Really beautiful, lots of interesting and fascinating plants. The garden is in top shape and there are a great variety of well-arranged walks. Also they have a nice shop with many plants, seeds and very tempting books. Highly recommended !

Suspended bridges were tons of fun also lots of lovely nature walking. Would love to go back in different seasons to enjoy the wide variety of plants. Great place to let a young child to run around on wide paths and burn off some energy.

Opened in 1916, it is the oldest university botanical garden in Canada. Founded to study native plants in British Columbia, it currently cultivates and researches over 8,000 valuable plants around the world on approximately 110 acres. The main gate is located in the South Garden, and you enter the North Garden through Chinese-style gates and tunnels in the garden.

From April to October, we recommend adding the Greenheart TreeWalk to your admission fee. You can enjoy the forest as if you were a bird or a squirrel on a 310m long aerial walkway stretched about 20m high. Please be careful not to drop your camera or mobile phone, as there are shaking areas. It takes 2 hours to go around the park, enjoy the tree walk and shop at the garden shop.

There are no cafes or restaurants on site. Athletic shoes are ideal because the walking path in the park is not paved with asphalt. Pets other than care dogs and guide dogs are not allowed. Do not leave pets in the car, as there is no shading in the parking lot. Smoking is prohibited on the premises, including the parking lot. The park may be closed from November to March depending on the weather, so please check the opening hours before coming.

A beautiful garden located at UBC. Lots of areas to wander around and explore, with each area having a distinctive theme. They have a small section dedicated to medicinal plants, which was my favourite. Family friendly and fun!

I really enjoyed the gardens. The canopy tree walk was terrifing but I would definiatly recommend it. I found the Nitobi gardens to be the most "garden-y". The Nitobi gardens were so beautiful and peaceful. Loved every bit of it.

Such a great garden, nice place to spend the day especially when it's sunny. Highly recommend seeing the beehives.
Large variety of plants from different parts of the world.
There are drinking fountains located in the park by the pavilion.

My partner and I both love walks, greenery, flowers, and trees. So, this place was the perfect place to spend a few hours on a Saturday on our first full-day in the city. While here, we both decided that not only must we return to Vancouver one day, but we would visit these beautiful botanical gardens in either the summer or the fall.

Garden is quite average, very "natural" and wild.

Biggest gripe is that when purchasing tickets - you're sold up to a maximum of 3; one for main garden, one for suspension bridges and one for Nitobe memorial garden. The last of which is 2km away from Botanical Gardens (but you're not told this upon purchase but rather expected to know it's not within the same place you paid entry to)..

We all respect their is overheads to cover but the seperate price for the bridges is quite extortionate. It should just be covered in Garden price.

I went to the gardens in search of the Group lden Spruce and was delighted to have found it but along the way saw so many other exhibits and educational displays

This is a another jewel in Vancouver's crown and we're so fortunate to have access to it - lots to learn with great suggestions for your own garden

The walkway in the canopy is a fantastic way to see the trees and I highly recommend it to everyone

If you like plants in any form, this is your place. The entrance fee is totally worth it. Don't miss the tree tops walk and relative guided tour. The respect towards the trees was practical: We have not seen a single nail piercing a trunk! A must-see.

Friendly staff and extensive grounds. Not very expensive but also it is more wild versus a well manicured garden. We went in mid May and they were doing a lot of maintenance so avoid that month. The forested areas are great if you don't have time to go to a park like Lynn valley, but I wish their gardens were more lush. If you are in the area and have some time it is worth a visit.

Actually, we're unfortunate for getting to the place after 4:30PM, as probably the guided tour wasn't available. Nonetheless, we were allowed to get it and walk the garden on our on. At the entrance, there's a small shop and the short haired girl in the cashier answered my questions so politely, also saying that they run in a donation basis, which we promptly agreed by putting some bills in a box outside this little shop and entered the UBC Botanical Garden. What a peaceful place for an afternoon. It would be great if the guided tour was available, because this is the sort of knowledge and area which we really love hearing from an expert.

Lovely gardens. Even better than I'd expected. They are currently doing some work on the trails, so we hit a few blocked areas which got us a very confused. Signs/detours/directions would be helpful.

We had our wedding here a couple of weeks ago and it was magical! The gardens provided just the setting we hoped for. It was visually so beautiful and great for kids who had room to run around on the lawn. The staff were easy to work with and helpful in lead up, as well as on the day. It's a more logistically involved choice of venue, but it was ABSOLUTELY worth it.

Just had a quick visit. Seemed like a giant overgrown path really not much to see. Dis the tree walk, which has to be the scariest thing ever. I do not trust those flimsy aluminium platforms haha

This is a breezy and cozy garden with a big variety of trees. The trails meandering in the forest are like an amazing maze. Taking an adventure on the Greenheart Tree Walk is highly recommended.

Staff are super friendly and the garden is gorgeous. There is a wide array of different landscapes represented. The food garden is wonderful to see and it's so lovely that the food is donated to local shelters! Also loved the physic garden and the tree walk is a must do (you see the forest from a whole other perspective). It's such a peaceful place to enjoy with friends, family or loved one.... enjoy a tranquil walk in the forest while enjoying the sounds of nature, the moss covered trees and the beautiful magnolias!

Much of the garden was closed off, and much of it was not tended or landscaped to the standard that I'd expect of a botanical garden of this sort. The physic garden was a highlight, though -- lovely space.

Very cool exhibition of various plant life from around the world. Very interesting to see the different plants, and speculate on how they evolved to fit in their environments. The medicinal plants on display were interesting, on how they were used early on in medicine.

We had our wedding at the UBC Botanical Gardens last month and from the initial coordinating stage with Jazel, to the day of the wedding and the day after, the UBC team was completely fantastic.

On the day of our wedding, Lisa, Jules and Hazeem went above and beyond, and were so kind, accommodating and gracious to us and our families. We had lots of comments on how awesome their team was. They truly helped us have a beautiful and seamless event.

We would definitely recommend the UBC Botanical Garden as a wedding venue.
