My daughter goes here to the children's department. The actual children's unit seems to be great but the picu is so crazy with 20 different students working on each patient its kinda ridiculous

This is truly one of the best hospitals in California they save my niece's life she was airlifted from the Central Valley they couldn't find any where to take her she needed emergency care and they accepted her and she's getting excellent care
Friendly and caring staff everywhere. Thank you ICC for taking care of my precious little Bro...
I go here due to epilepsy and I would have chosen any other place to have gone. It's just a very congested city...
UCSF Dental Clinic is awesome. Went when I was in college and had no dental insurance. Now I'm back during this crazy time and am so lucky they are taking patients.
I was a neuro pt. and on 8 Long for about a week. The whole staff was awesome. They took awesome care of me and if I needed an advocate the did not have a problem with being one for me.
Very clean hospital and friendly staffs and doctors. Also a busy campus, hard to find 2 Hours parking spots.
I am alive and able to give UCSF 5 Plus stars for saving my life 13
Years ago, when I suffered a ruptured brain aneurysm. I spent months in the Neuro ICU, in and out of comas, had 3 craniotomiies,
And was in Status Epilepticus for a long time. The outstanding care
I received from every person working at UCSF, from the amazing neurosurgeon, Dr. Michael Lawton, to the loving skilled nurses whose
Devotion and highly skilled and intensive care of my person and my
Perilous hold on life, brought me back to being a happy functional and
Spirited ,productive person. This place rocks!!!!
do not work professionally and kept waiting for a long time, I had a terrible stomach ache and they could not immediately give me a painkiller
Definitely a public University
Bare bone facilities
I am diagnosed with bladder cancer & have had 2 surgeries done at UCSF. I cannot thank my Doctor & the medical staff there for the quality & professional care I received. I am a picky person & there is nothing I can complain about. My physician is Dr. Kristen Greene & she is very knowledgeable & she cares.
The hospital itself was built to help the patients healing process. UCSF is my 5 star choice.
Even the food is good!
Just went there for emergency brain surgery. The doctors and nursing staff were absolutely top notch. The tumor in my head is gone now too. Thanks UCSF medical center.
Because its beginning to open up more to people of color
Awesome campus!! Weekly visits to the transplant clinic and the staff is always courteous and helpful, not to mention the screeners are superb!! Social distancing is heavily enforced which shows they are serious about COVID and protection.
Don't know about the hospital but the dental clinic is awesome. Have visited several times even for complex issues and they are thorough, treat you like a human and not a project, compassionate and extremely knowledgeable. I highly recommend.
I hope and Pray that my message too all brings you first hand experience from U.C.S.F on my behalf .
I must say from my Surgeon Dr. Aaarn Clark whom performed Surgery on my Cervical Spine one week today, along with The entire team and my stay at this AMAZING UNIVERSITY AND ALL PERSONAL FROM START TO FINISH was and is the very BEST to say the least .
If I could give my Surgeon and his Team a Perfect Ten I would hands down .
Thank You Too All Whom Took Part in my Surgery and after Surgery . I will give you all a perfect 10
Happy Holidays Too All ! Your Patient Kim Segmiller xoxoxoxoxoxo
miss my old days there! great staffs, awesome campus!
WOAH WOAH WOAH WOAH WOAH WOAH WOAH WOAH WOAH WOAH WOAH THIS SCHOOL IS SO GOOD ITS AMAZING MY ONLY COMPLAINT IS THAT THERE IS NO CHICKENS WITH GUNS.
Staff didn't have their ducks in a row, lack of communication. Be assertive or they will try to run you over. Facility was clean and well kept. Staff was educated on their jobs and communicated to when asked.
Be weary of getting lost in the hospital as staff don't know anything of other departments or their locations. Keep your eyes on the signs. Security is poor here, keep your belongings close. If you are with a patient or minor be weary of leaving them alone too long as just about anyone can wander around unsupervised.
All in all, I'll give it 3 out of 5 based on the lack of communication, or the fact it seemed no one seemed to know what was going on at some periods.
I am wanting to be a doctor and this is my dream university
Awesome Hospital with outstanding employees.
Thank you ALL for helping me during my life threatening ordeal.
J'mas
It s a mess all day, every day at Parnassus.
Parking shortage, constant rush, complicated layout, no reception desk to help out. Rude personnel is the worst.
I've been to hospitals around the country, this is by far the worst hospital I've been unfortunate enough to stay at. The nurses and security guards were hostile, violent and encouraged patients to injure themselves. I experienced several horrible seizures after which while laying on the ground of the emergency department floor I heard the night nurse laughing saying "hahahah she's having another seizure". No hospital personal checked on my vitals or condition after 3 consecutive seizures. This hospital deserves a 0 out of 5 stars for providing everything in direct contrast to medical assistance.
the best.. the nurses and drs.were professional and kind..we had a great time talking to them as they managed my husbands recovery.loved it there.clean and great food
They really are the best hospital. The staff are caring and listen to everything you have to say.
16 years ago I was there, my older brother died of Leukemia, they were sad days but excellent medical care
I was der in d ER about 4 years ago am a kidney transplant patient...
My family and I have grown in alongside them. I have no complaints...they are the best
They took very good care of me and I loved it there
Its a really good hospital over all, the specialist i saw were also good. yes some of staff are rude criticizing people in their language.
Research hospital. No wonder they can't get well me. I have surgical gloves left in me from a previous surgery and they cancel my appt without telling me and cant heal me. I had to leave to go get well. I do not recommend UCSF to anyone for healing purposes...big DIFFERENCE from Research to healing...
I was thoroughly disgusted to read about their vivisection practices! And here I thought San Francisco was a civilized city!!
The top hospital in the area - and probably top 10 in the nation imo. The entire staff is knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. Just had surgery there and the whole process worked like a well-oiled machine.
Parking garage was a terrifying experience. Level 3 was like a scene from a zombie movie. There was a strong and nauseating smell of human feces as I walked past a fresh car break in. Broken glass everywhere. Very isolated feeling in this place.
The elevator wouldn t open. Had to run up many flights of steep erie steps to get into a lively public open space. Nearly died of fright trying to get out!
Paid $4 for 20 minutes for zero confidence that my car windows wouldn t be broken when I returned.
Other floors in the garage seemed better. Avoid this level.
We are very pleased with the treatment plan and all staff is amazing!
I especially want to say thankyou to all of our nurses, physicians on floor 10. The care & compassion was over and above great care.
There nurse's assistant on floor 10 also were amazing.
Great staff, very intelligent and research based. Have seen numerous Drs and all are soooooo knowledgeable and skilled.
Oh, from N Judah, get off on UCSF and take the elevator up to Parnassus. So easy!!!!
My dad had a stroke while at the grocery store about 80 miles away and was airlifted to UCSF because this was the closest place that was able to do a procedure to pull a blood clot out of his brain. Had it not been for UCSF and modern technology, my dad would not be with us today. I thank the top notch staff for saving my dad's life! He is recovering but they truly did their best and I can honestly say there's no where else I would have wanted him to be through this experience.
Only con was the parking. It's unbelievably wrong to charge loved ones $30 a day to park. People are already going through enough & to charge that much to park is insensitive. I was driving back and forth from Modesto for almost 2 weeks, which was a financial burden already. There is no free parking around either. Unless it's Sunday - use the meters. They are free.
The University of California, San Francisco (UCSF, also often translated as the University of California, San Francisco) is a public university located in San Francisco, California. It is one of ten California universities and is famous for medical science and biotechnology. It has four campuses in San Francisco, and another campus is located in Fresno.
Its medical school ranks within five in the United States [5]. Since it is mainly a medical school, most of its students are graduate students or medical students with a bachelor's degree. The University of California, San Francisco has not been included in the ranking of university departments by US News and World Report because UCSF is a graduate-based school.
ER bytes...... kept my 90 year old mom waiting for ever.... complained and they got rude..... this ER is a JOKE STAY FAR AWAY.... drive the extra few miles to a better hospital.......
Best hospital for neurology hands down. This institution has saved my life and so many others. I believe in teaching hospitals because of this place. This and ucla are the only two on the west coast in the top 10.
Saved my life. Doctors are extremely knowledgeable and very kind.
am a student from kenya (africa) and i want to study medicine in university of san francisco do i stand a chance please
This school is my dream school, I am in 6th grade and I looking into colleges and this is the college I am looking into
I'm still in awe at how terrible the communication has been. I feel like I'm dealing with a government agency trying to get an update. Then they have the balls to send me request for a donation. I don't donate to places who are clearly in need of help to fix issues with how the place is ran.
Such a poor response. I have been waiting for Rheumatologist appointment and its been ages they get me one. I haven't seen such unprofessional hospital in my life. Are thy going to get me an appointment after I die. How atrocious behavior of this Rheumatology department. I do not recommend any one to this hospital
The hospital staff is the best at what they do. That's why they are in the top 10 in the country.
Terrible place to have your baby. Doctors are awesome - rooms and 1/2 the nurses are from the 60s. Same with the billing department. Get with the program!
I had a great experience in the Emergency Department this morning. I was anxious because I just moved here from out of town but was sick all night and had to come in. Jason triaged me and he was super friendly and helpful to my husband. Kathleen was nurse and John helped her with my IV and labs. They reassured me and described the process of getting test done and what to expect. They were sweethearts. I saw Dr. Pedrez who listened well, appeared concerned, and had great bedside manner. Marisa did my xray and described the process well, she was in the best mood ever for a Saturday morning at work. Angela did my ultrasound and was so nice to bring me back to the ED instead of having me wait on transport. So even though, it took a while to get all my test done and resulted, I could not complain about the staff nor my overall experience. I would definitely come back. It seemed like a nice clean facility and safe with security at the entrance.
This place was awesome the ppl here are very friendly and care about your well being and make sure that you are comfortable during your stay here
Smart doctors, well run, on time more than other medical centers I've been to.
I had a 3 level ACDF surgery with Dr. Aaron Clark back in February 2018 and I had no complications. Dr. Clark and his entire staff are amazing. Anytime I had a question or concern I emailed them and almost always got a response within 3-5 mins. 5 mins Max .Diego is his assistant and he is always so friendly and is always prompt in getting things done. I highly recommend this Dr. And hospital. If you like this review or found it helpful please give it a thumbs up. Thanks
A view from the 8th floor of UCSF Hospital of San Francisco.
I have had four procedures done at UCSF and I will not go anywhere else ever! Nothing but positive experiences.
It's a shame this facility is in existence. Please consider other hospitals rather than their miserable treatment options. I wish they close their doors soon and not mislead people!
My partner just had a two day spinal fusion surgery last week by Dr. Aaron Clark and was in the hospital for 6 days. Every single staff member from nursing assistant, nurse to physician assistant we're all exceptional. When he was having some concerns Dr Clark came in later that evening and took the time to answer all our questions. He is very compassionate and has a great bedside manner. This hospital goes above and beyond and I would highly recommend it to anybody that is having any type of procedure. Please like if you found this review helpful.
So I made the mistake of going to therapy the week before and after my insurance changed for the new semester, I was technically covered the whole time but they billed the wrong plan and now I owe $1200 apparently. I called THREE TIMES three different people to tell them they made a mistake and how to fix it (which they assured me that they would) but they just sent it to collections anyway and now they won't stop harassing me with phonecalls and bills.
i had a spinal fusion. I couldn't walk now i can a little bit.
GREAT GREAT GREAT seriously they took such good care of is here.
Terribly mistreated my wife during post surgery recovery. The 8th floor icu medical staff were the worst, truly some uncaring and miserable people employed here. The extra star is for the diamonds in the dirt, that tried their best to help.
I had scoliosis and a fractured earlobe but now because of ucsf university i don't have scoliosis or a fractured earlobe.
Very good place you can trust this people I been visiting UCSF 12 years ago and I don't have any complain at all!
I had an accident last week and my jaw came away. fortunately, my operation was performed by Dt. Efe Ba aran. If you need a doctor who about maxillofacial surgery, you must find him. I can t thank him and this hospital enough.
I had both my hips replaced at age 29 and 30. I could not have asked for a better surgeon and staff. I recommend everyone to ucsf.
Very good in keeping safety first
And Everything about UCSF Doctors and staff and employees all Deserve 100 percent
Good Attitudes towards there Clients.
Been here many times in my life. Greatest and latest technology. Doctors, nurses, attendants were all very kind and understanding.
Every time I was in UCSF I NEVER waited very long in Emergency.
Nurse's and Doctor's were never understafed and were kind and considerate.
Great Hospital.
