dr. McKay our urologist oncologist and Her support team lead by Arjana, held our hands while they and ourselves fought like hell. They NEVER gave up. Every phone call, every extra appointment, every email, every result, was always available to us. all was transparent.
Dr. Kader, our surgeon, is exactly the surgeon you need. One year later and he still follows up with us. Making sure the ostomy bag and stoma have healed beautifully.
One more thing, Moores Pharmacy on site is fantastic. They make it happen.
Ask questions of everyone. You re NOT alone!!
Ask for financial help.
Use all resources available to you.
Co-pay programs online. They help tremendously. It s worth the effort. If you re doing chemo, there will be after effects. You ll need help with those. Ask for HELP! Everywhere!

For The Past Couple Of Years That I Have Been Coming Here, Not Once Have I Been Left In A Room & Forgotten About, Looked & Talked Down To, Skipped Over, Or Rude To Just Because They Might Be Having A Bad Day. The People That Work Here, From The # 1 Person There, To The Nurses, To The Grounds Keepers, They Are The Ones That Make Our Time Here Just That Much Easier & Maybe Even Brighten Our Day Just A Little Bit.
Just Wanted To Say Thank You To Dr. Chen & To His Medical Staff. You Guys Are AWESOME.

You can get chemotherapy Monday through Sunday, and at night until 9 p.m., to avoid traffic on I-5. They send you for CT scans at nearby Thornton hospital, where CT scans are done Monday through Sunday.

Everyone is kind, helpful and understanding. I am a frequent patient at the infusion center, and while they can get pretty busy, they always ask if there's anything I need, from pillows, juice and crackers to making sure my appointments are scheduled. Always concerned for my comfort. Great team. I also had a concern over a billing misunderstanding and they (the woman I called while getting an infusion, I'm so sorry I do not remember her name) bent over backwards to reassure me that it would all be taken care of so that I wouldn't have to worry. She was very concerned for my well being and anxiety. So helpful and understanding of the stress while being sick and having treatment at their facility.

Update to my previous post: This place is a joke, constantly have to wait 30 minutes to 1 hour over your scheduled appointment, but they won't tell you until you go up and ask. The nurses, like 20% care about the patients and try to make things easy as they can however they can, the other 80% are here for the money, they will argue with you when they are wrong, are not good at keeping patients up to date on what's going on even while your being treated and create added stress in an already stressful situation. You have to watch the nurses to make sure their using proper hand hygiene between patients and not missing drugs or steps or breaking HIPPA rules if you care about your personal information. They have a cafe on the second floor you can pay to get food from, not cheap by any means. You have to pay to park here and get treated. The doctors suites and my husband's doctor are great at what they do and are there for but the infusion center absolutely kills it (not in a good way). The convenience of it being down stairs from the doctors office for same day appointments isn't even worth the hassle anymore.

Original: Convenient outpatient center. Close to the hospital so you keep your doctors and close to hotels and food if you need it.

This is only regarding the GI department.

This is only regarding the GI department.

I was referred to a doctor there by my primary doctor. It turned out that that doctor was not a good fit for me. There was nothing wrong with him, but just not my cup of tea in terms of bedside manners. I relayed this to my primary doctor and she told me she can refer me to a different oncologist in that department. All smooth sailing, until I had to interact with the lady helping me schedule the appointment.

She wanted to schedule me for the same doctor. I explained to her my situation. She insisted that I had to get tests done that the previous doctor had ordered before coming in to see any doctor. I told her that the point of me seeing a new doctor is to get a second opinion about all these tests. She then proceeded to belittle me about getting these tests done. She (who I assume does not have a medical license) proceeded to tell me that, "Based on your medical history, you are due for a CT Scan." and when I expressed concerns about the cost and the radiation exposure, she went further and asked me "Your insurance won't pay for this?" in a very belittling tone. The call ended without a follow up appointment and with a great deal of emotional distress.

Bottom line is - if you can get through the hell gates of the scheduling person, the doctors are world class. However, the anxiety and emotional distress to get you there may kill you before the cancer does.
