Place is a liberal hell hole where you can no longer speak freely
This school allows it's students to demonstrate hate based on racial differences, next they will start allowing rape. Not impressed by the way this school is ran.
I visited after the term end. The environment is good. Awaken my heart for studying again.
Really seems like they are preparing young adults for the real world.....
Wouldn t waste my time or money on this joke of a school. Nothing but a bunch of anti American communist and racist that attend here and the faculty is even worse
Sissy ass people, They need a touch of reality maybe marshal law would work for them.
Amazing campus. One of the most prestigious institutions with 81 odd nobel prize winners (wikipedia) - only place I know with NL parking spots (nobel laureates)
There are many large grasses for picnic but the way of slope are not easy to walk to school even ride a bike. (JUN. 23, 16')
Letting students protest and scream anti white vomit all over your campus. They hate racism, but are being racist themselves. This is more double standards by the liberals. These spoiled kids have no clue what they are fighting for.
Worth a visit if you're in the area, and definitely worth studying here too.
The campus itself isn't the most interesting however.
white lives will always matter.
and donald trump is the 45th greatest president ever.
You can have any opinion you want here, as long as it's the same as everyone else.
If you decide to go here, just try not to get hurt during the riots ok?
An unforgettable learning experience! A dream to be projected!
Disappointed with behavior of the students and faculty from a university that is supposed to be enlightening our next generation of leaders and citizens!
I can only imagine if this college continues to regress towards pre-civil rights ideologies, a degree from this college will no longer serve as proof of higher learning.
Awesome school, great faculty located in a dump of a city. IMHO best CS department
Now i understand the standards of this university after Rahul gandhi's speech
Just learned that UC Berkeley is entertaining the segregation and exclusion of white students...
Yet another reason that this "institution of higher learning" should be avoided at all costs
I would give less than one star, but google won't let me, but at least it won't let me because it can't and not because I'm white... 5 Gold Stars to Google, 1 sad pathetic rusty participation star for Berkeley
What is there not to love about Cal? Fond experiences at Memorial Stadium, winning the axe, the country's best engineering program, and the kids love Amoeba records. Go Bears!
Prestigious but in debt. The chancellor was too dumb to run a university of this caliber.
Can't even stop a violent protest... what a sorry excuse to be an institution
Racially divided university. White hating activists. Uneducated liberals. Pansy school board that doesn't know how to control their damn students.
Worst school of higher education you could possibly ever go to. Can't even study due to the fact that you have a bunch of racist protesters screaming day and night. If I could give zero stars I would.
Great school with some amazing people. Being a large public university, the school won't take care of you too much - be warned. But given the right amount of motivation and ambition, a student can excel within and out of the school.
I personally don't seen anything too unique about the campus itself. Not nearly as beautiful or culturally rich as some of the top private institutions.
That the academic side of things is excellent goes without saying. The town it's in is charming and idiosyncratic. SF is a short BART ride away.
This campus is fantastic, It makes me want to go back to school
Left after one semester. If you are white, the other students and faculty will be completely racist towards you.
uc Berkeley is hand down the best uc compared to uc davis were I go to in my opinion. I can honestly say it was a very excellent experience taking one upper division art class with karla Avila one lower division art class with shari paldino and a sociology 167 class with Edwin Lin overall my experience here has been great. I am really excited to take a spring semester and another summer at uc Berkeley as a visitor . The haas business library is the best library to concentrate for me and to get some studying done. Excellent shchool even though I don't attend professors want you to succeed, I am glad my sister goes here
Best public university in the world! Top-tier academics that rivals all the top private schools, and so many resources and networking connections!
This school comforts and protects their hateful and racist students. All while refusing to protect the victims of said hateful and racist students.
Filled with liberals who protest and block major entrances disrupting class schedules. The college was very much inactive in removong the protestestors. Dont waist your money on this college.
Terrible place, terrible politics... why can't college's just stick to education. That's what we pay them for, right?
To those who rated UC Berkeley one star.. Do yourselves a favor, just go back to your shitholes and find something to eat from your trash bins instead of wasting time giving BS comments here. You are just a bunch of LOSERS!
Supporting the whiny babies is what this university is about! Want your kid to grow up?! Don't send them here!
The vast majority of the negative reviews are from those who have not actually experienced life on the campus. Indeed, Berkeley is not a perfect university. Particularly in light of recent events, it is easy to associate Berkeley with anarchy and violence. But a few ugly events cannot be used to generalize the college, especially since the violence that occurred during the riots was not perpetrated by Cal students or faculty. Based on my ACTUAL experience, I find the campus to be extraordinarily diverse and open. The academics here are among the best in the world, and the environment itself was, in my opinion, very appealing. No university is perfect, and Cal is no exception. But by looking beyond the prejudice and misconceptions, one can see that Berkeley truly is a fantastic university filled with brilliant individuals.
Beautiful campus with lots of things to see and do. Be sure to drive up to Berkeley Lab where you will see the best view of the Bay Area.
This one of the best research university in the globe.
They advocate racism against white people. That's as bad as them saying "sure KKK, you can hold a rally here against black people, just don't get violent!" That's what they allowed but vise versa, they allowed students to block entryways for white people and only allow "colored people". Then they decided to bother students who WERE STUDYING with their POINTLESS protest for safe spaces. Really? Colored safe spaces? Don't ever go to Berkeley if you're white or appear Caucasian.
This university is a bastion of intolerance and idiocy. That is all.
Berkeley is a university that pushes out and promotes racism. I do not and will not ever recommend this school to anyone as it's nothing more than a sham subpar school. Recent outbreaks of racism and the inability to stop it's students from harassing other students based on skin color, the promotion, the support of, and the ongoing safe space victimization mentality does not teach students real life experience or valuable knowledge actual to life. Horrible school.
I'm just saying that this place is the best place to set up a future. The people and the atmosphere is just lovable. I wish I could be able to get back there one day!
Berkeley provides one of the broadest and most rigorous college experiences on the planet. Thankful for my undergraduate years here. Go Bears!
"BEST IN THE THE WORLD"
BE BOLD. BE BRILLIANT. BE BERKELEY
I first attended Berkeley in the mid 90s. Unfortunately I had some troubles and did not handle my business so I dropped out. I had always planned on returning, however, I was diagnosed with a mental health disorder. It took a long time for me to adjust my meds and even then I suffered the side effects of lethargy. In 2014 I mustered up the courage to return. With the guidance and reassurance of Dean Wilt in L&S I was readmitted. I was so scared and intimidated by all of the young bright students, but I soon realized there was nothing to fear. Berkeley is one of the most diverse universities in the world. I was 43 yrs old when I returned. I can assure everyone that there are students from various ethnicities, age, sexual orientation, medical conditions, religions, poltical and sociological ideologies. Moreover, Berkeley fosters tolerance. There is a university requirement for students, which is called American Cultures. Each student has the option to learn about a culture and fulfill the requirement. I get along with people from diverse backgrounds. For all those people who accuse Berkeley of being segregated, I ask that you walk all over the campus as classes are letting out. One can see the broad range of students intermingling. Its not segregated as those one star people are proposing. Berkeley is in my opinion the home of diversity with a voice for all those who want to engage in social, poltical and religious discourse.
Lo mejor de lo mejor, no hay comparacion excelente ambiente, cultura y el clasico top dog
Terrible school that the students and faculty have zero respect for and difference of opinion and are extremely violent I'd be worried about you safety if you're on the campus
Been there twice! First was taking my genius nephew to look over the university and plan together for him after his H.S. graduation.
Secondly... visit him finally. CAL was one of the nicest university I've ever been, quite and peaceful place as well.
Had a great summer at the I- House meeting great minds form across the world.
Go Bears! Whether you are in Berkeley because you are a prospective student, or are just looking for a weekend activity, this campus will not disappoint. At UC Berkeley, you are surrounded by breathtaking Bay views, luscious hills and hiking opportunities, and passionate, inspiring people. Just steps away from classrooms, you'll find delicious eats- check out the classic Top Dog! A few things not to miss while on campus: Going to the top of the Campanile, the North Reading Room, the dinosaurs in VLSB.
In the afternoon, the weather is fine, the wind is blowing, and the tears are right.
Then, next to the golden bear, he waved at me, I wiped the tears,
The country should look at me, the infinite warmth and wideness of darkness caused by loneliness and helplessness.
From the fall semester to the early winter, the weather was so good that I had hardly seen any clouds, and it was a comfortable university. Recommended
The academic experiences that Berkeley has provided are unparalleled in the world of higher education. I would not be where I am today without all that the school has provided me. All hail the golden bears!
Segregation in the school ? What are you guys thinking. .. why go back 50 yrs.
You wanna know a funny thing, I applied to UC Berkeley as a high school senior with high hopes of attending one of the best universities in the world. I had all the requirements, 4.0 gpa, wrote some of the best essays, played multiple sports, community service, sea cadets, etc... but just one thing was missing. I was "white." Yes, I saw people with much lower qualifications than me get in most likely due to ethnicity. Therefore, because I'm considered "white" I guess that made me less admirable in the college's eyes which is essentially a racist, and discriminatory action.
The recent events over the past days have confirmed that UCB has a systemic issue with the terms of "white privelege" and "white entitlement." For a school that I thought had cherished such open-minded and tolerant thinking, we have seen the exact opposite, and what's worse: the school administration tolerated it.
P.S: To put this in to perspective, can you imagine only "white" students blocking "people of color's" freedom of moment? Yeah, me neither, because they would never tolerate that. And the students would've been expelled from the UC system.
Well folks, looks like the very people that led us out of the 1950's are now taking away our civil rights and putting us right back where we were 70 years ago.
Haven't gone yet, planing to transfer in fall of 2016, but the research, facts, and opinions that I have seen and heard have me the more excited. I know it will be challenging, specially with a biology major, but I am confident that I will succeed, especially with all the support and guidance offered at Berkeley. Go Bears!
An Excellent University. Berkeley actually lives up to the hype; once you get in I assure you that it will be one heck of an experience. Getting in here is difficult though, even with a 4.53 Weighted and 4.00 Unweighted GPA I had little hope I'd get in.
The guys who are complaining and whining about how Berkeley sucks and is racist are just salty rejects who still haven't gotten over the fact that they weren't able to enter this wonderful institution.
Terrible school with terrible leadership. Avoid at all costs
left wing university ko the trump style nazi and kkk right wing
