I catered a wedding here. The grounds were lovely as was the volunteer assigned to facilitate us. There is no real kitchen in the upper garden building (what they call a kitchen is a sink and 3 foot counter) which made things challenging. The lower garden ( on the south side of the highway) has a full kitchen as i recall. If you are planning to have a wedding here you need to make sure the caterer can work with the facilities ( or lack thereof). Also the garbage, compost and recycling situation is a little...whats the word...excessive, restrictive, typical UBC exhaustive. Dont let that stop you, but just ask the questions. A good caterer should be able to work something out, as long as there are no "surprises". We made it happen! The table was set under a trellis walkway draped in vines, and it looked spectacular. One of the prettiest venues ive worked for sure.

Secret garden, there are two parts, in one part you will walk in the original forest, in the other part, you are in a man-made garden. For UBC neighbourhood (UNA CARD) is free, one-time visit cost around $8, one year card cost near $60.

It's a older botanical garden and as such it isn't as well signed/labeled as other botanical gardens. It does seem more over grown and a bit more clustered. Definitely some great plants to see. However I did enjoy Van Dusen Gardens much better. The way it was laid out and the cleanliness of the gardens really appealed to me there as opposed to UBC botanical. That being said I would come back to enjoy some of the plants that you cannot see at Van Dusen Gardens

We really enjoyed our experience here! It felt more like a hike in the forest than a walk in a garden, with acres of nature to explore. Our favourite part was the Tree Walk, it was fun to get a squirrel-eye view of the botanical garden!

Quiet park with lots of short walks and beautiful gardens. A great respite from the bustle of the city. The greenheart tree walk is also really fun for those looking for a different perspective of the forest.

Too many paths closed was enjoyable. The tree top walk is very fun but very scary for those not use to heights as the bridges connecting do sway and there are some pinch point between the metal grates. Overall great time saw eagles Robins and many other birds as well as smelling some of the floral scents on the way to the north garden through the moon gate is well worth it.

Beautiful scenery. Fun treetop walkway. Was a great family outing that was almost ruined by the rude and unprofessional man child working at the ticket booth entrance to the treetop walk way. I have never had such blatantly rude service from anyone anywhere at anytime that even came close to this. I won't give his name only he was a young man in his twenties deep voice especially from such a femanine face blondish hair with long front bangs. Incredibly rude, racist, and sexist comments to nearly everyone that he talked to.
I doubt he will keep his job very long.

The gardens are very well kept, and lack the traditional neat and tidy style of gardening. The tunnel that connects the two halves of the garden is a nice touch. The tree walk was a great experience, though not so good for people who are bad with heights.

Such a beautiful garden ! Very natural, the conservation plan is really interesting. We also had the chance to do the Treewalk which is an adventure itself ! I would recommend anyone in the area to visit this garden.

Was part of a wedding at the Botanical Gardens, beautiful venue, with a view of the ocean, ample area for a Marquee outside. The room was nice, and the patio out front was lovely. The only downside are the Washrooms ... really unpleasant.

This is a great spot for UBC students to clear your head or walk around nature on campus! My parents love plants and this is a good spot to take people on campus if they haven t been here before and want to see gardens!

I always enjoy visiting UBC's campus, and the incredible UBC Botanical Garden. But this time was frustrating due to the terrible online ticketing system set up for the Garden through Eventbrite. Sharon at the garden centre was incredibly helpful in providing me with details on completing the booking, but I was not happy with Eventbrite's booking system. I cannot imagine inexperienced computer users being able to have any success with making reservations to the garden. World-class garden: low-class booking sytsem.

Another hidden gems in Greater Vancouver this represents an excellent collection of cpecimens. If you time it right with the magnolias and rhode drone in bloom will provide a great experience. Definitely a visit.

The botanical garden inside is very large. We recommend that you prepare a drink before taking a walk. There was a forest-like area that I couldn't think of as a university campus, so it was full-scale. The rare fluffy plants were impressive. You also did something like a Segway class on the grass inside. It seems that there is a bridge that you can pass through if you pay a separate fee and you can go all the way. I didn't go because I didn't buy a ticket to go there, but I walked so much that it hurt my legs. Huh.

Very nice walk through the gardens, we came too late to buy tickets for the tree walk. Which is an extra cost. UBC students get free admission which was great for my daughter. A good variety of plants and trees.

Great walking area! I d pay just to go for long beautiful walks! The tree walk was very cool despite my height fear/ being terrified!

Bring your camera and take pictures of all the beautiful trees and plants!

Wear full footwear as it s mulch

Only rating 4 as they didn t have enough pretty flowers just bushes and trees!

Wonderful experience when you walked on the swing trails between the platform and hundred year's old cedars and pines. Gardens are fantatic. Suits for all ages although small admissions needed but worth to go. Three hours free parking is considerable.

Pretty garden convenient for UBC students. Lots of trees and pleasant smells. Tree walk looked interesting, but we were not informed by staff upon purchasing tickets that it cost extra; finding a gate barring the walk was a bit disappointing and confusing. Staff also seemed perplexed and judgmental about invisible disabilities, which made the experience unsettling and less than stellar. Make sure to allocate 2h for the main botanical garden if you are planning to take photos and do the treewalk.

This is a beautiful labour of love. We spent a wonderful 3 hours exploring the lovely trails, informative sign boards and enjoying the experience. The add on cost if the Green Heart canopy walk is worth it. We loved walking above the forest floor, above some trees and under the canopy of others. The specialty gardens were really interesting. Kids will love the canopy walk.

Really beautiful. Many opportunities to learn about native plants or the many plants brought over from Japan. The tree walk was short but I loved every minute of it.
Definitely on the pricey side though.

One of highly recommended tourist place! It is really colorful and beautiful in the fall!!! There are many plants to see as well as a forest to explore!!! However, (to be honest), I don t think it is worth paying that much to come in as UBC has so many beautiful streets / places to see (e.g., maple leaves and fall colors)! Moreover, it is not stroller-friendly so parents prepare to bring your carriers if you wanna visit this place with a young baby!
